  1. All this talk is why I still use 2D classic to be honest with you. 110% SI have put so much into the match engine and this why we never see the same goals over and over again. No-one could ever accuse it of being scripted and nor can it be, given the constant recalculations going on. However, the match engine is different to the match graphics. The graphics are merely place holders for the engine and it's these graphics which badly need to be improved. Don't pull the wool over our eyes and say there's 'x' new animations because even in the previews you see players sliding into position as they go from point A to point B. Been a long term player since the CM1 days on the Amiga. Does this mean my opinion carries more weight? Of course not. But thought it needed saying as there seems this belief from folk who don't want improved graphics, that it's only newer players clamouring for this. In reality, FM is touching the ceiling on what it can improve. Hence why the rebrand changed the match day skin when in reality the older way was great. This year a headline feature is official UEFA branding, so it's a natural extension that if SI are pushing more immersion through cool new graphics, then the next logical step and wish from fans is for the match graphics to be significantly improved. As a little sidenote, I recall seeing the graphics/skin for an online footy game SI did specifically for China (no FM live we had in Europe) and it blew me away how cool it looked. Ultimately, FM is all about immersion. Making the gamer believe they're a manager as best a game can. To do that SI have achieved amazing things with only one obstacle left to face...the Match graphics.
  2. I like the number within the stars of the tactics screen. Hope that makes it into the PC version
  3. Really hope other cup competitions have got the big game treatment, appreciate they won't have licenses for the FA Cup, but they can just use the fake graphics and of course, allow us to upload our own All in all though, it looks good and this comes from a jaded FM player tbh with you. Really think there needs to be less options not more for Tactics, but what I hope is there - that I suspect isn't - is things turning off by default if one of your other instructions conflicts. i.e. You specify a low attacking line but you're playing a poacher. You specify a low defensive line with offside trap but then you're asking them to close down to the max. Wouldn't make sense and would create a conflict. Also, need proper concrete help on the affects of all the tactics and how it can affect condition This whole notion to make the game less clicky is admirable but put it where it's really needed. Managers have always like to spend hours looking for players and not asking the scout to find them. However Training is a whole nother story. Absolute ball breaker and so make that simply. get rid of all the guff and just have a few buttons 'focus on next opponent' 'pre season fitness' etc.
  4. Hopefully none of this, player x is worth between 20k and 2m nonsense
  5. Now it's been announced it's being released on PS5 and with the promise that it's stripped down and easy (and quick) to play, I'm seriously thinking of buying it
  6. thank you for taking the time to post this - appreciate it
  7. Will I be buying FM2023? Definetly no I'm afraid. FM2021 and FM2022 both look amazing but to get it to a playable state, it does need constant mods from Michael Murray for the match day. But the one thing which cannot be amended is the poor interface for tactics. On FM2018 and before it, you had one screen where you could switch from Counter to Attacking, move defensive line up etc. Now it's on 3 tabs and you don't know what half the things do either as SI have never taken the time to actually compile a manual on it.
  8. This is an amazing idea if there was a wiki. Imagine having screenshots from the game and a key to show what panel is being used and an example on how to modify
