The link I had to Media handling is out of date and I haven't found a good one yet. 

I was trying to not get too bogged down with all this but it's easier said than done when you start picking at it. 

The problem with good staff personalities is that they are just not available, (or at least weren't last season). I suppose it's time to try again.

There are 5 players on this list that are products of our Academy, but only 4 of them still play for us. 

(26a) McDonald came through the Academy, but has been gone for a while. He will obviously be getting my vote.

Season Summary. Apr 2033. 

Conference North. We were in serious danger of relegation when we lost 7 league games in a row and Sept & Oct, but fought back to rise into a Playoff spot before again faltering during the run-in. 

Final League Table. 

FA Cup.

FA Trophy. 

Goal-scoring keepers. (29l) David Hunter (NIR) finished the season with 9 goals and 9 assists which is a distinct improvement on last season. It included 5 penalties from 7 attempts and 4 direct free-kicks. 

Overall Best XI.

Awards.

Squad by Appearances. This is more how I like it and we are less reliant on individuals. No outfield player made more than  35 appearances.

Discipline. 158 yellows and 10 reds is a new club record. That's a LOT of cards. 

Finances. Money is still a big issue, but I can't really do anything about it. I'm just going to have to stick within the wage budget and hope that the board invests until such time as we make a significant player sale. A player sale of the size needed would seem to be pretty unrealistic at this moment in time. 

Facilities. 

Transfers. After my conversation with @Thebaker (29n) Dean Robbo (Casual) * is a perfect example of a player who I wanted to keep, but who I couldn't develop sufficiently. Hopefully Peterborough will have more luck and I can get him back later in his career. 

Tracker. Our Estimated value has taken a huge jump. I can only assume that it's related to player value because of the part-time contracts.

We've had a few cash bids for players that I have rejected, but this deal is one that I actually want to go through. 

£14.5k is neither here nor there, but I plan on including some add-ons, and even though this is my 1st choice DR, I have a number of right backs ready to step in.

There is no point in us having multiple good players who can play in the same position, if I can't develop them, and there is no way to develop them without 1st team exposure. I'm hoping that this will be the 1st of many such sales that will gradually increase in price. 

They wouldn't negotiate, but I hope that interest is re-ignited.

Rochdale came in for a straight £30k cash deal, but while I might be willing to swallow paying £80 of his wages, I'm not willing to give up the 25% re-sale fee and a friendly.

Yeah, that's the plan. It's more about the re-sale value than the initial fee at the moment I think. £30k is a pee in the ocean, but 25% of a future fee might be significant. 

This bid has just been made. There is no guarantee that this deal will go through, (because Scunny don't want to sell), but if it does go through and we had a 25% resale clause, then we would be receiving £94,500. This is the way to secure our financial security.

Wow!  Well this escalated quickly!  He's a Wonderkid and looks like he might be properly good rather than just relatively good. Is he going to be a once per save player, or are we going to start producing players like him more regularly? 

He's not exactly tearing up trees in the Premier League, but he is actually playing in the Premier League.

Financial issues. Oct 2033. 

This really isn't good. We are suddenly £758 pw over budget and when you consider that our 3 highest paid players are each on £300 pw, we would need to offload all 3 of them to get back within budget again. The truth is that I would happily sell them for £1 just so long as I got a 25% clause in the deal. I might have to start offering players out.

(29m) Robbie Nash (F.Pro) is a player I would much prefer to sell. He has scored 14 goals in 11 appearances so far this season, but surprisingly nobody is interested in him. I think we have a few strikers who could score goals in this team and I would prefer to lose them than those in other positions.

Despite the training, (33k) CA 44 PA 52 has not progressed a single CA point in 8 months. I'm going to stick with this training regime for a full season before changing it, (in fact I'm going to stick with it until we start pre-season next year).

Latest job offer. Dec 2033.

This is quite an interesting offer because they are 3rd in League 1 at the moment and look pretty strong, but they have also offered me a 2 year contract rather than just through to the end of the season or for 1 year. They are also the nearest Football League side to us .

Not only that, but they are our 1st Football League side, and 1st Pro club never mind about 1st in League 1. This is significant progress and is an indication of how things are going on the pitch for us.

Injury. Dec 2033. 

We've played 23 league games so far this season and (29m) Robbie Nash (F.Pro) has started 20 of them, scoring 23 goals in the process. 

He was on target to score a LOT of goals this season. Unfortunately, it appears that he will not be adding to his tally of 23 goals. 

It's astonishing that he can score that many goals and nobody be interested in him.

l i guess James will be capped by England - what  a player for so low a team.

I imagine Nash is close to his PA which is low, AI clubs i think can see this and are put off.

I've had players all the time who are really good at a level and often higher that your ass man is telling you to ditch and no club seems interested in. If their attributes are good for your system they can be extremely effective.

Having said that i'm puzzled by Nash's goal scoring form, I'm guessing his OFT, COMP and ANT along with his pace are high for that level, probably misses a lot of chances.

It's great to follow his career and see how far he goes, but if we never produce another player like that it's going to destroy me as the save goes on. 

It's just typical that we produce him at a time when we can't keep him at the club and earn absolutely nothing for producing him.

I haven't given it much thought because I don't think he's that good, but at the same time it's hard to ignore that number of goals. 

I don't look at this page very often so I might miss something. 

70% shots on target. (That's decent I think)

26% of all shots result in a goal. 

43% of shots on target result in a goal. 

To be honest, considering that he doesn't take penalties or free-kicks, those numbers are better than I expected. 

The coach report agrees with you that he is near his potential.

Board Takeover. Mar 2034. 

Despite the new Chairman saying he's not "investing" at this stage, we are now in credit to the tune of £127k. (That's a swing of about £764,432).

I wonder how big a debt he has lumbered us with? 

Oh this is a pleasant surprise. A very nice surprise. 

Instead of leaving us with a debt of about £765k, the debt is only actually £250k. That's brilliant stuff. 

This is the only area that we were struggling with. 

We might be over budget right now, but we are under what next season's wage budget is going to be.

I have just been clicking on the club vision and not reading it, and never even noticed that I had been asked to fix this. 

1. It seems a little unfair that I was being asked to fix the financial problems when the old board were the ones who created it. 

2. What a result this Takeover has been. 

3. What a great little mini-feature this is, even if it doesn't quite work 100%, (in that we were blamed with causing the debt in the 1st place).

Youth Intake day. Mar 2034.

Squad by PPA. 

Nations already represented by previous Intake.

New Nations represented in this Youth Intake. (I'm going to double-check this one). 

This is a good intake. 

1. A New Nationality. 

2. Some really good personalities. 

3. 4x 5.0 PA players. 

4. 1x 2.5 CA player. 

I still look at (34h) and (34o), (both Unambitious with low Det), and think I shouldn't bother signing them, but I'm still unsure. 

(34a) Nieminen (FIN) (Driven). looks good, but the good thing is he doesn't look too good. We should be able to keep him for the 2 years of his Youth contract and then at least 1 year of a P/T contract. He's not a typical striker, but we're not in a position to be picky. His aggression and determination obviously fits in with our style in this save and while he looks like he is lacking a little physically, I really like the marriage of technique and flair and it should be interesting to see what PPM's I can get working with that, (eg. tries tricks). 

(34c) Guy Bacon (Driven). He looks more raw, (and his acceleration really stands out), but I'm not sure if I see him as a midfielder or a striker at this point. I think I'm leaning more towards midfielder, simply because I think we have greater need there.

Niemienen looks very handy, you’d be very content with him coming through if you were a Championship club. His personality means he’ll be probably outgrow you quite quickly though

Yeah, having the top 3 come through as 2x Driven and 1x Pro is brilliant.

I "think" I'm correct in saying that my players on a youth contract can still get stolen, but if that happens then I get compensation, (I think), but I don't know how much compensation. The Youth contracts last for 2 years but I think that if I sign then to a pre-contract P/T contract during that period, then it auto starts on their 17th birthday, (which is Sept of this year). I'm cot sure if I sign him to a P/T pre-contract now, which only keeps him here until the end of next season, or leave him on a Youth contract which should keep him here until the end of the 3034/34 season. I don't really know how these P/T contracts work so I might have an experiment on someone else.

Never seen that objective - what do you actually have to do? Surely the board have already done it by getting the finances back in the black

Yeah. They have done. I can't show you what I had to do because I missed it initially. 

I will have to keep a closer eye on it in future.

Nieminen is a really good 2nd striker who i think will score a lot of goals for you as he has no real low attributes for a 16yo, (is DPL listed as his best role?). Not sure how long he might be there though.

DLF is indeed shown as his best role. 

I don't plan on playing him as a DLF though. I play with double AF(a)'s and it seems to work out ok. If I play a player in a more suitable role, (I do change roles elsewhere to suit the player on occasion), it just doesn't seem as effective up front. 

Never say never though.

I'm away at the moment so don't want to spend much time updating, but at the same time didn't want to ignore the end of season update, so this will be shorter than previous updates. Normal service will resume when I'm back home.

2 red cards is tough to overcome, especially when the 1st comes as early as the 21st minute.

Wow.....just spent a good chunk of time going through this thread from start to finish.  

Good work so far with your progress.  Impressed you got the YR and JC levels up so fast at such a low level. 

I might have skipped over this while reading through but who's database are you using??  I thinkn it is not @Dan BHTFC as I do not believe he has the play off structure in place like you had at tier 8.   Makes me wonder what changes were made under the hood for you to get the nationalities you have been getting.  When I played at tier 5 and 6 with a  vanilla db for league structure but I tweaked the training facilities at my club to see what I might get, there was nothing out of the ordinary in nationalities aside from a few interesting second ones that you get from time to time.

The "Golden Generation" is really not a surprise.

The Golden Generation is comparing PA to CA and while our PA, (I think), has been good all the way through this save, equally, the CA of our players has been poor. Our best players tend to leave and the players with the best CA at the club tend to either be these high PA players, (before they leave), or "middling players" who have left to join a better club with better facilities, and improved their CA there before returning to us. 

In short, the Golden Generation is regularly seen because our facilities are producing players with relatively high PA, but the CA of the players at the club is relatively low. 

This is the best player at the club at the moment, in terms of CA rating.

Discipline update. Dec 2034. 

We have played 5 cup games so far this season. In 3 out of the 5 games we have had 6 players booked. This would usually involve an FA fine for not controlling our players, but it seems this only counts for league games.

We often actually perform quite well when getting lots of players booked, and usually come out on top in terms of the result. This was NOT one of those days unfortunately.

Youth recruitment is now 17 but junior coaching I have struggled with. Only on 3 now.
