-Shakes-
Yep, definitely something a bit strange there, although the winner is often from Spain isn't it most seasons?
Wen Jie
Do most of you managed in England only? I am suspecting the dominance of Spanish players in those awards are caused by the inflated player ratings of background leagues.
outtasync
I manage in Italy and I've got England, Spain, and Italy playable from 2nd division, Germany, France, Holland, Portugal, Brazil and Argentina from 1st division.
KingKenny
IRL the last time it went to a non-Spain based player was in 2000, Zidane at Juve, who promptly got bought by Real Madrid. And the last time it went to a player who never played in Spain was in 1995 (Weah). I think in-game player reputation plays a massive part in the award, and what we're seeing is a reflection of real life where two Spanish clubs have a massively disproportionate amount of the world's highest profile players. Ronaldo won it with us (United) before he played in Spain It is usually a player from Barca or Real though.

Elmo
Its always the way. I guess its because the award favours attackers, and the spanish league is more suited to attacking freedom.

bigdunk
Simple facts are, the 3 best players in the world at the moment play for Real and Barca (Messi, Kaka and Ronaldo). Plus they're all reasonably young. It's not unsurprising that they will all feature highly in this type of award.

Ty
I'm sure you would be more annoyed if the world football of the year come up like this.. 1st. Darren Bent 2nd. Patrick Viera 3rd. Breno
Wayne\'o
i havnt go ta clue why Ibrahimovic wins it so many times. if stats does what they say on the tin. his low teamwork and workrate backed up by low determination makes him a lazy git so how on earth he manages to play well at such a top level amazes me if i signed players of that magnitude id prob get sacked. outtasync
Just wanted to point out it's been long time since we've had a new world beater. Surely by 2015 we'd have the next Ronaldo or Messi, if not in the game then in real life!
