JBC#1
In the lead up to the game Miles said there would be a feature called Steam workshop because of the games partnership with Steam that would allow users to share logos, etc... Is it enabled yet or will it only be enabled upon full release?

Jobnik
Sorry for bumping this up, but now with the full version out, when I access the "Downloads" in game, and tried to access Steam Workshop, the game becomes un-responsive. Any suggestions?
Frogmore Frog
You have custom graphics in your FM directory in "My Documents"? There seems to be an issue with this which won't allow the Workshop to load when trying to read custom graphics. It's been suggested over at the skinning forum that for now you rename the folder "graphics" to something else, this will then allow workshop to load, as it will not read graphics folder when renamed. stephankjeldspence
You can acces the workshop directly from steam when you are on your FM14 game tab.
stevemc
Does this mean that you have to download logos, facepacks etc from Steam now? And not re-use FM13's graphics?
Welshace
No... If you just rename the graphics folder to say... graphicsbackup then download your skins etc from the in game workshop menu then you can rename graphicsbackup back to graphics and carry on. Basically, the new steamworkshop model will try and resort all of your graphics into it's own folders for compatibility reasons. It isn't the most efficient way for those of us with huge graphics add-ons and is being looked at But for now.. this works
stevemc
Ahh right, so by downloading the skin from the Workshop, that spits out the relevant folders for you in the Documents folder? Then add your own graphics after that event? Is the point of the Workshop that you don't need your own graphics, you just use someone else that's in the Workshop already? I'm a little confused by its point.
Pinchita
Please can someone explain how to upload files to workshop ?? tanks.
michaeltmurrayuk
Load FM, select Downloads on the main menu, on the store page select the workshop tab (wait a while if you have many custom files), then select the In Game Option, and it will give you a list of items you can upload. Pinchita
@ michaeltmurrayuk I get no tab. Not only that but when I click there hangs the cpu and the game stops responding. I have a intel i5 4670k and 16gb ram
michaeltmurrayuk
The workshop will take a while to load as it scans your user made/added graphics first. You need to either wait or rename youe graphics folder.
Pinchita
Yes work, but the time upload for logos pack is bad. ...very slow
jonteyayo
I read some other posts. It seems if your graphic folder is huge, FM will crash. Pretty bad.. no fun to play without mega logo packs.
kempy7
Got to your documents folder, delete the steam_workshop folder and then rename your graphics folder 'steam_workshop' without the apostrophes then restart FM 14, the download option will now work straight away.
