Transfer window update, 1st Februray 2016

Adaminho- This season Adaminho has been in nothing short of stunning form. While his Portsmouth side struggle against relegation in 17th place, the English striker has been one of the Premier league’s outstanding performers. Making 36 starts he has netted 18, creating 4 with 6 MoM awards and a 7.36 rating. Form which saw him named as runner up in the 2014/15 European striker of the year awards behind Bojan. With this form it is hard to imagine Adaminho sticking with Portsmouth for much longer, whether they survive relegation or not. Adaminho has 6 England caps with 1 goal.

Jose Manuel Arevalo- In his second season with Paris Saint-Germain, Jose has really settled in to his role at the club. Sitting in second place behind Nantes in the league, Jose has been integral to their form. Making 26 starts so far the strong centre-back has scored 2 and made 2 with a 6.03 tackle rate and a 7.19 rating. Form which has seen the Andorran attract interest from Roma and Arsenal. Arevalo has now earned 65 caps for Andorra as the side finished bottom of the Euro 2016 qualifying group without a single point.

Mike Bird- It was a disappointing start to the season for Bird. In his third season with Inter Milan the striker found himself on the fringe of the first team, getting just 8 appearance, where he scored 2 with a 6.75 rating. However, just before the transfer window closed Mike’s potential attracted a £20 million bid from Real Madrid, where he soon signed a £51,000 a week contract. Joining fellow conference wonderkid Pablo Gonzalez, Bird will hope to form the strike partnership of the future at the Bernabeu.

Bobinho- Bobinho has been in impressive form so far this season. Scoring 11 in 19 starts with a 7.16 rating the Welsh striker has played a key role alongside striker partner Quincy Klapatross in helping Arsenal seven points clear in first place in the Premiership. Exceeding expectations for the side tipped to finish 7th. Internationally Bobinho has now won 31 caps for Wales, with 14 goals, seeing his country narrowly miss out on Euro 206 qualification.

Peter Brown- Following last seasons success, Sunderland have underachieved so far in this campaign sitting as they are in 8th place. But despite a disappointing showing, Brown has continued his stunning form. Making 32 starts so far, Brown has netted 18 goals with a 7.25 rating, continuing his excellent partnership up front with Fredino, with 33 goals between them so far. Scoring goals which helped them through the Champions league group stage ahead of AC Milan, Brown is also rated second in the Premiership‘s scoring charts. Peter has won 12 England caps, with 7 goals.

Adam Clatworthy- After recovering from a broken ankle, Clatworthy stepped straight back in the Chelsea side, bagging 4 goals in 8 starts with a 7.38 rating. However after scoring the opening goal against Portsmouth Adam suffered a torn calf muscle which has ruled him out for 3 months so far, with another 3 weeks until he recovers. Losing the two time World footballer of the year has been a blow for Chelsea as they slump to 12th in the Premiership. Clatworthy has 42 caps for Northern Ireland, and 24 goals for the country which narrowly missed Euro 2016 qualification.

Alfonso de silva Santos- It has been a season of contrast of Santos. Despite playing well, he finds himself short of goals for a Roma side struggling in a disappointing 17th place in Serie A. making 14 starts he has netted just 3 times with a 7.14 rating. Roma fans will be hoping for a big change in the second half of the season as the side has won just one game in their last ten. Alfonso now has 68 caps for Andorra, but still hasn’t added to his tally of 7 international goals.

Robert Dillon- While AC Milan find themselves in a disappointing 10th place in Serie A, Dillon has been in solid form. Making 24 starts, a vast majority of which were on the left wing, he has scored 5 and created 5 with 2 MoM awards and a 7.04 rating, which by his own exceptional standards is below par. Dillon is determined to help the club improve their league position after the side tipped to be title contenders have struggled to find form. Dillon has won 19 caps for Montenegro, scoring 4.

Fredino- Following on from last season’s title success, Fredino will be disappointed to see his Sunderland side sitting in 8th place. However, his personal form so far has been exceptional. Making 28 starts so far, the Welsh striker has netted 15 goals, winning 5 MoM awards with a 7.29 rating. His partnership with Brown has continued to sparkle, with the pair netting 33 goals between them. Fredino has won 38 caps for Wales, scoring 13 times as his side missed out on Euro 2016 qualification.

Frketson- In his sixth season with Barcelona, Frketson has been in typically impressive form. Starting 26 games so far the World-class centre-back has a 6.69 tackle rate with an 80% pass rate and a 7.23 rating for a Barca side currently in fifth place. The Croatian has also helped his national side qualify for the Euro 2016 championships in dominant form, conceding just 3 goals in the 10 games, he has won 69 caps with 1 international goal.

Pablo Gonzalez- While Real Madrid sit in a disappointing 13th place in the Spanish league, Pablo has struggled to break in to the in-form strike partnership of Bendtner and Provatidis. But when given a chance Gonzalez has impressed, scoring 2 in his 4 appearances with 1 assist, 1 MoM award and a 7.25 rating. Including the winning goal against Ajax which saw Real qualify for the knockout stage of the UEFA Cup. Pablo will hope to earn some more first team appearances before the season is over.

Haowan- After last season’s phenomenal form for Napoli, few could have expected much more from Haowan. But somehow he has managed to play even better for the 13th placed side. Making 15 starts, the centre-forward has netted 10 goals with 2 assists and 4 MoM awards with a 7.73 rating, making it clear why he is such a fan favourite for Cannavaro’s side. This form also sees him rated amongst Serie A’s most in form players. Haowan will hope to continue his excellent form and help Napoli improve their position in a tight division.

Juan King- In his sixth season with Marseille, King has been in typically impressive form. Making 27 starts so far, the Northern Ireland striker has netted 13 goals with a 7.44 rating. Becoming such a popular player in France with fans and fellow professionals alike, King was chosen by manager Joao Pinto to captain his side, and despite their disappointing league placing of 9th, Marseille will have confidence in his leadership skills. Internationally Juan has won 55 caps for Northern Ireland, scoring 30 goals as his side missed out on Euro 2016 qualification in a tough group.

Quincy Klapatross- Despite Juventus showing interest, Quincy has stayed with Arsenal. And it may prove to be a good choice with Arsenal sitting top of the Premiership, 7 points clear of closest rivals Fulham. And Quincy has performed well when selected in the squad rotation system, making 10 starts scoring 3 goals with a 7.10 rating. Klapatross will hope that a more regular place in the first team will help him improve his scoring record. Quincy has remained a regular for the Dutch national side, scoring 12 in his 26 caps to help Holland qualify for the Euro 2016 championship undefeated.

Callum McCarthy- Callum made an impressive start to the season, making 17 starts he scored 1 with 2 assists and a 7.24 rating, form which helped them into their current league placing of third. But his season suffered a setback when he tore knee ligaments in training, an injury which has ruled him out for the past month, with a further month until he recovers. While his place in the team will be under no doubt, it is a big blow for his, and his clubs ambitions. Callum has now won 51 caps for England, scoring 6 goals to help them qualify for the Euro 2016 championships.

Brendan Petersen- Shortly before completing his move to France with Paris Saint-Germain, Petersen represented Australia in the Asian nations cup. And he started every game, playing brilliantly with an 8 in all but one game, where he got a relatively pedestrian 7! Keeping a clean sheet throughout the group stage, Petersen was superb as his side defeated Kuwait, South Korea and then Saudi Arabia in the final, all with 2-1 scorelines, to claim the championship. Since joining his new club, Petersen has started 18 games wearing the number 1 jersey, conceding 23 and keeping 4 clean sheets with a 6.72 rating. Seeing the side in to 2nd place in the French league, Brendan has helped form one of the divisions best defences behind fellow conference wonderkid Jose Manuel Arevalo. Petersen now has 18 caps for Australia.

Loic Phillipens- Now in his sixth season with Manchester United, Loic is experiencing his best form yet. Despite his side struggling in a disappointing 10th place, the Belgian centre-forward has netted 9 times in his 16 appearances with 3 MoM awards and a 7.25 rating. Playing in a squad rotation system alongside other forward such as Aguero and Rooney, Loic will hope to establish himself further and get some more first team appearances in the second half of the season. Philippens’ international form has continued in exceptional fashion. Helping Belgium through to the Euro 2016 qualification playoffs against Greece, they went through on away goals following a 2-2 aggregate scoreline, where Loic got both first leg goals. Now his tally stands at 48 goals in 38 caps, increasing his lead as record goalscorer for his country.

Tom van der Fish- With Clatworthy ruled out for much of the season with an unfortunate series of injuries, Tom has had a chance to show what he can to in the first team. Making 14 appearances the Northern Ireland international has scored 6 with 1 assist, 1 MoM award and a 7.00 rating. Form which puts him amongst this season’s top scorers for the side sitting in 12th. While he looks to establish himself as a first team regular, Tom is drawing interest from Arsenal and former loanees Newcastle. Tom now has 21 international caps for Northern Ireland, scoring 3 goals.

Arthur White- Now in his 8th season with Newcastle, White has continued the excellent form which has earned him a place in the hearts of fans at St James’ park. Starting 22 games in this campaign White has netted 12 goals, winning 3 MoM awards with a 7.32 rating to help Newcastle achieve their expectations sitting in 6th place. Arthur has been in exceptional form for England recently, helping them qualify for Euro 2016, which included the striker netting all four goals in a 4-0 thrashing of Iceland. He now totals 14 goals in his 17 England caps.

Ben Whitehead- While Roma have been in terrible for in Serie A this season, sitting in 17th place following a terrible run of form, Whitehead has done his part to help the side turn things around. Making 15 starts, Ben has bagged 5 goals, making him the club‘s top scorer this season, 2 assists and 2 MoM awards with a 7.13 rating. Ben has also won his 35th England cap, with 14 goals after helping his country qualify for Euro 2016.

Great update for Brendan with not only first team football but a successful Asian Cup with Australia. Conceding less goals would be nice and would hopefully send PSG into first spot. But that said if we keep up at this rate then we will see Brendan playing in the Champions League next year along with a handful of other conference wonderkids.

Below par? Change of scenery might be needed, are Arsenal sniffing around yet? Real would be good as well, Conference trio up front icon_biggrin.gif
