  1. Hi(again) to everyone in this beautifull forum..After Gibraltar,Liechtenstein,Lithuania and Malta my next managerial experience will be at Spain.Well not exactly at Spain but to a nation with many connections with them,Andorra! ANDORRA LA VELLA (ANDORRA) Andorra is a sovereign landlocked microstateon the Iberian Peninsula, in the eastern Pyrenees, bordered by France in the north and Spain in the south. Believed to have been created by Charlemagne, Andorra was ruled by the Count of Urgell until 988 when it was transferred to the Diocese of Urgell, and the present principality was formed by a charter in 1278. It is known as a principality as it is a diarchy headed by two Co-Princes: the Catholic Bishop of Urgell in Spain and the President of the Republic of France. is the capital of the Principality of Andorra. It is located high in the east Pyrenees, between France and Spain. It is also the name of the parish that surrounds the capital.Andorra la Vella is the capital of the Principality of Andorra. It is located high in the east Pyrenees, between France and Spain. It is also the name of the parish that surrounds the capital.Andorra la Vella (Catalan pronunciation: [ənˈdorə lə ˈβeʎə], Spanish: Andorra la Vieja, French: Andorre-la-Vieille) is the capital of the Principality of Andorra. It is located high in the east Pyrenees, between France and Spain. It is also the name of the parish that surrounds the capital..As of 2015, the city has a population of 22,886, and the urban area, which includes Escaldes-Engordany plus satellite villages, has over 40,000 inhabitants. NATION The Andorra national football team (Catalan: Selecció de futbol d'Andorra) represents Andorra in association football and is controlled by the Andorran Football Federation, the governing body for football in Andorra. The team has enjoyed very little success due to the Principality's tiny population, the fifth smallest of any UEFA country (only Liechtenstein, San Marino, Gibraltar and the Faroe Islands are smaller). *For first time i won't manage their ''senior'' national team but for a change i took Andorra's U21 team control,i think it will be interest.. 2. Hey guys, After running out of enthusiasm for my Bosnian youth save, possibly for starting it halfway through a Europe trip, I'm back home and have decided to start a new save in a place very familiar to me in a Football Manager environment. However, there are a few tweaks to how this save is going to develop. The Idea Traditionally, the minnows to giants youth saves seem to be among the most popular on the forums, as evidenced by the multitude of Sammarinese, Faroese and Andorran saves, among other countries. However, there have been very very few that have been successful (I should know, I have a fair few of the unsuccessful ones!). Whether or not this has been due to hitting a glass ceiling in terms of nation quality, or certain bugs in the system (youth recruitment anyone), and just stalled in other ways. San Marino and Andorra have help in the fact that they have clubs in bigger nations like Italy and Spain, but the latter doesn't really offer much in terms of support to up the quality of the national team. But what if a nation had clubs in more than one nation? Three, in fact. Enter Andorra. They have ties with France, Spain and Portugal. What I've done is created three identical teams, one for each country, and placed them into the lowest playable league in the nation. Each with the same stadium (Andorra's national stadium), facilities (10/20 across the board), kits etc. The only real difference is the reputation, which I made as a middle ground in the division, not too strong to get promoted straight away and not too weak to be relegated, possibly to be never seen again. They even have the same name, 'The Youth of Andorra', each translated to the language of the nation they will be playing in (Portuguese, French, and Spanish). It's an experiment of sorts, to try and see if it will help develop Andorra as a footballing nation and hopefully spill over into the domestic side of things. As for the club I am managing, it is a club formerly known as FC Engordany, rebranded as the Catalan translation of The Youth of Andorra (I think). Joventud d'Andorra Squad This is the squad that I inherited. It's a decent squad, an experienced squad, but it's not a very Andorran squad. Aims of the Save - Take the club as far as possible, both domestically and elsewhere using players only from our academy - Topple domestic giants FC Santa Coloma, while holding off the challenge of Lusitans and the rest - Eventually take over the National Team, and take them as far as possible -Monitor the progress of the other 'Youth of Andorra' teams in their respective countries, and determine whether or not my experiment works Let me know what you guys think, feedback is much appreciated. I can't wait to start
  3. So with the new uni season starting, but also with no money in my pocket, the only sensible solution is to start a new, hopefully long term, save in a ******** of a league, with a crappy team, and to put salt on the wound, going youth only The pick of the team is CE Carroi from the Andorra Segona Divisio! I actually went with Carroi because as we see in Wikipedia: Founded in 2014 as a football academy[1] CE Carroi has been a successful club at the national youth level also taking part in internationally renowned youth competitions in Europe, such as the Mediterranean International Cup[2] or the Andorra International Cup.Although, the club is known by his football academy and school, in July 2015 CE Carroi created a senior team to compete at the highest levels in the country thus being admitted in Segona Divisió. And in the pic above you can see the poor ****er myself, hopefully the builder of a succesful Andorran football empire
  4. After two previous attempts at saves on this forum failed to hold my interest (turns out I don't like making transfers in this game), I have decided to revert back to the tried and tested youth only challenge. My first attempt at youth only on FM18 resulted in success, even if the original nation didn't work out. So based on that, I've gone back to a nation and a club I've managed before, and one in which I had a lot of fun watching it grow. Off to Andorra again, and with the youth recruitment bug sorted out this should be fun, as even without upgraded youth recruitment I was still able to produce some decent players. Aims are the same as always, develop from within until we win a European club championship. National team success is also a long term aim. This is the setup I have: Portugal, France and Spain are all playable as our players may choose to go there and those three countries either share a border with or have history with Andorra. England is playable because it will be interesting to monitor how the league changes over the course of the save.
  5. FC Santa Coloma is an Andorran football team based in the village of Santa Coloma, in the parish of Andorra la Vella. The club currently plays in Primera Divisió, and is its current champion and most successful team with ten titles. It is also the most successful team in the Copa Constitució, winning it eight times. I got kind of bored with the Crotone save and decided to give myself a massive challenge that is winning the Champions League with an Andorran team (hopefully by 2200 ). Unlike the other usual San Marino/Andorra this is not going to be a youth ONLY challenge, I am going to sign a lot of young players, but the I'll be trying to keep the core of the team Andorran. Basically, the aim of this save is going to be make Santa Coloma the best club, while also improving the quality of the Andorran natioanl team. Wish me luck In terms of updates, as the Andorran league is very short, I'll be doing updates after I finish a season, going to try put as many european updates as I can though. The club is actually semi-professional which will be an advantage (I think) in the early stages. We are playing in Champions League, which I'm sure will help out the financial side of the club and help improve our awful facilities. This is our team, as you can see I have some 16 year olds, that is due to the fact i ticked on add players to playable teams at the start of the save. Our best player is Juvenal who looks incredible for this level, his passing, first touch and free kick look immense. His physicals aren't too shabby either. Juvenal has actually been in La liga in his career and his stats show why. What to expect in next update? Champions League qualification and financial update. After that I'll show you the domestic competitions at the end of the year. See you very (hopefully :P) soon
  6. Welcome to my actual last thread of FM17. My last thread got cancelled early on because of save-file manipulation and I wasn't really feeling it anyway so I have decided to return to a one-club career, and one I was not going to be able to try at the start of FM18. The club I will be taking over is F.C. Andorra. Quite a lovely crest if I say so myself! They play in the Primera Catalana, which translates to the fifth tier of Spanish football. That's right, they are much like San Marino Calcio in Italy: a club that hails from a small European nation but plays in the football pyramid of a much larger one. Of course FC Andorra are not playable in the vanilla DB of Football Manager, but with a data-update it is possible. And what a moment it seems to be to take control of this club! I'm using a data-update for the Spanish system which adds the Tercera División, the fourth tier of Spanish football, and after a year of holidaying FC Andorra came up, with a whole range of other clubs. Because, if you didn't know already, the Tercera División consists of eighteen regional leagues. FC Andorra plays in the Catalan leagues (their spot in the Primera Catalana was a give away) so they have been promoted to play in the 5th group of the Tercera Division, the Catalan group of course. I've also loaded the Claassen update for the Andorra leagues, and have loaded all players from Spanish and Andorran nationalities and all players who are based in the two nations. The main goal for this thread will be to improve the club - but I don't have a set target otherwise. I don't know yet how long I will be continuing this career. At least until the next game is released, but maybe longer than that if I'm still really enjoying this save. Some more screenshots to show you what I'm dealing with: Not the best of facilities obviously, and the club has turned semi-professional after the promotion to the Tercera División. No grand history or anything, so a clean slate for me. Even though we have just been promoted, we are already predicted to finish 5th, and the board wants me to get to the promotion play-offs (top 4). That won't be easy, seeing as we've just turned semi-pro and all the players are on amateur contracts and we have zero staff. I've also not given myself any playing history or badges. This is the squad at the start and as you can see they're all on amateur contracts. Some players seem decent though, I just hope I can keep them. I've been given a 250K p/a wage budget but since I've no knowledge of players I'm not sure how easy it's going to be to get players in that are big improvements. Just one more screenshot that is of interest: The league rules. We can only register 22 players, of which only 16 are allowed to be older than 23 years, which is a real pain. All of the players already here are old and for me it's not so easy to find new young players who can immediately improve my squad. Oh well, we'll have to make do I guess. We also can only use 5 subs, which I don't like at all. But welcome to my thread! I'm going to update this thread somewhat differently than I've done in the past. I've usually done these threads (semi-)annually, but this time I'll post updates monthly, just to see if that'll improve my threads and to be more regular with it, and I don't have to wait with posting anything. I've also enjoyed other threads on here that do it like that.
  7. So far in FM18, I have managed in Sweden, Iceland, England, Scotland, Wales & Andorra. My Scottish youth only save is on hold but I may well return to it. Ditto my Swedish one. I was fired after just eight games in Wales, putting a rather premature end to that game. The most fun I have had has been in Andorra, despite the contract bug for newly part time clubs. So I am going back there, with a different club this time. Game Type - One club. Reputation - Sunday League. Starting Qualifications - None. Editor's Used - Real Competition Names. Huge database. Andorran league database. Leagues Loaded Andorra. Number of Nations Loaded - One. Number of Leagues Loaded - Two. Number of Players Loaded - 11,660. I have loaded all players from the Andorra leagues, including those in the lower leagues, as well as all players of Andorran nationality. Database Size - Huge. Game Start Date - 5 June 2017. Updates - I only intend to update at the end of each season, together with the youth candidates day. Youth - I will tag all who are rated to have 3 stars potential and above. YP18A1 for example, would mean Youth Player from 2018. The "A" means he is the best prospect from that intake and the "1" means he is the first youth prospect I have produced in my career. Records - If you have ever read one of my threads, you will know I am a bit of a statto, so will be keeping detailed records during this save which you can see in the next few posts.
  8. Everybody loves rooting for the little guy! I've loved reading everyone's stories of their careers taking a club from one of Europe's tiniest countries and making them a European powerhouse! I've seen some amazing stories around San Marino, Gibraltar, the Faroes and Luxembourg and decided to go for something similar. I'm a massive fan of @Jupjamies amazing San Marino save and the insane amount of patience that takes... My aim is simple, though stupidly hard, take a team from each of the smallest nations: Malta, Andorra, San Marino, Luxembourg & the Faroe Islands and complete the following steps: Get to and win their top domestic division! Turn Professional! (& hopefully bring some other clubs with me) Win Multiple Domestic Cups! Qualify for the Champs League Group Stages! Only Use Players of that nationality! (Little different from other saves, I have no issue signing other prospects from each country, as long as they're under 20 at the time). Once each nation is established and the national team is up to the top 50 in the world I must move onto the next country! This is going to have to be a passion project because it's going to take AGES! I did a Maltese only save before and got beyond frustrated after 12 years in FM 16. Fingers crossed we can keep it going this time! The plan is to post a pre/post season entry, a youth intake entry and any other major achievements/announcements. SOOOOOO.....where to begin....
  9. Hello again, As many of you know, I started a save in Gibraltar. However, upon hearing that it is impossible to increase the European places no matter how high the coefficient rose, I decided to pull the plug on it and head elsewhere. I remember my time in Andorra in previous versions and how much I enjoyed it there, so I have returned there to finish what I started. I have decided to go with FC Santa Coloma again, as a 31 year old Catalonian former Sunday League player with a National A license. The goals here are fairly simple. Aim to make Andorra the best country in Europe on both a domestic and international front. I will only use academy players from my intake. I might leave the option to resign any former academy players, as technically they were a product of the club. Hopefully it all goes well this time around! Nation: Andorra Founded: 1986 Status: Semi-Pro Estimated Value: 220K Training Facilities: Poor Youth Facilities: Basic Youth Recruitment: Limited Junior Coaching: Minimal I arrive with huge expectations, and I definitely aim to achieve that and more!
  10. The issue is as follows: I have set the primary language of Andorra to Catalan (*). Newgens at all clubs based in Andorra do have Catalan as their first language. The (rare) foreigner that ends up at a club playing in Andorra does learn the Catalan language as well. However; neither staff nor players at the Andorran club of FC Andorra that plays in the Spanish League system seem to learn Catalan. Newgens generated at FC Andorra are fluent though. Is this one of the perks of having a club based in another country or am I overseeing something? *) Catalan is first language of the country Andorra; language of all towns removed.
  11. The Small Four is a custom idea where you must take a team from Gibraltar, Andorra, San Marino, and Kosovo to both International and European glory. This save file will be following the custom Gibraltarian team, known as Gibraltar Rocks, named after the Rock of Gibraltar. There will be 3 other saves following the teams in Andorra, San Marino and Kosovo, as I hope to win the World Cup, the Euros, and the Champions Cup with all 4 teams. There will be a write up after every 3 game months to show how the team develops throughout the years.
