Hoarau
For years we trawled the southern equator for the 'next big thing', be it the days of tapping up Aimar & Saviola or Tevez & Mascherano.. What about the time you told your mates about this Brazilian lad you found at Santos with the silly haircut? Or maybe you even jumped on the forums to spread the word of this amazing playmaker you found at Boca Juniors.. The legend of Juan Riquelme was born. Such is the vast quality in South America, albeit mostly Brazil & Argentina, I thought a central bank, a hub if you will for all superstars, skill wizards, unknowns and hidden gems from all the nations that make up South America. I'm espically interested if anyone has found any players of note from the likes of Colombia, Uruguay, Chile etc.. Now not all of us manage in the Premier League so work permits a lot of the times aren't an issue, so keep that in mind. I figured I'd post an opening collection of players, a few nearly all will know of but it's just to start it off and incase there is a poor soul out there who hasn't discovered the Balanta's or Romero's those ones are being posted for them. I have I think came across a few players, that certainly I wasn't familiar with and Ihope that there are lots more from you fine folk. samdiatmh
I don't think Tagliafico's picture is quite right? fidelitywars
This is more like it! My teams are usually littered with cheap, technical imports from South America and Eastern Europe. Someone not mentioned who's well worth a look is Nacional's Gaston Pereiro; looks a classy young playmaker. Gonzalo Martinez, playing for Huracan in Argentina's 2nd tier looks a good young left winger and Joaquin Arzura of Tigre is a decent (if slightly less talented) alternative to GG Romero/Kranevitter. Sorry - can't provide any screenshots atm as i'm (sadly) at work...

samdiatmh
Teofilo Gutierrez (River?) is a solid all-round prem striker complained about a lack of something initially (ambition or regular games), so got him on the cheap edit: but he did go on a scoreless run for me and got "worst prem signing of the season", so yeah.... maybe not
michalgottwald
Would love to hear from someone who are doing the whole thorough scouting of South America thing if there are more young, cheap players with high potential like Piris to be found. A lot of the players mentioned here are, even though reasonable relative to their quality, not an option for a lot of teams.
Hoarau
^ Sorry if these aren't good enough for you bud, im having success with a lot of those suggested by myself and others in my different saves. michalgottwald
Oh they're good enough, just often too expensive for a smallish team from the start. As mentioned, Robert Piris has had several good seasons for me by now. The last one you've found here: Wow! Will be tested for sure.
fidelitywars
If you're after bargain bin South Americans, i've downloaded a Paraguayan league add-on from the Steam workshop so can heartily recommend a few who've been tearing up trees for my Cerro Porteno side: Ruidiaz's Universitario teammates Christofer Gonzales and Edison Flores are quality budget options - paid £300k for Gonzales and he's a real classy, old-fashioned South American no.10; his performances are attracting interest from the likes of Ajax and both Milan clubs currently for me. Flores has just joined following an abortive spell with Villarreal's B team so isn't quite so easily snared at the start of the game but is open to moves from January 2015 onwards. Elsewhere in Peru, Christian Ramos has been a good buy at centre-back for a few years now whilst Paulo Albarracín is quality holding midfielder for the price. Left-back Yoshimar Yotún is a handy attacking left-back and clubmate Irven Ávila is a short, stocky striker who should be able to score goals anywhere in South America or in any of Europe's mid-ranking leagues. In Ecuador, Fernando Gaibor and especially, Junior Sornoza are well worth a look, whereas attacking midfielders Nicolás Albarracín and Gastón Rodríguez along with left back Maximiliano Olivera are all good, affordable options from Uruguay's Montevideo Wanderers. In Paraguay, frustratingly, there are fewer options but Silvio Torales of Nacional (PAR) has been excellent setting my midfield tempo and the performances of young centre-back Danilo Ortiz have justified the high esteem he's held in by my coaching staff. Must confess, though...the major reason I was interested in a Paraguay save was my decision to add 15 year-old sensation Sergio Díaz to the database. He's essentially South America's answer to Martin Odegaard - think i'm right in saying he's bagged 8 goals from 19 appearances IRL and has been hailed as the 'Paraguayan Aguero...' Apologies for the lack of screenshots (sadly, i'll not have access to my laptop for the next few days) but hopefully whilst not world-beaters, at least 1 or 2 of these suggestions will be helpful to someone. Abaddon879
You're missing the little wonderkid Kenedy from Fluminense. He makes a great False Nine. I managed to get him on a 12-month loan first season for free (no wages) and he was immense, coming second in the Championship top scorers with 26. Only problem is, his value is often quite high. They want around £14M for me to make the move permanent. He is fantastic if you want a free loan deal though.
