If half of it is right, then I'm OK - I reckon it's the Spanish bit though...

Either way, I'm in in the BSP, ahead of pretty much everyone else, or over in sunny Spain, managing a team with much higher rep

Charlie adds Zhang to Wales

12th February 2010

In a shock move Charlie Zhang has been appointed manager of Welsh Premier League team Welshpool. Zhang has been out of a job since Stalybridge sacked him back in October. Charlie Zhang was unavailable for comment, but we have heard from a Welshpool spokesperson.

(Please read the below in a Welsh accent :))

"Well boyo, we saw Mr Zhang's application and thought what's occurring? We know he did rubbish at Stalybridge, but we understand that this was because of Mr Zhang not understanding the players. To be honest, we don't understand them either. Mr Zhang's other problem was that the ladies were distracting him, well here in the heart of Wales, there are only sheep, and I don't think he's that way inclined. So he'll be just fine.

More to come :thup::D

LOL :D Is the update going to be today Denther?

Maybe, I'll definitely get the head to head table up, but the Update has over 100 screenies, so you might have to wait until next Tuesday!

I was thinking about doing an award ceremony as well, based on my own opinions, eg Best manager of the season, best player etc, but I'll give it some more thought and see what I come up with.

Drop and give me 6K!

2nd March 2010

Robert Zhang has obviously let the sacking of his dad and his subsequent move to Wales, get to him. In an even more bizarre move than his dad's, Robert Zhang has moved back to his native Singapore. This may seem perfectly normal, but he has joined the Singapore Armed Forces FC for £6000! We spoke to SAFFC and asked them why they wanted Robert and why he decided to join.

"Robert was lacking guidance, lacking discipline! The Singapore Armed Forces have been after Charlie Zhang for a number of years. We will never forget what he did to the Captain's wife... and the Sergeants... and the Generals... and mine come to think of it. Robert got in touch with us, said his dad had left him and gone to Wales, said he wanted to help us get back at his dad, we were only to happy to oblige. Charlie Zhang, we are coming for you!!

That was slightly strange wasn't it? I'm tired, sorry :p

Ok, I'm going to leave the news articles for now and put up the head to head tables.

Last season I did it on win % due to everyone having played different amounts of games. The trouble with that is it doesn't take into account teams that draw lots but don't win or lose much, which is a bit unfair. So this season I have based the table on average points per game (not sure why I didn't think of this before, it's a much better way of doing it!!).

So there will be two tables to consider, the season 2 table and the overall table.

Season 2 Table

1st Patton Cooper

Well, we've seen it all this season. Zhang Snr escaping to Wales (we have now heard it may have been due to Zhang meeting with a lady who happened to be the wife of Vinnie Jones, Wales was seen as a safe haven, his reasoning? Even Vinnie Jones wouldn't go back to Wales!!) Zhang Jr has joined the Singapore armed forces, and Josy Joseph is still without a job.

We've had ups, we've had downs, we've had half way ups so they were neither up nor down! Near falls, near triumphs, tears, joyous laughter, juggling monkeys... ok maybe not juggling monkeys, although we think they would add a new dimension to football.

Anyway, enough of these pointless attempts at humour, to the leagues!!

Blue Square Premier

Blue Square North

Blue Square South

Welsh Premier League

It was so very close at the bottom of the Blue Square Premier. Our managers were left adrift from the pack just above the relegation zone and so it was only ever likely that one would survive. That one? Cristobal Blanco and his team Welling! They finished two points above Charlie Crab's AFC Wimbledon and three points above Jake Nash's Telford. To illustrate how close it was, Welling beat AFC Wimbledon 2-1 two games before the last of the season. If they had drawn, it would have been AFC Wimbledon that stayed up and Welling would have gone down. Congratulations to Blanco, commiserations to Nash and Crab, at least you can have a go at improving your head to head stats next season by beating the teams stuck in the BSS and BSN!

In the Blue Square North we find the only manager to win promotion this year. Well done to Tom Hamilton and Southport who won the league by 4 points. They will be joining Welling in the BSP next season. Elsewhere Patton Cooper had an excellent season with Workington. They finished 3rd meaning the play offs beckoned. They reached the final after drawing with Kings Lynn 1-1 in the first leg and beating them 2-1 in the second. This meant that they met Boston in the final. Unfortunately they were beaten 2-1 even though Boston were down to 10 men for most of the match. A few of the players didn't perform as well as they could have, including Coop Cooper.

The other two managers in the division had terrible seasons. Ben Cee will be wondering if it is time for a move after Vauxhall finished 17th. Robert Blowcrapup had an even worse season with Blyth, they finished 1 place and 1 point above the relegation zone in 19th. Their early season form was ok, but they have only won twice in the league since February, at one point going 5 games without even scoring.

In the Blue Square South one of our three managers decided to make a late season surge. Having been 12th at the end of January Stew Ferguson did a great job in getting Chelmsford up to 4th place and into the play-offs. They beat Newport 2-1 in the first leg and lost 1-0 in the second and so the game went to penalties. Chelmsford were unlucky as they missed two penalties to lose 4-3 on penalties. Edward Nelson once again guided Braintree to mid-table mediocrity finishing 5 points off the play-offs in 8th. Sam Ralph will no doubt be pleased with Bognor's safe and solid 11th place finish, can they push on from here and reach the play-offs next season?

In the Welsh Premier League Charlie Zhang joined Welshpool near the end of the season. He did well and improved there position to finish 10th. Can Zhang turn Welshpool into the Welsh Manchester United? Probably not.

Overview -

This season was definitely a less successful one than last season. Josy Joseph remains unemployed, two of our managers were relegated and there was only one promotion, compared to the three last year. Robert Blowcrapup was lucky not to get relegated from the BSN and Robert Zhang is lucky we 'loaded' the Singapore league! Let's hope that next season brings more success for our 'fan' managers.

Despite a lot of our managers having unsuccessful seasons only one manager's job is insecure. The Blyth board were obviously unhappy at finishing so close to the relegation zone and so Robert Blowcrapup's status is insecure.

Cups -

The only cup with our managers left in was the FA Trophy.

Blyth lost their third round replay 3-0 to Stafford, leaving just Southport in the quarter final. They did well to get a 0-0 draw at Cambridge, forcing a replay. Southport, now at home, won the replay 2-0, meaning they were now into the semi-final. They took the initiative in the first leg, beating Ebbsfleet 2-1 at home. However it was not to be as they lost 3-1 in the second leg, losing 4-3 on aggregate. Despite the good run Tom Hamilton will feel they should have reached the final. Southport had enough chances to score and it was only a poor performance from the goalkeeper that prevented them from reaching the final. (Although once again Tom Hamilton Jr buckled under the big match pressure and put in a poor performance.)

Awards -

Let's do the monthly awards first.

In the Blue Square Premier there is only one player worthy of mention, Juan Blanco. He come 3rd in the April Young Player of the Month and went one better by finishing 2nd in the April Player of the Month.

In the Blue Square North the February Manager of the Month saw Patton Cooper finish 2nd. Tom Hamilton then come 2nd in the March Manager of the Month before going one better and winning the April Manager of the Month.

In the Blue Square South Stew Ferguson won both the March Manager of the Month and the April Manager of the Month. Edward Nelson finished third in the April Manager of the Month, whilst his player Ryan Lamb finished third in the April Player of the Month.

In the Welsh Premier League Charlie Zhang impressed in his first month in charge and came third in the February Manager of the Month.

And now for those all important season awards.

Unsurprisingly there are none to mention in the Blue Square Premier or Welsh Premier League.

In the Blue Square North Tom Hamilton emulated Jake Nash's achievement from last season and won the BSN Manager of the Season. There was a shock winner of the BSN Player of the Season. Despite Blyth nearly being relegated Luke Blowcrapup showed his class by keeping them up and winning player of the season.

In the Blue Square South it is surprising that none of our managers or players made it into the end of the season awards, we expected Stew Ferguson to feature for the managers and are very surprised that Miles Johnson was not involved in the player of the season.

Season Stats -

BSP Player Stats - If you are wondering why Welling stayed up and the other two teams didn't, it's because they didn't have the brilliance of Juan Blanco. 20 goals, 9 man of the matches and the best average rating in the BSP, need we say more.

BSP Team Stats - The only mention goes to AFC Wimbledon who had a good average attendance.

BSP Summary - AFC Wimbledon lost 7 games in a row and AFC Telford were involved in the highest scoring game, they lost 5-2. Not good for our managers.

BSN Player Stats - Player of the season Luke Blowcrapup had the joint most assists in the league with 16.

BSN Team Stats - The stats are dominated by Southport, they scored the most, conceded the least and finished the season in fairly good form. Workington scored lots of goals, if they can tighten their defence next season the BSP won't be far away.

BSN Summary - Southport dominate again, they had the biggest win, were involved in the highest scoring game and went 16 games without losing. Workington are also mentioned as they went on a 7 game winning streak.

BSS Player Stats - Miles Johnson was once again the highest rated player in the BSS. The only stats he doesn't feature in are the red cards and tackles. How on earth he wasn't involved in the layer of the season awards we do not know.

BSS Team Stats - Chelmsford and Bognor finished the season in good form and if Chelmsford can bring in some good strikers they could do very well next season. Braintree on the other hand have no problem scoring, the trouble is nor do the opposition.

BSS Summary - Not much to note here, Bognor were involved in the highest scoring game.

That concludes the first half of the end of season update. The next half will detail manager information as well as a more in depth look at the players and members of staff.

The second half of the update will either be later today or tomorrow.

The Times

1st June 2010

Welcome to the second part of our end of season review. We will take a more in depth look at the managers, players and members of staff.

Manager Information -

Ben Cee and his stats.

Charlie Crabs and his stats.

Charlie Zhang and his stats.

Cristobal Blanco and his stats.

Edward Nelson and his stats.

Jake Nash and his stats.

Josy Joseph and his stats.

Patton Cooper and his stats.

Robert Blowcrapup and his stats.

Sam Ralph and his stats.

Stew Ferguson and his stats.

Tom Hamilton and his stats.

Staff -

Rachel Brown had a poor finish to the season with the Vauxhall Reserves and ended up finishing 8th in the reserves group 9.

Jamie Schober never stood a chance with AFC Telford Reserves in the reserves group 3 and finished dead last with only 1 win in 20 games.

Players -

Coop Cooper continues to struggle at Workington. 18 starts is ok, but a player with his potential should be performing much better. If he is to impress his manager Patton Cooper and cement a place in the first team he will have to step up his game. - Personal - Stats

Jerome Joseph has played ok for Bromley this season. He has started 42 games, and scored 7 goals. with an average rating of 6.53 he can do better. On the international front he won his second cap for India. - Personal - Stats

Juan Blanco has quite possibly single handedly kept Welling in the BSP and all for £5 a week. 24 goals in 42 games, 11 man of the matches and an average rating of 7.34, what more could you ask for. The question is will he be around to save Welling again next season? - Personal - Stats

Junior Khanye Jr played a fair amount of games for AFC Wimbledon, but if Crabs had played him more often would they have been relegated? Junior clearly feels that AFC Wimbledon just aren't good enough for his immense talents and wishes to be put on the transfer list. He continues to represent Slovenia at under 21 level. - Personal - Stats

Liam Ferguson has started to play a lot more games for Tamworth. He's done fairly well and has scored 14 goals in 38 starts. TNS are still interested in the talented youngster. - Personal - Stats

Luke Blowcrapup is the only good news story in an otherwise torrid season for Blyth. The club captain has played virtually all their games and has a very health average rating of 7.02 along with 16 goals and 19 assists. It's all in a days work for our talented midfielder. - Personal - Stats

Miles Johnson remains loyal to Bognor and continues to impress. With 21 goals, 10 man of the matches and an average rating of 7.41 Miles has played a big part in Bognor once again achieving a solid mid table position. Will he remain loyal to Bognor or will a big team come calling in the summer? - Personal - Stats

Robert Zhang made the shock move of the season, leaving Stalybridge for the Singapore Armed Forces. The move has helped his international career, he has earned a Singapore under 21 cap and impressed by scoring 2 goals. He's had a good start at SAFFC scoring 3 goals in 9 games with an average rating of 6.99. - Personal - Stats

Ryan Lamb has had another solid season with Braintree. 13 goals and an average rating of 6.77 is good and he will hope that it is third time lucky for Braintree next season in trying to reach the play-offs. - Personal - Stats

Tom Hamilton Jr remains a solid player for Southport and will be pleased with the 16 goals he has contributed this season. - Personal - Stats

Welcome to the first annual 'End of season 'fan' manager and player awards, sponsored by Denther'.

We will be taking a look at the good, the bad and the ugly managers and players. The awards up for grabs are -

Best Manager

Worst Manger

Best Player

Worst Player

Biggest Overachiever

Biggest Underachiever

The OMG WTF Award

Ok, on to the first award, Best Manager. On the shortlist for this award are -

Tom Hamilton

Cristobal Blanco

Patton Cooper

And the winner is...

Link to post

Tom Hamilton!!!

I know it's the obvious choice but he really has done well. The BSN League title and the semi finals of the FA Trophy, let's see if he can keep Southport in the BSP next season.

Patton Cooper comes a close 2nd, he did a great job with Workington and was very close to reaching the BSP. Also, he had the best head to head record, which counts for a lot.

In third was Cristobal Blanco. He did a great job keeping Welling in the BSP, but I wonder if it would have been the same story if there was no Juan Blanco banging in the goals...

The next award is the Worst Manager Award.

The nominees are -

Charlie Zhang

Josy Joseph

Robert Blowcrapup

and the winner is...

Link to post

Josy Joseph!!!

He managed to take a team that finished in the play-offs last season to the relegation zone, and to be honest I'm not sure they would have survived if he had stayed. Not only this but he has now been sat on his arse for 3 months doing nothing!

In 2nd is Robert Blowcrapup. He managed to go from being 10 points clear of relegation in February to 1 point above relegation with only 2 wins in 3 months, will he be at Blyth next season?

In 3rd is Charlie Zhang. He was my candidate for worst manager, taking a good Stalybridge team into the relegation zone, getting sacked and then doing nothing for months is not good. However since taking over at Welshpool he has looked a new man. Can he carry on the new found success next season?

The next award is for the Best Player.

In the top three are

Miles Johnson

Cristobal Blanco

Luke Blowcrapup

and the winner is...

Link to post

Juan Blanco!!!

Again, an obvious choice, but he was the best player in the BSP and helped keep Welling up. He has been amazing and should be attracting some big clubs soon surely?

In 2nd is the ever brilliant Miles Johnson. He just keeps producing for Bognor, without him I believe Bognor would be a lot lower in the league.

In 3rd is Luke Blowcrapup. In stark contrast to his dad who tried to relegate Blyth, Luke has played very well and helped ensure that Blyth would be in the BSN for at least another season.

The next award is for the Worst Player.

The nominees are -

Tom Hamilton Jr

Coop Cooper

Jerome Joseph

and the winner is...

Link to post

Coop Cooper!!!

Workington have done really well this season, Coop Cooper hasn't. His average rating is poor and he just isn't impressing enough to get any games. Let's hope for better from him next season.

In second is Jerome Joseph, he hasn't exactly been bad for Bromley but he just hasn't shone, he's been mediocre at best.

In 3rd is Tom Hamilton Jr, again not because he is rubbish, but he should be scoring a lot more goals and he is mainly in here for his terrible performance against Ebbsfleet in the FA Trophy Semi Final.

The next award is the Biggest Overachiever Award.

On the shortlist are -

Patton Cooper

Sam Ralph

Luke Blowcrapup

and the winner is...

Great Updates! Lamb's contract's up at the end of the next season so I hope he doesn't move. The guy's only on £30 a week! If he was full-time perhaps we'd be seeing better progress and advancement for him.

Sam Ralph!!!

He has once again taken a Bognor team that was predicted to finish last, and made sure they had a solid season finishing in 11th place. Great stuff.

In 2nd is Luke Blowcrapup, he had an ok season last year, but this year he has really come into his own. Nobody expected him to win BSN player of the season, he has done very well.

In 3rd is Patton Cooper. Workington were predicted to finish 7th, but he got them to the play-offs and very nearly got them into the BSP!

The next awrad is for the Biggest Underachiever.

The nominees are -

Edward Nelson

Ryan Lamb

Charlie Crabs

and the winner is...

Link to post

Edward Nelson!!!

That's 2 seasons were I've expected so much from Braintree and that's the second season they have finished in mid table. Let's hope for better luck come the third season!

In 2nd is Ryan Lamb, like his manager, he's done well, but I don't expect him to do well, I expect him to be fantastic. More next season please!

In 3rd is Charlie Crabs. The media expected AFC Wimbledon to survive... they didn't.

The final award is the The OMG WTF Award.

There are no nominees for this, just two very clear, very related people.

That's right it's those crazy Zhang's!!!

Dad gets sacked and runs of to the middle of Wales and son decides he's had enough and joins the Singapore Armed Forces, indeed all I can say is OMG WTF!!!

Well done to all the winners, see even rubbish people can win awards, even if it is for being rubbish, well done!!!

If I haven't heard from M.G.L, Blowcrapup or IamJerome by the time I do the next update (probably tomorrow) I shall stop reporting on their managers/players.

I know that Blowcrapup probably has exams, but these updates take me a long time and if the people they are for are not reading them there is not much point in doing them.

If I do stop doing the updates for specific users, if that user then comes back and says they are following I can reinstate them as I won't delete their characters

Thanks,

Denther

The Times

1st October 2010

As I have not heard from Blowcrapup I will not be reporting on their managers/players in the update.

Season three is now under way. It was a mixed season for our 'fan' managers in season 2 and many will be hoping for a better year this time around. All the managers and players/staff are in the same place as they were at the end of last season.

Southport - Tom Hamilton and Tom Hamilton Jr - BSP

Welling - Cristobal Blanco and Juan Blanco - BSP

Welshpool - Charlie Zhang (manager) - WPL

AFC Telford - Jake Nash and Jamie Schober - BSN

Tamworth - Liam Ferguson (player) - BSN

Vauxhall - Ben Cee and Rachel Brown - BSN

Workington - Patton Cooper and Coop Cooper - BSN

AFC Wimbledon - Charlie Crabs and Junior Khanye Jr - BSS

Bognor - Sam Ralph and Miles Johnson - BSS

Braintree - Edward Nelson and Ryan Lamb - BSS

Bromley - Jerome Joseph (player) - BSS

Chelmsford - Stew Ferguson (manager) - BSS

SAFFC - Robert Zhang (player)- Singaporean League

Unemployed - Josy Joseph

Let's have a look at the tables -

Blue Square Premier

Blue Square North

Blue Square South

Welsh Premier League

Singaporean League

Some managers find themselves in very unexpected positions at this early stage of the season. Apart from Vauxhall the teams are either doing really well or really badly.

In the Blue Square Premier, Tom Hamilton has shocked everyone as Southport have made a great start and currently sit 10th. Not bad for a team tipped to finish 19th. Cristobal Blanco has not done as well and finds himself and his team Welling rooted to the bottom of the BSP. The media don't give him much hope either, predicting him to finish 23rd.

In the Blue Square North Patton Cooper's Workington have carried over their fine form from last season and find themselves in 2nd place. Strangely the media are only tipping them for 7th place. Ben Cee's Vauxhall have also had a good start to the season and find themselves in 8th place with a game in hand. The media are having none of it and once again say they will finish last. Finally we come to AFC Telford who are obviously still suffering from the hang over of being relegated and find themselves one place out of relegation in 19th place. Not good for a team predicted to finish 4th.

In the Blue Square South Stew Ferguson's Chelmsford have made a bright start and find themselves in 3rd. Although it is to be expected as they are predicted to finish 1st! Sam Ralph's Bognor have had a solid start to the season and find themselves in 15th. The media, as usual, are predicting relegation. Two of the other managers in the division have had a terrible start. Newly relegated AFC Wimbledon have followed Telford's example and find themselves in 17th although they are predicted to finish 2nd! Charlie Crabs won't be happy. Edward Nelson's Braintree have got off to an even worse start and find themselves in 19th, a media prediction of 6th may have put too much pressure on them!

In the Welsh Premier League, Charlie Zhang has guided Welshpool to 2nd place at this early stage. Could Wales be Zhang's home from home? Welshpool supporters must be delighted as they are predicted to finish 10th.

And finally just as a side note Robert Zhang finds himself in 2nd place in the Singaporean League, but is he enjoying playing for SAFFC?

Awards -

Blue Square Premier - Despite Welling being rubbish so far Juan Blanco continues to impress and picked up the September Player of the Month.

Blue Square North - Just the one award, which is for the September Manager of the Month which unsurprisingly goes to Patton Cooper for his excellent work with Workington.

Blue Square South - Again just the one award, Stew Ferguson came 3rd in the August Manager of the Month.

Welsh Premier League - Charlie Zhang was rewarded for Welshpool's good form with 2nd place in the August Manager of the Month.

Staff -

Rachel Brown and Jamie Schober find themselves back in the same reserves league, namely Reserve Group 9. Nothing can separate them as they are both on 10 points in 7th and 8th place.

Players -

Coop Cooper finally seems to have found his feet and has been playing well for Workington with an average rating of 6.88. Can he sustain it though?

Jerome Joseph has also been playing well and has netted 3 times in 7 games for Bromley, although he hasn't yet added to his Indian caps tally.

Juan Blanco is surely Welling's only hope of staying up. The only trouble is 6 goals in 8 games and an average rating of 7.51 is sure to attract some big clubs soon.

Junior Khanye Jr has played poorly so far this season for AFC Wimbledon, although he still wants to move so this may explain his bad form... he just can't be bothered!

Liam Ferguson is another player who seems to have finally discovered their form. The young striker has made a great start to the season and Tamworth will be happy with his 4 goals in 7 starts along with an average rating of 7.21.

Miles Johnson is, as always, playing very well. With 4 goals in 9 games and an average rating of 6.99, it can't be long before he get's a move to a bigger team. One interesting fact is that the Bognor fan's have really taken to the young forward as he is now one of Bognor's favoured personnel!

Robert Zhang has played well for SAFFC but a move may be on the cards. His contract expires in November and Bury are interested in signing him.

Ryan Lamb as normal has started ok but hasn't been spectacular. Can he help push Braintree back up the table?

Tom Hamilton Jr has been in fine form for Southport which may explain their 10th place in the BSP. However he is currently injured and won't be back in action for at least 7 weeks.
