lewis999
Not the challenge I have been looking for but I want to get back into management as quickly as possible. I'm bored just clicking continue . I may not get it and I may not even accept it, but if I do decide to then it will be a couple of seasons maximum to try and win a title and knock Celtic off their dominant perch. Also the added prospect of Europe is appealing. EDIT : Didn't get the job! Still on the look out.
lewis999
Had job interviews from 5-6 teams in the Championship but I don't want to manage there. 1 from Dijon in Ligue 2. Rangers but didn't get the job. One in Portugal from Guimaraes but didn't get it. So still without a club. Not sure where to go just yet, a bit stuck. lewis999
Why not Championship? That would be quite a natural step up from a job in Ireland, wouldn't it? I suppose it would mate but most years on FM I predominantly manage in England so I wanted to try other countries and continents.
lewis999
I've found my new job! They have been down in the second tier for 11 seasons and living in the very, very large shadow of their Munich rivals Bayern. They are in quite a lot of debt for a second tier club. I need to reduce the wage bill by quite a bit as well which is going to be hard as we are lacking quality as it is but I did want a challenge and I believe this is going to be one. With one game left they are lurking perilously close to relegation to the 3rd tier which would almost definitely plunge the club into administration and possible point deductions. Next season is going to be a clean slate and the deadwood out of the door and young players with a lot of potential coming in.

lewis999
A bit of background on my new club. They got relegated to the 3. Bundesliga in 2015/16 and then won that same league the year after so they are newly promoted in game which I didn't know. Apart from that 3rd division trophy they haven't won anything in a while so i'm hoping I can resolve that. Oh god even the journalists know we aren't in the best place financially. This is going to be hard. So we played 3rd in the league away from home and were doing really, really well until the 85th minute where we just collapsed for some reason. annoyed me a little because i've started off at my new club with a loss but it gave me some encouragement as they ended up finishing 2nd and were automatically promoted to the bundesliga. The final league table isn't the best viewing but i'm sure this time next year we will be further up than that. Looking forward to a very important and busy summer. Yeah it is a shame I would of taken the Rangers job to try and make them the best team in Scotland. Wittek was sold to Stuttgart for peanuts (180k) but looks very good. No I use Gyazo which is the easiest thing in the world to use. I love their kits Very interested to see how you do here - looks like a much bigger challenge domestically than Cork were. I do too, they're brilliant. Yeah it is going to be a much bigger challenge, i'm still going through pre-season and trying to put together a squad that can try and reach the Bundesliga. lewis999
Nice. I've been considering 1860 as a decent one-club save sometime. They would be a good choice as they are rivals to Bayern and share the stadium. I've found them upon hard times at the moment but i'm hoping I can change that. lewis999
I'm struggling to find many young german players to sign. Most of the young talented players are from abroad, the only German ones are loanees from Bundesliga clubs.
lewis999
1860 Munchen|Pre-Season|2018/2019 The first good news of pre-season was, that the board have agreed to upgrade the youth coaching level. Well, as I thought the summer was very, very busy. Almost a full new team in and the old team out with a few exceptions. My hand was forced with some of the players as they had offers from either Bundesliga clubs or more reputable clubs in our division and/or abroad which meant I had to sell if I wanted to start the season with a happy squad. I inherited a club which had a 3/4 prospects with seemingly high potential as top Bundesliga clubs were interested and that resulted in a few bids being made. Obviously they weren't good enough as they never are so I rejected them, only for each player to complain so i'm in the process of having to sell my best young players but i'm holding out for decent fees and sell on %'s too so it's worth my while. If not they can stay in the U19's. Transfers As I said, loads of incomings and outgoings, in fact the first game of the season we only had 2 survivors from last season. We had a few incomings from England as you can see and some from other countries. I didn't sign as many German players as I wanted but there were a few. Some of these players are young players for the U19's as we plan for the future. I'm still in the process of offloading some players that want out and some of the young players that have been disrupted. We have way too many loan players for my liking but I didn't want to sign any players on permanent contracts just for the sake of it and harm our future, especially with the financial situation we are in. As we had a lot of new signings I wanted our morale to be high for the start of the season so we arranged friendlies against lower league teams. So we have a media predicion of 14th out of 18th and we are 40-1 to win the title. I've put £50 on it. I don't if this is good or bad but we start our season away against guess who? Frankfurt, the favourites to win the league and sweep all before them. Let's hope we can get off to a fast start.
lewis999
Starting the Season So like I mentioned above we kick off the season away from home against the title favourites. This could be good to get out of the way or good in the sense of we can match up our credentials and see what we can acheive this season. We were brilliant. They had no clear cut chances and they have some Bundesliga class players still. We won it quite late on and I would of been happy with a point but we took all 3 in arguably our hardest match of the season. Looking ahead to the month of August and we have some more hard games to play. Ingolstadt and St.Pauli are both good teams.

lewis999
August|2018/2019 So close to a perfect month. Ingolstadt have a media prediction of 3rd which, more than likely means they will be up near the top with the likes of Frankfurt, Nürnberg and Augsburg. We went 1-0 down and then pushed really hard to get an equaliser and conceded a second on the break so we had to put that behind us quickly and move on. We managed to do that and progress in the cup with 2 more league wins to make the table look like this : Sat in a good place after the first month and lets hope it continues. We have a tough away game against Augsburg in September but as you can see above they haven't managed to pick up a win yet after 4 games.
lewis999
September|2018/2019 Awful, woeful, ****, whatever you want to call it, it was that and then some. We seem to love giving teams goals and then smashing our chances wide and over. The Augsburg game we deserved to lose and the last two I believe we had the better quality of chances but the stupid goals we gave away means we deserved to lose as it was schoolboy stuff. The month started off well even though they were even matches we shaded them. After that downhill and I let the team know, trust me. So after 9 games we have dropped down to 6th. Not awful but our recent performances are. We need to win our next game or else a few people will be down the job centre. We play the league leaders Braunschweig which will be a tough game although i'm not sure how they are where they are looking at their players comparable to other teams. lewis999
We have some good news after a horrible month results wise. Firstly the board have paid for my next coaching badge which is nice. Also the board have decided to upgrade both training and youth facilities which is great news.

lewis999
Quite a decent start to your life at new club. Thanks, a lot better than they were fairing last season so at least we're in a better place as a club.
lewis999
October|2018/2019 No goals conceded and no losses so a very good month. Performances weren't as good as I would like and i'm hoping a few tactical tweaks can make us into a more sturdier unit and a bigger threat. I'm glad we progressed in the DFB Pokal as the prize money and TV money we got from the Darmstadt game was very welcome. It doesn't mention we were on TV but I got a message saying we were. 3 points away from Braunschweig at the top is a very good return at this point as we are predicted to be near the bottom. I'm a bit annoyed that my top scorer is injured and has been all this month. As soon as he's back i'd like to think we will score more. He's a real handful with his strength and pace. Only 3 matches this month so another unbeaten month is what i'm aiming for. Hopefully all my new players will properly get settled and we can start playing more like a team instead of inconsistent. So we've drawn Kaiserslautern away and it's not the worst draw even though they're in the Bundesliga. They are 16th in the league at the moment so not doing too well. You'll also notice Bayern aren't there. RBL knocked them out in the second round 1-0 at the Allianz.
lewis999
November|2018/2019 So I got my unbeaten month and the two draws were against 2nd and 4th so I suppose with their squads I have to be fairly happy. The 2-0 was routine as Großaspach haven't won a game yet all season and look certain to go down. So we're close to the halfway stage and we are in the play-off spot; 3rd. I'm happy with that as it's only 2 points off top spot and the automatic promotion places. 3 home games next month which I am very pleased about. We have the Christmas break after that and a training camp has been arranged so the players can get used to each other more before we start the second half of the season. I'll be looking to offload some players that I don't use, to bring the wage budget down for next season. You get 11m for 2nd and 12m for 3rd give or take so that is the target. I can get a lot of good players for that amount of money for our hopeful assault of the Bundesliga.
lewis999
December|2018/2019 Nearly a perfect month before the winter break. We were absolutely unstoppable against Ingolstadt who were 5th before we played them. We had our top scorer back for that game as you can probably tell. Nils is the most important player for the team. No goals conceded which is a massive plus as clean sheets is what I pride my teams on. Although saying that we are playing with a more aggressive system than when we were in Ireland with Cork. 19 games gone and we're at the top of the pile. It's been a good season so far and long may it continue. I'm going to get all the squad match fit for when we re-start the competitive games so I can rotate and not lose our intensity to closing down and out running our opponents. I have some wages left and I have no choice but to plan for the Bundesliga with the position we find ourselves in so I shall be looking for potential free signings for next season who can do a job if we go up. This is a good sign......We trounced them and they have a state of the art academy. We have a lot of potential in this U19 team and i'm excited about a few players even though we lost some at the start of the season as they threw their toys out of the pram. Hopefully we can add to that potential with the impending youth intake this season.

lewis999
February|2018/2019 We need to stop dropping points, but worse than that we need to be more of a threat against teams lower down the league. Think I need to change a few things. We're still top somehow, down to the fact other teams are playing badly and not because we are doing really well. Hopefully we can keep grinding these wins and draws out for the next 12 games. First two games will be very tough as Karlsruhe are creeping up the league and obviously Kaiserslautern are in the Bundesliga. Augsburg are also loitering just below the play-off spot and have a very good team despite their league position. Should be a lot higher than where they are. It's youth intake time soon as well so there will be an update for that too. Stay tuned and up the 1860 Munich!

lewis999
Youth Intake|2018/2019 Not the best but we have one guy especially who looks like he might be quite good. 4 have been offered contracts but we have loads of strikers in the youth team so I think the best two are going to be moved to 1860 Munich II for some competitive games. lewis999
This board seem to be allowing me time off the training field to get my qualifications. Cork City would never let me. Anyhow it's very welcome news as I look to develop my career.

lewis999
So we did our bit but did the other two? Yes they did. Frankfurt got a last minute winner which was a kick in the teeth. They struggle so hard irl, it's insane. Their youth academy though is gorgeous. Is Ismaik still the owner in your save? Thanks mate, it has been a bit of a struggle finance wise. We've relied a lot on loanees which I kind of needed to do. Next year we will have a lot less of them. In regards to the owners I thought it best to show you with some pictures. I haven't been able to find any info on Mr. Ismaik. They're the current owners. This i've never seen before but it's interesting. I wonder who wants to see the back of him. Just found this so I have no idea why he's nowhere to be found on my game.

lewis999
This is the situation with our last match about to be played. All 3 teams are away from home. vossmaj
Hey Lewis, still a hot race. You missed to Report your match 32 though You drew against somebody... Ismaik is kind of a joke in the German Football Scene. It seems like he had in mind to buy a Club and rule it like Abramovic at Chelsea or like Katar at PSG and ManCity. Seems like he didn't know the German "50+1" rule which prohibits any single owner to own more than 50% and be the one and only decision maker (unless you are Club owner for at least 20 or 25 years). 1860 always tended to embarass themselves over a lot of internal trash talk and missing professionalism and with Ismaik it even worsened. And finally lewis999 came and brought peace and success back to this Club! Once again: excellent work.
lewis999
Last Day Title Race 5 minutes : Nurnburg have gone 1-0 up. We're still in the automatic spots but we need to get one ourselves to be safe. 28 minutes : Dusseldorf have gone 1-0 up against Frankfurt which is brilliant for us. Bit of an insurance policy if we can't find a way through. Makes the league look like this.... 45 minutes : ****! Frankfurt have equalised and it's as you were. A bit too close for my liking. They do need 2 more goals as we have scored more but they are on a brilliant run of form in the last 13-15 games so it's possible. 52 minutes : WooooooooooooooHoooooooo! It's 1-0 to the Munich and our top scorer has got it. The title is obviously my target now and we are doing our own job so far. This puts us at the top of the league and the fans are deafening. 54 minutes : I love you Dusselforf. Frankfurt need another 3 now in just over half an hour. Possible of course but realistic, maybe not. Looks like we will be in the Bundesliga next year. 5 points clear and i'm very happy so far. 59 minutes : Frankfurt have 1 out of the 3 needed straight away. We're still winning so fingers crossed. 4 points now but we're still winning so it's okay. There were no more goals in any of the 3 games........... WE HAVE DONE IT! AGAINST THE ODDS! lewis999
We did a very professional job in the last game but all season we were grinding out good results and hard fought draws and wins to string our unbeaten runs together. It's a cliche but that's what championship winning teams are good at. Uh-oh! This isn't brilliant, hopefully when we get given the actual budgets later on they factor in the TV rights and other things because it will be a massive struggle with that budget.I don't think i'm one of the best managers around. I haven't won anything of note but it's nice to receive. That's more like it, hopefully the board give me some of that so we don't come straight back down. We got this message after the initial budget thankfully.
lewis999
Hey Lewis, still a hot race. I got too excited with the title race. Thanks for the kind words. I didn't know about that rule but it's a clever one. I didn't know the history on 1860 but i'm glad I could come in and stabilise the club.
vossmaj
If you're interested in 1860's history, maybe this helps: https://www.theguardian.com/football/englische-woche/2015/jun/10/1860-munich-bayern-bundesliga-germany-football I have to stand corrected a bit: Due to the 50+1 rule nobody is allowed to hold more than 49% (not 50) of a Club. So Ismaik indeed holds 60% of 1860 BUT only 49% of them can be used to vote in the Club and influence decisions. After 1860 just managed to avoid Relegation again, he talks about titles and promises a new stadium. Combine this with Ismaik failing to pay what we owes the Club or the league (don't ask me for details - I just want to give the Picture), you get an idea of what I mean with "becoming a joke". But enough of that. Go on and celebrate your success. And have fun in the matches against FC Bayern. Cause there won't be many points to gain.
