Four players in this season including breaking our transfer record spend again on another Argentinian. We needed a RB after selling Arapis last Jan and I didn't replace him. Piazzalonga came in from River Plate for £2.2m. Yenin and McKernon are both 18 years old and go into the youth team as I promoted a couple up from the U19s. Last to come in was Hasanov from Kesla for 400k to replace the departing Sadiqov who was moaning about playing time.

Piazzalonga.thumb.PNG.17d166b4dc190c1ebf551d86851a80d0.PNG

Five other players left the club in the window too, Al Taawoun came in for Valiyev who was never going to make it here, £1.4m up front with a few clauses is great business. Sabail decided to splash a bit of cash too signing both Asgarov and Huseynov who both wanted to leave for first team football.

Intake 2038

Intake.thumb.PNG.b2aaa6b5269c28bc7e00c62907c0fc34.PNG

Such a poor intake overall. One bright note is we got our first player from an affiliate, a South African from Free State Stars who I only linked up with about 2 months ago. Its time for a change in the HoYD and I've been nurturing one via my U19 coaching set up, allowing him to get his coaching badges before I give him the HoYD role.

Season Review 2037/38

Brief one again...

League and Cup double completed at a canter along with another charity shield win to make it a domestic treble. In Europe we finished 3rd in a group of Juventus, Kiev and Arsenal, dropping down into the EL. We smashed PSV 6-2 on aggregate in the 1st KO Round before bowing out to a strong Leipzig side, no repeat of last years run to the final.

In the Jan window we sold Hernandez my Colombian LB to Monaco for £1.8m, he wanted to go and I replaced him with Majetic from Sarajevo for £800k. A couple of fringe players left for more playing time.

Seven players hit double figures for goals this season; Ademilson (25), Kenton (23), Dladla (18), Teresi (15), Bojanic (14), Bazan Vera (14) and a special mention to Hakak who scored 15 goals and has reached 150 career club goals for Sumqayit in 508 appearances. We blooded through a few more youth players Verdiyev (YP36a), Yusifov (YP37a) and Muradov (YP34a) were all promoted from the U19s. Azeri U21 players racked up 9555 minutes this season.

Finances continue to only go up as we look set to break the £150m barrier next season unless I spend a bit of money. The facilities are set to be improved again.

We now sit at 13 consecutive league wins and 10 Azeri Cup wins along with winning the Charity Shield numerous times. Reaching the EL Final shows how good we can be but we're at that level where we not quite a top, top side but are better than most EL quality sides in Europe. Rankings have seen the club rise to 21st best in Europe whilst the league is now ranked the 12th strongest in Europe also.

It would be easy to spend the £100m I have on really improving the squad for that last push to win a European Competition but that would take the identity I've tried to create of bringing through the young players, I really like finding those rough diamond players and nurturing a squad into whilst trying to not pack the squad out with foreigners. We currently have 6 players from foreign countries whilst 5 others have Azeri second nationality through residency.

Transfers

Transfers.thumb.PNG.3b2920d148cc0da62fd98982dfb505c5.PNG

We made a profit this summer for the first time. Our first piece of business was to sell about 4th choice LB Nabisov who came through the academy, Qabala spent a pretty penny on him. Our first signing was a Ivorian Anicet Ake who is DM (who will be retrained to MC) from ASEC for his release clause of £250k, he will prove to be a bargain. I placed Koffi on my development list as we had too many foreign players in the first team and Sevilla came in for some reason. Roberth joined after having struck a deal last summer for him, I immediately pissed him off by placing him in the U19s, tough luck lad. On deadline day Sabail came in for Yermakov on loan, he was moaning about playing time so I let him go, he has a optional fee in there too. Sevilla then came back for my first choice RB Piazzalonga, I negotiated up to £3m and 50% profit, a season with the club and £1m profit. That meant I was lacking a RB so I scrabbled into the loan market and signed Pasaricek from Croatian side Gorica. Short term replacement whilst I search for a longer term player.

Youth Intake 2039

This is the first intake for Gabriel Yildaz my new HoYD who has a fairly professional personality, 17 for WwY and 14 JPA/15 JPP. He is also studying for his Continental Pro License.

Intake.thumb.PNG.c80465c7771eff250bf1a9f7014b9f07.PNG

This is a poor first intake really but as its his first he gets a pardon. We have a 5* potential GK which we'll look at closer in a minute. Personalities are slightly better than previously but still we have fickle, unambitious and unsporting present. Position wise, no strikers. Central players are either DM's or AM's, nothing in between. Albeit they're obviously quite poor quality we have two players from affiliates, Salazar from Chilean side O'Higgins and Nyambi from South African side FS Stars.

Telman Abbasov (YP39a)

Abbasov.thumb.PNG.87d6ddc733c558219bd08f98a1e0394c.PNG

Not sure what to make of him, is he 5* potential because Pini Hakak is now only 3* CA/PA. Quite poor technically he does have some good mental stats already. Fickle personality but I think that can be mentored out of him. One stat that does stand out for me is 9 for Free kicks, not as good as Hakak (who has 11) but it could possibly be improved.

Season Review 2038/39

League and Cup double for this season. In Europe was reached the CL Group Stage again where we faced Juventus, Porto and Cluj. We finished 3rd again dropping in the EL Knock Outs where we faced Lyon, we were unlucky go out on penalties after 1-1 draws home and away.

We made one further signing in the winter window, Soren Berg signing from Silkeborg on a free. We sold two players, Ukrainian youth winger Vadim Yenin was soold to Tottenham for £1.5m and Tural Ismailyov (YP33c) was sold to Sabail for 300k rising to 900k.

Squad wise we really this season, although we still scored 73 league goals, 26 in the Azeri Cup and 17 in Europe we had no real stand out players. Wingers Kenton and Dladla both scored 20 for the season but only two other players achieved double figures and that was Hakak and Bazan Vera. Ademilson top scorer for the past two seasons scored just seven goals, he was awful.

Both training and youth facilities were improved and we made a decent wedge of profit taking us to £175m in the bank.

Wonderkid

Koffi.thumb.PNG.96781d6eda21550a72a16d10aecb54df.PNG

We have our first Wonderkid in the squad, Rodrigue Koffi is yet to play for the first team after spending his first two seasons in the U19s and 2nds. He then spent a season on loan at Sevilla where he played 23(4) games in the heart of their defence.

My only concern with him is his fitness attribute of 8. Other than that he's going to go far in the game and I don't think I will have him with me much longer. I've changed my formation to purely because I'm pretty stacked at CB, we're going three at the back with Koffi in the centre. If and when he is sold we'll revert back to a flat back four.

Didn't Take Long

169933153_KoffiSold.thumb.PNG.e6664d493c21d8b96217a7c313de7ddf.PNG

PSG weren't the only team in for Koffi. Porto, Malaga, Sociedad and Sevilla all matched the bid. The fee was low due to his release clause being £1.1m, so I negotiated under and added the 50% profit clause in which should net us a few million in the near future if we sell that clause.

Transfers

Transfers.thumb.PNG.06b2ee828081a54b24a2f1bde16a57d9.PNG

Looking at the ins first Hasimov, Aliyev and Diego are all for the first team. The remainder are for the youth team to bulk it out.

Now the outs; Berg wanted to leave and his former club bought him back. I didn't want to sell Yusifov (YP37a) but he kicked up a fuss when Porto bid for him. Valiyev was a 2nd team player, no loss, hasn't really strengthened a rival either. Koffi you've seen above. Bayramov (YP27a) wanted a new challenged, i've promoted last season intake GK to replace him. Lastly Majetic was playing second fiddle to the much more experienced Filipovic and Fahrni who was out first signing can step up if needed.

The potential issue with selling him to PSG is what if PSG never sells him? Hopefully they do.

I hope that clause brings in a lot of money in the end.

He's been loaned out to Betis and is already valued at £18m, so if i can sell the clause I could get £7/8m easily at this point.

Youth Intake 2040

Intake.thumb.PNG.41a3d4896af22c0ca246956b31cb3e5d.PNG

Such a poor intake again. Both youth recruitment and junior coaching are maxed out so there's nothing more I can do in that aspect. I have the best HoYD I can attract to the club.

Only 5/16 players have a positive personality, if it wasn't for lack of U19 players in the squad I would consider not signing any of them. We have a Uruguayan player that has come through from Wanderers one of our affiliate clubs so there's one positive.

Season Review 2039/40

League and Cup double along with a charity shield win. We won the league by 16 points over Qabala and its now 15 consecutive league titles for us. In Europe we went straight into the group stages, drawn along side Juventus, Arsenal and Copenhagen. We won both game against the latter and beat Arsenal at the Emirates to send us through to the 1st KO Round of the CL for the very first time, progress. We were drawn against Barcelona  a credible 3-2 home defeat was followed by a 4-1 defeat in Spain.

This season was a complete fire sale of players after those six players leaving in the summer window we also let four more go in January. Anicet Aka left for Monaco (for £1.5m), Bojan Filipovic left for Wolfsburg (425k), Nestor Bazan Vera for Sociedad for £2.5m. Vermakov also left on loan to Zira. We made sales of £8.25m from players this season.

A better season for Ademilson (YP33a) as he scored 26 goals, top scoring in the league with 19. He was backed up by Muradov (YP34a) who scored 19 goals as we went two up top. Other double figure scorers were Dladla and Kenton. Bojanic had a poor season but was plagued by injury. Hakak only scored 7 goals this season (169 career goals now). With Vera and Aka leaving I promoted Roberth (a Brazilian DM) to the first team, 3 goals and 6 assists is a promising start.

Training facilities improved again and also asked for further improvements for both training and youth facilities. Before the commercial summary comes through we're sat with £213m in the bank.

Transfers Summer 2040

Transfers.thumb.PNG.2c5463698fa14a4a9e50c8fc0da4b43c.PNG

We got our business done early this summer. We needed to bring in a players for the right hand side. First in was Shabani from Schaffhausen the same club our other Swiss import came from. We then signed former player Ismailyov from Kesla, he had previously left on a free but I needed to sign an Azeri player for that position even if he acts as back up. We then spent big (in relative terms) on signing another RB from Sabail, Kawaya is a DR Congo national. Guitton was signed as a back up after his release from Qarabag.

Out go two players who were deemed surplus to requirements. Yermakov was even placed in the reserves, Sabail with a bit of money after I gave them nearly a million spent 675k to bring in him. Fernandes was a Portuguese national signed on a free last season so made some decent profit on him.

I'm at a bit of a cross roads in terms of the quality of the Azeri players I have, I need the youth academy to start producing some better players considering the money I've spent on the improvements. We're actually only using four foreigners in the first choice XI at the minute so there is scope to improve on the players I have as we can use 6 foreigners in the team. I could do with good home grown options at full back, centre mid, either wing or in attack. No much to ask for.

Overview.thumb.PNG.318df30f36512eded38b11105bc08929.PNG

Its come around quite quickly in all fairness, we face Besiktas in Turkey in the CL Group Stages, I beat them 3-0 at home so hopefully we can get another win.

I'm quite surprised by the amount of goals we've scored, I've not really looked at the above overview but thought we'd scored way more as we've regularly been scoring 70/80 league goals in the past 10 seasons.

Icon Gone

I took the decision to sell club Icon Federico Kenton to Cruz Azul. 1) He wanted to go 2) His contract was up in the summer 3) He's 33 and declining in ability.

1884837810_KentonHistory.thumb.PNG.f7c0777adf546c8c058ce620735e6593.PNG

What a career with us, signed from Costa Rican club football he started as he meant to go on. He actually scored 178 career goals for us and made 136 assists. He was in fine form this season with 12 goals in 16 games also so I could have kept him but this gives the likes of Banciu and Schruers to step up and make the position his own.

no youth facilities upgrades available?

There are, we're currently at 'Great' for youth facilities so one more I believe for State of Art. Problem is getting the board to agree to upgrading them again.

However the biggest problem we face is the quality of the youth coming in via the intakes. If we get one or two good prospects I know for well I can turn them into very good players for club and country with the mix of facilities/coaches we have.

Great thread! You've taken a very interesting approach to this kind of challenge. I never get so far with those because I get bored when the league becomes a walk in the park.

Thanks very much!

Domestically it has become fairly easy but I haven't done an unbeaten season in around 10 seasons as I push to break goal scoring records etc. I literally have two players (my centre backs) on defensive and all other players have an attacking element to their game.

Its in Europe where we are still lacking quality, we're good enough to reach the CL group stages every season yet not quite good enough to reach a 2nd place and advance except on one occasion then we got dumped out by Barcelona. I could but won't go out and spend the £125m transfer budget I have on drastically improving the squad to challenge for European quarters and beyond. We did reach the EL Final having had a fairly easy run before being beaten in the said final.

Youth Intake 2041

Intake.thumb.PNG.81dc2af61d3dee5512004514f24a9f42.PNG

This looks another poor intake on paper, so much so I won't be tagging anyone again, potentially one 3.5* potential player at best before they evaluated. No central midfielders again both are DMs. Bagirov looks like he could be a Peter Crouch, 197cm at 15 years old :D labelled as a rangy striker. No players from affiliate teams.

Season Review 2040/41

Another season down and another domestic treble. Europe however, we failed to get out of a group consisting of Leipzig, Liverpool and Besiktas. In the first 3 games we drew with Liverpool and Leipzig and beat Besiktas but then lost the remaining 3 games.

We made one more signing in the winter window, we had sold our first choice LB Fahrni to Porto for £1.5m + 50%, so we spent a huuuuuge £10k on Fahad Al-Qahtani from Iranian side Esteghal, he's improved so well and now valued at £350k. We also lost Roberth one of our first choice CM's, he went to Internacional in Brazil for his release clause which was £1m.

Muradov (YP34a) top scored with 23 goals whilst his strike partner Ademilson (YP33a) only scored 12. Dladla scored 16 and GK Hakak managed 10 this season. This season two more players Arnason and Banciu both gained dual nationality so we are down to 5 out and out foreign players.

Club wise we improved both training and youth facilities again, I have already asked the board to improve the training facilities again at a cost of £2.9m. Average attendance has crept over the 16k mark for the first time. We have £218m in the bank with £126m available to spend on new players and £1.65m weekly wage budget. We're currently spending just £140k p/w.

Double Upgrade??

I got the following news item through...

Upgrade.thumb.PNG.bc51291fb8c6f6347643447f6140d125.PNG

I thought this is strange, I had asked and was told it would cost £2.9m. And £7.5m is a lot more than that. So I took a look at the boardroom segment and found this...

Board.thumb.PNG.8bcb3d3cec2652bc373bd91246528abd.PNG

We're currently going through two upgrades?? Has anyone else had this before. The only thing I can think of is that I've just had a board takeover where my previous chairman has retired. Have the new board taken it upon themselves to improve the training facilities further?

Summer Transfers 2041

Transfers.thumb.PNG.07e998ba204f06412215bd2f78e34beb.PNG

Lets take a look at the outs first. We lost last seasons signing for RB Kawaya to Bournemouth for just under his release clause as we negotiated and added 50% profit sell on. Azeri national Mammadzada wasn't quite good enough for our first team but Zira felt he was and 850k prized him away from our 2nd team. Guitton was another signing last season but didn't play much, a 100k offer and he was gone to Suvalan. McKernon was surplus to requirements and was taking up a foreign slot, offered him out and Hibernian bit to take him home. Lastly we sold another foreigner as Swiss national Shabani, I offered him out and Thun offered his value to also take him home.

Brighton Sibeko was first through the door from South African side Wits. The young winger had a pre-arranged deal with us and it was a matter of waiting for him to turn 18. We then spent big, £2.5m big  in bringing in Emanual D'Urso from Newell's Old Boys in Argentina. We needed to replace our RB who left earlier in the window. I opted to sign Zlatko Pasaricek on a free transfer from Croatian side HNK Gorica. We were still a little light in defence and after some scouting and failing to find a good prospect to sign, I opted for experience in 26 year old Nurlan Qasimov from rivals Qarabag.

Off the back of this the training facilities HAVE been upgraded twice and now sit at State of Art.

Koffi Clause

We have a 50% profit clause on Rodrigue Koffi who was sold to PSG.

1757552563_KoffiClause.thumb.PNG.7a1852b2bceb49479ab5e3d56a4f265e.PNG

He's only played 1 games for the first team yet is valued at £43m. He's also wanted by a lot of clubs, lets hope he goes to one of these and we take home some big profit from the said clause.

Youth Intake 2042

I gave my current HoYD, a new 2 year deal in a bid to hope he could improve on his recent intakes.

1122042172_YouthIntake.thumb.PNG.c0c65ab66f5ee3c689d51ab30473b515.PNG

A much better intake than of recent past as we have a 5* potential player. Just one real positive personality is a problem but I can hopefully improve a couple of these in time. Overall position spread is much better also. We have three youth products from affiliate clubs, one from Chile, one from South Africa and one from new club Bhayangkara in Indonesia.

Elnur Musayev (YP42a)

Musayev.thumb.PNG.6ecc1efd5534cc5cb0af0a2f7f130f6a.PNG

Our first tagged player in seems an absolute age, a defensive midfielder but its something we now need to improve upon as I've sold Jefferson to Monaco for £2.5m. I've changed formation to a more attacking one also, we now play with a flat back four, a DM then, wingers either side of a Trequartista with two up top.

Elnur already has good work rate, decisions, anticipation and bravery which bodes well for a lone defensive midfielder. Needs to work on his strength and stamina but does have good natural fitness though. Technically, he needs to improve. Passing and tackling mainly for his position but at least they're in double figures.

Is my AssMan taking the ****?

714160589_HakakOn.thumb.PNG.6a51ccff110868d2e58c8bc231c5065b.PNG

Okay, so why do I think my AssMan is taking the peepee? As you can see Abbasov and Hakak both scored goals in this away win over Turan. Now Abbasov is the player at the top of the list there and he wasn't subbed off for Hakak. Hakak actually came on at half time as a replacement for the Elnur Muradov in attack :D I mean come on any other outfield player would have done a better job, we had two strikers on the bench.

Taking a closer look via the form pages on both Abbasov and Hakak, they both made saves in the game, so did Hakak come on for Muradov and then Abbasov moved up front? I can't see to find a screen that shows positional changes on the pitch during a game. Any ideas?

Season Review 2041/42

Another domestic treble completed but it was in Europe where improvement was made. After beating Maccabi Haifa and Slovan Bratislava to reach the CL Group Stage we managed to make it out of it also. A heavy defeat to Bayern in Germany was followed by a win over Anderlecht and a credible 3-3 draw against Real Madrid. That was followed by another heavy defeat to Madrid in the return leg this time but back to back wins over Bayern (1-0) and Anderlecht  (3-0) earned us 2nd place in the group. After the winter break we faced Leipzig in the 1st KO Round, drawing the first leg 1-1 before heading to Germany and coming away with a 2-2 draw and progression to the quarters due to away goals. We then drew Arsenal and managed a 3-3 draw at home before being absolutely smashed at the Emirates 7-0, couldn't have played worse.

In January two players joined and two left. In came Kim Sung-Chul from Jeonbuk, the young Korean was back up to the strikers. Peter Soltesz was the other player coming in, we were slightly desperate to bring in another DM after selling Jefferson to Monaco for £2.5m, the Hungarian DM costing £1.4m from Vidi. The other player to leave was Kazakh 2nd team player Zhenisbekov to Astana for 400k.

We changed formation this season to a more attacking one, 4-1-3-2 with a DM and three attacking midfielders. Muradov and Ademilson were great scoring 26 and 24 respectively. D'Urso was the pick of the squad though, the wonderkid scoring 17 and assisting 18, attracting interest from Real Madrid. Young GK replaced Hakak this season as first choice he scored 11 in his debut season.

The training facilities were improved twice to State of Art. We also made 53m in prize money this season meaning we end the season with just short of £250m in the bank.

We have a few players wanted which could scupper a few plans next season as we look to build upon this squad. D'Urso wanted by Real Madrid and PSG at time of writing, Al-Qahtani my left back is also wanted by PSG and Arsenal. I'm confident of keeping Ademilson though who is wanted by MLS clubs Colorado and Colombus.

Emanual D'Urso Sale

2076716437_DUrsoSale.thumb.PNG.4d1c418427f9a7b80cf2ea7dfb33e245.PNG

Disappointingly I've had to sell my wonderkid Emanual D'Urso. He's gone to Valencia which isn't the big side that were initially interested in him but it does give us a chance that he will be sold on for big money in the future so brings that clause into place.

Bought for £2.5m, sold for £4m so some profit after a very good season. Immediately valued at £26.5m.

Summer Transfers 2042/43

Transfers.thumb.PNG.1abc1da05883e68f577c8160eb919bd5.PNG

5 players in this summer, all foreigners. van Dijk was first in, in a pre-agreed deal, the young DM will be back up. Next in was a new LW, Esendemir is an 18 year old inside forward and comes in for a big fee in comparable terms, he's a starter. Sandoval is another 18 year old and he slots into the U19's for a couple of seasons. Perez is D'Urso's replacement, no where near his predecessors ability but has the potential. Parusnath is another young'un, this time from South Africa, he will be back up of the back up for DM.

Esendemir.thumb.PNG.f3e3d5a55914bac70c7672673f0393bf.PNG

Out went Banciu first, he was a massive problem last season, fined him for being absent from training around 10 times. At one point I was fining him 2 weeks wages once a week, he was paying us to be here :D. Good Riddance. Next out was D'Urso :( . Ismailyov wanted more football, Sabail obliged with 525k. We've had one more sale after the window shut and that was Brighton Sibeko to PSG, the young South African winger isn't PSG first team standard so its disappointing to lose him but his release clause was only £975k.

Great work in the champions league!!

Thanks, shame it ended so heavily in defeat to Arsenal. I hope we can back it up again this season but we've been handed a "tough group".

We're probably on the same level last season overall, with the loss of D'Urso but we have Esendemir who comes in on the left as an improvement but slightly weaker in AMC. We've managed to keep hold of our LB as he was injured all window, so defensively we're unchanged.

Staff Progression

A big part of any long term save for me is bringing in the staff and seeing them progress and leave for bigger clubs, just like developing players. Here's a few of the best staff I've had who are now at top clubs.

Oliver Alonso - regen staff member who had his first job as our reserves manager. He left in 2034 after nine years in charge. His managerial career has been Betis > Liverpool > Valencia > Hoffenheim > Liverpool > Barcelona. He's won the Carabao Cup twice, FA Cup once and European Super Cup once, all with Liverpool.

Reziuan Mirzov - former Rostov players who became our U19 manager in 2029 for 5 years. He left for Leipzig where he won 3 x Bundesliga titles, 2 x German Cups, the Europa League and European Super Cup before moving to PSG this season.

Danny Welbeck - joined as U19 coach in 2025 before becoming AssMan in 2029 until 2036. He left for Hoffenheim for a season, before joining Betis winning the Spanish Cup and Super Cup in 2038. He left in 2041 to rejoin Hoffenheim.

Nurlan Novruzov - an Azeri, who joined as reserve manager in 2034. He was promoted to AssMan after Welbz left in 2036. He left to join Real Sociedad in 2037.

Matvey Tereshko - joined in 2034 as U19 manager before promotion to AssMan in 2037 when Nurlan left. He spent just a season in that position as he left to take over at Espanyol. He spent two seasons there and is currently the manager of Malaga.

Emiliano Marcondes - joined in 2031 as an U19 coach then was promoted to U19 AssMan. He then became first team AssMan when Tereshko left. He left this season for Benfica.

wow, what a coaching tree!!!

Its great seeing so many staff go on to top jobs.

We've also lost a couple of other coaches to other Azeri teams like Demerai Gray, Iaquinta and Murati. Gray has since returned. I also had Emre Can on the books and he was colossal as a coach but didn't want to renew and left. He's jobless 2 seasons later still.

Pini Hakak

With the emergence of Abbasov (YP39a) as a starter, Pini has spent much more time on the sidelines and had expressed his desire to leave for first team football. After putting it off for around a season I finally caved and sold him.

He's gone to Kalshruhe in Germany for £250k. Below is how he looks at 34 years old...

Youth Intake 2043

Intake.thumb.PNG.feda7820513ef0cd0da79deb0d393ce0.PNG

Another poor intake, despite poor initial potential rating our best player looks to be Vusal Huysenov. Not sure how I can improve these intakes, everything is maxed out and we have the best HoYD available to us.

Season Review 2042/43

Domestic Treble again. We equalled our best points tally with 77 but had our best goal scoring season with 92 league goals, helps when playing attacking wing backs, wingers, an AMC and two strikers. In Europe we improved again in my opinion, reaching the semi finals of the Europa League. In the CL we achieved 8 points beating Young Boys home and away and earning a draw against each of Real Madrid and Man Utd. Back in the EL we beat Sparta Prague (6-2 agg), Slovan Bratislava (3-1 agg) and Sevilla (7-3 agg) before bowing out to Athletico Madrid (7-5 on agg).

Transfer wise in January we signed a further three players. Paco from Valladolid, Amaral from Guimaraes and Njoh from APEJES (in Cameroon). We lost players too, Bojanic left for Basel (300k), Hakak to Karlsruhe (250k), Soltesz to PSG (£1.5m) and Sung-Chul to Monaco (£1.5m). We ended the season with sales of £9.5m.

Seven players achieved double figures for goals this season, Ademilson (YP33a) with 34 the most. Goalkeeper Abbasov (YP39a) managed 14 an improvement on last season. 29 year old Dladla made 21 assists. We have a slight issue in that we now have 10 foreign players in the first team squad, three or four more than I would like. I'm going to look to move on a RB and at least one DM.

The board agreed to improve the youth facilities which will take them to State of the Art. We gained Danubio from Uruguay as a feeder club.

The Danubio affiliate could lead to something special...hopefully

Hope so, we are yet to have a decent prospect through an affiliate club, although they probably aren't the best clubs from their respective countries. Maybe need to look at changing a few others too.

Transfers 2043

Transfers.thumb.PNG.010c09c91958ca57bcd79e4a1d29b1f7.PNG

A fair bit of change this summer as four first team players left and needed to be replaced. Parusnath was in the first team squad but rarely played and took up a foreigner slot when fourth choice for a position we use one player in, he was worth more than what I got for him though. I then lost my whole left hand side of players; Esendemir to PSG, the club that's taken most of my best players. I didn't want to lose him at all but £4.5m softens the blow despite not needing the money. Al-Qahtani was first choice left back, like Esendemir he wanted to leave, Porto had initially bid £3.5m for him and Monaco matched it. Schruers kicked up a huge fuss when I rejected a bid for him earlier in the summer, Gent bid again and I let him go as we had adequate recruitment's for the left by then.

Andre de Paula was a pre-agreed deal and goes into the U19s, he's joined in that squad by Leonal Torres, signed on deadline day from El Salvador side Aguila. Chamorro is now our record signing, however I don't expect the 20 year old left wing wonderkid to be here too long. Motaung was a bit of a reflex signing when Al-Qahtani left, I probably could have signed a better player if I had scouted more. Belov is the right winger we needed last season really, the young Russian signs from Orenburg and will rotate with Dladla on the right.

Season Review 2043/44

Comfortable league win again but we did suffer two draws and two losses which is disappointing. Another cup and charity shield win to make it another treble. In Europe we went another step further, we beat Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Zilina and Celtic to reach the group stage again, where we were drawn with Athletico Madrid, Midtjylland and Shakhtar. We stormed to five wins from six only losing the away tie A Madrid, easily topping the group whilst conceding just 3 goals. We drew Valencia in the 1st KO Round, we drew 2-2 in Spain and won 3-1 at home, we were then drawn against Man City, over and out...you would think. We lost 3-1 in Manchester, tie over you would think. At home we were imperious, helped by City having one sent off we won 3-0 to turned the tie around. Champions League semi's here we come. We drew Juventus and went in fearless, home leg first, a 2-2 draw. We went to Italy with a chance but lost, just 1-0 though. A very respectable campaign which will do ourselves and the league wonders in the coefficients.

We lost another 3 players in the January transfer window, Pasaricek was second fiddle to Amaral but we lost both, the former to Fulham and the latter to Liverpool, he had just become a wonderkid. We also lost our star AMC Ezequiel Perez to Liverpool, once he left he turned into a wonderkid too. The scousers getting some bargains there at £2m a piece, we have 50% profit clauses attached though. We signed 3 players, two right backs and a new AMC from Valencia. We spent £9.5m this season and recouped £14m from player sales.

26 year old Muradov (YP34a) took the scoring mantel this season with 35 goals, he also contributed 12 assists. Other scorers were Ademilson (YP33a) with 26, Chamorro (21), Dladla (19) and Njoh our GK with 11. Dladla was king with the assists making 23. We currently have 3 wanted players Chamorro by a host of clubs including Barcelona and Real Madrid, Belov by PSG  and Motuang by A Madrid.

Muradov won the CL Golden Boot with 11 goals in 17 games. Njoh was 2nd best GK, Amaral was 3rd best defender, Chamorro was 3rd best midfielder and Muradov was 2nd best striker.

Youth Facilities are now State of the Art, just the data facilities to get their token upgrades. We made changes with our affiliates, I cancelled 3 and gained Danubio, to leave us with them Cesar Vallejo from Peru and Fuli in China. We made £72m in prize money this season plus that £20m from the sell on clause we really raked it in.

That's 26 seasons with Sumqayit now. I'll post an update around the 3 leagues I have loaded as view only and an international update about Azerbaijan soon.

Around the World

I have 3 nations as view only, England, Germany and Spain. Lets take a look and see what's happened. Liverpool have won the most league titles with 10 including this past season. Man Utd (6), Man City (5), Chelsea (3) and Arsenal (2). New clubs to have played in the Premier League are Preston, Bristol Rovers, Southend, Bristol City and Brentford. Everton find themselves in the Championship, Crystal Palace and Watford in League One and Huddersfield in League Two. Sheffield Weds are in Vanarama National and failed to get promoted.

Unsurprisingly Barcelona are the dominant force in Spain with 14 titles including 11 in row between 2026 and 2037. Real Madrid have 5 titles, A Madrid (6) and Sevilla (1). No real shocks in promotion or relegation, Racing Santander have just won promotion to Liga BBVA a slight exception.

In Germany Bayern have been the major force with 16 titles, Leipzig follow with 7, Dortmund twice and Hoffenheim once. Bielefeld and Greuther Furth are the only probable lower league sides to have reached the Bundesliga.

In Europe, past winners of the Champions League have been Liverpool (6), Real Madrid & Man City with 4, Barcelona, Bayern, Juventus with two each, Monaco, Leipzig, PSG, Porto and Man Utd with a single win each. The Europa League has been won by Chelsea (5), Inter (4), Man Utd (4), Leipzig (2) and Lazio, Porto, Dortmund, Arsenal, Valencia, Tottenham, Lyon, Man City, Bayern, PSG and Bayer Leverkusen once a piece.

On the international stage past winners of the World Cup have been 2022 - Italy, 2026 - Portugal, 2030 - Argentina, 2034 - Ukraine, 2038 & 2042 - England. The Euro's have been won by (in order) Croatia, France, Portugal, Switerland, Czech Rep, Italy and SCOTLAND

Azerbaijan qualified for this Euro 2044 tournament top of their qualifying group with Austria and Sweden in it. They didn't do too well in the tournaments itself losing all 3 games against Turkey, England and Greece. They currently find themselves in 90th place in the World Rankings after being at a high of 86. 7 of my squad are currently in the senior squad whilst another 6 players have once been a Sumqayit player.
