  1. I agree with you that it is easier to fix a team defensively to stabilize them than it is to fix them offensively especially on the cheap.
  2. Good Luck in Berlin! I usually prefer to rescue Hertha in my saves but given your parameters this is the biggest team you could probably become manager of in Union Berlin.
  3. Congratulations on your new contract. I think the biggest thing you can do now is fulfill your objective of developing players using the youth system. That might keep you interested in the Viking job a little longer.
  4. Definitely a challenge! I played with them in a career that went from FM23 to FM24. I took them over after they had been relegated some years into the future. (2030's) and they had a huge debt that they kept refinancing. I got them promoted and started working toward solvency and the Lunatic board built a new stadium! I wish you well with the board.
  5. I expect 4 wins and 4 losses for you from that Champions league schedule, but you already banked the payday that will keep your team miles ahead of your domestic rivals.
  6. Another New Formation! Stuni is really "tinkering" but still getting results even with the personnel tulmult.
  7. Congratulations on your success so far. I may have to try this DOF Challenge myself.
  8. @Stuniverse I had never even noticed the club vision "Status" before and had to check myself. It does show your status, but I can only guess that available is an option. I loaded up my FM23/24 save and after a losing streak I am still "secure".
  9. A new formation! I like it! Too bad about the European Adventure. Now is the time to get ready to dominate Norway again so you get another chance at European Nights.
  10. A little bad at crossing for a Left Back but he does have room to grow. Also worried about his heading as well. But if he doesn't work out as a Left back, he could definitely be retrained as an Anchorman/Defensive Midfielder.
  11. You have a lot of good stats, so it isn't all smoke and mirrors. What's killing you is your players not taking their chances in front of goal.
  12. I will still be around lurking and commenting on yours and other updates. I think that it was becoming like work.....so it was time to stop. Since this is how I get away from work.
  13. I decided to retire. I wasn't happy with playing as a national Coach with all the vacation time between playing. Also, Work is getting busier as we end the school year. I will probably do another Career update this summer.
  14. Aspiotis was the player they were talking about in the preview, I guess. Do you have any Good Mentors on the team. Fabbian would work well with him if you move him to CM.
  15. I was sure that Bischoff would play well for you as he is naturally a Deep Lying Playmaker.
  16. To work on work rate, add the extra training session about Stamina to players with poor work rate. I am excited to see how you meet expectations, but with the players you brought in you should meet them.
  17. Fabbian will make a great addition to your team. In my save he was part of my Hertha team, and I kept him on as Vice-Captain and Super-Sub even though he was near the end of his career. (34-35 in 2038). He is good in and around the Box. Good Header of the ball and decent long shot also that was at 34-35 in my team! I was using him in a CM-A role.
  18. That Bobb signing is big time. I don't know if you would be able to pull it off in real life.
  19. You should have waited until after the Summer and offered him a contract then. Probably hasn't played enough for New Zealand yet. In general the player needs at least 10 caps and to have played in at least 30% of the recent matches to get a WP from my experience.
  20. USMNT June-July 2039 Friendlies and Gold Cup Manager's Thoughts I introduced some younger players to the team, and they contributed to our victories in the less crucial matches. We reached the Gold Cup final but lost it in the second half and during the penalty shootout. This tournament was the last for several players, as I am building a team for the 2042 World Cup. With nine players over the age of 30, many won't be part of the squad in 2042. Highlights The time between the Nation's Cup and the next USMNT call up went well with me checking up on some players and finding out who we would be playing in the Gold Cup (North American: Euros) Group Stage. We should have no problem with any of these teams and shouldn't really have to worry about anyone other than our Archrivals Mexico in the Final. My former club fired my successor for not winning Ligue 1........ As it got closer to call ups, I was seen at matches around the world to check on my players. I had a few weeks and a couple of Friendlies to play before the final list was turned in. I had a couple of Friendlies to play first with some younger players in the squad. The first Friendly went well and I was surprised by our dominance of the 30th ranked team. I rotated the squad and it was more of the same.....against the 46th ranked team. For some reason the USA Duty ended a week before the Gold Cup began. I made some last-minute adjustments due to injuries, but the team looked a lot like the one that played the friendlies. Some were shocked that I had left so many veterans out, but I am building towards World Cup 2042 not the glories of the past. Looking back this is one I could have used during the final. My former club made a shock hire and I am not sure it is realistic. GOLD CUP GROUP STAGE We had no real trouble in what was a practice session against Guyana was basically. This was supposed to be our toughest match, but we won it easily.....but they did score. Gold Cup Knockout Rounds The team made it to the Knockout rounds that started with a Quarterfinal. I reached a milestone I had never imagined when I began this odyssey in Wales. We were the expected favorites with a world ranking of 8th versus 69th! Gameday came and it was more of the same....... A star in his prime was chosen over a wonderkid that scored a brace...... We then awaited who we would play in the Semi-Final: The tournament sponsors were evidently keen on a final showdown between Mexico and the USA. We clobbered them and Mexico destroyed their opponents 8-0 in their Semi-Final! Gold Cup Final The dream final was set to go ahead. Selling out the "Big House" in Ann Arbor a dream come true........but how many will be USA fans? Mexico was favored and that must be due to my selections for the national team. I left some big names out. The buildup was like nothing I had seen before....... I had to back my boys and show confidence before the final..... The defeat was agonizing, especially after going into halftime with a 2-0 lead. This marked the final chapter for the "Old Guard." Looking ahead to the World Cup 2042, it's likely that many of these players will have retired. The U.S. men’s national team had a strong showing in the tournament, but their failure to secure victory on home soil was disappointing. Losing on penalties after being up 2-0 at halftime was particularly frustrating. The team feels they missed a golden opportunity and “bottled it.” The Board took a balanced view of the results. In the presser after I said this loss will only motivate us to do better in the future! Before I went back on vacation, I scheduled the Fall Friendlies. Management Report to be continued:
  21. It looks like you built a team to survive the AI Squadbuilding.
  22. The only 3 CB Formation of my own that worked was on FM22 I think a 3-1-4-2 without Wide CB's. in Slovakian League in FM 22. The only other 3 at the back that has worked for me is one @SixPointer's a 5-2-1-2 WB that he used in Norway with a Manager named Nesselquist. I borrowed it for my Career update at the time. I think it was one of the French updates I did about 1-2 years ago, and I tried it again with Preston North End in FM23.
