  1. No, because I didn't think it would help. I've since uninstalled/reinstalled several times, so I don't know if I can.
  2. The image stuttering was what alerted me to the fact that a new driver was out.
  3. The SI support team responded quickly to my ticket. Unfortunately, neither deleting the custom skin nor removing the cache and preferences solved the problem, and Steam has verified the integrity of the local files of my game. I have so advised the support team. I'm wondering if anyone else with an NVIDIA 3070 GPU is having the same problem since the most recent driver update.
  4. My GPU is an NVIDIA 3070, and after several months of running FM23 with the Flutskin Dark skin with no problems, I suddenly found the game crashing mid-match after the most recent driver update. After contacting Sega Support, I dropped Flutskin and went back to the basic FM skin for now. Has anyone else had similar issues with any of the popular skins mentioned here?
  5. Support ticket submitted. Thanks for your quick response.
  6. I have recently started having issues with crashes in FM23, and in accordance with the support advice, I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver. The crash message I get is DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG. I have an NVIDIA 3070 GPU, and the motherboard was recently replaced (not sure that is relevant, but I post it just in case). I've reported each crash to SI but have gotten no response. Any ideas would be appreciated.
  7. I've been using two BPDs in the current season in my 4-2-4. Results have been excellent.
  8. In any 2-striker set, you need strikers who will compliment each other, not compete with each other. In my 4-2-4, I have 1 AF/a paired with 1 PF/s. They make a fine 1-2 punch.
  9. This is one of my pet peeves with FM. If a team has been scouted as gegenpressing, but during the match moves away from it, that's something your Assman should be able to tell you about, since it isn't obvious while watching the match (and IRL that's what an Assman or other member of the coaching staff would do). But I love discussions like this one.
  10. Not sure if you mean starting a new saved game in the same edition or starting in a new edition. If the same edition, I find it’s easier because I already have a feel for the game. If you mean starting off with a new release, then, yes, there’s usually a learning curve for whatever has changed from the prior year’s game. If you read through the feedback thread, you’ll see plenty of folks had that problem this year.
  11. I’ve seen a few asymmetric formations posted in the Tactics forum, but I haven’t used any. I doubt they take the AI out of its normal functioning, so I wouldn’t regard using one as cheating. If fact, I suspect they may create more defensive problems for the user than they do for the AI.
  12. I never praise a player's form. I praise game performances of 7.7 or higher. Same with training.
  13. It's funny how reporters can spot when you've changed someone's role or what tactical style you've adopted for a match, but your Assman can't tell you anything more about your opponent's play during a match than "more attacking", "more cautious", "more disciplined", etc. Since the AI can spot when a tactic changes, the information should flow both ways. Because, IRL, the coaching staff will point out tactical changes to the manager during the match that the manager misses. Should be the same in FM.
  14. Any filter, whether stock with the game or customized by the user, attributes or statistics or other information, that can be used for analyzing one's own squad should be available for use elsewhere, especially in Scouting and Recruitment Focus. I've spent countless hours recreating filters for scouting, and there doesn't seem to be any way do create them for Recruitment Focus.
  15. I realize I might be accused of an overzealous examination of equine dentition, but a string of unusually stunning results stemming from some horrific plays by AI goalies and defenders has me curious if I’ve unwittingly done something to take the AI out of its normal functioning. Own goals do happen, and GKs do sometimes blunder (as we saw this week in Liverpool’s match with RM), but I’ve never seen the AI do it in four matches running. I’m currently playing with a tactic included by Rashidi in his Book of Tactics, a 424 utilizing wing play (I've made some modifications based on my players). It also utilizes 2 central mids, rather than DMs, a set not included in the stock formations of FM23. And that’s what got me wondering if I’ve taken the AI out of its normal function. Or maybe I’m just a brilliant tactician. 😁
  16. That’s what I do. I’ve been tempted of late to walk out instead, in the hope that might change things up, but it would likely only sully my reputation with the press. Pressers may not be the most ridiculous interactions in FM, but they are far and away the most tiresome.
  17. I’ve sometimes found my assman leaves players in even though their play has been terrible and he hasn’t used all 5 subs.
  18. That’s fine, but remember that the AI adjusts to your tactic. But here’s another thought. During World Cup, folks posted tactics to mirror what some of the nations were doing. There were several entries for Argentina, based on the final, and the one that fascinated me was a 4-4-2 with Messi as one of the strikers in a trequartista role. When one of my strikers can’t play, and I use Endrick as a striker, I’m toying with the idea of a trequartista role for him.
  19. You need to look at your players’ attributes and their best roles, then build a tactic around that.
  20. My first thought is that you might be getting a little ahead of yourself. I also think you may be overloading your dependence on Endrick (not to mention who will take his role until he arrives). And you also need to consider how the rest of your squad will develop. I arranged for a summer transfer of Endrick (I’m playing as Vigo in La Liga) shortly after the close of the January ‘25 transfer window. At the time, I was alternating two young strikers in a pretty solid 4-1-2-3. After the Endrick deal was agreed, both strikers got better and better, but when I looked at their end of season analytics, I came to the conclusion that platooning them was hurting both player’s’ performance. I decided I needed to play them both at least part of the time, while working Endrick into the lineup. I had a surfeit of wing attacking midfielders, only one of which was suited to WM, so the 4-4-2 was out. I thought of the 4-2-4, but FM23 only includes the 4-2-4DM in its stock formations, which made me wonder if having 2 MCs might be a flawed approach. I found my answer in Rashidi’s Book of Tactics, in which he includes a 4-2-4 Flank tactic that melds wing play with possession features and has 2 MCs (one DLPs and one BWMd). I’m now 3-0 in the ‘25-26 La Liga season, and Endrick is currently a squad player. The defensive issues I’d feared have not arisen, although my next match, at Real Madrid, will tell the tale. My two strikers are AFa and PFs: the two outside attacking mids (Endrick is the AMR) are IFs; my back four are WBs, BPDd, BPDd, and WBs. My goalie is GKd.
  21. I'm not clear on what a player would be impacting off the field, unless it's the atmosphere in the locker room or overall team cohesion. One other question: if teamwork doesn't have a significant impact on a team captain's leadership abilities, why does the game only show "teamwork" along with "leadership"? That suggests that those are the two most important attributes for a team captain.
  22. Sometimes, the AI cooks up some real headscratchers, such as when I have a player on my development list with conditions such as average training facilities and expected playing time of regular starter, and I get a loan offer from a team with poor training facilities and expected playing time of fringe player. But the best was an offer I just got from a team in the eredivisie to loan in one a very promising 19-year old BPD (who is not listed for loab and is already a squad player for me) for a fee of zero, assuming 0% of his wages (playing or not playing) and expected playing time of a fringe player. I mean, how awesome is that??
  23. What are you seeing in matches? Is the IF not getting enough service? You might want to try a RPM instead of a DLP and/or switching the left Fb to WB(s). A wingback will get further forward and overlap the IF, allowing the IF to move further to the center. Is he being isolated and marked out? Try using an AF or PF. You may also want to click on “shoot more” on his PIs.
  24. A couple of things jump out at me as I’m in the process of moving to a 424 at Vigo. For one, the two AF(A)s. I’m using one AF(A) and one PF(S). I’m also experimenting with a DLF and an F9, because I want someone dropping back in the middle. I also use two central mids (rather than DMs), but one is a DLP and the other is a BWM. I don’t want opponents ramming attacks up the middle. My two AMs are IF(S). This arrangement is included in Rashidi’s Book of Tactics, available via Drop Box. I switched to it from a 433DM Wide because I have two young strikers who came on like gangbusters last season (24-25), and both needed more game time. I also landed Endrick, who I’m planning on using at the right IF. So, it had to be a 424. As an alternative, I have a 424 with DMs instead of MCs, but I’m still tinkering with the DM roles. Good luck.
