  1. Limited information to work with when there's no tactics, or screenshots from matches etc. If its such a persistent issue then it seems like you're mismanaging your squad going into these games and indeed bringing about complacency. I use a formation that defends like a 5-2-3, switches to a 4-3-3 and eventually attacks as a 4-1-5. So for very aggressive games the average position tends to have my front line quite even in a line. I can make a quick assessment about 20 minutes into a game. Based on the average position, adjust the mentality. That would be the thing I'd suggest at least taking a look at in your games. This is from my match against 20th placed Sunderland, I got an early goal 4 minutes in so I wasn't paying too much attention as I was already winning. However, you can clearly see the average position has my team way too far up the pitch. I got a second just after half time though and saw out a 2-1 win. A couple games later I had 19th placed Leicester, and I noticed things were following a similar trend so I dropped my mentality from Balanced to Defensive: It allowed Leicester to push up a bit more, my team were a little deeper. Not hugely, but having that extra 10-15 yards to work with is often times the difference maker. Especially with the best players. This game was a much more comfortable 8-1 win. Should the average position for the defensive line reach the point where its on the half way line that is an entirely negative scenario in my mind. It means you're pushing the opposition back so much they've got little hope other than a long ball out and turning it into a straight up sprint between their forward & your defender.
  2. If you're using the in-game editor then I believe you can see the hidden asking price value, which is what a club would take to agree to a transfer as it stands. However, I don't believe that has much in the way of exceptions for clauses/staggered deals etc. In terms of the games display, there isn't any real benefit to the way it used to be displayed. Often times it was even further afield from how a club valued their players than the current system. So it kind of comes down to what it is you're wanting to understand/know.
  3. Bad Tackle is listed in the Serious Offence section. So 2 games for it being a second red of the season + 2 games for a bad tackle would be the likely reason.
  4. From the perspective of the researcher side of things, I wouldn't be a big fan of having to sort data out during the summer months for a current FM update on one hand and also prepare the data for the next FM title at the same time. Appreciate it may not be the clearest of subjects to those outside the research team, but it feels like the logistics to pull it off would be a nightmare.
  5. Shortening a development period by 3 months is never really going to work. I believe it has been discussed before and that is the biggest barrier.
  6. It's going to vary a bit depending on which particular model/year it is. I'm not too well versed on Macbooks, but if its one of the latter intel based CPU's you have in it, there might not be too much that can be done with how hot they ran.
  7. Why would a player who's satisfied with what has been said be told they need to knuckle down and get on with things? It reads to me as Left to Right: 1: I'm not winning you around with what I'm saying, but I'll fix it by bringing in some players. 2: I'm not winning you around with what I'm saying, but I'll fix it by changing tactics. 3: I'm sorry you don't like what I'm saying, but it's only going to get better if you just crack on with it. That includes those who are unhappy. 4: Glad to have convinced you, good chat.
  8. I do see the point that its not clearly presented in any way. It's something I could very much expect would not read well to someone who isn't a native speaker of English. How well it holds up into translations in other languages, I'm not knowledgeable enough to know. But somehow, just through the context its completely understandable to me which one is referring to which. The first three cater to the negative/orange reactions, the last one caters to positive/green reactions.
  9. There is an enormous difference between headers/players height and putting out there is a causal link between missing headers, which is the reason for a lower match rating, whereby a lower match rating is reducing morale and in turn this resulting in the AI scoring their first shot on target.
  10. I mean you almost grasped the point there. Came so close... it was fully written out, it seem like you had comprehended it... and then you went down a weird tangent about it being to defend the game. For the sake of clarity, it was literally to point out, it's a game. From time to time there are going to be oddities, if you challenge every oddity in a game with "show me where it happens in real life" then there are plenty of those "gotcha" moments about FM. The first and foremost being the manager of any team in the game. Based on the nature of the thread, I would assume the OP is Barcelona, and unhappy with the comeback. So should we be lamenting the fact Barcelona did score 6 in this game in the first place? While I was referring to 27 shots on target resulting in 12 goals for less than 50%, if your employer only drops in 60% of your wages into your bank come pay day would you be as likely to dismiss it as "virtually every penny paid"? I doubt it.
  11. Do you have any kind of evidence to back up these kinds of whimsical thoughts?
  12. Any already existing keys can be purchased however. So any retailers (these days more likely to be the online sellers) who have keys can still sell them. However, getting as far back as FM11 is likely to be a push.
  13. It's not that they necessarily want you to get a lot of set pieces awarded, but rather want you to be dangerous at them. It's perhaps a little archaic as a mindset, but Roberto Carlos, David Beckham, and closer to home personally, Rory Delap they added a stand-out style to teams for their set pieces.
  14. Less than 50% of the shots on target were goals and that is somehow virtually every shot? It's clearly way out there in terms of possibility and obviously been some spectacular failures along the way for a team leading by 6 to throw it away. But if you're really going to make the appeal of "show me where this would happen against Barcelona" consider under what circumstances would you ever be allowed to manage a team against Barcelona in the first place?
  15. From what I've read, it sounds like up to 1GB can be requested by developers for their save games. This was a couple of years old but don't necessarily see Steam having made any major revamps since then. It's likely at this point you'd have to switch to local storage.
  16. @ZWS I'm by no way great with tactics, but not too in-depth. Just to get a surface level understanding of what shapes they've faced up against. So Arsenal are one of my main contenders in the league, recently lost to Fulham so I just click into the game: I can see the 4-3-3 has caused them problems, click in to get more details, see the heatmap etc: Check some other games, AS Monaco also got a result out of them with the same shape as did Liverpool. I know that a 4-3-3 in some guise is likely to work well against them. How I then shape my team to that varies. However, I have a 4-4-2, 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 all ready to go. It isn't a sure thing, but seeing which formations consistently yield results against a team can identify where there are weaknesses. My current 3 shapes are based on the most common weaknesses other teams in my league have.
  17. Truly a bizarre request. But perhaps there are fellow nasal hair enthusiasts who really support this. I do worry how you feel this may in turn impact your players ability to score penalties, but nevertheless its in the features requests section.
  18. Limited utility in this I feel, unless they're a very similar side to yourself. A lot of the teams I face have players I wouldn't particularly make use of or are, at this stage in my save, inferior and so cannot live up to as demanding roles. The shapes/formations they line up and how they counter them is possibly of use. I've adapted a number of formations based on looking at what beats the rival teams I'm struggling with.
  19. Well its not really a tactic or training guide either is it? You've framed it as getting CL football with a squad CA of 100-115 - which reads like it'd be an open challenge to others to do the same. Or an experiment to see where the line is for the worst headline CA squad you can get to qualify. Is it a good approach to play what has largely kind of become one of this years meta tactical approaches with a lower reputation team within that competition? Absolutely. Is it really a solid, long term, tactical approach and squad approach on which you can rely. Well you haven't demonstrated that.
  20. No real quick answer to this one I'm afraid. It's always going to depend on the opposition. Against stronger teams than my side, I tend to find it easier if I go more attacking. They're less likely to shut up shop and soak up the pressure. For teams who've maybe got lucky against you and gotten a goal and are just now sitting a lot deeper, I tend to find trying to be a bit more restrained, play on the counter and importantly give them space to attack when they do get the ball. How exactly both of those work depends massively on your shape, your players etc. Probably worth a visit to the tactics forum.
  21. In my experience AI teams often go into matches without their players condition being perfect. Intensity of tactics will play a big role too. The AI switches between approaches during games and will not always be playing at its most intense. In my opinion overall the game is still far too forgiving on fatigue though, but the AI isn't getting any benefit over the human player. If anything, the human player with the right training set-ups and use of rest days can far out-perform the AI in keeping fatigue in the squad reduced.
  22. You can clearly see the condition is taking an impact, match load itself is just a display of what has happened recently. Whether it's displaying information or not, the players have still played the matches and had the impacts of this. Looking through my own game, either it may be somewhat tied to some level of analysis your club has or it may be a bug. I'm seeing it there for quite a number of players in my save, but equally there's a considerable amount it shows nothing for.
  23. Well you say you want to make sure you're not cheating... but by definition as manager you'd only be allowed to spend what the club allow you to spend. All money that comes into the club isn't necessarily going to be for you to spend. A club may not look to let you spend money before they've got it so there's a few things in that area to think about. But of course its your save & you're free to play as you deem fit. However, the calculations will be based on different criteria, one of which likely is the clubs balance. At this stage though you're imposing variables on the game which it won't be built to handle in the most elegant manner.
  24. Have you tried saving it as a specific view in the drop down on the left hand side @Nessaja Wolf?
