Great job so far in China B.W.G. Fantastic bounce back from disappointment in Montenegro.

Interesting World Cup especially with Groups A, E & G being so tight! Who got the win over Brazil in the group stage? New Zealand or Iceland?

But Iceland do have a strong U21 side at the moment irl. They qualified for this summer's Euro U21 Finals and have several players tipped for big things. Perhaps 2014 would be a bit soon but it's not inconcievable that they could be appearing at tournaments in the future

New Zealand beat them 2-1.Brazil then went and sacked the manager after the game!

DodgeeD - I think it's due to the fact that I thought it was too early for them,I was expecting around Euro 2016 when they were peaking. The other thing what surprised me was they topped the group which had Serbia,Montenegro and Greece. They came 1st in which there was only 3 points between themselves and Greece who finished 4th!Still quite an achievment for them :D

I didn't even realise about DR Congo,it was only looking at them after one of my players got capped for them that I realised they made the 2nd round....shows you how observant I am :D

Will have an update soonish either today or tomo but depends on work!!

Final Transfers - These signings were made with the goal of winning the Asian Champions League after I had identified the weak areas of the team. The signings made gave us more depth to the team giving us a stronger squad. Was not too bothered with the outgoing, the one big fee for leaving was Martinez but he kept whining about moving to a bigger club and didn't believe the club could grow so I slapped him on the transfer list and sold him!

Competitions

League - Table - I am pleased that we won the league but we nearly did a Newcastle and choked as we nearly threw away a 13 point league and it took till the last game of the season to get the league wrapped up.It was a much tougher league this season as most of the top half teams strengthened quite a bit but we deserved it as we scored the most and conceded the least amount of goals. It was sweet to pip Beijing to the title as their manager and I don't get on so I get last laugh!

Asian Champions League - Winner - This competition was my priority and the fact we won it made it all the sweeter. We had no problems what so ever in the run up to the final. We had the majority of the final in our favour, where I'm pleased we won,I am not pleased that we couldn't score our selves but I can't complain too much as this gave us a shot at the Club World Cup!

Club World Cup - Quarter Final-6th Place - The squads morale was low after losing to Beijing in the cup final but I could not get it up as we lost the quarter final in what was a close game. The defeat against Etoile wasn't too bothering for me as we deserved to lose after the performance we put in!

Chinese Cup - Runner-Up - I had no problems with our run into the final as we made easy work of it.The final however can be summed up in 1 word......Choked.We took the lead in the last minute of the game when there was 4 minutes of injury time only for Beijing to equalize a minute later. We then lost on penalties which did annoy me as we edged the game but at the end of the day,if you don't take your chances then you could end up paying the price.

Pan Pacific Championship - Winners - I didn't exactly take this competition seriously has I was using it as a glorified friendly competition but with winning I have to say I am pleased with the mixture of my team!In the game against Cerezo,I fielded my reserves as they won 3-1.My first XI played in the final in what was a tougher game but we managed to get the victory even if it meant going through a penalty shootout!

All Star Game -Winners - We won 3-1 in a game which I consider a morale boosting victoy and the best way we could have ended the season!

Players,Stats and Awards

Shi Yuan was the top scorer hitting 23 goals in 45 games.I did want to drop him at one point but I had a injury crisis up front while he was suffering a crisis of confidence as he went 12 hours without scoring! He is still young though and looks to me that he could play in a better standard league. He will contine to improve so I am expecting alot more from him.

Chen Zhizhao topped the assist chart with 23 which set a new club record! He also scored 7 times in what was a productive season for him.I hope he is able to keep this up!

Emmanuel Kiaku won Player of the Year and Golden Boot - He was outshone by his strike partner overall but he still put in brilliant performances week in and week out and was deservingly capped by DR Congo. He was the player I was on about in my previous post!

Abdulla Abdo won Foreign Player of the Year as he was the outstanding performer in China as he created goals and scored so he was deserving of the award.

Overview

It was a brilliant season even if the team nearly choked as we threw away a 13 point lead!Shame we couldn't make it 3 in a row for the Chinese Cup but Beijing are one of the strongest teams in China so I can take the loss.My contract ends in December 2015 and I will not be renewing but I currently have offers from Rio Ave and NEC Nijmegen.Rio are fighting against Relegation while NEC are fighting for the title.I might just wait a bit as I will more then likely reject Rio Ave but will not sure with NEC.I would also like to go to other continents have I have previously been linked with jobs in Mexico and Argentina.

The one thing which has pleased me the most was winning the Asian Champions League although our performance in the Club World Cup was not too good.Always knew Asia would give me a lift in my career!

Just received an offer from Mexican side Morelia.

http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx349/will2909/Hitchhikers%20Guide%20to%20FM/MoreliaOffer.png[/img]"]MoreliaOffer.png

I have decided to take this offer up as its on a new continent, also I have never played there and the fact the club is always near the bottom so I will be looking to build it up.

This is the position I will takeover in:

http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx349/will2909/Hitchhikers%20Guide%20to%20FM/MexicanFirstDivisionInformation_Stages.png[/img]"]MexicanFirstDivisionInformation_Stages.png

As you can see we are not performing very well!It is the closing stage and I have 16 games to turn things around!Morelia also came 17th in the opening stage so I will have a massive job on my hands! The squad is not actually that bad,it is just weak on the left hand side and right wing.We have some quality youth players who may get 1st teams games and I will look to stregthen the weak areas with the transfer budget.

This will be a unique experience for me seeing as I have never managed in Mexico before and will put me to my ultimate test to see if I can be any good here like I was in China.

Let the long road to being NACL Champions begin!!!!!

Nice way to bow out in China with the ACL victory

Mexico is complicated, especially as you've finished near the bottom of the opening stage. It is likely you will need to have a strong mid-table finish in the closing stage to avoid relegation...I think! Good luck!

AK22 - Thanks,I think it was the best way to bow out :D It looks complicated but I'll look to finish above Leon in the closing stage as they were bottom of the opening stage!I don't have a clue about Mexico's system so I will take any luck people are willing to give :p

iacovone - Thank you  I did mention that managing in Asia always kick starts my career but with no reputation problems unlike on one of the earlier patches,it's easier to get a better job! You'll get to one of the Americas eventually and when you do,everyone will know you deserve it :D

No transfers were made by me as the transfer window was shut.

Competitions

Opening Stage - Table - Opening Stage - Group - I am pleased to say that I was not in charge for this otherwise it would have been me who got the sack!I thought I would show what the previous manager did during the season.

Closing Stage - Table - Closing Stage - Group - I am pleased at how we turned the season around without actually signing anyone!Although I am gutted we missed out on a playoff place 1 point! As you can see,if we were in group 2 then we would have qualified! As we havd very little defence to begin with,I decided to go on the score more then you approach which kind of payed off even if it was nerve wrecking at times!Better luck next season!

Players,Stats and Awards

Miguel Sansores was top scorer hitting 12 in 30 appearances. When I took over,he was sitting on 2 in 15 so he really upped his performances in the second half of the season. If it was not for him then we would have came much lower as he had a knack for scoring vital goals!

Abderrahmane Hachoud topped the assist chart with 16.I played him as AMR as I was lacking in the wing positions. He did really well and was one of the beter looking players in the team. His performances under me were alot better then the previous manager as most of the assists came from under my managment!I will be looking at him to continue his high performances which were shown in the 2nd half of the season.

Loanee Luis Fernando Perez won DC of the Year.He was the outstanding performer in the team as he was rated as one of the best even at such a young age, never let the pressure get to him. Will be looking to get him ona permanent transfer.

Jonni Cabrera won Fans Player of the Year.He was the best out of a inconsistent bunch. He performed well and came up with some valuable goals which helped the teams cause.

Overview

Seeing as I made no transfers to give me a better team,I think I performed very well although I was gutted in missing out on a playoff place. If I was in group two,we would have qualified!I had no choice but to go for score more then the opposition hence the high goals conceded column. This is something I will look to improve if I can find better defenders especially at left back as even our scouts cannot find anyone suitable!

Seeing as I didn't have instant success, this will only make me more motivated to bring success to the club no matter how long it takes! Also,I was made favourite for five jobs and I have been in Mexico less then 6 months! The jobs were Atlanta (Italy - Serie A),Birmingham (England - Premiership),Botafogo and Flamengo (Brazil - 1st Division) and San Lorenzo (Argentina - 1st Division).Needless to say,I have no intention of moving. If I do move then at the earliest,it will be 2017!

Old Club Watch

FK Podgrica - Finished 3rd in the league but were no where near the eventual champions as they were 22 points behind in a 18 game season!Another quick exit from the cup.

Changchun - Currently sitting 1st in the league.Into the semi finals of the Chinese Cup.Went out in teh group stages in the Asian Champions League and were Runners-Up in the Pan-Pacific Championship.

Budgets

Transfer - £1.32 Million - £1.24 Million remaining

Wage - £125,000 p/w - Currently spending £114,029 p/w

Transfers - This was probably one of the hardest transfer windows I have had to go through due to only having 5 foreign spots to play with and already have three first choice foreigners in the team!I have managed to strengthen the team by quite alot especially in the DL,AML and AMR positions.I have also strengthened the MC and ST position but it may take a bit to gel the team although pre-season results were very positive!

Competition Requirements - My aim is in itallics.

Opening Stage - Safe Mid-Table position - Mid Table

Closing Stage - Safe Mid-Table position - Top Four

Key Players

Francois Nlend - GK - He is a our number 1 keeper and has 4.5* PA but he could find himself the victim of unfortunate circumstances due to being foreign and me identifying a Canadian/Mexican keeper. He performed well at times last season but at others he mad silly mistakes which is probably down to the very high eccentricity.Dubbed the new Joseph-Antoine Bell.

Abderrahmane Hachoud - DR/WBR/MR/AMR - Very handy player to have seeing as he can play anywhere on the right. For this coming season he will be primarily used at DR as we are lacking in that position and I could not find anyone who was Mexican to take that place.I have no problem with this player as he was one of the more consistant players despite having a nightmare opening stage last season! His versatility will come in great use to cover injures and suspensions in the new season.

Jorge Kalu Gastelum - DM/MC - Plays in the more defensive position of the two MCS.Took to his role very well last season. He is the type of player who does not get any hype as he is just there and does his job to the best he can.A key midfielder in the new season as he has high workrate and quite high teamwork,he has a good tackling attribute (14) so he is perfect for the position I play him in.

Levis Ouseb - ML,MC/AML,AMC - A bargain as he was bought in on a free after refusing a new contract at his old club.Makes me feel like Scrooge seeing as I am paying him very little a week!He is rated at 5* PA so will be a talent in the future and will be playing a AML for us although I will be able to move him to the centre if need be.My problem for him will be at the start of the season which will be down to a lack of match fitness as he only took part in one pre-season friendly which he scored in anyway!

Robbie Cobian - ST - One of a trio I have dubbed the American Mexicans! He is an immediate starter up front. The wage is a bit high but from what I seenmhe will be worth every penny of it.Another player who might start slow due to lack of match fitness.Only played one pre-season friendly but did score twice and missed a penalty! He is rated at 3* CA but has 4*PA.My main hope for goals from teh ST position this season!

Overview

It's been quite a tough pre-season when it comes to transfers as there is very little talent in the positions I was looking for who were not foreign! The other one was getting rid of players who were on ridiculous wages. We had a player on our books who was on £30k p/w which is stupid seeing as that is about a quarter of our wage budget alone.

I am expecting a slower start hence why my expectations for the closing stage are higher then the opening stage as I will be looking to bring in two more players at most due to contracts expiring. They are Roberto William (Canadian/Mexican Keeper) which will free up a foreign Spot and Shi Yuan (Chinese Striker I had at Changchun) as both their contracts are ending 31/12/15!

The last thing is that I want to at least make it past the group stage seeing as I was really unlucky last season but I have shaped my squad to how I want it and have promoted a few youth players for DC and ST as they will be able to make it eventually at the league's current standard so I am feeling quite confident!

Link to post

It's really annoying when you take over a team which has one player taking a huge chunk of the wage budget. It's normally difficult to sell them off too, as most teams can't afford their wage demands. If they're not a regular first team player, I tend to offer them out for £0 to see if there's any takers.

His contract was expiring so I released him on a free and I didn't even care for the fact that he was a club icon although the fans didn't care that I released him :p:D

I'm sure the career can somehow get more bizarre. Not sure how weird the next World Cup will be but I'm calling a Iceland-Wales final in Euro 2016 seeing as they both have qualified!

On a side note.....Morelia have won the opening stage with a 7-6 agg victory over Chivas in the final and now have qualified for the Copa Libertadores :D:D

I might actually get a good Libertadores run seeing as I somehow I avoided all the big guns in the group stages,in the group with us are Emelec (Ecuador),Deportivo Tachira (Venezuela) and Libertad (Paraguay).Already knocked Danubio (Uruguay) out in the prelim 6-1 on agg!!

Transfers - I made alot in the summer to give us a much better looking first XI and strength in depth.I expected a slow start with how many players I bought in.I bought in three more players in the winter transfer window to strengthen further.Moreno was my 2nd pick for GK as he was more expensive then the first choice Canadian/Mexican I was after,Mascarenas was bought in as he was a quality Mexican who came in handy for rotation.Shi Yuan was my hot prospect at Changchun and I was pleased to see him released on a free after his fallout with the manager, was shocked to get him as Bordeaux put an offer in for him.

Competitions

1st Division - Opening Stage - Table - Opening Stage Final - We had a slow start to season due to gelling and my ****-up of registering players. We failed to win in the first four but after that we were alot more solid and started racking up the wins,we claimed 3rd on the last league game of the Opening Stage but I was not very satisfied with how we played for the majority of it as it showed we needed another striker and a better keeper. We finished 7 points ahead of 3rd in the group (Tigres) so I got to have a go at the playoffs to decide the Opening Stage winner. We disposed of Pachuca 2-1 in a nervy affair as it looked like both teams were afraid of losing. In the semi finals we went through 3-0 on agg against Atlas who were poor at finishing which made it look easier then it actually was.All finals are supposed to be memorable but this stunning 5-4 victory against Chivas will always be remembered even if it did wreck my nerves. The 2nd leg finished 2-2 in which was a fair result as the game was even to give us a 7-6 win to claim the Open Stage to give us a chance at the Copa Libertadores.

1st Division - Closing Stage - Table - Closing Stage Final - I am very pleased with our performances in the closing stage as we really started to click, our squad is very nearly complete and we were not to far off the America (Mex) who have come top of the table for the 2nd time on the run.We qualified from the group with ease as us and Tigres were quite a way ahead of 3rd place. In the quarter finals we eased past Veracruz 5-3 on agg before beating Pumas 4-2 on agg in which both games were very close.I am not sure how we weon the final as we missing eight players due to internationals. We took a narrow lead into the 2nd leg before losing it by one goal. The score was 2-1 to Tigres after 90 minutes before we both scored in extra time and we held our nerve to claim the Closing Stage Final on penalties.

Copa Libertadores - Quarter-Finals - I am very pleased with our first attempt at this competition. We got through to the quarters with no problems. We beat Danubio 6-1 on agg in the prelims. In the group stage,we went through as top of the group with a record of won five and losing one.In the 2nd round,we disposed of Peruvian side Cristal 7-1 on agg.We were drawn against Sao Paulo in which we could not match the quality finishing of the Brazilian side as we went out 5-4 on agg in which both games we were even.Hoping for more of the same next season.

Players,Stats and Awards

Robbie Cobian was top scorer hitting 26 goals in 52 appearances. He started off slowly but when he found his form,he was very good. The closing stage saw him form a deadly partnership with Shi Yuan so I expect more of the same from him next season.

Levis Ouseb topped the assist chart with a club record of 27.Even though he is a pain in the ass off the pitch,he is quality on it.His performances netted him Player of the Season,Young Player of the Season and AM of the Season. If he can continue to perform like this,I don't care that he gets caught going out drinking before matchday!

Abderrahmane Hachoud won Fullback of the Season in which he was solid throughout the season and was better by quite a distance then the others in my (Morelia tinted glasses) opinion. He has also helped my cause in take Mexican has a 2nd nationality as he has been in the country 5 years so it reduces the foreign slots.

Overview

It was a brilliant season even if we did not top any of the league tables.I do feel I was lucky as I did not face my bogey team America (Mex) in any of the two legged affairs.I am relieved with this due to not having beat them in three attempts (Lost all 3!) I am also pleased with our first attempt at the Copa Libertadore in which we took the game to Sao Paulo even though we came up short.

I rejected an offer from Atletico Mineiro as I feel I'm not quite ready to move clubs yet as I feel we will be able to compete for the NACL title evem though it will be our first season in it.I have a contract till 2018 so I feel I will be able to get the NACL won before moving on so the earliest I will be quitting is 30th June 2017 if I win the competition.

A mini update.......Germany won Euro 2016 by beating Ireland in the final 1-0.

After the tournament was over,I received a offer from Slovakia.

I decided to take this up as it is my first offer at international level.

The situation is that Vladimir Weiss left after being knocked out of Euro 2016 by Sweden in the 2nd round. My job is to guide the team to a playoff place in the upcoming World Cup qualifying which can be quite tough as this is my group....

It is not exactly the easiest of groups as us,Slovenia,Sweden and Switzerland all have a shot at finishing in the top two.I will be employing the same tactics that I have been using with Morelia (4-2-4) as Slovakia have some quality wingers in Weiss and Stoch. My first game as Slovakia manager will be a friendly against Belgium!!

Budgets

Transfer - £3 - £0 remaining

Wage - £145,000 p/w - Currently spending £140,815 p/w

Transfers - Don't really need to bring any more players in as I'm very happy with the squad and that is handy seeing as I was given no transfer budget anyway! The players who have left were youngsters who failed to make the grade so I thought it was fair to let them go and try get action elsewhere.I could do with another DC or DL on a free transfer seeing as I have £5k p/w to play with roughly.

Competition Requirements - My aim is in itallics.

Opening Stage - Challenge for Title - Challenge for title

Closing Stage - Challenge for Title - Challenge for title

NACL - Semi-Final - Final

SuperLiga - Semi-Final - Final

Key Players

Rafael Moreno - GK - He was actually my 2nd choice for when buying a keeper but in the 2nd half he made himself the undisputed number one as he pulled off some really good games in the Copa Libertadores last season.Although he is young,I have no trouble in putting in him in the big games.Only conceded 33 goals in 32 games so wasn't too bad with how many goals I tend to score. He will continue to improve and is only a matter of time before a bigger club comes in for him.

Abderrahmane Hachoud - DR/WBR/MR/AMR - To be honest,I am surprised no bigger teams have come in for him.He is an excellent player for the level we are playing at and made the DR position his own after I moved him there for the last season. He has gained Mexican for a 2nd nationality which helps the team alot with regards to foreign player slots, hope he is able to keep his form up.

Levis Ouseb - ML,MC/AML,AMC - After last seasons performances,I don't really need to say anything other then I hope he can keep his performances up and that I am able to keep him at the club as he is attracting alot of attention from clubs in Europe.Towards the end of last season,it looked like he gave up drink after me consistantly fining him for doing so a thing.

Robbie Cobian - ST - Had an excellent first season in Mexico where he averaged a goal every two games.I hope he is able to continue that sort of strike rate up.This season could see him score more as he won't need time to settle in like he did at the start of last season. We will miss him when he goes to the Olympics with the USA.

Shi Yuan - ST - Cobian's first choice strike partner.Signed in January and made an immediate impact with the club as he scored 19 goals in 27 appearances.Nice to see he has not lost his goal scoring touch from when I managed him at Changchun. He will also be missing the start of the campaign as he is at the Olympics with China which is an annoyance for me.

Overview

Not too bothered with lack of transfers as we do have a strong enough squad for the forthcoming season. With regards to the SuperLiga has that has already started,we are through to the final where we will face Chivas. The most pleasing thing about this is that I finally managed to get one over America (Mex) to give us our first win in four attempts against them! The NACl doesn't seem to difficult if the board have given us a target of the Semi-Final so I will be looking to win the thing first attempt.

With regards to my future, this could be my last season but that is down to the performance in the NACL,if we win then I will leave end of the season,if we don't then I stay till I have won it.Over pre-season,I rejected five club jobs which 3 were from Europe and 2 were from South America so my progress in management is not going unnoticed.Ideally I want to go to South America next as the Copa Libertadores is the 2nd biggest continental cup after the European Champions League.

You've got three very promising youngsters on your book, will be interesting to see how they develop

Good luck for another season with Morelia...and Slovakia. I think you'll need more than luck to do well with the later though!

Yes they are but with my facilities being average I think that may hinder their development.I am thankful that they are still at the club seeing as I have managed to run up quite a bit of debt in less then 2 years :p

Thanks although I do think I am in over my head with Slovakia :D

Had an offer which has appealed to me:

I decided to accept this,as for me it is the next step up!I will be moving on the 18th June 2017 after the Mexican Season is over!I was also given a positive reaction from the Arsenal de Sarandi board:

In Morelia related news, everything is going smoothly.I am at the end of February sitting in 1st with one foot in the NACL semi finals after giving New York Redbulls a 5-1 tonking on their own ground!!

Transfers - Signed noone as I knew we had a strong enough squad to challenge on all fronts. No major outgoing other then Bossman who was a waste of a foreign limit who was at the club before I took over. How I got £1.3 million is surprising seeing as I very rarely played him so I was expecting offers less then a million!

Competitions

1st Division - Opening Stage - Table - Opening Stage Final - Was quite a tight affair until the last few games in which we managed to pull away to secure first,we were helped by America (Mex) hitting a rough patch which saw them drop to 3rd.Our main contribution to doing so well was our ability to score as we only failed to score once which was against Monterrey. The quarter finals saw us dispose of Estudiantes Tecos 7-1 on agg before we faced our rivals America (MEX) in the semi final. We drew the first leg 2-2 before winning the second leg 2-0 in front of our home crowd to send us through to the final. In the final,we faced Pumas but they were no match for us as we won 5-0 on agg to seal a 3rd title.

1st Division - Closing Stage - Table - Closing Stage Final - Somehow we managed to surpass our Opening Stage league performance as we ran out top by eight points. We scored in every game of the closing campaign. The quarter finals saw us dispose of Necaxa 10-1 on agg before we faced Monterrey in the semi final. This was a much tougher battle but in the end,it was our first leg which made all the difference as we won 3-0 while in the 2nd leg we drew 2-2 which gaves us a 5-2 agg victory. The final was tougher yet,two close games saw us edge past Pumas 3-2 on agg to secure our 4th title on the run!

NACL - Winners - This competition was easier then the league! We scored 18 times in the 6 group games in which we won five and drew one.In the quarter finals we were drawn against New York Redbulls in which we went through 6-3 on agg.The semi finals were both All Mexico affairs,we eased past Pumas 6-1 on agg.The final saw us against Tigres in which should have been the toughest tie of the competition but we won the final 8-0 on agg to show our domination of North America,we also set a new record when as we scored 38 goals in the competition.

Players,Stats and Awards

I won Manager of the Season in my last season at Morelia.

Shi Yuan was the top goalscorer hitting a very impressive 41 goals in 50 appearances and is also bearing down on the Chinese record of 40 goals! He was the leagues Top Goalscorer and won Attacker of the Season

Levis Ouseb topped the assist chart with a club record 39 and also chipped in with an impressive 23 goals!Due to his ever impressive appearances,he won Player of the Season,Young Player of the Season and AM of the Season. He will become a superstar but I doubt it will be under my managment!

Abderrahmane Hachoud won Fullback of the Season.A key player who always performs and always shows his consistencty.Had him play in the DR position this season so I am shocked with him getting 26 assists as that seems a bit too high for someone in the DR position!

Jonni Cabrera won DC of the Season in which he was solid throughout the season and managed to chip in with 12 goals.I am surprised he has not had more international caps seeing as he has had a brilliant season.

A special mention to Robbie Cobian who performed very well throughout the season even though he didn't win any awards. He did score 37 goals in 54 appearances and also chipped in with 19 asissts and averaged at 7.67 throughout the season.I was blessed to have him up front with Shi Yuan.

Overview

Probably was the best way to go out!I've enjoyed my time at Morelia and managed to get them from a bunch of nobodies to one of the bigger club in Mexico in three seasons.I will be leaving the club in a healthy position of sorts as they have a lot of youngsters who will have a good sale value which should more then get rid of the whole £67k debt I ran up :p

In all fairness, the league was more challenging then the NACL as the American teams were not as tough as I thought they would be but the mixture of my goalscoring tactics and the quality of players I had at my disposal were more then enough to see us over the finishing line even if there were tight affairs in the run up to the end of the season.

Overview

This is a very tough group and the four I expected to challenge, are challenging. We may not be the best of teams but the players I have are suited towards my tactics as I have been using the same tactic for Slovakia as I have for Morelia. The four games we have left are Slovenia,Sweden,Liechtenstein and Estonia so I do fancy my chances of cementing a top two position which should give us a playoff place. We drew both times with Switzerland which is pleasing as I was expecting them to be top of the table by this point.I'm hoping we can continue this form but we need to be at our best to make sure that we meet the expectations the Slovakian FA set us.

This is how Arsenal dS currently stand with one game left (vs Banfield):

Overview

Judging from the performances from Arsenal dS,I may have a challenge on my hands as they do not have the quality the top teams do.I have signed a contract till June 2021 in which by then,I am hoping that we will be Copa Libertadores challengers by then as well as one of the bigger team's in Argentina.I will need to pull a similar transformation off like I did at Morelia but I am ambitious and will do my absolute best or get fired trying to do so!!

A great season to finish with Morelia. Good luck with the 'other Arsenal' too

You've done surprisingly well with Slovakia so far. You've got a good outside chance of qualification, or at least reaching the playoffs, in what is a very tight group.

Spav - Thanks

rancer890 - I get itchy feet quite quickly :p I did want to but Lyon blew me out of the water....they signed him for £9.25 million!!

AK22 - Thanks  The 'other Arsenal' will do for a challenge seeing as the English one won't,they are now tycoon backed and won the prem by 18 points  I have to admit,I am quite stunned at how well I've done with Slovakia.I think I'd rather get through as first place as there are teams like Germany,Spain and Holland sitting in 2nd in their groups!

Budgets

Transfer - £6.41 million - £2.37 million remaining

Wage - £130,000 p/w -Currently spending £128,185 p/w

Transfers - With the majority of the first team squad being over 30,I decided to go for alot of players under 25 just so I can get a few seasons out of them. The signings made after 11/7 were from my new transfer budget while the rest were out of last seasons.Out of the 10 players signed, only 3 were over 25!All the young signings made are current u20 internationals for their respective countries. It has been difficult but the defence is where I needed to bring the majority of youngsters in.On the outgoing side, they were mainly youths with no futures, the loans were fringe players.Vargas on the other hand was due to minimum release fee in which I didn't care as he didn't like me because I wanted him to stay at the club.

Board Expectations - My expectations in itallics

Premier Division - Opening Stage - Mid-table - Top-Half

Premier Division - Closing Stage - Mid-Table - Top-Half

Key Players

Walter Reyes - DR,DC - The big money signing during the summer. He is the current Argentina u20 captain and comes with a 5* PA so is well worth the money. Will be playing in the DR position as he has natural for both positions.I am expecting big things from him even if it takes a couple of years to develop further.

Nicolas Sanchez - DC - One of the experienced heads who were bought in as he could instantly improve the first XI.From what I have seen of him during pre-season,he will be a solid signing and showed a bit of consistency which will be vital during the season.

Limbert Torres - MC - I am shocked that a player of this calibre is at the club.He was bought for £140k by the previous manager who had a knack for signing youngsters but not playing them.Needless to say he will be first choice in the team.He is already attracting attention from clubs in Brazil and Europe.I will be looking to kick start his career so he can be first choice for Bolivia as well.

Eduardo Salvio -MR,AMR/ST- Quite astonished to get someone of this quality on a free transfer. He looks like he will be a quality signing but it may take a few games until he regains his match fitness. Will be playing in the AMR position as he is currently the best winger until the younger ones are ready to takeover.

Sergio Palacios - ST - Another quality player who was bought in by the previous manager for £1.1 million. He has pace and can finish but he could end up being 3rd choice in a few years as we have two younger players who could take over him.He scored 15 in 30 appearances last season so that is a solid ratio for a striker,if I can get him playing to my tactics straight off the bat then I could potentially get him to around 25 goals for the season barring injuries and suspensions.

Overview

We needed an whole defensive overhaul as the back line was ageing along with the goalkeeper.I have managed to bring in a number of younger players which may take a few years to develop but 70% of the transfers I bought in were u20 internationals.I am looking for top half finishes for both stages which then I would build upon to give the team a solid footing for the future. This could take a while to reach the top as I have bought youngsters in which need to be developed but I am lucky that South America seems to be a goldmine for talent in this save.

Qualifying Group - Table - Playoff Leg 1 - Playoff Leg 2 - We were given a tough group so I was more then pleased to come 2nd in the group. The only game we lost was 2-0 to Slovenia but we didn't have alot of players to choose from as the talent we had at our disposal was considerably less then the bigger nations. It was a very close group but I was more then satisfied in coming 2nd so it gave us a chance of qualifying through the playoff. The draw was very unkind as we got Germany who were easily the 2nd biggest team in the playoff (Italy being 1st).Germany dominated the 1st leg so I was satisfied with a one goal defeat as it should have been alot worse then what it was.The 2nd leg also saw us lose 2-1 but we gave them much more of a battle but it was not to be as we crashed out 4-2 on agg.

Overview

I decided to quit has I felt that I wouldn't be able to do much with them in the future as there was no real talent coming through,so it would be a very hard to get them to qualify for anything.

On the plus side,we did alot better then Spain who failed to even make the playoffs and went out in the same stage as Portugal who lost to Ukraine in the playoffs!
