So does that mean that we have 3 months until we decide which new ones will join our youth team in the new season?

In the blog, Miles says this:

They are initially treated as an extra squad, so it’s easy to see who they are and scroll through them using quick flicks. After the youth candidates have played their evaluation match against your current youth team, they will stay on with your youth team as trialists for the following few weeks.

Doesn't sound like 3 months.

Sorry if this was obvious from the demo - I never play it - but whilst these recruits are part of their 'separate squad', before they join up with your youth team proper, are they visible to other managers? In other words if I were managing United, and checked the Barcelona team screen (on the new, earlier regen date), would their new intake be handily marked out for me? If so, or even if not, can you poach these youngsters before they are vetted by their new parent club?

For England the date is 12.03.2012 in the first season, and Scotland it's 07.03.2012, so I guess that makes it 13 days earlier than the above.

Also should say this doesn't apply for the USA, the MLS draft process negates the need for this feature.

Cheers.

I've been holidaying to check and log FM12 newgen generation dates. These are my findings this far for the playable nations:

03.03(Mar) - Mexico

08.03(Mar) - Australia, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, N. Ireland, Russia, Scotland, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, Wales

13.03(Mar) - Austria, England

17.03(Mar) - Slovakia

18.03(Mar) - Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Indonesia, Italy, Poland, Portugal

19.03(Mar) - Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia

25.03(Mar) - Holland

28.03(Mar) - Serbia, Spain

02.04(Apr) - Argentina, India, South Africa

19.04(Apr) - Hong Kong, Uruguay

19.08(Aug) - Sweden

02.09(Sep) - Malaysia

14.09(Sep) - South Korea

19.09(Sep) - Chile

20.09(Sep) - Brazil, Ireland

23.09(Sep) - Iceland

25.09(Sep) - Finland

28.09(Sep) - Colombia, Singapore

08.10(Oct) - China, Norway

16.10(Oct) - Peru

02.11(Nov) - Belarus

Note that all dates for year 2012 are 1 day earlier than normal/listed, e.g. the 12th and 7th for England and Scotland mentioned by Stu. U.S.A. is also missing because I'm not sure how to verify it what with the draft etc.

I'll probably check the non-playable nations as well later on if I figure out a way to do it reliably. Do these actually generate newgens yearly?

According to Miles' blog here, MLS academies do now have youth intakes too though. Can we choose our own intakes for the MLS academy teams?
