DandyDon
Alberto Paloschi - FM goal poacher extrordinaire Right, I have to start this thread with a confession, I actually know very little about Alberto in real life and haven't actually watched much Serie A at all this year, so can't really judge how closely he resembles his FM counterpart. That said Alberto, along with Gylfi Sigurddson has probably been my favourite player so far on this years FM. Having talked plenty about him on the Newcastle thread thought it was about time I gave him his own FM12 thread. He made his professional debut, at the age of 17, for AC Milan in December 2007, scoring in a Coppa Italia match against Catania (he also scored against them in the second leg in January). He then made his Serie A debut in February 2008 against Siena, scoring the only goal of the game with his first touch, 17 seconds after coming on as a substitute for Serginho. With Ronaldinho's arrival at the club later that year, Paloschi suggested that he had even less chance of regular first team action and that he would be willing to consider a move away from Milan on loan. In August, Milan accepted a c-ownership bid from the newly relegated Parma and Paloschi went on to spend the next two and a half seasons there, helping them bounce back from their relegation during his first season. In January 2011, Parma exchanged their share in Paloschi to Genoa, in exchange for Genoa's share of Raffaele Palladino. Paloschi finished that season at Genoa, but returned to AC Milan during the summer. At the start of the current season, with even more competition upfront at Milan he was sent to Chievo on a season long loan. On the game That's how he looks at the start of the game while on loan at Chievo on loan, as you can see he's already got excellent Composure, Work Rate and Pace as well as outstanding Determination and his Finishing is pretty decent. He's valued at £1.6 million, but due to the loan deal you won't be able to sign him in the first season. However the fact that his contract with AC Milan expires at the end of the 1st season means there's an excellent chance you can snap him up for free in the summer. He will get contract offers from other clubs, so get in there in January to offer him a deal. This is how he looks on my current Newcastle save by March after signing on a free in the summer. As you can see he's improved pretty dramatically in terms of his Strength and his already excellent Pace has improved too. His Finishing, Composure and Off the Ball have all improved as well. All of this is without any specialised training schedules, he's just been on the default strikers schedule and has been getting regular 1st Team games. He made similar progress on an earlier save, again mostly just as a result of being played frequently. Given his blistering pace, composure and off the ball he works best played as a Poacher and he's performed well for me in that role played alongside another forward, or played as a lone striker. In his first season so far he has 29 goals in all competitions by the middle of March. He starts with a CA of 127 and PA of 163, in the second pic his CA has reached 152 Considering he can be picked up for free in the second season I think Paloschi would be a great signing for any club in the major European leagues, especially if they have ambitions of challenging for the title or European competition. His wage demands aren't too excessive, he's currently on £26,500 a week for us and that was with me offering him a few thousand over and above his initial demands. There may be more eye catching or outrageously talented strikers out there in the game, but not many who'll be as consistent for potentially such little cost. (Well so early in the game at any rate) Does exactly what it says on the tin....

f0rmat
Had big injury problems for me in the 12.1 patch at least. Hopefully it's not something everyone gets cause he was one of my favourite buys in FM10 and FM11.
DandyDon
Had big injury problems for me in the 12.1 patch at least.Hopefully it's not something everyone gets cause he was one of my favourite buys in FM10 and FM11. He was pretty good for me on my original save, only one serious injury in 5 seasons. Hasn't had any problems yet on 12.2.2, fingers crossed

Stampler
here we can see again how overrated the italian players are in the game. IRL he is nowhere near that quality.
Hunter Pearls
He is constantly injured. Prefer Darwin Quintero - Goal Machine

GR3NDAL
I have got a very good return from Alberto at Liverpool as a poacher. Most of this time he has been playing alongside Suarez. A 30 year old Paloschi: He has scored at least 40 goals a season so far
Big Andy T
this kid is amazing, signed on a free for Southampton and he scored 23 in my first prem season, will always sign him from now on.

DandyDon
Much as I like Paolschi on FM, he doesn't seem to have performed to his supposed potential in real life.... Plus AC Milan weren't exactly short of options upfront I suppose.
