Central Mediterranean Socialist Republic

I, Matthew Beale, the manager of the international football team and the minister for sport do welcome you to our wonderful country. We are very grateful to our great patrons for giving us such a wonderful country with such a rich culture. Our goal in the Central Mediterranean Socialist Republic is to promote football at all levels and show the capitalist economies that football can be equally as good in a Socialist country.

If you ever find yourself lost you can always consult the map that has been drawn up for us showing the outline of the islands.

To one and one, I wish you a happy time here.

Sports Minister,

Matthew Beale

The Goal:

The goals is to be the first club to win the Champions League, this is a tough ask of a football club in a country with a well established footballing background and should take a good few years to complete. I will also be keeping track of the teams that manage to win the Superleague and which teams get furthest in European competition.

Updates:

Updates will be done every 6 months, 1st January and 1st June. The January update will just show how the teams are getting on in the league and how the national team is getting on. The June update will show indepth club analysis, transfers, facilities and the squad.

Want to be part of the full edit?

Missed your chance to be part of this challenge? You can still part part of the edit! Just sign up here!

I will make this all look very pretty in the future. I will be doing updates every half season, 1st January and 1st June, so you can see how your clubs are getting along. Each update will consist of a screenshot of the following: the squad, the club information, and any other screenshot I feel appropriate.

In order to keep me entertained I will be playing as the manager of the national team. I will be an ex-international footballer would has both English and Mediterranean Socialist blood in me.

Season 1 January Update

Superleague

29.jpg

Alonso Athletic are under performing, currently sitting 4 places lower than they should be, on the other hand Fatman FC are sitting 7 places higher than they should be. In the end of season update I will show all of the transfers of the club and the squad.

Manager of the Month

Gaelius di Costa has shown himself as a good manager winning the manager of the month award twice.

Proleague

30.jpg

Socilista Deportes Club Sandinista are currently sitting a massive 12 places below where they should be, due to this Juan Strummerio was sacked as well as his assistant. Atletico Tone Clifton on the other hand are 9 places above there predicted position.

Manger of the Month

Antionio Hebberto seems to be the manager of the moment in the Proleague with two awards to his name.

Other news

Republic Cup Tree

It's getting nice and close in the cup, with some upset are coming through the rounds.

Finances

As you can see the balances haven't changed much, in the first few seasons the values go down as the clubs are buying players to improve there squads.

International Fixtures

The national team is now ranked 179th in the world, we also managed our first win against Luxembourg which was very impressive!

do we play 22 games?

you should have done a mid season split and done 5x2(10 games) vs your group. then had 32 games.

Just a thought if 22 seems a little short. or done the Scottish system of 3 times then split for 38 games

I have always been someone who thinks the Premiership season is too long, especially if a team is going for a domestic triple and playing in Europe. You are taking about 50-60 games there which is a lot in a year.

Season 1 June Update: Super League

League Table

36.jpg

Alonso Athletic

Squad

Alonso Athletic have certainly invested heavily in Brazilians, with 11 of them in the squad. The squad is slightly younger than the league average, slightly taller and slightly heavier than the average, they are also on under half of the average wage of the league. This is very impressive for a club who managed to finish one place above the expectation.

Facilities

Not really much to note here as nothing can be improved within the year.

Club information

The club value has shot up by £5m, it is now worth over double what it was at the start of the game.

Transfers

Those of you who have read the January update will know that Alonso Athletic where in 11th spot but managed to club 5 places and finish the season in 6th, this is why, they brought in 13 players in the January transfer window which defiantly seemed to help the club!

Boreham Badgers

Squad

Another club with a big Brazilian flair, not very expensive players and this might have cost them dearly as they see next season in the second tier of Socialist football.

Facilities

Not really much to note here as nothing can be improved within the year.

Club information

The value has increased by £3m, not a bad gain but I think they might be looking to spend a big chunk next season in order to get back into the top flight.

Transfers

The one big spend they made, £60k in Altemar looks like a good deal but relying too heavily on the free transfer market might have cost them dearly.

Club Futebolistico del Mare

Squad

I club who has kept a surprising amount of Socialist Republic players, this seems to have been rewarded in a good league position, however will they be strong enough to be able to cope with the next season?

Facilities

Not really much to note here as nothing can be improved within the year.

Club information

Down £2m but still very well off, they are in a good position to fight for the title next season.

Transfers

Only one major transfer, a youth from Sweden, it will take time to see if this was a good investment or not.

Fatman FC

Squad

A club with an African flair is probably the best way to describe Fatman FC, they seem like a good consistent team which is good. They massively over performed this season but can they keep it up next year?

Facilities

Not really much to note here as nothing can be improved within the year.

Club information

Club value has increased 5 fold, this is the biggest percentage increase of any club which is impressive!

Transfers

One of the only clubs to make a profit on transfers, however there hand was forced by having no money in the bank at the season start.

FC Real Clifton

Squad

Another heavily Brazilian based club, a fairly expensive squad as well hopefully they can improve next season and get a spot in Europe.

Facilities

Not really much to note here as nothing can be improved within the year.

Club information

Value increased by a little, they finished exactly where predicted as well.

Transfers

They sold no players but brought it truck loads, 6 of them on loan from France.

Flambianto

Squad

Keeping many of the local players, they only just escaped relegation after sitting at the bottom of the table for about a third of the season.

Facilities

Not really much to note here as nothing can be improved within the year.

Club information

A £3.5m increase in value and they also managed to hit there target of 10th.

Transfers

The largest investment looks like a bit of an overspend but he could yet prove me wrong, they brought in many of the local players being off loaded by other clubs.

Garciona

Squad

A European midfield surrounded by Brazilians is probably the best way to describe the squad, this wasn't enough to see the club stay in the top tier as next season they can look forward to football in the second tier.

Facilities

Not really much to note here as nothing can be improved within the year.

Club information

Value down by £2.5m, not much though. They finished slightly lower than expected but not by much.

Transfers

Big spending didn't get the anywhere.

K.S. Fourth International 1938

Squad

A squad of Brazilians scattered with Italians and French.

Facilities

Not really much to note here as nothing can be improved within the year.

Club information

Up by £2.5m, seriously underachieved though. They will be hoping to do better next season.

Transfers

The big spend could prove to be good, however he could also be a dud.

Mesilovi

Squad

A very varied squad but it seemed to work quite well, getting them to 3rd overall.

Facilities

Not really much to note here as nothing can be improved within the year.

Club information

A small value increase, but they did finish 5 places higher than there prediction.

Transfers

Not a huge amount spent and a lot of free transfers.

Protanie

Squad

Another varied squad, this time a lot less successful, finishing 8th overall.

Facilities

Not really much to note here as nothing can be improved within the year.

Club information

A £5m decrease in value and finished 6 places below the expectation, not a good season for Protanie.

Transfers

None outgoing and plenty coming in.

Remal Medri

Squad

Another largely Brazilian squad.

Facilities

Not really much to note here as nothing can be improved within the year.

Club information

A £4m increase in value, winning the league and finishing 5 places higher than expected. My tip is bet on Remal for next season!

Transfers

Roughly even transfer spend, more coming in than leaving though.

The Invincibles

Squad

A foreign defence with a local attack, fairly young as well.

Facilities

Not really much to note here as nothing can be improved within the year.

Club information

Value up nearly 4 fold, slightly disappointing by not meeting there expectations though.

Transfers

No real big money transfers, a lot more in than out.

Major Transfers

Major Transfers

FC Santa Clausoma spent big getting Barcelon's Martin Montoya, but as you can see it was a very busy season for transfers, with many going in and out.

Maletia

Squad

It seems a good squad but the stand out player has to be Rayan, valued at £2.3m, released from Campinense he made 31 appearances scoring 3, 5 assists and 5 man of the match awards. Maletia were predicted to finish 9th but finished in the playoffs in 4th. They then one the playoffs and shall be playing football in the top tier next season. Will Rayan be able to help them stay up or not?

Just show game detail.

Things like league/cup history and team/player stats. As the clubs will be running themselves over detail means nothing. For transfers I would just show history from the league section which displays the top 30ish.

Then maybe review European progress. That should keep images down to 10-20 images per season.

Then maybe do a 10 season review in more detail. I do this in my 9 wonders sign up. Post seasonal minor detail then every 5 years post player screen shots. Trying to review every team every season is way to much to do. Maybe even select the over and under achievers and give them a mention for a good season.

Quite surprised that my top level team (CF del Mare) missed the title, even if only by 1 point. I invested heavily in club reputation and expected it'd be a huge boost because we'd attract better players. Looking at the other teams reputations we had a massive difference, I even almost came in to tell you to change it as I thought it'd be unfair and wouldn't make for a level-playing field...

Same for my level 2 team (Union Univ) which did even worse, I'm amazed at that 7th place.

The really strange thing is that the result this time is completely different to the results I have had in the 4 other tests I have done..

Flamers

I think this is so random it will take 4-5 years for the elite to become apparent. As for Fourth International we will just bribe our way to the top
