Parma, Roma and Cagliari could not stop Iblei from advancing to the Final against Napoli. In the Final my team was in control for the most of the match, and lead 0 - 1 until the 90th minute when Napoli equalized. The subsequent extra time continued with 1 - 1 result, but then on the 120+1 minute Ragusa substitute Di Marsilio scored the winning goal. 1 - 2 Coppa Italia win!

Champions Cup - Quarter Final

We did not lose once to Basel, Shakhtar or Valencia in the group stage games. Then Iblei won Chelsea in the 1st Knockout Round, but lost to Paris SG in the Quarter Final.

My best Serie A season so far. 99 points and +82 goal difference.

Coppa Italia - Final

It was Inter who waited in the Final after Iblei had pushed Celano, Lazio and Torino aside. 2 goals from Tudisco and 90+2 minute goal by Basilico won the cup for Ragusa in a match that ended 2 - 3.

Champions Cup - Quarter Final

Real madrid, Viktoria Plzen and Zenit were drawn into the same group as Ragusa, but there was little they could do to prevent my team from qualifying for further rounds. Barcelona were an easy opponent and managed only 3 shots combined in the 1st Knockout Round while Ragusa had 42 shots. In the Quater Final, however, Atlético Madrid proved much stronger than the Catalans and defeated my team.

Attaking midfielder Epifani has pretty good all around skills.

Giacomo Tudisco - ST

This was Ragusa legend Tudisco's last season before his retirement. Too bad he was not inerested in a coaching position. He still scored respectable 13 league goals to finish his excellent career which took him from Serie C to Serie A champions while playing for Ragusa.

Calabro had the highest goal tally of my players - 24 league goals.

With Tudisco retiring Basilico will have more reponsibiity next season. In actuality Basilico has been better than Tudisco or at least 2 seasons already. This time he had good 7.80 avr, scored 17 league goals and made 16 assists.

Ragusa retained the Serie A championship.

Coppa Italia - Final

First Verona, then Avellino and Brescia. Finally Juventus. 1 - 0 to Ragusa in the Final.

Champions Cup - Semi Final

Lyon, PSV and Sparta Prague were in the same group as Ragusa, and it was Iblei and Boeren that qualified for the next stage. Man City and Madrid got beaten by my team before Ragusa were to face Milan in the Semi Finals. Milan continued to the Final on away goals, and went on to defeat Paris SG and win the competition.

Di Fiore played a bigger role than I thought he would have before the season. Basilico was not in good form, so I quite often started Di Fiore. Only 5 league goals, but he seems rather promising.

Another two solid seasons there duccio, keep it up. A little sad to see you regress back to Quarters (Semis the next season ) in the Champs League, but definitely well on the way to another completion. Extra disappointing to be knocked out by another Italian team.

Rot-Weiss Essen 2021 / 2022

Season

I couldn't avoid the relegation. At the begin of the season i had a lot of draws and at the end i couldn't win the important games. 3 games before the end i was 14th but after lost the last 3 games i was 17th. Last game i played against Dortmund away and has a 2-1 lead. With this result i would reach the playoff place but at the end i lost 3-2 and get straight to the 2. division.

I'm upset that i was not good enough for the first division but sometimes you need a step back to get stronger!

Taranto FC

Season 1 - (2014/15) - Pre Season

Taranto FC Chairman Fabrizio Nardoni has appointed new man Benjamin Hervey as the manager for the upcoming season. Mr. Hervey is new to the scene of football having never previously played or managed at any club.

The newly promoted side look as though they could be in trouble this season as the media expects them to be relegation candidates (18th/20). With them pipped at 80/1 to win the league it certainly looks that way.

Manager:

Mr. Benjamin Hervey has a very low reputation in the footballing world so it's no surprise that he could only land a job in the 3rd tier of Italian football.

Club:

Taranto FC 'Rossoblu' are a Professional Football club in the Italian Serie C1/C division. Having recently been promoted from the 4th tier of football they are now looking to their new manager to take them to the top.

Transfer Plans:

Taranto have a fairly large squad in place so I am looking to offload some of the deadwood and free up some wages. This is noticeable in the U19s. For some reason they have about 40 players in the U19s so a lot of these will hopefully be leaving.

As for the ins I have my eyes set on a few positions that I would like to improve upon.

GK: Currently we have 3 young keepers all under 20 years old so while these may be good as backup or in the future I will certainly be looking to bring in a more experienced first team keeper.

CB: There are a few half decent CBs already at the club but none of which are to the standard that I would like to see leading the back line. For this reason I am going to be attempting to bring in a 'stopper' and a 'coverer'.

CM: The heart of the midfield again is not shy on players to chose from but I am looking to bring in some better talent. One of whom will hopefully be older and more experienced whilst the other shall be a bit younger with room to grow.

ST: We have two very solid strikers who will be starting most games however after that we have nobody. So I am looking to bring in a covering striker again a bit younger with room to grow.

R/LW: Yet again not lacking in options but certainly lacking in ability. The selection to choose from are of the older type lacking pace and technical ability. Looking for a loan option this year as I focus our funds elsewhere.

Key Players:

Gianpiero Clemente: Looking to lead from the front with this man. He is my captain to be with those high leadership and teamwork attributes he might be a good tutor as well. I plan on playing him as a TM/DLF in a support role where hopefully he will pick up the assists for his strike partner...

Pietro Balistreri: ...The strike partner. A very nice looking striker who I am hoping will be our top scorer.

This season I am looking to bulk up the core of the team with a bit of quality so that the following season I can strengthen the team to push higher up the league. We're in for a tough time this year, looking as though we are going to be fighting for survival all season. With that in mind though hopefully we can focus our attention to building for the future.

Taranto FC

Season 1 - 2014/15 - End of Season Review

Serie C1/C: 16th (predicted 18th)

After some horrible Friendlies the team really struggled to get going in the first half of the season seeing us accumulate just 10 points from 19 games. We were leaking goals left right and centre and we weren't scoring them either. A quick change of tactic and a motivational speech at the turn of the year saw us improve dramatically. It looked at one stage that we may make it to guaranteed safety however a bad run-in against the teams around us meant we were due for the playout. In the play out we were to play Paganese who finished the season in 19th. With a home leg final we had to make sure we could contain them so we could control the game at home. Contain we did but control we did not. The first leg ended 3-0 to Taranto however the second leg finished 4-1 to paganese. With the loser being relegated to the Serie D, I feared the worst. It was only afterwards that i found out that if it ended in a draw then it was decided on who finished higher in the league rather than away goals. This meant that our strong run of form in the middle of the season was vital in our survival.

Serie C Cup: First Knock-Out Round

Nothing spectacular to note, we made it out of the group in second place winning 1 game (out of 2) and were then knocked out in the first round against Cantanzaro who eventually went on to win it.

Club:

The reputation of Taranto has stayed more or less the same increasing slightly in the rankings as they managed to keep their Serie C status. As for the finances... Meh. We were in about £200k debt but at the start of season two we are now +£300k thanks to a new kit sponsorship worth £170k. The Facilities were adequate when I took over and with the current fear of a financial crisis, they should be fine for a few years yet.

Team:

Best XI|Tactics

This season the team struggled to get off the mark with nobody really performing well. During the first half of the season a number of different tactics were tried, tested and failed. Ranging from a defensive 5-4-1 to an attacking 4-2-2-2. Eventually come the turn of the year we found a formation that suited our style. A counter-attacking 4-3-3.

Key Players:

Carlo Romano (17) - GK - One of the 'keepers already at the club however he didn't make an appearance until mid January. After getting two clean sheets in two games he didn't leave the starting eleven again. Conceding 26 in 18 apps with 7 clean sheets.

Kiko (22) - LB - Joined from affiliate club Vit. Setubal for £115k. Originally signing him for LW he struggled to find form. Playing him at LB one game for cover he shone through making that spot his for the rest of the year where he picked up 7 assists and 1 goal.

Andrea Migliorini (27) - CDM - Another new face who struggled to settle in but once he did he was excellent. Playing him as an anchor man he filled a whole defensively and was solid in building up the play.

Pietro Balistreri (29) - ST - Another player struggling to find form but when he did boy was it worth the wait. 20 Goals and 3 Assists in 38 games was key to our survival.

Sherry Kindo Kamara (21) - ST - A player who joined us in September on a free transfer was supposedly the back up striker I was looking for. Nuh-uh. In the new formation he managed to find a small run of form picking up 9 goals and 6 assists in 15 starts.

Ins and Outs|Youth Intake

Two successful windows this year followed by a very successful youth intake day. As planned i managed to strengthen the core of the team and even had the money to buy a quality LB in Kiko. Of course there were a few flop signings and a few players who I didn't manage to offload but in all I think it was a success.

Youth Players To Watch:

YP1a - Alessandro Ballini - Currently my main one to watch develop a CAM who looks like he has bags of potential. Unfortunately only made 1 appearance in which he conceded a penalty. But still looking forward to how he progresses.

YP1b - Vito Giuffrida - Another player who looks like he is going to be a star for the next few season at least. Made 5 appearances in the first team at RB when I needed him and he performed to a competitive level.

YP1c - Enrico Riboli - Another player who looks like he could progress nicely. Yet to make a first team appearance and I plan on sending him away on loan.

Manager:

As for me, I recently signed a new two year contract which should keep me there until 2017. After the stressful end of season I had, I think I might take a holiday back home to Eastbourne, England. I hear the weather is nice at the moment so hopefully I can catch some rays while watching the tennis before we go again next year.

Next Season:

Next season should be a good one, hopefully I can strengthen up the defence to ensure we concede less goals. If we start the same as we finished then I see no reason why we can't push for play-off's but realistically I am aiming for a mid table finish and perhaps a bit of a cup run to boost finances. A lot of players have retired or left on a free so there are some areas that need strengthening but at least now my squad size is more manageable. Still got too many pesky U19's though.

Not much to say. I was very confident to get promote. Bremen and I was too good for the 2.Bundesliga. I was only 3th in 2.Bundesliga Manager of the Year Award and my Team lost only 2 Games after the winter break.

Funny Fact: Braunschweig relegated to the 3.Liga and plays next year Euro League ( Cup Final against Schalke).

Best Player: Francesco Marin - He is a great servant and was my Goalgetter with 19 Goals in 31 Games. He played the most time as a right winger so it was a very good perfomance.

Newcomer of the Season: Frederik Andersson - His first year was okay but his second season was great. A key factor for the easy promote and a top rating with 7.28 ( th best player in the 2.Bundesliga). He and Marin was also in the Team of the Year.

Three of my talents was in the Fritz-Walter Awards.

U18: 2nd Hans-Werner Landgraf, 3th Christoph Frank

U19: 2nd Sebastian Maurer

Transfers

The Transfer window closed and I got a offer that i couldn't turn down. 14,75m Euros from America for my left Winger Luis Ibergüen. He was in 5 Games superb with 8 Scorerpoints and 3 MoM Awards. I buyed him for only 60k...columbian national player and world cup participant but the offer was too good.

Also i had 2 new goalies. One in summer and one in winter because my first goalie had some stupid mistakes so i need and wanted to act.

Two of my turkish talents moving to Galatasaray 2025. 4,8 Mio and 5 Mio, they are very desperate .

Youth

My Youth Team reach the National Youth Cup Final and lost against Schalke. My Youth Team was the better team but lost 2-1...but nevertheless a great achievement.

Daniel Hesse - 3,2 Mio offer from Bayern but i rejected. I'm excited if he getting so good like expected.

Season 2 - 2015/16 - End of Season Review

Campaign:

Serie C1/C: 5th (Predicted 19th)

What can I say? This season was much improved on the last. Once again Rossoblu were tipped for relegation but I managed to strengthen some key areas and promote a certain youth player which gave us a strong push for promotion. Unfortunately we struggled with injuries throughout and an untimely international call up for our new CB meant we were struggling to field a full strength team. Nevertheless the team rallied on and we fell just two points behind the play-off places.

Serie C Cup: 1st Knockout Round

Once again nothing exciting. Made it out of the group with the same points total as last season (3) but then got knocked out in the first round.

Club:

Our reputation has improved slightly as we have now managed to confirm ourselves as a solid Serie C/C side. The club announced a new affiliation with Serie A side Napoli. Although it appears to be frowned upon to get loans from affiliates it is always useful to garner some extra income from them. A combined total of £105k will be received from our two affiliates each year. As for the chairman, it appears he is looking to step aside, and we are currently in takeover talks. Potentially his last move as chairman saw him introduce some new kits for the 2016/17 season, apparently showing his love for cheese as he accepted a new 1 year kit-sponsorship from Italian cheese company Galbani who also provide some lovely post match cheese and wine selections. Once again we end the season in debt but hopefully that will change in the coming weeks. As for the facilities. "due to technological advances our training facilities have been downgraded" so basically I need some money so I can upgrade them.

Best XI|Squad|Tactics

This season saw a change in tactic as I opted for a less defensive formation and wanted to crowed out and dominate in the midfield, something that I feel we achieved, to do this we changed to a 4-1-2-1-2 Central. We picked up where we left off at the end of last season and we had a very consistent season. It was tough to see a few key faces get hit with some serious inuries but thankfully the back up players put in some competitive performances.

Key Players:

Kiko (23) - LB - Had a lot of higher teams coming in for him but he was happy to stay and I wanted to keep him. Made the decision to reject a £500k bid for him. In all another solid season 5 goals (all set pieces... one directly from a corner).

Pietro Ballistreri (30) - ST - Another solid season grabbing 12 goals and 8 assists until a fractured rib in February cut his season short.

Sherry Kindo Kamara (22) - ST - After his good form at the end of last season, he was excellent throughout this time bagging 19 league goals and 13 assists with an avg. rating of 7.13.

Alessandro Ballini (17) - CAM - Exceptional. At 16 for the most part, he filled in a couple of games at CM and CAM. At CAM he shone through and held that position until a torn calf muscle kept him out form march. 6 goals, 10 assists, 5 Pom, 7.36 avg. rating. 21 apps.

Ins & Outs|Youth Intake

Pre-Season was a very successful time for us as we managed to bring in some strength and depth to our squad. We also managed to sell 3 players over the course of the season who weren't in my plans at all. £171k in and £0 out helped balance the books a little. Covering for the signing of Kiko last season. In January we managed to loan out a few youth prospects to the lower leagues who seemed to perform well and benefit from the first team football. Unfortunately this years intake of youth didn't live up to the expectation left by last seasons but still a few potentially useful players.

Youth Player to Watch

YP2 - Michelle Ciaurro - Another young GK to add to the squad, 4.5* with a few nice stats. If nothing else he might be able to fetch a few bob.

A far from stressful season however, I may have some stressful times ahead, as we face a potential takeover. Hopefully I will be able to keep my job. Anyhow planning on heading to Rio for a holiday this year, while I'm there I'll pop in and watch some of the Olympics, strangely England aren't entered in them.

Next Season:

As the 2016/17 season looms I have a few plans to ponder about while in Brazil. Next season I want to play a more free flowing, passing game, playing even less defensively but at the same time keeping a solid defence. We conceded 42 goals, so next season I would like to keep it to less than 1 per game. It is going to be difficult with the finances the way that they are the wages have been cut marginally so a few players will have to be released whilst I may have to sell a certain big player. If we keep improving then we should get promotion next season. Hopefully.

Rot-Weiss Essen 2023 / 2024

Season

OMG what a season as a promoted team. We finished 7th in the League and was most of the time on the 5th place but at the end we hadn't the power to fight for an international place.

Nevertheless a great season for us and we was the Overachiever Team of the Season.

Gladbach (2.Bundesliga) was in the Cup Final so the 7th place is not international. With a few transfers i'm confident that we can surprise next season too..

First Round was good but the defeat against Düsseldorf (2.Bundesliga) was not acceptable. At the beginning i had a good run so it was very suprising to lose at home.

The prize money was a good income so i can renew the contracts without probs next year.

Squad

Best Player: Francesco Marin - First or Second Division, it doesn't matter! Francesco Marin scores and scores. 17 Goals was again a great performance and the most time he plays as a right or left winger. Now he is the new RW Essen Record Goal Scorer. A great record and shows how important he is.

Fredrik Andersson - Another good season from my playmaker. He getting better and better!

Transfers

I signed only a CB at the begin of the season. My Team played well so to be "inactive" was the right decision.

Youth

Antony Buchwald - Finishing 15 with only 17 years. Loaned to Wehen (2.Bundesliga) when he was only 16 years old.

The 3th good striker from my youth and it getting hard to give all of them playing time in the future.

Stats

Won nothing this year....Overachiever Team of the Season but seems that the Manager are useless .

I have decided to give FM another crack after finishing the dafuge challenge earlier this year

headed to Scotland and after reading the first few pages of this thread saw that promotion does start in 2015 so I have sorted all that out. Only saw 4 clubs promoted when reloading though, anyone else see the same ?

Good luck in Scotland deadfncat I personally haven't tried the challenge their but I did have a save going early on in the year with Stirling Albion and the same teams kept getting promoted and relegated from league 2 (got into 2023) only saw a maximum of 5 other teams that aren't usually in the league 2

Season Targets

After last seasons 2nd place finish, we were looking to challenge for the title in the league whilst competing in the group stage of the champions league for the first time.

Taca De Portugal

After coming through the first 3 rounds we entered with 2 3-0 and 1 3-1 wins we found ourselves in the Quarter Final against our arch nemesis Benfica, who had beat us in all domestic competitions last season and in the 13 previous meetings we had never beaten them.

This was a match that we were excellent in as we took the lead after 14 mins through a tap in from Jansson. We held the lead at 1-0 into the second half when Jansson set up both Joao Pedro and substitute Bimbao to put us 3-0 up before Benfica got a consolation goal after 88 mins.

Fantastic result for us in beating Benfica for the first time.

The 2 legged semi-final drew us against Porto. The tiredness of our players due to many tough games in a row reflected in our first leg performance at home as we struggled the whole game and were fortunate to leave with a 1-1 draw.

The second Away leg required goals from us to be able too progress and we got off to the perfect start as Castillo scored after only 2 mins. Porto equalised 20 mins later to level the match. We continued to push forward and were rewarded when Bimbao scored to put us ahead again but also to give us that extra away goal.

The second half went well as we increased our lead through Souza after 66 mins before Porto pulled one back. Castillo got his second of the game in injury time to see us win 4-1 on the night and 5-3 on aggregate.

The Final was against Sporting and we played fantastic throughout the match, limiting them to only 3 shots in the whole match.

We therefore won the cup for the first time with a 2-0 win.

Fixtures | Final

League Cup

We entered the competition in the group stage up against Pacos Ferreira, Belenenses and Nacional de Madeira. With 2-0, 1-0 and 3-2 wins we qualified from the group and into the Semi-Final.

Sporting were our opposition in the semi-final and it was a struggle as all our top scorers were not able to take their chances. Eventually we took the lead but only through an own goal. It turned out to be the deciding moment as we won 1-0.

We faced Benfica in the final for the second year running (after a 1-1 draw we lost last years final on penalties). Both of us had chances during the game but were not able to take them and so the match ended goalless and again we went into a penalty shootout.

The first 6 penalties were all scored but the 7th penalty was missed and it was our Joao Pedro and with the next 2 penalties being scored it looked as though we were going to lose 5-4. Then Benfica missed the vital penalty so we were level 4-4 after 5 pens and into sudden death.

The next 2 pens were both missed then the next 2 were scored. Daniel scored for us before Benfica missed their next penalty to give us the victory 6-5 on pens.

This victory gave us our first ever top level trophy.

League - Premier League

A fantastic season saw us lose only 1 game out of 30. We drew 4 games and scored 79 points.

Still we were not able to win the league as we were pipped by 1 point by Benfica.

EUROPEAN CAMPAIGN

Champions League

We had qualified straight into the group stage and drew Schalke, Inter and Sevilla.

We got a 0-0 draw at home to Inter but really we should have taken atleast 1 of the many chances that we had.

We then sneaked a 2-1 win away at Schalke in a time that we were very evenly matched and followed this up with 2 wins against Sevilla.

A 2-1 win over Inter guaranteed our progress from the group in 1st even with the 2-0 defeat to Schalke in the last game of the group.

The 1st Knockout round was against AC Milan. A brilliant performance at the San Siro saw us run out 3-0 winners with goals from Jansson, Hajji and Joao Pedro.

Ac put us under real pressure in the second leg and took the lead in the 34th min. They continued to attack and created alot of chances but were not able to add to the 1 goal. In the end we were able to break clear in the 84th min for Souza to score, level the match 1-1 and end the tie as 4-1 winners.

The Quarter Final was against Man. United. The first Home leg saw United as the better side as they took the lead in the first half through Wilfried Zaha. In the second half we rallied and took our chances as Felipe scored twice in quick succession to give us a 2-1 lead after 71 mins. We blew it though as Danny Welbeck and Insigne scored in the last few mins to give Man. United a 3-2 away win.

The match at Old Trafford was another exciting match. United twice took the lead but twice we were able to equalise through Castillo and Souza. We tried but failed in getting the 3rd goal which would have sent the tie into extra time. So we bowed out 5-4 on aggregate.

Players

Rafael Veloso - Played alot more this season and had the least goals conceded and most clean sheets.

Luciano Culio - Played less this season as he wasn't as good as last year when he had won premier league goalkeeper of the year.

Emilio Zeballos - Had an excellent season at right back with an average rating of 7.25 and 10 assists.

Martin Laros - Backup right back who was decent when used.

Garrincha - Backup left back who did well when called upon with an average rating of 7, 2 goals and 3 assists.

Clayton - After being dissapointed with him last year i kept faith in him and he was our first choice left back this season. His average rating of 7.14 shows he stepped up and had a good season.

Alexandre Alfaiate - Bought for 230k as a decent player to rotate, he was also portuguese which i needed for the league cup. He did well in the games that he played in

Marvin Gonzalez - Best centre back at the club and he had a very good season.

Lautaro Manquez - Backup centre back who played very well in the 17 games he started.

Fabio Mariano - Our other first choice centre back who also had a very good season and even bagged 5 goals.

Ndongo Daniel - Used in various positions to rest regular starters. Had an average season. Think i will be letting him go when his contract is up in the summer.

Junior - Solid season for our defensive midfielder.

Claudio Ibraim - Used as cover and from the bench and got 7 assists.

Joao Pedro - Another Potuguese player i bought in the summer for the bargain price of 140k. He had an excellent season with 6 goals and 13 assists and won the Portuguese National Player of the Year.

Jose Manuel Amado - Yet another portuguese player i bought but was only used as a backup. Average season.

Felipe 2 - Barely used this season.

Souza - Yet another brilliant season for Souza. 7.42 average rating, 18 goals and 20 assists. He signed a new contract in December though HSV are lurking and were offering 6m+ in January. He was also named in the league Team of the Year and 2nd in player of the year

Muhammed Hajji - Bought from Chelsea for 550k our club record signing. Muhammed has a lot of potential and had a very good 1st season. with 13 assists. We just need to improve his finishing.

Felipe - Was excellent in the champions league with 6 goals but i was dissapointed with him only scoring 8 goals in the league.

Nicolae Rata - Used as a backup and picked up 2 goals.

Ricardo Castillo - Had a very good season and picked up 11 league goals from just over half of the games as Felipe.

Johannes Jansson - This seasons top goalscorer with 23 goals.

Bimbao - Signed on a free to give us more squad depth up front. He did well in the limited opportunities and bagged 6 goals and 9 assists.

A very rough season unfortunately.

Really a tale of three stages for us. We started out horribly, failing to win in our first 12 league games. Then we turned things around with 9 wins in our next 16 games climb clear of the relegation spots. And then our offense disappeared as we failed to win in our last 8 games and ended up in the relegation playoff where we played a pair of scoreless draws with Livingston before losing on penalty kicks. We also failed miserably in our cups, only managing one win against a lower level team and falling to fellow relegated team Morton and League 2 side Annan.

We started off the season with defensive issues as the one center back I was counting on, Gerry McLauchlan, fell apart, making mistake after mistake. Eventually I solidified things a bit by dropping my defense deep in most games and youngsters Connor Paterson and Graeme Sutherland became fixtures in my defense. The young pair of strikers I signed, Liam Blain and Simon Black, lived up to expectations. Black scored 14 goals with 10 assists while Blain netted 13 and 5. But they didn't get much help. I also panicked a bit during my initial poor streak, selling midfield mainstay Gavin Morrison and bringing in a young hotshot, Jamie Mustoe, an Aston Villa washout. He was serviceable but not as productive as Morrison had been.

I was pretty well set up if we had survived with most of my young team signed for the upcoming season. But with relegation, I have a large number of players looking for transfers. If I can retain my young strikers and solidify the defense, I think we can bounce back up to the Championship quickly.

Apologies for the lack of activity for me in recent weeks… been busy trying to do some work on my garden as it is currently like a field for long grass (we moved into a new build which was previously a field – the garden is like the field used to be currently). In addition to this we’re trying to clear the back bedroom ready for our baby which is due in July.

I'm still playing with SVW Mannheim, also overdue a season review. I've played one more season since winning the Bundesliga - we handed the title back to FC Bayern, went out the Champions League in the Quarter Final to Marseille (very disappointing), but retained the DFB-Pokal. This latest season has started off well, unbeaten after 11 games in the league. I broke our transfer record in the summer, spending £40m on a central defender who can also play as a target man

Modena, Brescia and Napoli were but a nuisance on Ragusa's way to the Final. After a rescilient performance in the Final, Milan lifted the Italian Cup with a 1 - 2 win.

Champions Cup - Final

Anderlecht, Barcelona and Rapid Wien were in the same Champions Cup group with Ragusa, but there was no resisting the Sicilians. After winning Man Utd, Inter and Liverpool, it was time for Ragusa to take on Man City in the Final. My team pretty much dominated the match, but no goals were scored, and it was penalties that decided the winner. Man City won.

Serie A - 1st (Predicted 1st)

This season did not begin well, and the preformances on the pitch were somehow sluggish. Some of my players became unhappy about undeperforming, but everyone except Francesco Di Marsilio were willing to listen to reason. Di Marsilio requested transfer, and soon after announced he was going to leave the club at the end of the season when his cotract was running out. I didn't want to have any of that, and offered him to other clubs and relegated him to reserves. He left for Lyon in January without playing another game for Ragusa. Meanwhile Iblei's form improved and my team steamrolled to another Serie A Championship.

Coppa Italia - Final

First we took Cagliari, then we took Torino and Roma... The Final adversary Pescara offered no real opposition, and were swept aside with an easy 3 - 0 win.

Champions Cup - Semi Final

Qualifying from a group consisting of Benfica, Chelsea and Steaua was closer than I would have liked, but Ragusa then won Olympique de Marseille and Sampdoria to get to the Semi Finals against Man Utd. The game in Manchester ended 3 - 2 for Man Utd. The return leg in Ragusa saw my team overpower the red Devils, but no goals were scored and Manchester United went to the Final where they defeated Inter.

Alfier is already a true veteran. Despite beginning to deteriorate, he is still a good player.

Important midfielder. Vice captain after Alfieri.

The first eason with over 20 league goals.

Cosenza 10 (TEN)-3 Metalist

Calabró is also showing some signs of aging. His dribbling skill has decreased noticeably from what it was at best. 18 league goals.

Nuova Cosenza - Season 2029-30

Italian Cup

Target: Quarter Final

An easy opening win against lower-league Pisa, with Zach Maddox netting a hat-trick to secure the win. A minor point of interest - that Pisa's squad had 2 former Cosenzans, Lucas Henrich and Fahri Akdag, turned meaningless as neither played.

The second round, against Juventus, was tougher, and we were throughly beaten.

Target: First Knockout Round

The play-offs drew us against Wisla with the away leg first. A good defensive performance from the Poles was finally broken by Frane Gabric on the stroke of half-time. Edmond Cela headed in a second after the break, giving us the advantage going back to Italy. The second leg saw Gabric score a first half hat-trick, before some poor defending (and an injury to goalie Marley Wallace) let Wisla level the match on the night. Gabric swiftly added a 4th to silence any thoughts of a comeback, before Emanuele Marro scored a 5th and final goal, giving us a decisive victory.

The group draw gave us Rubin of Russia, Olympiakos of Greece and Partizan of Serbia. First off we went to Belgrade, and came away with a win after Roberto headed in a corner and Arif Ipek took advantage of some poor defending to get a second. Two early goals from Zach Maddox gave us an advantage against Rubin, which was extended by Jan Meisel and Teimuraz Todua to put us in a good position after two games. It looked like we would continue this good form in Greece, with Maddox scoring in the 6th minute, but two Olympiakos goals late in the first half consigned us to our first defeat of the Europa League campaign.

The return fixture in Cosenza was significantly better for us, however. Cela headed a goal early on and a Meisel free-kick was knocked in by Gabric to complete the win. We stayed in Cosenza for the next fixture, against Partizan, and secured qualification with an easy win despite Gabric being sent off for two yellow cards (the second for a dive), with a double from Maddox being partnered with goals from Vinko Bago and Michel Onana. With qualification secured, the match in Russia was less relevant, but it was still disappointing that we failed to win. Regardless, we were in the next round.

In the 1st knockout round we headed off to Ukraine to play Metalist. Maddox gave us the lead 6 minutes in, and Gabric exteneded the lead less than 60 seconds later. It took until late in the second half for us to score again, but headed goals from both Todua and Cela gave us a four-goal advantage returning to Italy. Gabric opened the scoring six minutes into the second leg, with further goals from Libis Romana and Iyo Panayotov (the latter his first for the club), giving us a 3 goal lead at haf time. Metalist reduced the advantage early in the second half, but were quickly hit back by Gabric securing his hat-trick and Hichem Amiri making it 6. Two late Metalist goals were disappointments, but this tie had long since been over.

A trip to Anfield was our reward. A vastly more expensive Liverpool side dominated the match, and England international Alex Sloane got the reds their breakthrough in the 40th minute. That was it though, and we still had hope for the second leg. Meisel levelled up the tie in the 54th second of the home fixture and we continued strongly, but couldn't get the goal before Peter Cech was red-carded for a dive. From there the tie swung Liverpool's way, and they finally secured the win in the 87th minute through Scottish midfielder Ben Bruce. And that was our Europa League for 2029-30.

We started OK, but fell away from the top with a poor run of form in November and December. Throughout the season we looked like a lower Europa League spot was to be our best hope, but late on we hit top form and charged up, first into the Europa League spots, then all the way to the Champions League, finally finishing 3rd, well off Juve but stil in a Champions League qualifiying position.

S MC 35 Iyo Panayotov (BUL) - Came in half-way, and became a regular with a late tactical switch
