The Great South African Takeover

Recommended Posts

On a slightly different note...

What length of contract will you be giving the players and staff?

What sort of finances will the teams start with?

what transfer budgets?

Because it would take an insane amount of time to modify, the ONLY thing that changes about the players contract is the team they are in. So wage, contract length. Even loans (in real life they would be honouring them).

I have given each team an insane amount of money, with a £25,000,000 transfer budget, and a £2,000,000 wage budget.

Such an honour and difficult task to name the 1st div league A...

"Newcastle Relegation League" ?

"Middlesbrough Survival League " ?

but in the end I have settled on .....

The Heurelho Gomes Blundersliga :D

Hawkini, maybe you missed my question for the bidding. Weren't we supposed to bid in 5 digit numbers?

Hi Kasor, yes the rules did state this.

However, some peoples final bid (i.e. the one after you take away the other three numbers from 100,000) came in under 10,000 so I allowed this

the strikers looked good up until Kenwyne Jones. what the hell is a respectable Newcastle fan like me going to do with him? Fergy, do you want him on a part exchange or something?

looks like a decent midfield, but with some slightly aging players in my back 4 (Hyypia and Melchiot mainly)

looking good Hawkini, KUTGW

Messi, Ronaldo and Stankovic make for a great midfield. Happy with Chivu in defence too.

Not so happy about James in goal (he'll be retiring very quickly :thdn:) or Dean 'Glass Man' Ashton up front but with Messi and Ronaldo, who cares? :D

Btw, I didn't realise the 'final bid' could be less than 5 digits.... I lowered some of my other bids to make sure it was over 10,000.

Well - I guess it was not wanting to introduce too many rule breaking on people when we only just had enough people to sign up - so apologies. Don't forget that you wont stay with this team - there will be opportunities to trade between the consortium - plus also opportunities to buy regens at the end of every season - maybe a draft system as well for those that didn't do so well.

I thought it was pretty clear when it stated

You can make the final bid any area you like

Didn't realise we'd get a chance to trade players too :) I need to make a shortlist of decent Gks !

No trading until official start of sign-up - plus only when I say and under rules of sign-up - so you can chat no probs, but no changes to teams full stop yet.

Will teams have a youth academy/youth team?

It is not guaranteed but most teams have a U19 team with no players at the start - they will be populated with some South African youth and regens. I will be reporting ONLY on the decent ones, and the ones that make it into the first team obviously.

Totally, dont see much of a point on reporting on any of them unless they have potential to turn out good.

Will all teams get 20/20 for youth and training and an accademy?

Yes - 20/20 + academy - nothing less for our 32 famous chairpersons!
