SAFCrhys_keanoFTM
On my AC milan game, one of my youth team players contracted a viral condition and was out for 9 months! I wasn't too bothered as he was a youth team player and the coach reports suggested that I should offload him sooner rather than later. I had never had one of my players contract a viral condition before and assumed that it wouldn't happen again. Then the next day I read my inbox and Kaka and Gattusso contracted viral conditions too! Both out for 8-9 months. So I switched my game off. I know that I might get some grief for doing that but believe me, you would of too if your key players were out for 9 months. SAFCrhys_keanoFTM
But I sent him away to a specialist so shouldn't it not affect any of mt players?
Ninjamark
But I sent him away to a specialist so shouldn't it not affect any of mt players? Viral conditions can be passed onto others before they are diagnosed... that might be why they contracted it. As for the reload... it's your decision... but some people will give you abuse on here for it.
Mike7077
As for the reload... it's your decision... but some people will give you abuse on here for it. Actually, the vast majority of people's philosophy on General Discussion is that each person buys the game and can play it however they like. If that involves reloading, it's up to them. You'll only get grief from the occasional newer forum member who bounces in with an 'I-got-Basingstoke-to-the-Champions-League-final-without-reloading-Aren't-I-great?-Aren't-you-weak?' mentality. rinso
can happen irl as well, anyone remember Markus Babbel?? he missed the best part of a season with a viral condition... and as there's a gap in between you being notified that he contracted the virus, and you specifying his treatment, its possible for others to contract it... Yeah, but Babbel's conditions was very rare and I don't think it was actually a virus. Although I'm no doctor. Whatever it was, there was no danger of it ever spreading around the Liverpool squad. rinso
this is what Babbel had, not sure whether its contagious or not, was mainly an example to justify the length of the absence....
Cavenagh
Guillain-Barré isn't contagious, but there are many viruses that are. And many that take a long time to recover from. And many that can hit without warning. It's bad luck to have three players out for viral conditions, just as it's bad luck to have three out for broken legs, shin splints or any other long term conditions. Personally, I'd have looked at it as a chance to try other players, bring new ones in or try an alternative tactic. That's where the challenge of a management game lies; dealing with adversity as well as success.
Gentleman
Perhaps we should get an option 'Put the team into quarantaine'? ;-)

Äktsjon Männ
Could be a training issue... Nah, not if they get injured during matches. I've had these 8 month viruses as well in previous FMs. Would say it happens a bit too often, but then 08 is much better in this regard than 07 was so I'm not that bothered. Tough luck though for the OP. I would be very p*ssed off if that happened to my key players. It's not really realistic either.
