You have to be careful with a player you have in the BWM role. You want one with high bravery but mid to low aggressiveness. High tackling helps as well. My BWM rarely gets yellow cards at Athletic even with me having hard tackling on many opposition players he may tackle.

Athletic Club Bilbao June 2036: Offseason Highlights The first thing that happened in the offseason was that the captain Sancet came to me and said he had decided to retire. This player was rumored to be on our list but it was just the agent trying to create interest in his client...... The Board also had a small meeting where they told me about financial Affairs: Paying no tax is a good thing considering our debt. The Directors were able to find a new sponsor that should help with the finances. Since the Scouts can't seem to find any Basque players, I didn't see the need to make the scouting budget bigger. The Board delved into their deep pockets and provided some operating funds. The Backup winger wanted to leave, and I was more than happy to sell him. Our best player seems to be the target of all the big boys......now it is just wait until we get an acceptable offer. Even though he has a $209M release clause. I would be willing to sell for $150M. The captain retired and had been a good representative of the team through his career even if he did leave for a while. Spanish Football/Soccer is now the second-best league in the world! We are not in the top 100 teams, and we lost a few places......need to remedy that this season coming up! I must have put together a decent team at ASSE......they are now in Champions League. As a short-term replacement for the potential Martin move, I decided to bring back a Club Icon after his Chelsea contract ran out. Milan didn't even give me an interview....... I spent some time looking around the job center and applied for the Torino job....... I'm not totally set on moving teams just checking my options. I have another season under contract at Athletic. Everyone thinks our players are for sale....... and the fans weren't happy with the sale of Gift, but I am bringing back Williams to replace him. Everyone wants him and I'm not selling unless I get an offer I can't refuse....... Celta Vigo gets a new boss as they have been relegated. at the end of their contracts the team let 9 players leave. Injured on the first day of preseason..... We paid our Affiliate in Czechia...... Ekaitz Martin is the man we are expected to move but it will take atleast that amount of money for us to consider it. The fans are excited by the fact we brought an iconic player back to the club and named him captain. Torino offered an interview, but since they are a smaller team, and I am already in my preseason preparations I declined the offer and will see out my contract with the Athletic Club Bilbao. Athletic Club Bilbao Late May 2036: End of Season Awards and Board Meeting End of Season Awards We brought in only three players because Basque players don't grow on trees, and we have a limited budget. The Journeyman GK was a season saver as I was looking for a Number one and having problems with two young prima donnas at the position. As you already know we had the best season in recent history and came in 7th and qualified for UECL after a horrific start in August and September. The High's were Highs and we won't talk about the low points...... Commercially we did about as well as last year.....we will need the Competition Prize money from the UECL next season definitely. This was our starting lineup most of the season. Romero the DM was our best player leading the team from the back. Fans Player of the Season Young Player of the Season Top Goalscorer Most Assists These players were central to the turnaround that led to our success. If I had played defensively earlier, we might have made Europa League or Champions League. I don't know what the Media is thinking.....the start of the season was shambolic until I switched formations and mentality. Overall, it was a good season, but not as good as some seasons in the past, but something to build on if I stay...... End of Season Board Meeting The board is dreaming big, but we might have to sell some players to pay off our debts. The Board was happy that we grew the fanbase, but I am unhappy with the decline of family fans....... The Season Analytics: Team Defending was the most important and I am happy that we conceded less than expected and had 12 clean sheets. Hopefully if we can get the GK situation fixed we can improve on it. Even though they are a bunch of whiny prima donnas they are behind me......for the most part al long as we keep winning! The Analytic department thinks we overachieved in La Liga but should do well in the Conference League. The Teams Training Facilities were downgraded and I asked for them to be renovated but was refused due to debt. I promised one of the prima donnas a new contract at the end of the season and I kept my word. He also didn't ask for the moon in negotiations. Decent all-around training for matches, but your players might whine about it not being "Physical" enough. The day after matches is most important after away games. Before Home matches I often do a community relations block where you have match tactics. I think it helps with the fans.

Athletic Club Bilbao Early May 2036: Regular Season Manager's Thoughts The team didn't finish the season smoothly losing or drawing many of its matches before coming alive in the last match after securing European Football for next season with nothing on the line and looked unbeatable. The team finished the season 7th in La Liga their best finish for a long time. The Prima Donna GK continues to be a problem as well as scouting. So, I did put in an application for a better job that came open AC Milan. I don't expect to get it, but I have to try. Highlights The First match of the month of May would be against the Copa del Rey Champions and La Liga leading Real Madrid. Who were led by my idol Klopp. We got lucky at home earlier this season, but I expected a hiding as they are chasing the League Title. I am going to try Klopp's Gengen press back at him...... He is playing mind games again....... We surprised them with the gengen press early, but just before half I decided to start playing safe and they took advantage and scores. I continued to play defensively in the second half and they scored two more. I played into their hands. Maybe I should open it up a little and press more...... Just a few days later we were back at it at home at the San Mames this time versus Sevilla FC. Sevilla was favored but we would try and end this bad run of form. We played defensively and were beat like by Real Madrid we were impotent going forward and penned in our end. The opposing manager was exuberant over his win! We have actually somehow sold players for more money than we have spent........ Our Stud AMR in the Mo Salah Role gets a call up to the Spanish National Team. We then took on our rivals from Pamplona.......another big match and we would be looking to get off the snide! We went out to an early lead but couldn't hang on for the win..... But the point was enough to qualify us for the UECL! The Board was thrilled that we would get some of the sweet European Money next season! We need it since we are spending 66% of our turnover on payroll. Another reason for leaving I can't seem to find any Basque players even with the filters set. Our Talisman Hobbit will now miss the rest of the season. The Final Match of the season would be a t the San Mames and I wanted to end it in style! To celebrate the fans. We hadn't been playing well and I wanted a good effort in front of the people who pay our wages! The Prima Donna GK is back at his tricks......and that will keep him from being the First Choice Keeper he desperately wants. Game Day came and it was a vintage performance as I slipped the leash on the "Dogs of War"! I played with positive mentality and everything else the same. Man of the match from the Right Back! And I praised his performance to the Media! We played well and our passing showed our domination of the game. A great record for this team. We ended up in 7th place. The End of season party wasn't over, and I sent in my application for a different job. I am thinking of retiring as well as changing clubs mostly because I'm getting tired of these moaning and whiny prima donnas on this team. The prior management made them ALL millionaires in their late teens and early twenties, and I have never dealt with such a bunch of entitled teens in FM......(IRL Everyday. I am a teacher)

Athletic Club Bilbao April 2036: Regular Season Manager's Thoughts The team played well but didn't get wins this month. Maybe it was because I was distracted by thoughts about my own career or the prima donna young GK that is missing training and putting up a stink about a new contract. Either way now the team will have to fight to keep a European place. Even still this team has the chance with all its problems of being the best Athletic Team in terms of La Liga in the save. I am ambivalent due to the fact the player pool for Basque players makes this a youth only run and the fact that makes transferring in players overly expensive and then you get less for your sales even though the prices are inflated. One thing that might make me stay is that there are no interesting jobs available at bigger clubs. Schedule Highlights Even though the team is doing well the board came out of nowhere to offer me an extension. I am ambivalent about my tenure due to not able to find players to upgrade or replace players or the prima donnas the team seems to be filled with. I ended up not negotiating and looking into other possible jobs. But I may end up staying on. After the negotiations Broke down on my contract, I had to get the team ready to play. The Team might become the best ever Athletic Club Team. The Prima Donna GK decided to miss training after he didn't get a pay raise. That won't help him with me. What's a weeks pay when you make $10M/year! If he didn't have a load of potential.....I would transfer list him! But Talented Basque GK's don't grow on trees, and I didn't negotiate his current deal. I tried to play the Backups to alleviate some playing time concerns, but it took subbing in star striker Llorente in the final minutes to get the draw. Five unbeaten we are on another streak but now we take on Real Sociedad. We would travel to our rivals stadium for the Vasco Derby. They were favored. It's a big match! We would play defensively and try to "smash and Grab" the points on the counter on the road. It was a tough match, and we went down early and managed to tie it just before halftime. The second half turned into a rugby match as the intensity heated up. We got several cards, but no one was sent off. The Board and Supporters are happy with a top half finish......I want more than that. Which has me thinking this isn't the club for me. Overspending due to high wages and lack of players sales is really hurting this team financially. As for my Resume its mostly good with some trophies thrown in. This is so maybe I can get a bigger job if one comes open. I am "untouchable" due to this season's success. Now I know why the Board wanted to extend my contract. Nothing really tempting except Fiorentina is available or insecure at this time so I may just stay at Athletic Club with all its prima donnas. The Copa del Rey was won by Real Madrid and Klopp. The team had to get ready for the next match but was in good form. We had to take on the other Barcelona side and it would be another tough match. We are still searching for the 18th win! It was a tough match between to defensively sound teams and we lost at the end of extra time to add insult to injury. We played well just couldn't break down the Espanyol Bus. The young GK has now gone to the press about his contract situation........what an idiot I have to deal with! Athletic Club Bilbao March 2036: Regular Season Manager's Thoughts We had another good month of counterattacking football. The only loss was to Athletico Madrid. The major problems I had this month were with whiny starlets who were injured and wanted more money when they were already the second highest paid player on the team. The team is on its way to being the best Athletic Team in La Liga ever. Let's keep the good times rolling. Also of note this former schoolteacher has reaches 500 matches in management. Schedule Highlights The busy month of March began with a match versus Getafe. They would be visiting the San Mames and hopefully they wouldn't enjoy our Hospitality. Getafe's Manager was my predecessor at Athletic and the boys were happy to send him home sad faced. We have been absorbing pressure and winning on the counterattack that means less possession but more wins. I will take it! We were a little below our average of 350 passes but that just means we are being more direct like the fans want! Just TWO days after the Getafe win Athletico de Madrid came to town fore their rescheduled fixture. Both teams were in good form, but the Madrid side was favored. This might become the best Athletic Bilbao team ever....... I graciously accept the plaudits and want to keep the good times rolling. I knew it would be a tough match, but Xabi Martinez's Red Card sealed the deal for Athletico. We made the highlights for all the wrong reasons..... and Just THREE days after Athletico, FC Barcelona came to town led by Xavi. It is a milestone game, but I don't want to pressure the players too much.... 500 matches for a former schoolteacher aren't bad......... We are facing another of the Big Boys and were the underdog. I'm excited before every rivalry clash......but LA Liga means its every week! It was the Big Match of the Day......hopefully we would pull out the win. We played well but they were better, and I was happy to come away with the point! The formation wasn't bad but was sort of forced to the middle by the Barcelona defense. Another important Backup is injured critically........ We had our third important/Big match in a row. We won the match 3-0 and were led by our Star Ekaitz Martin! He has been playing well in all of his matches lately. We put Villareal to the sword with our Counterattack. After the big win against Villareal we headed home to take on Las Palmas. It would be a tough match but we should be able to win it. War of words supposedly with my predecessor at ASSE. We dominated and were rewarded with a victory! and the opposing manager took the loss well. Arana and his agent......he is 20 years old and making $10M/Year and he wants a raise. He is already the second highest paid player on the team! I declined his complaint and told him to earn his money! The next match was a tough trip to Valencia. We won easily due to our Backup Keeper saving TWELVE Shots! This was the man of the Match! And I praised his work to the skies in the press! Youth Intake Day No Wonderkids for our academy or team! Chance Creation and Chance Conversion are in every training schedule matches allow for me along with Team Bonding, Match Review, and Recovery after matches. Quite the Turnaround in the season with the change of tactics.

I always have problems with keeping to a wage and playing time structure, because I almost always run into agents or players always moaning about a new contract or playing time. And it usually happens just after or just before the transfer window. Also at my current team, The AI gave out some ridiculous wages to players. I am "forced" to play a 20 yo GK because he makes $10M/year. I think some of my problem is the lack of Basque players in the playing pool creates stupid inflation of wages and transfer fees. I really would like to do better at scouting and recruiting and building realistic pathways from affiliate teams to the first team. Just wanted to end this with I always find something interesting in every post you make. Always something to think about.

Athletic Club Bilbao February 2036: Regular Season Manager's Thoughts We continued our defensive/offensive football tactics and kept getting results. We remained unbeaten and with a little more luck we would have gone and won them all. We had a two-week break forced on us because of a rescheduled match and that allowed me to set the rosters to allow the backup players to play a match. Also, we continue to be hit by injuries. This time our new First-Choice GK, just after he got a nice pay raise thanks to his agent. Things are going well but starting in March the intensity will pick up as we will then be playing the big boys and fighting for a European place in a tight race. Schedule Highlights The first match of the month was against Cadiz. We were to travel to the port city in southern Spain. Cadiz was favored as the home team for the match. Micalo our "Hobbit" was back in the side as playmaker #10! We tried to win and looked to get the advantage after they had a man sent off late and that allowed us to tie the match but there wasn't enough time to win it. Our Rookie GK had a great agent......no wonder he was hiding in the B Teams. The team didn't want to trigger this clause. The Unbeaten streak now stretched to 7! We are playing about as well as we can, but we haven't played the big boys yet this half of the season. Backup player wants more time when a much better player is ahead of him and starting........ Our Star Striker can't score and that isn't helping his chances for the National Team. It was almost two weeks after the Cadiz match till our next one because an Athletico de Madrid match was rescheduled. We were favored over the relegation candidates. many people think we are playing well. This player is still out and might not play this season.......his diagnosis for recovery was 7-8 months back in July. We won the match on a last second goal, but lost our goalkeeper for the next 6 weeks to a broken finger. He is now out after triggering the $10M/Year clause......... Two months of being undefeated since our stunning victory over Real Madrid. I am always pleased to win for the supporters. After the trip to Real Betis, we returned home to the San Mames to take on Tenerife. We were favored due to table position and the fact we were the home team. I was so upbeat I decided to play the Backups in the match with another just two days later. The Backups showed they could play against the relegation threatened team and come out with a win. We ended the match with some niggling injuries that meant the players would miss the next match. The Tenerife boss was disappointed....... While on the other hand I wanted to talk about the versatility of one of the backup players. We were very direct in this match and dominated. Two Days later we took on 15th placed Sporting Gijon. We were favored and our starting XI was rested. I thought we would win. Gijon matched us in being tough to breakdown and we finally took the lead in the 76th minute, but victory was denied us in extra time. 10 unbeaten is quite an accomplishment for this team considering our shaky play at the start of the season. Injuries seem random even with the best Physios it doesn't prevent them, but it does cut down on the recovery time. I always try to have the best physios and sport scientists my team can afford and usually improve those departments when I take over a team.

I know they are still losses but being competitive with Top 6 teams means you might get lucky and win some important points against them. It is more important to beat your relegation rivals in any case.

Athletic Club Bilbao January 2036: Regular Season Manager's Thoughts We are playing well with another undefeated month. The pivot to the 4-2-3-1 Wide and a more defensive mentality has brought structure to our defense and victory. Yes, we aren't lighting up the league and our striker is languishing, but we are doing enough to win matches. The board wanted me to improve the team in the Transfer window but all the players that would have helped us were held for ransoms too rich for our club. So, I re-signed our players and sold a B teamer for $20M. The future looks bright if we can keep playing this way. We already have 39 points and are in 5th place in the table. Last Season we had a total of 44 points and 12th place. Schedule Highlights The New year brought another rivalry match for us this time hated local rivals Osasuna. The Basque Country rivalry is intense, could we bring it on match day? As we were the home team we were favored but anything can happen in a derby! Fan Favorites chimed in that we were playing well and expected more of the same from us. I try and approach each match the same I want to win! Damn it! The Team took out a loan to pay for transfers and repayments already have begun....... The Osasuna manger tried to downplay the importance of the match....... We won the tight affair with good defense even though we gave up a late goal due to not keeping our concentration up. Our Segundo Volante likes to score he has almost as many as our striker! I want our home stadium to be a Fortress! Former Fan Favorites are singing Romero's praises! After the Osasuna win we had to go back on the road for tricky match against Eibar. We were favored but it would be a tough match for us. We won yet again this time from Set-Pieces....... I am optimistic that we can keep this up and get a European Spot. De Zerbi got sacked and replaced by this guy! We sold a player that was in the B team and probably wouldn't make it into the First Team soon due to competition for places. He wasn't a bad player it is just I didn't have any room for him in the first team. I got our Segundo Volante to re-sign with us to end the speculation our best player was leaving...... Our Hobbit hasn't been right since signing his new contract....... I got Romero's Partner in crime to sign on the dotted line as well. The La Liga Managerial Carousel continues to spin and get new riders. After all those transfer matters it was time to return to the pitch. This time versus Alaves at San Mames Stadium. As the home team we were favored even though we lost to them at their place earlier this season. We played well and had Social Media Buzzing since we were back in the European places. We dominated them while remaining defensively sound.......Romero was the catalyst to our attack! It seems that every Spanish Team is the rival of every other if you believe the media! Romero was the Starman providing the assists instead of the goals this time around. After the win versus Alaves we still had one match to go in January. Favored over rivals Celta Vigo this time...... Fan Favorites are encouraged by our form. Could we keep it going? Celta Vigo played us tough and tied it late after we thought we had scored the winner! At least we didn't lose and kept the unbeaten streak going! The Transfer Window Closed without us bring in a player even though the Board took out a loan no one I wanted was in our price range even with the loan. Our place in the Table matches our expenditure. We need to keep it up and get to Europe to meet payroll! Athletic Club Bilbao December 2035: Regular Season Manager's Thoughts We didn't play particularly well during the month of December, but there was a famous victory over Real Madrid to hang our hats on. Against both Espanyol and Burgos our defense was found wanting for different reasons. Espanyol had the patience to pick us apart like Man City and Burgos Hoof-balled us to death after we took a lead. We are on track to reach our goal of a top half finish if we keep the defensive mistakes to a minimum. The play after the terrible start has been encouraging after the change of formation and mentality for the most part. I am trying to keep as many good players in the team as possible because I can't seem to find that many Basque players of quality to replace them with and the ones, I do find teams are asking exorbitant prices for. Schedule Highlights The month began with a big match versus Espanyol. The other team in Barcelona was a big Favorite but I thought we had a chance. Favorites are singing the praises of our Central Midfield. I try to play my way.....I did it my way! My way didn't work so well.......they had the patience to break us down. The Espanyol Manager did some gloating...... I didn't want to comment on anything after the loss. The Next match would see me take on my Idol Jurgen Klopp at the San Mames Stadium. With Real Madrid coming to town, we should have a sellout. We had been playing well overall, but Real Madrid was leading the league and as expected we were home underdogs. Never underestimate a Home Underdog! I guess we are rivals with everyone.....it seems every match is a derby of some kind! we got an early goal and then withstood a siege....... I want teams to fear playing in Basque Country! Match of the Day! after the match I was happy to announce an extension for an important player. I decided to keep the Hobbit after all, mostly because half the team loves him! The La Liga Managerial Carousel continued to spin: Failed at Real Sociedad now he will do better with Real Betis? The last match of the month would see us travel to the ancient Castilian capital of Burgos to take on our affiliate in the Copa Del Rey. Our Hobbit playmaker got niggling injuries after signing his extension......' I played the backups and went out to a comfortable 2-0 lead then the team got complacent and they started sending balls over the top of the defense even though we were sitting deep and there should have been no room......we made their best player look like Messi. I and the team got complacent, and I have to take the blame for it with my lineup. Taking the blame doesn't mean I wasn't furious at the players. We played decently until they started playing "Hoofball"! The first time I have failed at an objective at this club....... It just means that we will be trying our best in the league instead to secure the European Place. Celta Vigo got a new boss. My DM-BWM isn't going anywhere....... The rumors keep swirling......I am going to need to negotiate with these two since they are the linchpins of our defense. Athletic Club Bilbao November 2035: Regular Season Manager's Thoughts The team continued its good play we were one lucky goal from another undefeated month. The team plays really well on the defensive mentality that I used against Valencia and Real Sociedad. Against Las Palmas and Girona, I used the Positive Mentality because I like attacking football, but I think that it makes the team to defensively unstable so I may start using the Defensive mentality and the Expressive Passing TI to help keep the defensive shape and my intent. The team has somehow clawed its way into the European places and now I have to stay there if I am to achieve my personal season goal. Schedule Highlights Our next match was early in the month of November, but the critics and fans were raving about the change in fortune due to the change to more defensive tactics. That is all well and good, but we need to keep winning right? It was a match against my predecessor at ASSE and Rival from LOSC. I tried to defuse any animosity before the match. We tried and the defensive tactics mostly worked, but their GK was impenetrable. We had a backup playing out of position at right back due to an injury. Even with less of the ball we played more direct and shot more and better just didn't get the win. Sometimes its just Football in all its beauty. But of more importance we had another injury in the Starting XI that would last a month or more..... Our injury crisis was the talk of the league. We produce some of the best players in Football and definitely in Spain. We should be better than we are. The team returned from Las Palmas to take on Valencia. We were favored as the home team, but we needed to play to the best of our abilities to win the match. We won with an early score and good defense...... according to XG we should have lost or drawn......I feel this was the Football Gods making up for the Las Palmas loss. The new list of best players in the world two contemporary (real) players remain in the top ten. La Liga is an unforgiving place a few more bad results and someone might be taking over my "Hot Seat"! We also found out that we would travel to an affiliate in the Copa Del Rey. We expect to win and I will be trying to win the Copa this season since our chances on Europe might count on it since we are so up and down. Next, we traveled to Girona for a match between table equals. We are now in Form.......just playing a little defense.... La Liga Managerial Carousel sees my predecessor take over a relegation threatened team after only lasting 7 months in Bilbao. I have almost matched the length of his tenure because of my slightly better performance. A back-and-forth game was played, and neither side decided to play defense and luckily, we came out on top. Our Star Striker had two goals to lead the line! The last match of the month was against the hated Rivals of Real Sociedad. The match would be at San Mames and I thought that would give us an edge. I was wrong because Real Sociedad had started the season well and were near the top of the table they were favored. We continued our Defensive Mentality and playing for Set Pieces for this match as well. It was a big Derby game against our hated rivals! As Always, I was looking to beat our rivals to please the supporters! Did we! We soaked up their attack and beat them on the counter while shooting every chance we got! XG showed we deserved our win! Embarrassed by the loss the RS Manager didn't have much to say. The Segundo Volante had quite the match! I have spent more than I wanted to for no one that is in the starting lineup. Player of the Week! I was pleased with the performance of Romero and the others in the Derby. He is a Star! I might spend the money on a Goalkeeper I have my eye on even though the youngster is playing well so far. Athletic Club Bilbao October 2035: Regular Season Manager's Thoughts I needed to make changes into how we were playing to help the defense. We played two of the three matches with a Defensive Mentality. The other major move was to bring a GK out of the B Team that was a highly Touted prospect and make him the new #1 GK. So far it has all worked. I think that I had gotten blinkered into thinking that Liverpool Gengenpress was the only way to win a Football match. The personnel at Athletic club are more suited to a soak up pressure and hit a team on the counterattack and that is how we upset both Barcelona and Villareal this month and made strides in fixing our defense. The team had to travel to Getafe for it first match of the month coming after the international break. We were favored, and I hoped that the team would continue to play better with the change to the 4-2-3-1 Wide. Getafe and many teams in LA Liga play possession-based systems and I like to press.....something has to give! Getafe looked like they didn't know what hit them as we went out to a dominant 4-0 lead and ended up winning 4-1 after they scored off a lucky deflection. and it was a debut for a player stuck in the affiliates that was making more money than any of the First Team Goalies! The Highest paid star is starting to play like it after being moved to his natural position. VAR and the Referee were favorable to us, and the media wanted me to say something controversial.....I kept my mouth shut! Our best player will now miss a month of the season just as we take on Barcelona! It is a big blow......to the team but hopefully we will rally and it will bring us together. The trip to Camp Nou was the big match of the weekend. Barcelona was favored and we would play more defensively to negate their advantages. Fan Favorites are calling out players with bad performances....... I am always up for a good rivalry. The team would play with a Defensive Mentality with Work the Box and play for Set Pieces TI's added to the current TI's. We would also continue the 4-2-3-1 Wide Formation. Our Deeper set up and defensive mind set negated their advantages, and we were able to escape Camp Nou with a Famous Upset! Romero is now a Segundo Volante and is dominating the midfield! Highlights from our upset at 11pm! Romero was the Player of the Week! After the Historic upset of Barcelona, we returned home for another tough match. De Zerbi's Villareal. We continued with the Defensive Mentality and extra TI's for the match. Even though they dominated possession they got nothing for it. We caught them out beautifully twice on the counterattack. De Zerbi had nothing to say...... Our Hobbit playing the #10 Role led the team well on the counterattack. We didn't have much of the ball, but we made effective passes all over the pitch. I am very proud to be at a club that is in the Top Ten in Youth Development. We lose another big-time player to a terrible injury just as things were coming together for us. We lose the Right Back as well for a month..... This is the base tactic even though I have adjusted it to a defensive mentality and more TI's for the last two matches. You certainly have a lot of players on trial. I would take no more than one per position group. Personally, I would look for tall, athletic, players that can play more than one position. If you were to take more than one from a group probably the wingers since many of them could easily play striker and I like them better than your striker candidates for the role.

Athletic Club Bilbao September 2035: Regular Season Manager's Thoughts The team is still struggling, and I think I will have to try a different formation and positions and roles for our players. I did change over to a 4-2-3-1 Wide with similar TI's for the Sporting Gijon match it worked well for 60 minutes then the defense fell apart. As for the defensive woes I think they are mostly on the Goalkeepers who are not up to this level of play. This is because the defensive player of the month in La Liga was one of our Center Backs! If I don't fix the defense and start winning some games, I will get the sack sooner than later as the pressure is already ramping up. But I am not shy about showing my incompetence to the world either......I just chose the wrong club in the wrong league, I think. Schedule Highlights The month of September started with a big match against High Flying Atletico de Madrid and Eddie Howe. The trip looked like a loss, but we would try our best to create an upset. Individual Brilliance doesn't beat team work....... They had both Individual Brilliance and Teamwork........we tried one but not the other and were dominated. We couldn't stop this player even with him man-marked! Eddie Howe was magnanimous in victory..... Our most important player and one I want to build around wants to stay......now it is time to start team building. We return home to take on Real Betis and we are favored but we will need a better performance to get the win. I wasted no time renegotiating Martin's deal and strengthening the teams ability to keep him with a ludicrously high release clause. I have been playing him as a Striker I may move him to the wing...... We are the 7th biggest Club in Spain we need to start playing like it! We played well but just couldn't buy a goal.....of more of a problem was the serious injury to depth player. We lost our backup DM and Right Back for the rest of the season. This hurts. I am still trying to find my best XI and the right roles and formation for them. We then headed to Tenerife for a match we were expected to lose but I thought we could win. It was a terrible day and at this point I have decided to scrap the 4-3-3 and try a 4-2-3-1 and adjust roles.....since it obviously isn't working. It was that Bad! With us returning to Bilbao, I adjusted the formation and the roles for the match against Sporting Gijon who is in 8th place. Even though they were in 8th place in the table we were favored......despite our recent troubles in form. The chance of a sacking is increasing with every match unless I get this right..... We went out to a 4-1 lead and then gave up three goals in the last Ten minutes to add insult to injury. The problem is the lack of talent in goal but there is no one I can afford to bring in without selling some players first. Also, the Basque only policy doesn't help. I was mad that the substitute Striker scored two goals in extra time to tie the match...... another of the never ending injuries...... and now the best of my bad goalies goes down......
