  1. If we were to go for actual realism, then the game would not display any values for any player whatsoever. In real life a manager doesn't have access to a list of players and their associated values. He just has to base his bid on what he thinks the player is worth to him and his club. And in fact, there is no such thing as an objective value for a player..... a player is valued at what someone is prepared to pay for him.
  2. Found it! Mr Useless, send me a private message with your address and I'll try to pop it into the post tomorrow. (I'm off sick today....too sick for work, but not too sick for FM )

  4. Hey Mr Useless, What a great story! A truly heart-warming way to start the day. I have the FM05 game somewhere and I never actually played it because there was an admin rights issue on the computer I had at the time. If I can find the game I'll quite happily send it to you - it's practically brand new, but I can't see myself ever playing it. I'll have a hunt and get back to you.....

  6. I'm pretty sure I read a post from someone at SI who inferred that individual instructions are set relative to a player's PPM (if the instruction has a corresponding PPM). So, if you set Long Shots to rarely for 2 separate players it doesn't necessarily mean that they both now have the same likelihood of attempting long shots. Instead it sets the likelihood to the lowest part of the player's range, which means a player with a long shot PPM would still be more likely to try one than a player without the PPM.
  7. Without knowing the ins and outs of your game(s) if you only experience this problem with Marseille but not other sides then this indicates the game is not fundamentally flawed. It would be fundamentally flawed if it happened to all of the sides you managed. The problems you are experiencing must be caused by something (or many things) relating specifically to your Marseille save. I'm not trying to be fan-boy or anything, just applying a bit of logic to your situation.
  8. IRL the last time it went to a non-Spain based player was in 2000, Zidane at Juve, who promptly got bought by Real Madrid. And the last time it went to a player who never played in Spain was in 1995 (Weah). I think in-game player reputation plays a massive part in the award, and what we're seeing is a reflection of real life where two Spanish clubs have a massively disproportionate amount of the world's highest profile players.
  9. How do you dump it into Excel? I've always wanted to do something like this but can't bear the pain of individually typing in hundreds of values
  10. He actually meant "bar" as in "except for".
  11. What did Ajax do in real life after winning the Champions League? Sell their best players and replace with inferior quality. Granted they got good money for the players but it's not as unrealistic as it first seems.
  12. To be honest I think it's realistic for the team to revolt if you've fined a player simply for him saying he feels a warning was unfair. Think of it as a work situation, if I recieved a warning from my boss I have a right to think it's unfair. It doesn't stop me recieving the warning though, and it would be left at that. However, If I got fined for saying I thought the fine was unfair, then it would cause mass unrest in my office and I'd be straight onto HR because the fine was for me expressing a view rather than my performance.
  13. I'm not asking you about the "effects discussed in this thread". I'm interested in knowing whether you think FM10 is better or worse for having the Tactics Wizard (or it has made no difference)? I'd rather not mis-interpret you so would like to know your direct, straightforward answer.
  14. Ok, fair enough, your view is "Makes no difference". Is that correct?
  15. Stop throwing your toys out the pram. And stop being so obtuse. I'd rather not have to try to work out your stand point, which is why I asked you a rather simple question. Is FM10 better or worse for having the Tactics Wizard. Just say "better" or "worse"....
