Deisler26
How far will YOUR youth go: 2029? I'll incorporate this with the intake post next time, but the recent intakes have got me thinking. Just how local are my intakes? We have top facilities, but are we getting the cream of local youth? YP1: Joel Granger was born in Ytrac, France. The closest major team is Olympique Lyonnais. However, this guy has travelled over 600km to join my academy.. Not good enough for Lyon, maybe? YP2: Georges Galmiche was born in Herícourt, France. Being born less than 12km from the beautiful Stade Auguste Bonal means WE are the closest major team! Go us! YP3: Fabien Segura was born in La Valette du Var, France. The closest major team is Olympique Marseille. Over 700km travelled, just to turn up at our door? What made him pick us over Marseille or Nice? YP4: Stephané Adam was born in Saint-Claude, France. The closest major French team is Olympique Lyonnais. However, as Saint-Claude is so close to the Swiss border, he could have chosen Servette or the oddly-apt BSC Young Boys YP5: Moussa Fané was born in Belfort, France. A mere 21km seperate us from the place of his birth, so we are his closest major club! Sweet! But the award for longest trip to our academy has to go to 14 year old DRLC Nabil El Oudi. He travelled an astonishing 2,540km from his birthplace in Fes, Morocco.

Deisler26
Ligue 1 FC Sochaux-Montbeliard 2028/29 Season Review A quite stunning season as we managed to keep hold of all our players and finish a staggering 4th in Ligue 1, although we were never close to challenging the top three. This meant that we would play in the UEFA Champions League for the first time ever. We also lost out on cup success as we were beaten in the Coupe de France Quarter Final by Paris Saint-Germain. We were losing 3-2 in the 88th minute, before goals in the 88th, 90th and 92nd minutes saw the game balanced at 4-4. Only for our ex-wonderkind, who PSG had stolen for £11.5m, to complete his hat-trick in the 96th minute to knock us out 4-5. Deisler26
FC Sochaux-Montbeliard 2030 YOUTH INTAKE FULL INTAKE OVERVIEW So, we have a 'best of his generation' which, quite frankly, doesn't look it. And that's about it. For once, a middling intake. We're running low on strikers however. Let's hope next season gives us a few. For now, Gamiette will be re-trained to a DLF -------------------------------------------------- Key Prospects Yannick Gamiette M/AMR Youssef Kettani M/AMC -------------------------------------------------- How far will YOUR youth go: 2030? Just how local are my intakes? We have top facilities, but are we getting the cream of local youth? YP1: Yannick Gamiette was born in Fréjus, France. The closest major team is OGC Nice. However, this guy has travelled over 700km to join my academy.. The Cote d'Azur not a big enough pull for our guy? YP2: Youssef Kettani was born in Fontenay-sous-Bois, France. A suburb on the outskirts of Paris, he escaped the clutches of local club Paris Saint-Germain to join us, 490km away. We saw three to four academy entrants come from the eastern suburbs of Paris, with another three from the local area in Montebeliard. One even had to drive through Switzerland to get here! But this year's award for longest trip to our academy has to go to 15 year old MRL Mohamed Mansouri. He travelled an astonishing 2,649km from his birthplace in Taza, Morrocco
Deisler26
FC Sochaux-Montbeliard 2029/30 Season Review With this season, came our inaugural entry into Europe's elite club competition, the UEFA Champions League. And we didn't wholly disgrace ourselves, finishing up with one win, at home to FC Internazionale, which left us bottom of the group. We also saw our customary exit at the Quarter-Finals of the Coupe de France, again losing to Paris Saint-Germain. The Coupe de la Ligue was also a Quarter Final exit, this one to Olympique Lyonnais. However, going deep in these competitions meant that we finished 6th overall in Ligue 1, qualifying for the UEFA Europa League. ManUtd1
July 14, 2023. [Panoramic view of the rustic French countryside. Day.] [John “Le Rouge” Drake sits alone on a rock wall, near a big oak tree. Dirt covers his hands, sweat runs down his furrowed brow. He's been digging. Now he sits, reading a handwritten letter to himself. A light breeze tousles his hair.] Narrator [Jean Bleu's voice]: Dear Drake... If you're reading this, you've gotten out. And if you've come this far, maybe you're willing to come a little further. You remember the name of the town, don't you? Drake [mumbling to himself, shaking his head]: Oostende... Narrator [continuing to read; Jean Bleu's voice]: I could use a good man to help me get my project on wheels. Someone to invert the false-5. I'll keep an eye out for you, and the tactics board ready. Remember, Drake, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies. I will be hoping that this letter finds you, and finds you well. Your friend, Jean. [A look of steely determination crosses Drake's face, as he slowly stands and begins to make his way back along the rock wall. The sun begins to set in the middle distance.]

Deisler26
FC Sochaux-Montbeliard 2031 YOUTH INTAKE FULL INTAKE OVERVIEW And here we have it. My worst intake as Sochaux manager. It's not the talent, just the lack of positions I actually use. Daniel Lundqvist & Giuseppe Pagani will have to be retrained to even get a look into my side and my 'most gifted' player, Ronan Bastien, will never play for me in any kind of regular capacity. Great. Next season then... -------------------------------------------------- Key Prospects Daniel Lundqvist ML Christophe Maurin D/M/AML Ronan Bastien GK Giuseppe Pagani AMRC -------------------------------------------------- How far will YOUR youth go: 2031? Just how local are my intakes? We have top facilities, but are we getting the cream of local youth? YP1: Daniel Lundqvist was born in Gagnef, Sweden. A monster 1888km away from our club, I can only surmise his parents moved to France for work or university? Or perhaps it was for something to bloody do as Gagnef is in the Middle Of Nowhere, Sweden. YP2: Christophe Maurin was born in Luxeuil-les-Bains, France. A charming little town, 66kms away from MTN Arena. Which makes us their local major club! YP3: Ronan Bastien was born in Sundhoffen, France. A nothing little village, 95kms away from MTN Arena. Although RC Strasbourg is closer, we are the biggest club closest to the area. However, we are competing with AS Nancy-Lorraine in that particular area as they are only 130kms away YP4: Giuseppe Pagani was born in Montbeliard, France. A MERE WALK AWAY from the stadium. Could he become the hometown hero that we want? We saw quite a few local area players (6) in this intake, but also one from the border of France/Spain. I thought the Swede was going to be the longest travelled, but, beating him by a mere 37km at 1,925km, was ML Carlos Malta, who hailed from Évora, Portugal. His local major club was Vitória Setúbal FC so I wonder what drew him to France
