  1. The Tactics After careful analysis of the current squad, players attributes and players preferred moves, I've come to the conclusion that the 4-3-1-2 was the best option of tactic chosen. - It gives more room to Ouwejan, Brunner, Soppy and Murkin to operate on the flanks (Ouwejan is an excellent crosser, most of them have a good activity attribute) - None of my center forwards are creative, technical and I'm lacking wingers especially right wingers, so a front three with a number 10 to support two center forwards seems like the best option. Drexler is aging but still very capable and creative, and will start as a 10 to support Terrode and Karaman. - I have a mix of team instructions and players instructions. I have a very few players skilled in dribbling or quick, so I have as team instructions 'Dribble Less". I have a few players excellent in heading and good set piece takers, so "Play for Set Pieces" instruction is ticked. - My goalkepper (Muller) is not very good in passing or throwing, so he has "take fewer risks" as individual instruction. - Schallenberg is my Deep Lying Playmaker, a player I want to build on and I expect him to build the game from his position
  2. The Project As you may know, the famous club of Schalke 04 has since a few years a massive debt. In addition to sporting achievements and promotion of youth players, my ultimate target is to clear out the debt as soon as possible. How ? I intend to have a very rational economic approach of the club in terms of players transfers. Buy low, sell high, and sell my players when they are at the peak of value, peak of their carrer and when I estimate I can do a financial benefit when replacing them with another player, either from the market or from the youth teams. The Negative Balance and Debt As you can see, the situation is alarming. The game is started with Ouwejan and Fahrmann being transfer listed, but I changed this status as the first transfer windows has been desactivated in the game setup. My objective is to not be forced by the board to sell young players such as Ouedraogo or Topp. So, as from the first transfer window of January, I will try to sell players such as Fahrmann (who is the highest paid in the team) to improve the economical situation of the club. I know from tests than another loan will be taken out by the club to finance the negative balance for this season
  3. Firstly, let's introduce you to my Game Setup; As you have seen in the subject of the topic, I'm playing with the Football Manager 2023 version, with the laptop game. I care very much about the realism of the save: I want have something as close as possible to the reality of world football, and to see many leagues develop and have transfer activity even I dont play with them. So, I'm playing with the FM23 Data Update of Sortitoutsi that contains all transfers until mid October 2023, Promotions, Relegations, Updated Europeans Qualifications for the 2023/2024 football season. To the database file of transfers, I have added myself by the Football Manager Editor tool the main transfers of the winter window of January 2024 as per the website Transfermarkt, all transfers/loans of Bundesliga/Bundesliga 2, and a few transfers already officialized for the summer of 2024, again via the official listing of Transfermarkt (exemple, Eric Dier to be officially under contract with Bayern). Managerial changes and staff changes have been done too for all Bundesliga and Bundesliga together with a few other European Clubs (AS Roma, SS Lazio, Crystal Palace FC, Sevilla FC, Celta Vigo, Sheffield United, Olympique Lyonnais, Olympique de Marseille..) To that, I have added most of the files of the FM23 "Increase Realism" Megapack September update by Daveincid well known by the community, where a wonderful and massive job has been done to have a more balanced and realistic game. Finally, I have myself made a database file where I have updated stadium attendances of many clubs over the world based on the 2023/2024 statistics as per Transfermarkt. The reason for this is I was seeing sometimes through the Editor strange data between the minimal attendance and average attendance, the latter being less that the minimal attendance. Football Manager 2023 was for 2022/2023 season, so the data of attendances is from the 2021/2022 season, when there was still Covid19 restrictions. Then, I'm playing with no less than 36 leagues in playable mode: Germany until the lowest possible (third division) England, Italy, Spain and France two first-divisions, many European first divisions, the MLS, Brasilian, Mexican and Argentinan first league. Reason for this is that I want to see European Competitions taking place in the most fair conditions possible, with a maximum of clubs doing transfers, have regens, develop, as it is well documented that it doesnt happen when leagues are not downloaded or in view mode only. I want to avoid as much as possible grey players to in European or other competitions, so I have even added via the advanced setup all players of first divisions from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Uruguay, Chili, Colombia, Albania, Slovenia, Cyprus.. and many others. I would have wanted to add Saudi Arabia as a league but doing so was giving me 4000 players more to my game, I dont know why, so I have settled for having the first division players uploaded. If I remember well previous editions of FM, not having the league downloaded wasn't preventing them from doing transfer offers / contract offers as they are doing massively at the moment. My game setup gives me an astronomic amount of roughly 122 000 players uploaded, but I dont care about the speed of the game and I want to progress slowly. I'm playing with no transfer window during first summer and with hidden player attributes of other teams before scouting. Below, you can see the championships uploaded
  4. Good morning and welcome to a new challenge focused on the mythical Schalke 04! Fußballclub Gelsenkirchen-Schalke 04 e. V., commonly known as FC Schalke 04 (German: [ɛf tseː ˈʃalkə nʊl fiːɐ̯] ⓘ), Schalke 04 (German: [ˌʃalkə nʊl ˈfiːɐ̯] ⓘ), or abbreviated as S04 (German: [ˈɛs nʊl fiːɐ̯] ⓘ), is a professional German football and multi-sports club originally from the Schalke district of Gelsenkirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia. The "04" in the club's name derives from its formation in 1904. Schalke have been one of the most popular professional football teams in Germany, even though the club's heyday was in the 1930s and 1940s. Schalke play in the 2. Bundesliga, the second tier of the German football league system, following relegation from the Bundesliga in 2022–23. As of 2023, the club has 178,000 members,[2] making it the second-largest football club in Germany and the fourth-largest club in the world in terms of membership.[3] Other activities offered by the club include athletics, basketball, handball, table tennis, winter sports and eSports. Schalke have won seven German championships, five DFB-Pokals, one DFB Ligapokal, one DFL-Supercup and one UEFA Cup. In 1937, Schalke became the first German club to win the double. Since 2001, Schalke's stadium has been the Veltins-Arena. Schalke hold a long-standing rivalry with Ruhr neighbours Borussia Dortmund, known as the Revierderby.
