Goalkeepers

129168__ft_max.JPG Andriy Pyatov He is in no doubt your number one at the age of 27 he has plenty of years of great service to give he joined Shakhtar on 13 December 2006. his stats have gone down since fm12 but in my imo he is the best keeper in the ukraine get him tied down to a nice long contract.

untitled.png[/img]

65293__tlogo.png Anton Kanibolotskiy

131093__max_news.jpg

Arrived in july of this year Anton is 24 years of age and is a decent keeper and a good number 2 for Pyatov i would definitely give him a run out in the cup games to build up some game time he has many good years ahead of him.

untitled2.png[/img]

129167__ft_max.JPG65293__tlogo.png Bogdan Shust Joined FC Shakhtar in January 2006 he is your number 3 he is more than capable of pushing Anton Kanibolotskiy for 2nd spot, he has decent stats and is one of the best Ukrainian keepers in the league so don't let him go even if you have to send him out on loan he is worth keeping for the future.

untitled3.png[/img]

33868__ft_max.jpg65293__tlogo.png Mykyta Shevchenko only 19 years old he has a lot to learn give him the the time he needs to learn and grow, but make sure you keep a eye on his development and acess his progress after each season in real depth to see if he can make the grade.

untitled44.png[/img]

92518__ft_max.jpg65293__tlogo.png Artem Tetenko 21 year old local lad he is a giant standing at 6 ft 4, again stats are not that great he really needs some first team football, so maybe look for a loan to a small club where he can get some game time, keep a eye on him and make sure you see improvements in him.

55555.png[/img]

65293__tlogo.png So in the goalkeeper area i think we are pretty strong and they are more than good enough for the Ukrainian premier league, but when it come to the champions league maybe you might want to think about getting a keeper who is on another level to what we have, i would definitely think about going for a Brazilian or Portuguese goalkeeper.

Our defenders and full backs this is a very important area of our team we really do have some quality in this postion

65293__tlogo.png

Dmytro Chygrynskiy Date of birth 7th November 1986 (age 25) Place of birth Ukraine. On 6 July 2010, the 23-year-old centre-back signed a five-year deal to return to his former club Shakhtar Donetsk for a fee of €15 million, making Shakhtar a profit of €10 million. after spending just one season with the Spanish team, playing just 14 times. IMO he was not given a fair chance to adapt to the Spanish game and the Spanish way of life i strongly believe if he was given another season he would of come good for FC Barcelona

144307__max_news.jpg

A fully fit Dmytro Chygrynskiy is a unmovable unflappable force and a man that can be really trusted on the big occasions he his a leader and should strongly be considered to be your vice captain he can also do a job a right back if needed.

untitled66.png[/img]

65293__tlogo.png Yaroslav Rakitskiy 18 caps for Ukraine and has scored 3 goals he is a product of Shakhtar's academy

144765__max_gal.jpg

Yaroslav Rakitskiy is a formidable center back and at the age of 22 he has a very bright future, he is left footed and can strike a ball with tremendous power so him been a free kick taker could be a option, he should be considered one of the very first names on your team sheet he can play at left back or in a defensive midfield position,

untitled777.png[/img]

65293__tlogo.png Olexandr Kucher 29 years old very experienced he has 30 caps for the Ukraine, he can really be trusted against any oppostion IMO he really does give everthing on the pitch and will put his body on the line

136684__max_news.jpg

untitled888.png[/img]

Olexandr Kucher has at least another 3 good seasons ahead of him before he really does start to fade away so use his experience to teach the youngsters at our club

65293__tlogo.png Serhiy Kryvtsov at only 21 years of age he really is the future of our club and has the ability to really muscle his way into the first team he already has one cap for Ukraine and he will get many more he really is going to be a star with the right teaching and management.

144596__max_news.jpg

Serhiy Kryvtsov stands at 6 foot 1 and can play as a right back center back and defensive midfield position, he Joined Shakhtar on 11 May 2010.

untitledbbb.png[/img]

65293__tlogo.png Răzvan Dincă Raţ a 31 year old Romanian international with 77 caps to his name and one goal he Joined Shakhtar in July 2003 and is a very good attcking left back you often find Răzvan hugging the touchline and giving the team real width with his lung busting runs.

143084__max_gal.jpg

Although Răzvan Rat is in his thirty's he is still a very useful player and i would stay loyal to him and give him a couple more seasons

untitledrat.png[/img]

65293__tlogo.png Vyacheslav Shevchuk he really is enjoying a Indian summer at the age of 33 he is no spring chicken but don't let his age fool you he still has much to offer especially in the Ukrainian premier league, he has 21 caps for the ukraine, he Joined Shakhtar in June 2000

141026__max_news.jpg

He has great physical attributes that help him maintain a good level of performance for the whole 90 minutes i would certainly look to bring in a young left back to learn from Vyacheslav and Razan Rat

untitledshev.png[/img]

129183__ft_max.JPG - My personal favorite player Darijo Srna he is Mr Shakhtar he embodies everything the club is about he is our captain and leader and his will to win and bring success is visible every time he take's to the pitch, he has had huge offers from major clubs but he has remained loyal to the club he loves.

138456__max_gal.jpg

He has 94 caps for Croatia and a staggering 19 goals, he has been a FC Shakhtar Donetsk player since July 2003, he is 30 years of age IMO he can play for another 5 seasons that s just how highly i rate him, While at Shakhtar, Srna frequently buys match tickets for orphans and often finances their travel to the stadium at his own expense, Srna is married to longtime girlfriend Mirela Forić, whom he met through mutual friend footballer Boško Balaban,Their daughter Kasja was born in July 2010.

Our Midfielders

129174__ft_max.JPG65293__tlogo.png Tomas Hübschman our dog of war he is the type of guy you want when your in the trenches, he is 30 years of age and has 20 caps for the Czech Republic, he is a unsung hero for our team and i urge you not to sell him he is very versatile and he is also two footed with IMO is a big plus for a Midfielder.

untitledhubs.png[/img]

Tomas Hübschman joined Shakhtar in July 2004. he can play in Midfield center back and right back. also as a defensive Midfielder

129175__ft_max.JPG65293__tlogo.png Taras Stepanenko 22 years of age he is going to be a real star in the future for the team, he has 4 caps for the Ukraine he will really be changing straight away for a first team start, i really do recommend you train him to be a center back, he has it all to be a really top ball playing central defender

untitledstapanen.png[/img]

129176__ft_max.JPG65293__tlogo.png Fernandinho 27 years of age and at the peak of his powers he only has 5 caps for Brazil, he has excellent stats in FM and IMO he is on of the very best central midfielders in world football he is very underrated in real life.

143095__max_gal.jpg

You should do everything in your power as manager to keep him happy and ward of the many suitors he will have, you should only consider selling if he says to you he wants a new challenge because he has earned the right to do that for all he has done for the club.

untitledfernandin.png[/img]

He joined Shakhtar in 2005 he is a ideal candidate for vice captain many times in FM when ive been up against it he has took control of the game and inspired the team with his driving runs and clever passing he also possess a Hammer of a right foot he his more than capable of rifling in a shot from 40 yards.

129181__ft_max.JPG65293__tlogo.png Henrikh Mkhitaryan 23 year old Armenian international with 15 caps and 2 goals he has been in fine form this year with Jadson leaving he has really stepped up and is scoring goals for fun i recommend playing him in the hole behind the striker.

136002__max_gal.jpg

Consider tranning for his preffered moves IMO should be comes deep to get ball - try killer balls often - Run with Ball through center

untitledmikata.png[/img]

Henrikh Mkhitaryan Joined FC Shakhtar on 30 August 2010.

The Midfield area is a position i would look to strengthen if Fernandinho was to get a bad injury the team would struggle without his presence, so i think it makes sense to tap in to your huge transfer budget to bring in a quality midfield man to add competition to the team.

The flair of the the team Attacking Midfielders and Wingers

willianrunning.jpg[/img]

This is truly were the style and outrageous flair is in the side, players who are capable of real moments of brilliance.

129177__ft_max.JPG65293__tlogo.png Willian Borges da Silva - the real Jewel in the crown i rate him very higly i really do see him winning the FIFA world player of the year award one day, try and make this your goal for him as manager, if you ever do get in a situation where he wants a new challenge im afraid you should let him leave but make sure you get at least 26 million for him. IMO there is only few players that are better than him so you will find it hard to replace him

140338__max_gal.jpg

Willian is 23 years old he has 2 caps for Brazil, he Joined Shakhtar in August 2007.

untitledwillian.png[/img]

Willian can play in any position in the attacking line of three you can even play him as striker and he will score goals, i can't stress enough what a star you have on your hands here

129182__ft_max.JPG65293__tlogo.png Alex Teixeira he is 22 years old and has a very bright future for shakhtar he to can play in any of the attacking midfield positions, he is very skillful and great at dribbling the ball and taking on players he should really be in your first team thoughts,

140327__max_gal.jpg

Alex Teixeira started his career with Vasco da Gama making his debut for the senior team at the age of 18, before moving to Shakhtar in November 2009 for a fee of around €6 million. His debut for Shakhtar came on 20 March 2010. He has been capped at Under-17 and Under-20 level for Brazil.

untitledalextex.png[/img]

He is very versatile and you will get a lot of interests in him as time goes on, but i personally would hold on to Alex for a good few seasons he is a class player in FM and IRL

129180__ft_max.JPG65293__tlogo.png Douglas Costa is 21 years of age and is a real talent if you can get him to focus and listen to your instructions, he has the ability but the question is does he have the mental attributes to for fill his immense talent

144877__max_galdouglascosta.jpg[/img]

On 10 January 2010 Douglas signed a 5 year contract with Shakhtar Donetsk in a deal worth €6 million, You as the manager will have a big part to play in trying to make Douglas one of the worlds best it is possible i have once sold him to Real Madrid for 48 million in a previous save, so its down to you as a manager to keep a your eye on him and keep him working hard for the team.

untitleddouggie.png[/img]

129185__ft_max.JPG65293__tlogo.png Ilsinho Ilson Pereira Dias he is 26 years of age and has one Brazil cap, he will struggle to get near your first team i recommend you train him to become a accomplished right winger.

144040__max_gal.jpg

In August 2010 Ilsinho re-signed for his old club São Paulo, taking the number 77. In September 2011 Ilsinho moved from São Paulo to Internacional RS, Ilsinho rejoined Shakhtar in January 2012 on a three and a half year contract,[2] accepting a much lower salary than his previous one with the club.[3] He was assigned the number 77, i think if you get a good offer for him you should consider selling him IMO, but i still think he can offer something to the team so don't let me sway you, i have not forgave him for leaving us the first time round

ilsinho.png[/img]

Ilshino can play right back central midfield the right of midfield and as a right winger.

65293__tlogo.png Alan Patrick is 21 years old he arrived from Santos in June 2011 he has rarely been seen in the first team but he looks very exciting and you should try and give him a taste of first team action when you can but give him a season of playing for your reserve team to help him get to grips with been in a new country with the odd first team appearance here and there.

132578__max_galalanpatrick.jpg[/img]

Alan Patrick is a natural attacking central midfield player he can also play on the left wing.

129221__ft_max.JPG Marko Dević is 28 years old he is our new signing from Metalist he has plenty of UPL experience so he understands the league and will have no problem settling in.

138528__max_galdevic.jpg[/img]

Marko Dević was born in Belgrade Serbia but In June 2008 the then 24-year old Dević became a naturalized Ukrainian citizen he now has 22 caps and 3 goals, he is a very versatile player and a very useful player to have on the books he is a natural right winger but he can easily play as your main striker as well as on the left wing and and in the hole behind the striker.

At the age of 28 Marko Dević is really in his prime so i would take advantage while he is at this age and try to give him games, see how he gets on in your first season if he doesn't fit in look to sell him for the sake of his international future its in our interest that Ukraine do well it will bring a feel good factor to the league and is good for our reputation.

Our strikers i personally like our forwards i think we have a good blend.

129186__ft_max.JPG65293__tlogo.png Luiz Adriano our number nine he is 25 years old has never been capped for Brazil, his stats on FM don't look that good, but don't let that fool you i would not sell him trust in him he really does posses blistering pace and that really does help him get goals.

143531__luizadriano.jpg[/img]

Luiz Adriano has been at Shakhtar since March 2007. i know quite a lot of you will want to bring in a big money forward but i urge you give him at least a season he wont let you down, he is capable of missing some easy chances but he is also capable of unlocking the hardest defense with is pace, train him to beat the offside trap that will help his game a lot.

129187__ft_max.JPG65293__tlogo.png Eduardo Da Silva at 29 years of age he is at the peak of his powers he is a natural finisher a true marksman that takes pride in hitting the target with nearly every shot, there are very few players in world football that has the ability he has when it comes to pure finishing, i really do compare him to other marksmen like Huntelaar he is just as good.

145891__max_gal.jpg

Eduardo has 50 caps for Croatia scoring 23 goals, the big problem with Eduardo in my mind and why he is behind Luiz Adriano are his fitness problems and getting him a run of games, he is injury prone so that will be your challenge to get the best out of his immense talent, Eduardo can also play on the left wing and with a bit of training he can play on the right.

Eduardo joined Shakhtar in July 2010.

129190__ft_max.JPG65293__tlogo.png Dentinho is 23 years of age he is a very versatile player, he is just as at home playing on either wing as well as his natural position as striker, he is a very skillful player and is brilliant at dribbling and taking on players.

144258__max_gal.jpg

Dentinho Joined FC Shakhtar in May 2011, i personally would have him pushing Willian for his place on the left wing or when you rest Willian give Dentinho his spot and see how he does.

So we are fairy strong in this area even though its a matter of opinion you may want to bring in someone, but i would give the strikers you have a season to prove there value, i really believe that continuity brings success and these players know each other well and a understanding on the pitch, so really use your money wisely, bring in good young players for the future there are some great young players in Brazil and signing brazilian players is part of what this club is about, it is Rinat Akhmetov vision he wants to see great football and we must bring that to him, Mr Akhmetov has spent a fortune in providing us with all these marvelous facilities we owe him a lot so lets play our part by bringing success and style to our club.

65293__tlogo.png In this section im going to discuss the fringe players of our team.

129178__ft_max.JPG65293__tlogo.png Vasyl Kobin 27 years old with 11 caps for ukraine. He is a decent utility player, he is not very popular with Mr Mircea Lucescu he often threatens to sell him and really lays into his performances, but i really do think-he does that to try and get the best out of him some players need that others need a arm round the shoulder and others need a good dressing down. i am really undecided if i will keep him he could find him self been loaned out then ill make a decision on him next seasons, Vasyl joined Shakhtar in 2006.

22467__ft_max.jpg65293__tlogo.png Olexiy Polyanskiy is 26 years old he has been At Shakhtar since December 2006 (with intervals) he has played for the Ukraine at U21 level, he has just returned to us after 3 seasons out on loan he has gained some good experience by playing first team football, but he will struggle to get near our first team there are a lot of players ahead of him, and at the age of 26 i think it might be in his interest to find a new club permanently IMO. Olexiy is a natural central defender he can also play in midfield.

129179__ft_max.JPG65293__tlogo.png Olexiy Gai is 29 years of age he has 29 caps for the Ukraine with 1 goal to his name, he is very experienced he has been at Shakhtar since June 2000, Olexiy in his earlier days for Shakhtar was a very important player he is a tough tackling taking no prisoners kind of guy a good old fashioned enforcer, but over the past couple of seasons we have seen a lot less of him, he can play at left back but i do believe his time is coming to a end with us but make sure you treat him with the respect he deserves if you do let him go, i know if i sell him it will be with a heavy heart.

59868__ft_max.jpg65293__tlogo.png Bruno Renan is a 21 year old Brazilian midfielder, he Joined FC Shakhtar on 31 August 2010, but has really struggled to make any impact he was sent out on loan when he first arrived and last season he spent the whole year playing for the 2nd team. I reckon given a run of games and you giving him some encouragement he could do a job, but the temptation is to use our huge spending power and bring in a ready made midfielder who you don't have to put the time in with, it really does depend on what kind of a manager you are, i personally will loan Bruno out to a team where he will play every game and to show him i care, i will send one of my scouts out to watch his every game so he knows he is not forgotten.

In this section we will look at players who are out on loan that will be returning soon

22472__ft_max.jpg65293__tlogo.png Oleksandr Chyzhov is 25 years old and is on loan at Illichivets for the season, he is unlucky to find himself out on loan he just needs to play some games when he was at Shakhtar he was always picking up injuries, Oleksandr is a center back and a solid one at that he can play in midfield as well, he is definitely a player who will play a part in your future team, in my mind he is a replacement for when Kucher gets a bit over the hill, so make sure you tie him down with a long contract, Oleksandr Chyzhov joined Shakhtar in 2008.

110698.jpg65293__tlogo.png Mykola Ischenko is 29 years of age he has one cap for the Ukraine he is a very competent defender he to is on loan at Illichivets, i like Mykola a lot but its hard to fit him in the team when he returns, i would have no problem with trusting him in the team if we had a lot of injuries so i would definitely keep him around for a least another 3 seasons. Mykola Ischenko can play at left back and as a sweeper but he is a natural center back, Mykola joined Shakhtar in 2008

109293__max_news.jpg65293__tlogo.png David Targamadze is 23 years old he has 4 caps for Georgia, i would compare him to a young Georgi Kinkladze very skillful player,On 30 December 2011, Shaktar Donetsk officially announced Targamadze's capture, he was Immediately loaned out to Illichivets, keep a eye on Davids progress he has the ability to make it at Shakhtar he can play on either wing and with a bit of training he can play as a central attacking midfielder.

136284__max_news.jpg65293__tlogo.png Maicon Pereira de Oliveira is a 24 year old uncapped Brazilian. In the summer of 2012, Maicon joined Shakhtar Donetsk on a free transfer. He signed a three year contract. On 4 September it was announced that Maicon would join Zorya on loan for six months before joining up with Shakhtar again during the winter break. Maicon is a decent striker for the UPL he is two footed so that makes him a good finisher he scored 29 goals in 57 apps for Zorya so he has the ability, IMO he will find it hard to break into our side when he returns we have to many players ahead of him. Maicon can also play as a right winger so he might get more joy pushing for a starting place in that position.

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRCAyabBb_siXBPL4IyGHEh4JTW0FpiX7TtZqG-cigsyBMxzgRQmg65293__tlogo.png Bohdan Butko is 21 years of age and already has 11 caps for the Ukraine, he to is on loan at FC Illichivets, this young man could be the Heir to Darijo Srna's throne with the right man management and guidance, he is a very exciting attacking full back train him to be like Darijo and he could be your in house replacement for when the legendary Darijo Srna's retires. Bohdan can also play at center back.

Butko was born in Kostyantynivka, in the Donetsk Oblast and went to the youth academy of his local club Shakhtar Donetsk. Upon completion of the school, Butko was promoted first to Shakhtar-3 Donetsk of the Ukrainian Second League, followed by the Shakhtar reserves, where he would spend three seasons.

I would recomend sending him after is loan spell with Illichivets to a team abroad. Vitaliy Vitsenets Is a product of the Shakhtar academy.

116741__max_news.jpg65293__tlogo.png Leonardo Jose Aparecida Moura is a 26 year old Brazilian who currently plays for Atlético Goianiense on loan, Leonardo signed for Shakhtar Donetsk in July 2005, he has failed to make any impact and has been sent out on loan on many occasions, he is a natural DC. IMO he stands no chance of ever getting near the first team look to get rid of him permanently.

65293__tlogo.png And now lets talk about tactics and how to make our fans and Mr Rinat Akhmetov happy with a exciting brand of football.

renatakmentov.jpg[/img]

We must not let Rinat Akhmetov down he comes to nearly all our home games if you want to play defensive negative football your at the wrong club

134853__max_galfansyeah.jpg[/img]

And never forget these people the fans who pay there hard earned money to come to the Donbass Arena, you have a duty to them to entertain and make then happy and go home with a smile on there face, never lose sight of this we do it for them.

Right this is the way Shakhtar tradionally line up under Mircea Lucescu he plays a 4 2 3 1 formations with full backs that hug the touchline and look to overlap the wingers.

untitledDMXFORMATION1-1.jpg[/img]

In games were the oppositions is strong i would go with my CM'S as DMC'S as seen below.

untitleddmxformat2222-1.jpg[/img]

Some tips for these formations have both Full backs hugging the touchline train them to get forward whenever possible, also train them to switch the ball to the other flank, it is really exciting when i see Darijo Srna hitting a 40 yard pass to Răzvan Raţ on the other side of the pitch it really does open the game up. also in matches use the shout look for overlap this will encourage Darijo and Răzvan to get forward more. another tip because Darijo Srna and Răzvan Rat are so attacking i would set both my center backs wide play to move into channels to cover them when they go forward.

As for team instructions and player instructions i always no matter who im playing against go out to attack and play fluid football i believe in my players and if we lose we do so on our principles, as for my player instructions i encourage every man to press the opposition so all there closing down is set very high.

Im not going to list transfer targets it would be nice to see who you guys go for and im sure we can discuss the pro's and cons of your signings.

Looking even better now the thread. Got a £49m budget so far. Signings who I have planned out are Ettien Capoue for £13m, Taison of Metalist for £17m, (he is Brazlian and that has a factor as Shakhtar love their flair attacking Brazilian players). Also for the future he is a must look at, Victor Andrade of Santos, only 16, already played for their first team irl but looks a frigthening prospect on this game as well, I would advise you approach him so he can join in 2013. Yes the Brazlian league needs to be laoded though.

Another tough one was whether to rinse out my budget and buy another striker, but I thought why not, although I will play with the 1 striker I decided to go for Emineke of Spartak for £17m. Has all attributes for a striker which I look for but competition will be quite big with Adriano and Eduardo. What do people reckon about the striker situation?

Taison would be a good signing, when Willian does leave Shakhtar he is meant to be the man who they will replace him with rumor has it, Emineke is a very good striker very explosive very similar to Luiz Adriano so i reckon 17 million is a lot to pay when you already have some one similar. nice tip on Victor Andrade just had a look at him he looks like a star in the making. check out Roman Bezus from Vorskla Poltava he is Ukrainian and has bags of ability

Saw Taison's goal in midweek against Dnipro and thought WOW, so decided to look at him in this and thought he looked brilliant and being Brazilian helped. Also, Emineke is a tough one, £17m does seems a lot but Eduardo's pace and acceleration has been severley reduced and is injury prone. Adriano has pace which I like in a striker and a good work rate which may prove well but has a finishing attribute of 9 whereas Emineke has a finishing rating of 17. Emineke also has brilliant strength to go along with his pace so I think he would be a real handful. Maicon looks a good player though. Unsure whether to gamble on Emineke, need to think about that one

Bezus does look very promising, versatile and can pretty much do everything. Regarding Andrade, at 16 years old my scout believes he will be a good player, now that is a huge compliment, he looks like he can turn out to be one of the best players in the game. Also confused as to why Rat is put in the reserves. He is quality and will no doubt be my first choice LB

They have messed up with a few players been in the reserves it has been raised in the data issues forum though. the striker situation i would give our guys a chance till January if they don't get the goals then i would sanction a big money move for a striker i like Leandro Damião but he might cost a fortune, so Emenike looks like a good choice.

Cheers mate. and your spot on with the UPL it is really becoming a great league there is now a big four with the like's of Dnipro and Metalist especially Metalist they have some fantastic players, i cant recommend it enough for people who want to try something new on FM.

I have a question regarding the long term game, I am having a bit of trouble getting into an Aston Villa one at the moment so I am looking for a game to play along with it and was wondering if the league is good enough for a long term challenge?

its definitely is good enough for a long term save, it is completely different to the EPL in terms of rules and stuff you can only field 7 non Ukrainian players. i would really recommend you giving it a try.

I'm just going into my second season with Shakhtar. 1st season did the league and cup double. I signed Wellington Nem for 3.5m, Kara 3.5m.

Two decent ukrainians i also signed were Sobol 4m and Bezus 10m. Eduardo declining quickly so 2nd season signed Lacina Traore for 20m!

When im half way through my season ill post up my results, things are a bit up and down for me at the moment, ive made two signings so for Douglas Santos and Mateo Kovacic they have both struggled to get in my team ive put Douglas Santos in the reserves for a bit he cant get a look in at the moment Rat is my number one left back and Shevchuk is my number 2.

Having struggled with this years FM and various saves going to the wall mainly due to frustrations with the ME/tactics I've decided to go with Shakhtar. The reasoning is, they're the best in the league and if things go wrong it's most likely my tactics rather than the players and I can figure out from there. There is also the massive challenge of making them a European giant.

So I've gone with a 4-1(DM)-1(CM)-3(AMR/C/L)-1 formation that is fluid and attacking.

Ilsinho has gone after a big offer from Lille and a few other minor players have headed out on loan. I've been very unimpressed with the DoF and will look to upgrade in that area. He's failed to land all my targets despite them all being gettable. I know they're gettable because I've subsequently gone and got them, rather defeating the object of the DoF.

I've signed Raul Albiol for £6.25m with a view to playing him alongside Chygrynski and Rakitskiy at LB. I've also signed Kevin Strootman for £14m, he'll provide a strong rotation option for Fernandinho. That said I wish I'd known about the foreign player regs before starting the save, might be a nice touch to add them into the OP.

This is how my 1st XI looks so far:

GK(sweeper keeper support): Pyatov

DR(wingback attack): Srna

DC(stopper): Chygrynski

DC(cover): Albiol

DL(full back support): Rakitskyi

DMC(anchor man): Stepanenko

MC(adv playmaker attack): Fernandinho

AMR(inside fwd support): Douglas Costa

AMC(attacking mid attack): Willian

AML(inside fwd attack) Devic

ST(deep lying forward support) Eduardo

I've also got a 3-5-2 tactic for certain games that allows Eduardo and Luiz Adriano to play together but it restricts the ability to use Costa/Willian etc.

More to update when I get a chance to play this week.

How has it worked out for you and what sort of team instructions do you have?

I play a deep 4 2 3 1 very much as they do in real life i use control style and also switch to counter style with a balanced philosophy i don't change any of the sliders.

Loving my Shakhtar save so far

Thought it would be a good game to get a grip of the tactic side of the game and move on but i'm developing an obsession for the club

First season signings :No plans for a major first team overhaul ,just back up and potential

Nem £3.5m

Ademilson £5.25m

Stanicu £3.6m

Adryan £875k

Kvekveskiri £700k

Barvinko £6.5m px Gai (Great young Ukraine LB ,potential successor to Rat )

Andrievskyi £4.4m

Bezus £7.5m

Tymoshuck £100k (High wage never plays, didn't need him but couldn't resist)

Out went :

Kucher £4.4m

Adriano £3.9m

Hubschman £2.9m

Leonardo £1m

Kobin £1m

Gai px Barvinko

Ilsinho £3.8m

Played 4231

GK Pyatov

RB Srna - 13 assists

LB Rat - 11 assists

CB Chygryniski

CB Rakitskyi

DM Fernandinho / Stepanenko

CM Mkhitaryan / Bezus

AMR Devic / Costa 12 goals/13 assists

AML Teixeira - 22 goals/17 assists and surpsrise of season for me

AMC Willian - 14 goals/10 assists

ST Eduardo -23 goals/9 assists

Love watching the fullbacks Srna and Rat bombing forward

The pace and dribbling of Teixeira and Willian

Costa hitting the corner flag or the roof of the stand!

A 2-4 Beating by Dynamo placed me second in the table missing out by just one point

Won the Cup beating Metalist 3-1

Surprised myself by beating PSG , Bayern Munich amongst others on the way to the Champions League Semi, eventually losing 2-4 on agg to dominant Man City

Plans for the coming season:

Play a settled tactic, spent most of last season learning and changing

Win the league comfortably,

Get more from Mkhitaryan just 4 goals and 4 assists

More goals from Willian

Replace Eduardo, good return of goals but need someone bigger and stronger to challenge for high balls into the box.

Need to persuade a transfer listed at £34m Damiao to join. Got £50m to spend , praised him loads ,many bids accepted but he just isn't interested. I'm desperate!

Any ideas how to get him ?

Jelavic at £20m is my other option seems perfect for a creative deep lying forward with a bit of height/strength

Will keep you updated

i have been playing with Dynamo Kyiv for the past 24 hours and Shaktar Donestk are unreal in that league. So hard to get off the top. Makes it worse that Yarmolenko refused to sign a new contract with me and has signed a pre contract agreement with Valencia. Considering you need atleast 4 Ukranian starters in league games i think i might have messed up with this as he is most probably the best Ukranian on the game.

Dont want to change the thread into about Dynamo Kyiv but is there any good Ukranian youngsters people would recomend for me to look out for?

Decided to start a game with Shakhtar one of my favourite teams from past FM's, I had a PSG save going as for once I wanted to go a team who could spend big, but with not being on fm for the past 2 months couldn't get back into it. So I've gone with Shakhtar as I think its tougher than PSG (maybe not in terms of winning the league) in terms of attracting players etc, anyway am going to try and just do what Shakhtar normally do and buy Ukrainian's and Brazilian's.

PSG are sniffing round Mkhitaryan and I don't want to lose him so said £80m to PSG, Mkhitaryan then said he wanted to leave, ive just had to say I will win the Champions league in the next 2 years to keep him happy :(

Does anyone think Mhkitaryan's attributes and favoured positions are quite badly wrong? In real life he seems to be an attacking goal poacher from midfield (ie Lampard but more attacking), but on FM his natural position is CM with deep lying playmaker, which he is definitely not. In my opinion he should be a natural AM with much better finishing & off the ball attributes.

It's just a bit frustrating, I tried to train him to AM and improve his finishing but after a couple of seasons it didn't make much difference. Just wasn't worth when you can use players who are better attacking midfielders on FM, but not in real life as Mhkitaryan's a goal machine!

The latest update he is accomplished in the AM position and his off the ball attributes are around 16/17. He has definitely improved in the latest update but I think they should swap around his natural position CM with AM and instead have CM as an accomplished position whereas AM should be natural.
