SV Hamburger

Until last year Hamburg was the only Bundesliga team to never get relegated. They were a successful team winning 6 Bundesliga titles and a Champions League, the best times they had were in the lates 70s and 80s but since then they didn't manage to get back to these heights. in the last few years, they were battling against relegation, sometimes surviving miraculously. and the one thing they could hold on too is never getting relegated. Now that Hamburg doesn't have that pressure on them anymore it is time to take back to greatness. 

It is the task of the 24 year old Israeli Manager to bring back the glory days to McDonald's Deutschland  Hamburg

Squad Changes

A good size squad, we have some very good players on loan that we can't recall.

We weren't given a transfer budget but the finances look good and the team is very good for the 2. Bundesliga. some very good young players that include von Drongelen, Arp and Vagnoman. I decided to cancel the loan of Hwang Hee-Chan because of his high salary. I brought in two young loanees to strengthen my attack

Foden to bring depth to my Attacking midfield and Eggestein to strengthen my Striker depth so now I have three capable strikers.

I let Arianit Ferati go out on loan but other than that I ain't familiar with the squad so i didn't want to sell anyone in the first window.

July- August

good preseason, we got some good wins for the morale and the result vs Bayern was not too bad, but I did use my defensive tactic for that one.

we started the season well, getting two good league wins at home, although my tactic is attacking we looked solid defensively. easy win in the cup over a non-league team, to be expected. we drew Schalke in the next round, much tougher opposition and I doubt we would be able to get through.

too early in the season to make anything out of the league table but it is still nice to sit in 2nd.

didn't make any more transfers, I am pretty happy with the squad

Interested to see how you get on. I too am playing as Hamburg after going for my stag do. Really nice city. I couldn't cancel the loan of Hwang Hee-Chan.

Thanks! Good luck, I could only cancel the loan at the start of July, before that it said that I could only cancel a loan after 28 days

I don't think they were the only team not to get relegated. I doubt Bayern have been but they weren't founder members, so Hamburg were probably the last team to have been ever-present in the Bundesliga instead.

Still at the start of July 3 days in sorting the whole yearly training schedule. He's still on holiday at the moment so may be able to cancel it once he's back.

Bayern were relegated in 1955, promoted the next season.

Good month, disappointing draw at home vs Jahn Regensburg but I am very pleased with the two away wins at the end of the month, these results send us top of the table leading Ingolstadt by 1 point

I'll be following this although the doctor recommended not to due to post-Tinajero which is a PTSD like illness. 

Get the burgers back to where they belong, hurts to see them in the second tier. Good start.

Right, if you're only counting Bundesliga(I had assumed everyone just meant top tier overall), then Bayern, Leverkusen, and Wolfsburg have never been relegated, but all three had been pre-Bundesliga. Hamburg had until this season played every year since their formation in a/the top tier, and the only team that had played in every Bundesliga season.

October

Another good month in the league, we are still unbeaten. We started the month well with a 3-0 away at Darmstadt and continued it with two 2-0 in a row, giving us a 6 point gap at the top of the table, I am annoyed with the home draw vs St. Pauli, it was a chance to put a big gap early on. We played very well vs Schalke in the cup and deserved to win, they pushed hard in the last ten minutes scoring two goals but we managed to hold on.

November

A good win vs Koln who were predicted to be our closest rivals but haven't performed well so far this season, a solid win vs Aue and an unconvincing win at home vs Union Berlin, we created plenty of chances but couldn't finish them.  but 3 wins helped us put in an 8 point gap at the top of the table and we are still unbeaten

I was also offered a new contract, decided not to make any demands this time.

@BoxToBox have been giving him a game there and here, trying to play him without hurting the side, he just hasn’t impressed until the first game of December but now he might get a run of starts

Great month, Arp really turned it up this month being involved in all our goals in the first two matches, he went missing for the last match but he got enough credit to keep his place in the starting 11 after the winter break.

we are now 11 points clear of the opposition and still unbeaten, things are looking good for us heading into the winter break

Was just about to post my January update and my computer crashed, I have no idea how frequent my auto saves were, I was a week into February so I might have not lost anything of January but we beat Augsburg on penalties in the 3rd round of the cup just moments before my computer crashed, really bummed to have to play at least that again

brought in one more loan in the January transfer window, most of my wage budget went on renewing contracts

Antonio Marin, backup for AML and optional buy clause for 10 mil, don't think i will activate it but who knows

What tactic/style are you playing? How are you finding the training or are you giving that to your assistant?

I usually leave the training to my assistant but sometimes I change certain sessions to my opinion ( if there is high fixture congestion I would add more rest and recovery than my assistant gives)

I took the Gegenpressing 4-2-3-1 base and tweaked it a little bit to suit what I want if you want to see it just ask.

Finally found time to finish February

it went better this time vs Augsburg, we won without the penalty drama. Arp is doing amazingly well, scoring in every game this month. Unfortunately, we won't go unbeaten this season as Ingolstadt inflict on us our first loss this season.

We got Hoffenheim in the Quarterfinals of the German Cup.

17 point gap with 11 games left, things are looking very good

Youth Intake!

Seems Promising!

The Japanese players are dominating this intake. 

He looks amazing! I like his stats and personality, he is very high and strong so I think I will retrain him as a CB

I like his physicals but has some way in front of him

What do they feed them in Japan, they are all so high, he looks good, but again work will be needed.

Looks like everything's going pretty smoothly, this isn't even testing you, maybe Bundesliga will be a bit more interesting.

Bayern weren't granted a spot in the original Bundesliga after it's conception, so spent the first two seasons outside it. Bayern, Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen haven't been relegated since they got up, but Hamburg were the only club to have played at that level every season since it started.

March-April

We beat Hoffenheim in the QF and went on to have a strong March. we guaranteed the title against Koln. by the Mainz game, we already had an injury crisis with 4 players injured and one not fully fit, we went 2-0 down and fought back but lost on penalties, the fairytale had to end somewhere. The injury crisis deepened when against Union Berlin we had 7 players injured or not fit to play, one day of rest before Bochum didn't help and we conceded in the 94th minute to lose more points.

It doesn't matter what we do anymore but we need 2 points from the remaining 9 to break the leagues' point record.

We finished the season in style, beating Ingolstadt allowed Koln to move above them.
