Nicolai87
Surprised there isn't a sticky about this. No idea what it means yet for FM. http://www.segasammy.co.jp/english/pdf/release/20120330sega_kaikaku_e_final.pdf
Kriss
This bit tells you; "decided to narrow down sales titles from the following period and after to strong IPs, such as “Sonic the Hedgehog,”, “Football Manager”, “Total War” and “Aliens” which are expected to continue posting solid earnings." Keyzer Soze
So... the news is... there is a future to FM! Just wondering, if SI didn't linked with Sega, would FM still be in the market?
milnerpoint
I did read that SEGA were going to downsize a bit, no surprises there, id imagine FM is a great wee earner for them tho.
Smurf
I'm sure there would be plenty of other places to take FM under their wing I'm sure that FM didn't walk into SEGA and tell them they were working with them. I'm fairly sure that it was tendered out and there was a process to filter SEGA as the eventual candidate to take on FM and work with SI...
Guest
On the face of it it looks like there will be less competition for resources within Sega which can only be a good thing for the likes of FM.
Things Could Get Messi
You only have to look at the loyal fanbase who buy FM year after year to realise that Sega would be silly to drop the title. How many other games on PC/MAC have such a consistent annual performance?
SCIAG
You only have to look at the loyal fanbase who buy FM year after year to realise that Sega would be silly to drop the title. How many other games on PC/MAC have such a consistent annual performance? It isn't even that. FM is the best selling PC game by a long way. Generally the two best selling PC games of a year are the two FMs of that year. SEGA will only drop FM if they aren't in any position to continue at all, and whilst SEGA's profits are decreasing, they aren't likely to go bankrupt as long as they keep producing Sonic, Total War and, yes, FM. rocky0
As long as EA Sports never get their hand on the FM series.....[shudders at the thought]
Sir_Liam
As long as EA Sports never get their hand on the FM series.....[shudders at the thought] Atleast it'd stop people suggesting on these forums that they want to spend their manager's earnings. Silent_Thunder
As long as EA Sports never get their hand on the FM series.....[shudders at the thought] Although I wouldn't mind the 3d graphics they got. Of course all the baggage that would come with is a diffrent story entirely.
Mike7077
Sometimes I wake up in a cold sweat at the thought of no more Football Manager. It's one of life's simple pleasures.
