pnefc22
Welcome to this sign-up! This opening update took a long time to write so, please read it all and not just your section. Thanks and enjoy! Update 1 – Who will you be managing? Alan: Earlier today, 17 regular blokes from across the globe were handed managerial jobs at different clubs in different parts of the world. Each manager has one thing that they are individually exceptional at. Some of these talents have been handed down to the managers by their parents; others have been slowly learned throughout their younger years. You may wonder why 17 people have been given these prestigious jobs, and it is all part of the scheme adeptly named, ‘So, you think that you could do a better job?’ The scheme is led by managers from across the globe who are fed up of fans saying how they could do a better job and so, these managers have decided to give the fans a shot at handling the big names such as Asif Saheer, who is a player at Jan van der Jan’s club, The State Bank of Travancore (SBT). As you can already see, the selections of clubs that these so-called managers will be leading to glory are not all household names. The clubs vary from an Indian Bank to even a Premier Division club. So, now over to Kate to give us a quick overview of the draw: Kate: Thanks, Alan. As you know, there was a live draw earlier today which determined the destination of this new breed of super-managers. In an amazing draw, the 17 managers were spread across 3 continents, with a whooping 7 of these managers going off to manage in Asia. Nine managers will be tackling the European superpowers and a sole ranger will be traipsing his way through the African desert, Now, on to the managers and of course, their destinations. Wobill Luman Wobill Luman is the leader of the super-managers and has already said that he plans to lead the pack by example and show them how to dominate the trophies from around the world. Luman was given number 7 in the nation draw which meant that he would be managing in Hong Kong. His next ball led him to move to **** Kok, where he would be managing Fukien. So Tsin Sui has promised Luman the key to **** Kok if he can keep these relegation battlers up. This semi-professional team plays it’s home matches in green. Fukien – The Background Info ‘Doomed to relegation’ the press say but can entrepreneurial Luman keep Fukien up? Stadium: **** Kok Stadium is an 8500 all-seated stadium Facilities: Adequate facilities My predicted finish: 7th Star Player: Pierre Oliver-Bakalag – The Samuel Eto’o of Hong Kong Youngster to watch: Chan Kin On – Ryan Giggs of the future Andrew Jackson Jackson was also handed number 7 in the draw which put him with fellow manager Luman in Hong Kong. Rizhiquan 2 is who he will be managing in Hong Kong’s top division. This Trinidad and Tobagan manager is an adaptable, determined manager but will his squad also be? Rizhiquan 2 – The Background Info ‘Mid-table mediocrity’ – Can Jackson lead them to the ultimate prize – The ACL? Stadium: Yuexiushan stadium holds a massive 30,000 supporters. Facilities: Adequate facilities My predicted finish: 8th – Can’t see their squad staying in the division Star Player: Chen Qian – Like a hot knife through butter Youngster to watch: He Yehui – Out on loan for a season but will he break through on his return? Liam Ferguson Fergy as he likes to be called will be managing in the glorious sunshine and short, fast flowing football of the Scottish first division. He has been entrusted to lead St. Johnstone into the big league where they would be facing the Old firm. But, first he has to get them there and with this promotion contending squad, he should be more than capable. St. Johnstone – The Background Info Can the inexperienced Fergy lead St. Johnstone into the Premier League? Stadium: 10673 all-seater Facilities: Good facilities My predicted finish: 1st Star Player: Pierre Allan McGregor – A class apart from every other player in the league Youngster to watch: Ryan Stevenson – Potential international player Magnus Vestergaard Will Vestergaard be able to make his players produce the football that will entice over seventy thousand fans to come watch this talented Beijing team? I think so as this 24 year old Swede knows his football like no other, with supreme tactical knowledge and many other good stats. Beijing - The Background Info ‘Good squad but no world-beaters’ Stadium: The Worker’ Stadium boosts an impressive 71112 seats Facilities: Good facilities My predicted finish: 5th Star Player: Yang Pu – 32 caps for China says it all for this 26 year old Youngster to watch: Ni Lian – Good finishing but no pace Tom Smith Tom Smith will be joining Fergy in the Scottish First Division but it is unlikely that they will be competing for the title with Smith being handed a much less talented squad and will more likely be scrapping at the other end of the league’s spectrum. I expect huge rivalry between these two managers especially with the head-to-head clashes which has already been booked by Sky for live coverage. Queen of the South- The Background Info ‘Mid-table mediocrity will be hard to attain with this average squad’ Stadium: 6412 capacity but can only seat 3509 Facilities: Adequate facilities My predicted finish: 7th Star Player: Chris Armstrong – The ex-leeds striker should knock in a good 20 goals Youngster to watch: Chris Scott – Ex-Sunderland centre-half is strong in the tackle Jan van der Jan How will this Dutchman survive in charge of the bank? Hopefully, he is given some cash to play with as he manages the State Bank of Travancore in India’s top league. They are predicted to struggle but can Jan provide some much needed motivation for these hapless Indian footballers. SBT - The Background Info ‘A fish out of water’ Stadium: Holds a tiny 1725 avid fans Facilities: Adequate facilities My predicted finish: 10th Star Player: V.P Shaji – Knows how to finish and converts three-quarters of his chances Youngster to watch: N.P Pradeep – Fast striker Josy Joseph Josy Joseph was not handed the best team in the world. Enrolled with the difficult task of managing Cittadella in Seria C1/B. Some smart work in the transfer market will be needed if they are to stay in this division. Cittadella - The Background Info ‘They’re just not going to stay in this league’ Stadium: 4000 seats Facilities: Good facilities My predicted finish: 15th Star Player: Enrico Maria Amore – Set-piece specialist who knows how to cross Youngster to watch: Lorenzo Crocetti – Has an excellent first touch Jamie Mitchell Mitchell is one of the few managers who will be managing in their native countries, having been given the job of manager at championship Stoke. Mitchell can already speak the language so, is already a step ahead of most of the managers. Stoke - The Background Info ‘Good squad and should be pushing for a playoff place’ Stadium: The Brittania Stadium boosts a tidy 28212 people and has under-soil heating Facilities: Good facilities My predicted finish: 5th Star Player: John Eustace – Too good for this league Youngster to watch: John Halls – He may be 22 but has the potential to play in the Prem. Lucas Volman Another person who was handed a job in their native country was Lucas Volman. Potentially, one of the most talented managers in this group has been given one of the best jobs out of all the clubs. Handed the reins at Seria A contenders Lecce, Volman will be hoping to qualify for Europe in his first season at the club. I think that this is an easily feasible task with quality players such as Bojinov and Ledesma at the club. Lecce - The Background Info ‘Under Volman, they will win the Seria A’ Stadium: The Via del Mare stadia holds 41000 people and can seat 38970 Facilities: Adequate facilities My predicted finish: 6th Star Player: Christian Ledesma – Brilliant player who they need to keep hold of Youngster to watch: Valeri Bojinov – This two-footed wonderkid striker has the world in front of him Zac Smith Zac Smith has been unveiled as the new manager of Vitesse, a club steeped in history but who need a leader who knows how to handle the finances, as the club is on the brink of administration. The best players will have to be sold to keep the club afloat. Vitesse - The Background Info ‘On the brink of existance’ Stadium: The Gelredome holds 29000 with undersoil heating and a retractable roof Facilities: Good facilities My predicted finish: 14th Star Player: Richard Knopper – Tireless midfielder who could demand a fee of £4 million plus if sold Youngster to watch: Michael Jansen – Will feature heavily if the club have to sell their star players Fred Brookes Handed La LIga’s Osasuna. He has a very talented attacking team but the defence looks shaky. Should be aiming for the Uefa Cup. Osasuna - The Background Info ‘Players like Milosivic and Aloisi will knock the goals in but can they stop the goals?’ Stadium: 19800 capacity with under-soil heating Facilities: Adequate facilities My predicted finish: 8th Star Player: Sava Milosivic is a star player who will score 25 goals minimum this season Youngster to watch: Carlos Cuellar is the only defender in this place that actually knows how to defend Alex Barkley Barkley has got a seriously hard job on his hands in the English Premiership as manager of Championship winners Norwich. They will get relegated if not for a miracle. Can Barkley be that miracle? Norwich - Background Info ‘Not a chance of surviving that brutal league’ Stadium: Carrow Road holds 24349 and has under-soil heating Facilities: Adequate facilities My predicted finish: 17th Star Player: Robert Green – Premiership quality keeper Youngster to watch: David Bentley – On loan from Arsenal but still he has potential as long as he concentrates on football and not on haircuts and pretending to be DB. Shane Mullins The third manager that is managing in Hong Kong is Shane Mullins. He drew Happy Valley for whom he will be managing. Will his time there be happy? Only time will tell, but without investment in the training and youth facilities, I would say no. Happy Valley - Background Info ‘Serious investment needed’ Stadium: Also use the 8500 seated **** Kok Stadium Facilities: Need major investment My predicted finish: 4th Star Player: Cheung Sai Ho – 47 caps for Hong Kong with 8 goals Youngster to watch: Ho Min Tong – Can cross a ball Jake Nash Nash will be moving with singer, Kate Nash, to India to manage Fransa where he will be competing with the other manager in India, Jan van der Jan for bragging rights. Fransa are relegation battlers and will struggle to stay up. But if this guy can catch Kate Nash at the age of 47 then, this job will be a walk in the park. Fransa - Background Info ‘Could struggle’ Stadium: 35000 all seated Facilities: Adequate facilities My predicted finish: 11th Star Player: Ivan Fiel da Silva – A Brazilian striker who may be able to bring the samba to Fransa. Youngster to watch: Sutang Marlinki – The second highest valued player at Fransa and has two caps for India U21 at the age of 18. Saul Goode It’s all good was handed the job at Brentford where it remains a mystery whether it will all be good at the end of the season. Brentford - Background Info ‘Although tipped for relegation, they could reach mid-table’ Stadium: 12673 capacity (10547 seated) Facilities: Adequate facilities My predicted finish: 14th Star Player: Peter Sweeney – A great loan signing for Brentford Youngster to watch: Jay Tabb – Him and Sweeney will provide plenty of fire-power Damien Waymouth Waymouth drew up another Asian country. He will be moving to Malaysia to compete in the Super League in charge of Penang. With a secure bank balance, and a 40,000 ground with good facilities, Waymouth may be the surprise package in Malaysia. Penang - Background Info ‘Could be a surprise package but probably won’t be’ Stadium: 40,000 all seated stadium in Batu Kawan Facilities: Good facilities My predicted finish: 8th Star Player: Jose Ramirez Barreto – This 12k rated Brazilian striker knows where the back of the net is Youngster to watch: Mat Saiful Mohamad – This young left-back has a good delivery on him Olaf Olafsson This cleverly named Norwegian will be managing in the sun at Sundowns in South Africa. This well-known south African team has a rich heritage that will be expected to continue. Sundowns - Background Info ‘Can Olaf live up to the pressure?’ Stadium: 20,000 all seated Facilities: Good facilities My predicted finish: 3rd Star Player: Neil Winstanly – Quality right-back whose prowess in the air is second to none Youngster to watch: Vuyo Mare – A right-back who at 20 years of age has some exceptional ability with a 20 for marking, 16 for tackling and a 19 for work rate.
