  1. Are there really situations where you would have to pay £100m for a player in the game?
  2. I have never paid £100m for a player but in the right circumstances I definitely would. I've come to learn in the last few FMs that if you want top top quality you have to pay. I like to build up a squad from within, youth academy and young signings, but even as you reach top youth and training facilities and 30 scouts it's difficult to get the best for your roles. If I spot a world class player who is also great in the right areas for my formation and player roles (and clearly better suited than what I got), I will consider going for him. But he would have to be young enough (24-25 top
  3. Its not 1.29m its negative 1.29m. And then you have to pay 1,3m which basically evens it out. So he's gonna cost you (1,3m-1,29m), not (1,3m+1,29m). The numbers are rounded so the total is 16,5k as it says.
  4. Not exactly hidden, but I really like the optional contract extension clause when negotiating contracts.
  5. Really? I would consider the Possesion based Barca-style a really slow tempo style. Furthermore the "retain possesion"-shout creates a notably slower-tempoed tactic in the game, while the "get ball forward" ups the tempo from the default. Anyone remember Spain from the European Championships in 2012? Can't get slower than that.
  6. No, none of them are injured. My "old" CB can tutor other players, while my "young" CB can be tutored by other players. Been like this for 18 months now. And to clarify; both are natural in the centreback position. It's weird that i can ask the 26 y/o CB to tutor players with whom he shares no positions whatsoever (not even unconvincing/awkward), like my young ST/AMC, but not a player who's basically a young himself.

  8. And it always feels like they happen at the worst possible time. I mean, they never happen when you've just lost at home to your rivals and such. Although, I can't blame anyone but me here. I cannot fathom why I didn't save after that youth intake.
  9. Yeah, every youth player coming through the ranks will be compare to the club legend Les Jennings, the man noone has seen, but everyone talks about in the same sentence with Pele and Maradona. His legacy will haunt the halls of Crewe Stadium (Les Jennings Arena).
  10. It's a chilly night in Crewe, March 13th 2023. The high-flying local football team Crewe Alexandra is out on the training field finetuning their tactics before the visit of Olympique de Marseille for the second leg of the Champions League first knockout round. The first leg in sunny Marseille ended in a iconic 5-0 victory for the Railwaymen and the atmosphere at the training ground just outside the brand new Crewe Stadium is relaxed and cheerful. Manager and club legend begilsson is standing on the sidelines with a note in his hand and a grin on his face. The note is from the club's Head of Yo
  11. Maybe this could be a good thread to ask this: I have a 16 y/o central defender, national rep, hot prospect. I want to use my 25 y/o central defender, worldwide rep, indispensable, as his tutor, but the 16 y/o doesn't show up on the list of tutees. None of them are learning moves. What am I missing?

  13. Why is it still in the game? I just got a one match ban for calmly pointing out that a wrongfully disallowed goal should've stood. Come on, he was five yards onside, surely it wasn't a controversial statement? And the news article says "replays did seem to indicate the referee made the correct decision." What? The replays indicated that the referee without a shadow of a doubt made an absolutely terribly wrong decision. And to make matters worse my world class assistant does absolutely nothing during the served game. No substitutions, no tactical changes whatsoever. This feature is clearly b
  14. Ha, you should try to sell him for more and shove it in his face. But seriously, players make transfer request for just about any concern. I just got a transfer request for not fullfilling my promise to give my keeper a chance in the first team even though he has started 8 of 8 games after I promised it. I usually just reject the request if the concerns are easily fixed like in your case, and they become happy in no time (too happy, too fast if you ask me).
  15. I just don't understand how players and their agent know exactly what your wage budget is, how much you have available and how much you're spending. I mean, the less you are able to offer in wages the less they are demanding. Even when you change you're wage budget MID-NEGOTIATION they change their demands accordingly. Say you can offer a maximum of £20000 and the agent are demanding £50000. There's know way you can get him to accept even when maxing clauses, so you change your budget structure and can now offer £35000. Suddenly you're not that far apart and a deal seems plausible, only for t
  16. Try Lyn in the Norwegian second division! Lyn are one of the oldest Norwegian clubs, among the clubs that started the Norwegian football association and finished third place in the Norwegian Premier Division (Tippeligaen) as recently as 2005. They went bankrupt in 2010 and got relegated to the fourth division (actually their reserve team was promoted form the sixth division to fourth and became their first team or something like that) and have since worked their way up to the second division in consecutive promotions. They also still have a pretty big fanbase, at least for a second division
  17. Yeah it will work great for a laptop. And the 3d is just a gimmick, so that shouldn't be a problem,
  18. Yeah, you have to be careful about the attributes of a ballwinning midfielder.
  19. Don't know if it's the right place to post as it not that low, but I'm playing with Crewe Alexandra and I finally got promoted third season and placed safely mid-table fourth season. Thing is I started with Crewe as they are somewhat low in the league system, but still got great training facilitys and a decent bankroll. Now my facilities are downgraded and my bankroll well in the red. I've exceeded anyones expectations challenging for promotion the first two seasons and then getting a weell earned promotion the third, and then having a great Championship debut finishing midtable. But I'm lea
  20. Yeah, was just about to start a new topic about sponsorship. I was, as Crewe bottom of the sponsorship table in league 1 at a measly 50k a year, Got promoted and did well in the Championship and couldn't wait for my sponsoship deal to expire as I need some money. 90k. An up-and-coming Championship side signing a £90k a year main kit sponsor can't be right, can it?
  21. Yep, I'm using a 2010 Macbook pro and it runs just fine considering the hardware. Don't worry.
