  1. Know what you mean, the last time I got proper immersed was during covid and wrote about it in a blog! https://pressfiretoplay.wordpress.com/2020/05/10/football-manager-2026-world-cup/
  2. Due to my low resolution, how would I remove the bottom right area (where it says Dynamics & Happiness). Would be great if I could remove so the player attributes stretched out as currently they're squashed on my poor laptop.
  3. Apologies, windows was scaled at 125 which is why it behaved strangely. Put it to 100 and alls fine now...well apart from the fact I really need a new laptop with a bigger screen lol
  4. Mods, please sort out the absolute numpty in this thread who has decided to attack the OP - the OP incidentally which is breathing new life into FM2023. Wouldn't mind but I got a warning for posting an observation in the off topic forum that wasn't aimed at anyone, but an actual contributer, i.e. the OP in this thread is getting bullied for trying to make FM a better game. Hats off to this skin! It may just have saved FM for me. Probably cause I don't have a gaming laptop but I just find dark skins so...well, dark. FM is all about the vibrancy, being bright. Not playing it in a cave. It may be the skin that makes me want to purchase FM2023 - thank you. Update: Unfortunately on my resolution of 1920x1080 with 100% scaling, it's not playable unfortunately. Looks absolute mint and if i had a better display it would be my skin of choice. But on my current resolution it does not show all the data on the player profile.
  5. He's asking if there is merchandise of FM that can be purchased. Unfortunately there is none mate, here you go https://merchandise.footballmanager.com/ best bet is to go on Google and type in 'Football Manager merchandise' and see if anyones created anything themselves.
  6. done that too but still get 'training report' emails and also 'available first team players for under 23 match' - honestly, this game is doing my head in
  7. Thank you but it doesn't work, as when you click continue to go next day, they're all ticked again
  8. I find training updates so tiresome and it literally destroys my soul a little more when I have to continually click on them. So much so I keep on going back to FM18. But is there a way to remove them? I've tried th filter system but this resets itself after each click of continue.
  9. I brought FM21 and FM22, but weirdly, I just prefer FM18. Reason for this is mostly in that FM18 I was playing the Touch mode and so there is far less clicking. But more important than that, everything related to the tactic is on one screen, whereas in the versions after, it's on 3. You don't know what you're doing half the time and some of the instructions directly contradict each other. i.e. lets say you want to play a low block, you still get option of Advanced Forwards, Poachers etc. Should be defensive forward and defensive target man only surely. Basically from FM20 they just introduced too many variables to the tactics when there was simply no need. Plus, although you can delegate lots of roles, those incessant ones about training updates are so tiresome beyond belief. I really want to get into the new ones because they are ultra slick, but they're just not fun for me.
  10. Are you watching on key highlights? if so then surely every bad mistake is going to end up in a goal as it's invariably a key highlight? Reading Alans post above alarms me also in the sense that if pre-patch, the match engine did have more chaos and watching a game in League 2 was different to the prem, then SI nailed it, but because of poor feedback they then reverted back. SI should have gone into much more detail when doing the preview videos, similar to the ones done on The Athletic podcast.
  11. I wonder if peoples issues would be the same if they were watching in 2D as opposed to 3D? In 2D your brain fills in the gaps whereas 3D is there for all to see and as has been discussed numerous times, it ain't pretty.
  12. It would haven been Football Manager on the 48K spectrum and recall my friend who had a swanky C64 played a management game called 'The Double', I think it was. Another pal had a game on the MSX where you could improve the stadium and even have crowd trouble lol Played a lot of Player Manager on the Amiga too. Absolutely class game and now I have a mini-Amiga I may load it back up! Graham Taylors Manager was great too as was the newer more polished ones such as Premier Manager and one where you could improve the stadium (Ultimate Soccer Manager?) But in relation to SI's output... Been playing FM since the Championship Manager days. Recall getting CM1, a copy on the Amiga but it mysteriously crashed and wouldn't load up again, same occured to friends original. Asked my Dad if I could have it for Christmas and owner said they had taken it off the shelf because of game breaking bugs (the more things change... lol) When it came out again I got a copy (hey, I've purchased genuine ever since CM2 ) brief bit on every one I've played: CM1 - 1st release. Awesome but stopped working CM1 v2 - Awesome, awesome game. Took 2 and half hours to load up a new season though but that just gave me time to dream of plans for the new season CM1 v3 - Now took 20 minutes to load up a new season - bliss! CM Italia - Went halves with a friend and really liked it! CM2 - Red CD with Clive Tyldsley commentary. Who needs an Amiga now? Massively tough though, how hard is it to win away?! CM2 with Patch - A much more enjoyable game if I recall CM97/98 - Think this may have now included the Bosman and loads of bug fixes but the biggie was the ability to play 3 different leagues. Started with Barcelona and it was the most slick CM until FM came out imho CM01/02 - Boring. Everyone goes on about this but I found it weirdly difficult to get into. Hated 3 players being starred too. CM3 - Loved it, even more leagues! Just had a terrific football feel and was released in the midst of the Internet and being an active participant in #CM0102 #Champ-Man I made lots of online friends, doing a downloadable magazine and CM Lightning Downloads Can't remember any other releases until... CM4! - But oh boy, had loads of bugs and complaints? I didn't care. I watched Birmingham vs WBA...not the highlights, the whole game. Had a weird bug where your opponents would be randomly given a goal. I loved it. CM4 v2 - unsure what year it was but I'm assuming it was released before the split to Football Manager - I liked it and the backdrop for this was moving into my first house. So I had to win the FA Cup with Bolton before I never played it again (how wrong I was...despite 2 kids and a wife, I've always found time since! FM 2005 - Loved the slickness of it. Didn't know it needed this spruce up but loved it. FM 2006 - An even better default skin and the downloadable graphics made it even better. Loved it. and so until FM12...but by this time I just couldn't get into it. Started to get too much going on but the backdrop to this for me was having a 2 year old to look after so imagine my welcome suprise when... FM13 Classic - Forget full fat, it's all about the streamlined version. Such an enjoyable game that I stopped buying FM until... FM18 - Loved this game. Did get FM16 but couldn't get into it, ditto for FM17. FM18 though was the last iteration of FM before a rebrand and I guess similar to peoples high opinions of CM0102 (but not mine), this was the pinnacle for the game at the time. At the time though? I still play it. No annoying media questions, good regens/newgens coming through. Very playable long term (apart from a dearth of left sided inside forwards) and the ability to do Tactics all on one page. FM20 - Too difficult, two complex and no answer to my many questions on the now 3 pages of options of tactics. FM21 - May as well have brought the demo given how little I played it...back to FM18 I went FM22 - Last attempt to actually try and get into FM. Slick as hell and I did finish a few seasons but I relied upon hours of digesting YouTube videos to actually get into it and have some sembelance of understanding of the middle tactic change (counter, counter press etc.) FM23 - Now the defensive line and attacking line have been simplified, I'm tempted but I always find myself going back to FM18 and given how much it's been critisized, I'm not prepared to buy an FM that's going out at an inflated price.
  13. From what was one screen in FM18 and before it, it's now 3 screens. But for me, it would just as easily go back to one screen with the nature of attack (Standard, Counter, Attack etc.) dictating the defensive line because why would you choose 'attacking' but then your defensive line is deep? - So no need for that graphic If you select Counter then your goal keeper is then automatically set to distribute quickly - so now no need for that. Bring back 'Structured, Fluid toggle and then suddenly you don't need any of the In Transition stuff. Or at the very least, if you are going to have 3 screens then please 'red out' anything contradictory. Happens with some stuff but not any of the new options. So if I'm playing Attacking, then disable any notion of Low Block and Deep defensive line.
  14. Really like your skin, FM looks so much better with a white skin. With all the resource they have and the millions they make each year, it's shocking they don't include a myriad of skins with the game out of the box
  15. So I'm presuming there's no way to filter the incessant Messages we receive during the game in FM22?
  16. How do I turn off most of the media items that appear in the news. Tried the filters and they don't stay on: Reserve team info Training News Post Match Review on and on and on, so frustrating!
  17. Is this from FM2021? I see this area in FM22 and FM23, but no option to never receive advice
  18. Now the dust has settled on FM23 and lots of quality skins have come out, has anyone figured out how to utilise the fancy cup draw module of the European tournaments but apply it to other tropies? i.e. I believe the FA Cup using the cup draw module but it uses stock graphics and it just looks bland. Is there a way to spruce it up and give it that slick glossy feel that the UEFA tournaments have?
  19. thank you for the reply and I did de-select certain items but then clicking continue and they all go back on
  20. Training update...I don't care Players who might not be fit for a game...I don't care, I'll see on matchday when I'm selecting the team Previous Match Analysis...I don't care, I've just seen it I just want a more streamlined experience. The way you can delegate full fat version is quality but it's hampered by constant clicking in the inbox. I've seen the filters but they don't seem to stay on. Is there a way to simply stop seeing certain news items?
  21. There's a reason why despite owning FM21 and FM22, I always go back to FM18 Touch. So much more fun with a stripped back game and prefer the older interface too. The new tactics screen I struggle with (FM18 is one screen for all options FM20+ and it's myriad of with ball in transition etc is just asked for trouble) and the match day interface needs unofficial panel mods to make it playable. Really wanted to get FM23, but it sounds a complete nightmare and sounds like the blue touch paper has been out with its core user base
  22. It's very amaterish from SI I have to say. From the placeholder graphic which looks like a players head is on back to front, to this. Absolute shoddy. What concerns me is that YouTubers who know the game better than anyone as they play it for a living, are saying it's basically the same as FM22. What on earth have SI been doing the past 12 months? In my job I have meetings every few days, in other jobs I've had meetings every day. It's what you do when working in an 'agile' environment. So what on earth have people been saying in these meetings that contributed to a game of none too many features?
