What do you do in bad weather?

Recommended Posts

What I've read that other players say works:

snow: less snow in the middle of the pitch, easier to play there. Or play more direct.

rain: short passes will slow down fast, pass more direct.

wind: long passes will be less accurate.

What about long shots in the rain, do they work at all, can the ball slip from keeper's hands, or slide on the pitch to change direction? And what about crosses in heavy wind, do you drill them then (drilled crosses generally suck, from my experience at least)?

I don't change a thing :)

I'm poorly qualified to comment really, as I operate on a very lazy basis on FM, but tend to do OK in spite of that laziness.

Same here, I don't change anything based on weather, opposition, or anything other than my own players strengths really.

Well, I primarily play in Scotland, where it's 22 F, hailing, and the pitch is frozen solid - we just run out in our short kits, maybe wear some gloves to keep our fingers pliable so we can grab the beer mug after the game, and play on.
