PRDH & aldojags - About DC Villaseñor. I'm now in January of next season and I have the best defensive record in the 1st division, but señor Villaseñor's avg is is still just below 7. Back in Mexico, when he was playing for Chivas he averaged around 7.50 for 3 seasons in a row before coming to Ávila. Perhaps its my tactics, or maybe he will pick up pace later on.

In late December, early January Los Abulenses were taken over by a consortium, and I missed out on Wojciech Szczesny whose contract with Arsenal is running out (transfer embargo). The consortium wants to appoint Juande Ramos as manager, and Ramos was spotted at Adolfo Suárez when I played against At. Madrid. I'm happy I won that game. I'm a club legend, but at the moment my position might not be secure even though my job status is untouchable. On a more positive note the new board pumped £45M into the club and promised to improve training facilities, though for some reason the improvements were cancelled not long after the plans were announced.

Keçiorengücü 2031/32 Season Review

Quick Overview

Premier Division: 1st

Championship Group: Winners!!

(qualified for next season’s Champions League Group Stage)

Turkish Cup: Semi-finalists

Super Cup: Winners!!

Champions League: 1st Knockout Round

Premier Division

It was a little more difficult this season as Galatasaray bounced back to challenge us for top spot. We matched each other win for win until we pulled away slightly at the end of the season to top the table by 5 points.

Final Table

Championship Group

A win over Galatasaray in our first game us off to a great start. They defeated us in the return but it was too late for them as we easily handled Fenerbahçe and Trabzonspor to secure title number 11.

Final standings

Super Cup

We also won Super Cup number 11, beating Fenerbahçe 3-0.

Turkish Cup

A good run to the semis, including a win away to Fenerbahçe, came to an abrupt halt as we were surprised by Mersin in the semis.

Results

Champions League

Everything began well as we beat Bayern Munich in Germany 4-1. We then proceeded to top our group with a 100% record before crashing out to AC Milan in the first knockout round.

The Squad: Transfers

We were more active in the transfer market this year as Tim Penfold and Nabil Saidi were sold after complaining about their contracts even though they still had 4 years to run. José Sa came in as a replacement at left-back and did very well. We splashed out to sign Turkish international centre-back Iskender Özlem for 20 million form Schalke and it proved to be worth every penny as he had a great season and was voted fans’ player of the year. In January, we shored up the defence a bit more by bringing in Santos, who was available surprisingly cheaply.

The Squad: Key Players

Kadir Alagöz (DC)* – The arrivals of Iskender and Santos restricted his starts a little but he still did well.

Şahin Kaya (DM)* - Injuries to other players meant he got more game time this year and showed that he’s still got it.

Claudio Garcia Ramon (MC) – Once again, started off most of our attacks and is now in the Spanish side as well.

Boris Brkovic (AMR) – Established himself as first choice, provided plenty of assists and grabbed a few goals as well.

Atahan Şen (AML)* – Eventually dropped his wage demands and signed a new deal and turned in another impressive season.

Ömer Öcal (AML/ST) – I retrained him as a winger and he provided quality support both out wide and in a central attacking position.

Emrah Özkan (ST)* - Finally stayed fit for a full season and scored an impressive number of goals.

Henry Huitema (ST) – Scored plenty and set plenty up as well. A few big European clubs are sniffing around but I hope I can keep him.

The Squad: Ones to watch

Hamit Şener Takıl (DR)* – Came through our youth academy last year but ended up thrown into first team action as Fırat Pak spent 5 months out with a broken leg. Equipped himself well and looks like a future first team star.

Kemal Mocan (DC)* - another good season as back-up. Now labelled as a ‘wonderkid’.

Adnan Arslan (MC)* – Another decent season as back-up in centre midfield.

The Squad: Honourable mentions

Alexandre Tavares and Erman Ergin* aren’t scoring as freely as they were a few seasons ago but both reached milestones this season as Tavares scored his 300th goal for the blub and Ergin reached 200 league goals.

*denotes player from the club’s youth system

The Season Ahead…

Still waiting – try to win the Champions League and complete the challenge!

Good news on the sponsorship front as all are deals were renewed and we now earn over 11 million a year from endorsements (compared to the previous 5 million). More good news as it seems our consistent performances in the Champions League together with a couple of other Turkish teams doing well in the Europa League in recent seasons means the Turkish League will have an extra team in the Champions League at the end of the season.

dodgeed another dominant season domestically, there's no doubt you've got the players, just need that wee bit of luck to go your way and you'll complete. I was in same situation, just keep going, believe in your players and it'll happen! That rb looks fantastic, although I am disappointed Pak was injured he is class! As is Alagoz. The new CB coming through looks the part too.

Thanks aldojags. It was frustrating that we lost so easily to Milan after storming the group stage... I've got an easy group this year (Benfica, Celtic and Salzburg) so I should be back in the knockout rounds again. Let's see how far we can go. Pak is back to full fitness well and has picked up where he left off. That was a relief as Ergin's development (and before him Woodford's) kind of stalled after a lengthy lay off.

Hi guys, I'm doing my nominations over this weekend but it is taking me ages to go through the thread again, when is the deadline? I may have to fill it up with some random selections at this rate as I've still got 40 pages to get through. I have done the top 14 awards but may still change some as I go.

Also will the following awards be matter of fact rather than nominations and do I just put my own records in there?

Most Goals

Who got the most goals in a season?

Most Assists

Who got the most assists in a season?

Most Clean Sheets

Who got the most clean sheets in a season?

Yup. I think LLR was hoping to have them in by Monday.

Progress has been slow thanks to lack of time, but I'm through to the Semi-Finals of the Champions League (Celtic got through to the quarters!). Got to play Inter Milan now. Also already won the SPL, gaining the 'big C' on the last game of the 'regular' season.

Ligue 1

Table Graph Fixtures 1 Fixtures 2

Had it won with 8 games to spare, the standard has really fallen in this league compared to when I first won it, when OM Lyon and PSG were all regularly getting to latter stages of CL, now the 4 of them struggle to get into top 4. That's 12 in a row.

Club Info

Finances - made loads of cash this season, the high attendances keep me ticking over despite my ridiculously high wage bill. Thinking of spending some serious cash on a couple of established superstars just to assert my authority and try and deliver a 2nd Champions League.

Transfers - nothing major in this season.

Facilities - stuck on "well established" youth recruitment, hasn't let me increase for about 15 years.

Well, I have won the World Club Championship, and have won everything there is to win with Viry-Chatillon. There is a World Cup about to go ahead in my save, no doubt there will be some vacancies from that, and I would like a crack at International management before FM13. I think I'm going to struggle to let go of this save, I've never enjoyed so much success in a save. It'll be hard to give this up to go back to part time players and holding team meetings every time I lose 5 games in a row! Anyone else feeling this way!?

thanks prdh, yeh Roger really is vital to my team, he's getting better every year. I wonder what sort of records he'd have broken if he wasn't rested so often. I regularly save him for CL games and important league games, he usually only plays around 20 league games a season. And he might not feature in the cups until the final. But I need to wrap him in cotton wool he's my best player. Hence the ridiculous wage I've given him to keep him here! I'm really proud of his France record too, given that for all of Roger's career, France have been woeful.

Cardoso is stunning, imagine we could have paired those 2, what a lethal combination. They would be perfectly balanced too, with Cardoso being left sided and Roger right sided, they would have conquered the world! His international record is absolutely stunning! I take it he must be Portugal's all time scorer? Roger is currently on 50 goals, 14 short of Benzema's 64. He's still only 28, 5 goals a season would see him being the all time top scoring France player by the time he's 31, that is totally do-able.

Alas he's not Portugal's top scorer. Cristiano Ronaldo scored 111 goals for them before he retired.

They'd have been great, Cardoso has the creative and passing ability and Roger the explosive pace and pure finishing. There'd have been no defeating Lusitania Viry-Chatillon!

30th January 2050. Pedro Cardoso's 503rd league appearance for Lusitânia Açores, it's against Freamunde.

In the 41st minute Rodolfo Marques is brought down in the box. Cardoso steps up and slams it to the goalkeeper's left. 399.

Five minutes later (45+1), a corner comes in towards him. His initial shot is blocked. The rebound falls to Luis Pereira who shoots low. Cardoso gets the faintest of touches to the ball. It goes in. He's claiming it, and no one's going to argue with him. 400 league goals for Pedro Cardoso!

He's not done though. In the 76th minute he takes advantage of a penalty box scramble to smash home for his hat trick. 401

The next aim will have to be for him to be established as the oldest goalscorer for the club. A record currently held by legendary defender Merenah Descazals who was 35 years and 353 days old, Cardoso is currently 35 years and 333 days old. He should be able to do it.

And, with that milestone achieved, I might do a little Cardoso update.

Lusitânia Açores - Pedro Cardoso - The career of a legend

So, here he is when he emerged from the youth academy, a player with the world at his feet, if he could just learn to move them a bit faster.

As a 17-year-old he was starting to make progress, only three goals from 16 substitute appearances, but he was showing enough for me to keep faith. At this stage he was behind the great Edemilson Mendes in the starting line up.

A year later his career was already starting to fly. He began to push for first team football at just 18 and plundered 17 goals in all competitions. At this stage he was rotating with Mendes.

As a 19-year-old he established himself as a first team regular with a brilliant season. He got 20 goals in the league for the first time and more than 30 in all competitions.

By his twentieth birthday he was the undisputed main man at the business end of the pitch. He again got twenty+ goals in the league and laid on a further 13 for his team mates.

He really announced himself on the world stage as he went past 21. He got his first international caps, and though he didn't get the first goal, he did pass 100 for the club. It was also the year he really developed into a world class talent. He'd always been technically brilliant, but his physical stats leapt on and he became a real handful. Another 20 league goals were his reward.

The next season was a tough one for the young man. He was in absolutely brutal form, some of the best of his career, but injury cut short his season. He scored a staggering 25 goals in 18 appearances as he terrorised defenders around Portugal, if not on the European stage quite yet.

His best season, statistically speaking, came as a 23-year-old. The team reached the Quarter finals of the Champions League and he hit 36 goals in the league and an amazing 55 in all competitions. A record which still stands today.

The 2037/38 season was a monumental one for the club, but a disappointing one for Cardoso himself. It was the season of out Champions' League win. A win Cardoso was suspended for leaving a hole in his medal collection which, for a long time, looked liked it wouldn't be filled. Not only did he miss out on the final but he scored a disappointing, for him, 16 goals in the league. His form in Europe before his discipline let him down was good though, racking up 10 goals as we won the cup.

38/39 saw us reach the final again, but Cardoso again missed out through suspension. Would he ever get his hands on it. I also did a small update for the season which didn't see a lot of screenshots.

In his 236th league game, Cardoso scored his 200th goal and the season was a good one generally, with him scoring 32 in all competitions. He was also made captain.

The next season saw some struggles, he hit bad patches of form and failed to make it to 20 league goals. His star for Portugal was rising though as his international record was beginning to show.

His slump continued through the 41/42 season as his league goal tally slipped to just 16. Had he already peaked?

Of course he hadn't, the next season saw a triumphant return to form as he scored 28 in 27 league games and 33 in total. My procedure of playing youth in the cups probably stopped him scoring more, but it's also perhaps kept him fresh for so long.

Amazingly, after all his achievements, in the 43/44 season he was only just turning 30. He was again back at his best scoring 26 in the league and a total of 30 again. He was racking up the competition wins domestically, but in his thirties surely time was running out on getting his hands on a European trophy.

It's at this stage that I stop doing seasonal updates, so screenshots fall by the wayside. But, I'll give a round up of seasons from his history.

44/45 - Another good season as he gets 22 in the league and 25 all told.

As a 32-year-old in the 2045/46 season, the man was still at the top of his game as he motored past 25 goals for the season.

46/47 - 22 in the league and 27 in all competitions showed he had no intention of kicking it in yet.

2047/48, and we have a screenshot. Midway through the season he had seven in eleven in the league and 17 from 20 over all. Not bad for a 33-year-old. This also marks a season where he gets a monkey off his back. He gets his hands on his first European medal. It may only be the Europa League, but it's something. He finished with 30 goals in all competitions.

48/49 - As a 34-year-old he's still scoring goals. Here, in January, his rate has dropped, but he has 7 in 12 and 11 in total. And it's the season where he gets his hands on the big prize. The Champions' League. Never have I been happier for a player. Though a slightly disappointing total of 16 goals in all competitions signalled that he was on his way down as a player.

And that brings us to the present, where, as a 35-year-old (almost 36) he makes his 500th league appearance and three games later scores his 400th league goal. So far this season he has 14 league goals in 17 league appearances. Amazingly he appears to be on the way up again!

Finally, here is his career history so far. Part 1 | Part 2 (with totals)

Done in true Cardoso style, not content with reaching the 400 mark, he pushes past it. What's that I hear, he's not retiring until 500!?

edit: how long have u been playing that save prdh, since nov? you've put some years on the clock being 2050!?

when are you starting your new save, beta date or release date?

Anyone any ideas on where they are going?

I'm not doing France again, fancy Germany/Italy/Portugal, haven't decided.

Yup, since November. Started it the day the game was released and it's the only save (apart from my brief sojourn in Scandinavia) that I've played.

I might treat the beta as the demo, when I normally play as Norwich (my actual team), but it depends how the thread kicks off, and whether Cardoso has retired - I think 500 might be pushing it though!

(Speaking of which, I'm not sure I can claim best ever player. There've been some great players around. Not sure I can even claim best youth player as Javier, who I think was rancer890's player, was pretty stunning.)

I think I'm going to Germany for the challenge next year. I've loved Portugal, but I'm steadily making my way through the countries. I've completed in Italy with Domegliara, France with SO Romorantin, Spain with Pajara Playas and now Portugal so it seems the next logical step.

that is fantastic mate!

As pleased as I am for my youth prospect, I think this is a sign of how the standard has fallen in my game. My youth academy graduate - Smail Ghezzal, won best young player at the World Cup. He's no world beater, surely a bigger nation has a player better than this.

Picked up this young albanian CB for £4.9m, I think he looks a superstar in the making what do you think?

Sold long serving hero Bart van der Weg for Valencia for £20m, so this man is this replacement.

A goal for Pedro Cardoso and he is now the first man over 36 to score for Lusitânia Açores. Next aim, get him to be my assistant manager! In the hope that when I retire and let the AI take over to see how they get on, they'll replace me with him.

He does. They're not very good at the moment, hopefully they'll improve. He is now player/assistant manager though. He joins fellow former players and youth academy graduates Tiago Costa, Alvaro Pinto and Rui Lopes on the staff.

And now Miguel Teixeira has joined them too.

The 2049/50 season is over. Pedro Cardoso scored in the last game of the season. I am about to resign and let the AI take over for a bit. I'll be interested to se what they do.

Is zorleur home grown toonbalmy? He looks a good prospect.

So is that you finished in the azores prdh?

Do u ever think you'll see success like this again at another club. Will you be taking your famed principles on youth development to fm 13? Hahaha

Probably just about, I'll let it holiday in the background while I'm doing other stuff to see what happens. Might go back to the proper game if I get bored before the new release, see how much Cardoso has left in his legs.

Success-wise I think I can match this, in terms of youth development, well, we'll see how it goes. This challenge is hard enough for me normally, without extra difficulties. I might try to do a similar thing, but it depends on the players and the club. This year has been pretty special.

I'm definitely goin to struggle to give this save up. The beta will be out a week on Friday if I'm not wrong. No doubt i'll be curious, but if they have same press conference set up I will cry, sick looking at the same answers 2 games in a row!

Just found the proper screenshot of Cardoso when he emerged from the youth academy. I can't help but notice one key difference between then and his later life...

Can anyone spot it?

LOL. On FM10, I had a player who started his career black but by the end of it was white! I've also had a surprisingly high number of bald 16 year-old youth players over the years. :)
