shaunvamos
After two previous attempts at saves on this forum failed to hold my interest (turns out I don't like making transfers in this game), I have decided to revert back to the tried and tested youth only challenge. My first attempt at youth only on FM18 resulted in success, even if the original nation didn't work out. So based on that, I've gone back to a nation and a club I've managed before, and one in which I had a lot of fun watching it grow. Off to Andorra again, and with the youth recruitment bug sorted out this should be fun, as even without upgraded youth recruitment I was still able to produce some decent players. Aims are the same as always, develop from within until we win a European club championship. National team success is also a long term aim. This is the setup I have: Portugal, France and Spain are all playable as our players may choose to go there and those three countries either share a border with or have history with Andorra. England is playable because it will be interesting to monitor how the league changes over the course of the save.

shaunvamos
Here's a look at the tactics and strength of our team as we prepare to line up in our first competitive game, a Champions League qualifier against Armenia's Alashkert: Pretty well covered in most areas, however we need a left back and defensive midfield is short of cover as well. But we have to wait 6 months for that. Age is also a major factor here, as most of our best players are over 30 with our best 2 over 35.
shaunvamos
No idea how we managed to score 8 against an Armenian side. This will change in the next round however.
shaunvamos
But hey, at least we scored, right? In fact, 4-1 against a team of that stature this early is a great start.

shaunvamos
A bit of sad news to report here, as starting winger and key player Juanfer makes an announcement: He's torn his ACL and at 34 and playing in Andorra there's no reason for him to keep playing unfortunately. It's a shame really, he was having a strong season for us.
shaunvamos
2018 Youth Intake Compared to some of the first intakes I've had in Andorra, this is actually really good! Considering we have 5 star CA players to get a 3.5* this early is promising, and the personality is ideal as well. Everyone with determination over 11 is kept as well just to fill out some depth for our team. Pretty decent. Good backup.

shaunvamos
2018 Season Review We won the treble this season, a fantastic way to start the career. It looked like it was going to be easy, but then Sant Julia & Lusitanos caught up and it was a 3 horse race until the final game. Key Players Our best player this season, but he's old and getting older. He's leaving on a free as he refused a new contract. Another member of the old guard, was lethal at left wing. Along with Juvenal he's retiring at the end of the season. Juvenal's partner in the midfield. Europe/National Team Sant Julia: lost 3-0 to Olimpija Ljubljana (SLO) in the EL 1st QR. UE Santa Coloma: lost 6-0 to Rabotnicki Skopje (MKD) in the EL 1st QR. National Team: lost every game except a draw with Gibraltar and a 2-0 win over San Marino. A low point was an 8-0 loss to Portugal. Second course completed this season.

Dev'o
Good to see a realistic Andorra challenge accepted. There was a bloke in here who was clearly using a hacked database, who went on to win the UCL within like 5-7 years :/

I guess that's why I like youth challenges as it allows me to watch the player grow while spending their whole career with me. What hurts the most is when the board goes over your head and sells them for peanuts. 4 minutes ago, Kubson said: Nice to see someone playing with Santa Coloma as well, good luck It took me 8 years to get into CL group stages with transfers so I can't imagine how hard this is gonna be! shaunvamos
2019 Youth Intake Junior coaching and youth recruitment upgrades have seen a few decent players come into the side. The depth is exceptional too. I don't know why he's rated so high, he's quick but that's about it. He's tall, can head, mark, tackle and jump. Let's hope he can be tutored as well. If he can grow, he can be good. Determination is excellent as well.

shaunvamos
2019 Season Review Very, very close to bottling it once more. Dominated the first half of the season going undefeated and then we suffered losses to Sant Julia and Lusitanos as well as a baffling loss to Inter d'Escaldes. Luckily we got our act together after the split and finished the season off on top. We had 19 players away on national duty during our 2nd Round cup game against Encamp and lost on penalties. Key Players Solid on the right wing. Smith backs up his great first season under me with another good one. One of my favourite players from previous Santa Coloma saves, Toscano spent a few weeks out injured but when he was fit, wow. Europe/National Team Lusitanos: beat Tre Fiori (SAM) 4-1 and then lost 10-0 to Norrkoping (SWE) in the EL 1st QR. Sant Julia: Lost 4-0 to Feronikeli (KVX) in the EL Prelims. Andorra: Finished last in their Euro League group but earned a draw with Moldova and a win over Kazakhstan. Other News The option to upgrade came up again which I thought was strange. Not complaining though! We gain an extra place in Europe.

shaunvamos
Look, nothing shameful about a 3-0 loss to a Slovenian side in my third season in Andorra. shaunvamos
2020 Youth Intake Personally, a little disappointed with this intake considering how far along in terms of upgrades we are, and even more disappointed to not get much needed central midfielders. That being said, the intake is very deep and the ability seems like it's there. He actually looks good for this level. He's a little slow for a winger, but it looks like he can cross a ball. Just another run of the mill defender.

shaunvamos
End of 2020 Season Review We make it 3 league wins in a row, and although the gap looks a little more convincing, it was still down to the second last game. This three way rivalry is interesting, with Lusitanos beating us, Sant Julia beating Lusitanos, and us beating Sant Julia. It all depends on how we go against other teams that ultimately separates us at the end of the season. Knocked out in penalties in the semis of the cup but that's not a big deal really. Key Players Phenomenal season from Juanma, responsible for nearly 30 league goals. At 30 too he has a few good years left for us. Narrowly missing out on featuring last season, Geffroy forced his way in here with a solid season. He will be the first entry in our Hall of Fame, seeing as he was our first regen capped. Our second entrant into the Santa Coloma HoF, Samy had an impressive debut season, scoring on average a goal every game in the league and for his country. I gave him an international cap in my first game managing the side, and he responded by scoring in the first 20 seconds, setting the record for fastest Andorran goal. Clubs in Europe/National Team Performance Lusitans: defeated Aberystwyth (WAL) 4-1 before losing to Shakhter Soligorsk (BLR) 3-0 in the EL 1st QR. Engordany: lost 7-0 to Trepca (KVX) in the EL Prelims. National Team: a win and a draw against the Faroe Islands, and then when I took over a win over Liechtenstein and a draw against Luxembourg. Yet to experience a loss as manager but I expect that will change as our next game is a friendly against Belarus. This is a massive problem because our second and only other keeper is useless. shaunvamos
Due to our achievements in Europe, we get to start from the first qualifying round, and are rewarded with this: It's not much of a reward really.
shaunvamos
Away flogging aside, we managed to win at home! Jaeger is a machine when it comes to scoring. Off to the Faroes Islands for a 3rd straight year.
shaunvamos
The win was good, but we have no real goalkeeper for 3 months as our only one dislocated his shoulder. shaunvamos
2021 Youth Intake We get much needed midfielders and a keeper here. I'm a little disappointed at the CA, but what can you do. Delighted to see we have an Aussie as well Will go straight into the first team. So bad they named him twice. He actually isn't too bad. The potential is there. shaunvamos
2021 Season Review I believe the era of Lusitanos has begun. It's going to be hard to compete with their Portuguese newgens. They beat our B team in the Cup final. Key Players There was only really one good player for us this year, as Florentin Geffroy 1A* to Sant Julia . Samy Jaeger 2A missed 7 months of the season, first with a torn hamstring then a fractured skull. The sole ray of sunshine for our season. Broke the league assists record. Clubs in Europe & the National Team Lusitanos: lost on away goals to Stara Zagora (BUL) in the EL 1st QR. Engordany: lost 5-1 to Cukaricki (SRB) in the EL 1st QR. Sant Julia: lost 5-0 to Videoton (HUN) in the EL 1st QR. Andorra: Won a grand total of zero games this season. I do not have much to work with. Hopefully that will change in the coming seasons. Figured it was time to upgrade elsewhere. On 3/29/2018 at 13:24, shaunvamos said: Reserved for Hall of Fame (youth players that have represented Andorra and Santa Coloma).
