zoopaloola
Even if he is not the manager come the start of next season Alan Shearer must be included as a manager in the database for fm2010. It's ridiculous that he hasn't been in the game since his retirement as it has always been likely that he would take over Newcastle at some stage. Considering the fact he had already been co-caretaker before he should already have been in the game.
34RLY|SUBURBON|D4NG3R
He hasn't been that heavily involved in any major managerial duties BUT he will probably be in FM2010.
stinger061
You can't exactly say that because something is likely it should definitely be in the game. Thats like saying Gareth Barry should have been in the Liverpool squad when FM09 was released as everyone was expecting him to move
dz47
Well by the time FM 10 comes around Shearer will have left Newcastle and they will probably had at least another manager, perhaps two, in the meantime. Seems to be the Newcastle way!
baker.simon
Come on wor Alan, gives us hope! It may be to late to save us this season but it gives us hope for the future!
Saxonaitor
Old Players that Everyone likes should just be in the database for evan like scout jobs Would love it
La Furia Roja
tbh im only a fan of players being in there that are active in football, there isnt really a way to define a 'player everyone likes' i do like shearer though
lukekarts
Alan Shearer will have retired from management having got Newcastle relegated, so he won't be in FM10.
Rb
If he comes into Newcastle in a managerial capacity (And even leaves before FM10 is released) then he'd be a free agent in FM10 anyway.
Glenn Wakeford
We couldn't add people into the DB that had shown no sign of moving into football, otherwise the DB would be enormous. He should be there for FM10.
SI Staff Dean Gripton Posted April 1, 2009 SI Staff Share Posted April 1, 2009 Indeed, what skorp said. Also, there would have been many people moaning that Shearer was getting manager jobs at Scunthorpe or Kilmarnock or Blackpool in the game, were he in the db. Because that is what would have happened. He was left out because he was consistently insisting that he was not interested in management or coaching. SI Staff Ter Posted April 1, 2009 SI Staff Share Posted April 1, 2009 Shearer is still in our master database and probably isn't extracted for the game as he has no management settings and is retired from playing. If he has the relevant coaching qualifications then he should have these management / coaching settings filled in.
Mr Marksman
Its ok, once he gets them relegated he will never be seen in football again. I like Shearer, but I would love him, LOVE HIM, if that happened.... Sorry.

Any chance anyone could post his attributes from the master database so we could add him to our own databases.
backpackant
It's ridiculous to say that it's ridiculous he wasn't included. Shearer had denied several times that he wanted to take over as any manager any time soon. It's even come as a surprise to fellow BBC pundit Mark Lawrence. In fact, he even turned down a coaching role. He can be added in the editor, although, of course, it won't be the 'real' man. You can still add history etc.
roooonaldooo
Newcastle will be in the championship in FM10 as well
drunkpunk
I think Shearer will still be at Newcastle for next seasons even if they get relegated. This is provided that actually fight to stay up of course.
