Mark Man
As the game is made on a DVD disk this year, I have 2 questions: 1) Will I'll be playing the game in Windows Media Player this year then? :S And 2) In such stores as Woolworths will it be in the PC Game section or the DVD section? Cheers
Bazib
will be in the pc section....and the game will run on either xp or vista, so not sure what you mean by media player??
Mark Man
As it's effectively a DVD, instead of it being full screen when you open the game like FM08, when I open fm09 on my desktop will it open in WMP..?
Bazib
will be full screen, its released on a dvd because its a big file....but its not a movie....will play like any other football manager has in the past
wardog
No. For example Sims 2 was relesed on DVD. The only differance is, SI now have much more space to play with on the disc. Allowing 3D to come, and in the furutre other big features.
Super Bladesman
It won't make any difference. You will just need to put the disk in a DVD drive instead of a CD drive to be able to install it. Apart from which drive you open and place the CD in, it won't make any difference to you whatsoever.

smithers08
Chances are the game will be on DVD , as Miles has said that the game is much bigger than previous releases.

r0x0r
It's hard to not sound patronising here, but I'll try to explain it fully. DVD = Digitally Versatile Disk. What you watch in a DVD Player / Windows Media Player is a DVD Video. Similarly, CD = Compact Disk. However, you didn't put FM08 into your CD Player / Stereo, did you? It didn't play in Winamp? Because CD Audio and a CD are two different things. DVD = A disk identical in appearance to a CD, but with a larger storage capacity. Both can contain video, music or games. Cheers Ha, you really have never used a game dvd have you! It isn't a dvd that you play on the dvd player! It's the type of disc which holds more and should be faster. Most games are PC DVD if you see on the side, that's why games have 1 disc not

copperhorse21
Sooooo... I don't need the three sacks of popcorn I ordered to watch the Football Manager movie? I'm bummed too. I was hoping at the end of the in-game season to get the club highlights all in one location...then I was hoping for the blooper highlights as well. TMLS
The point here is it's "DVD-ROM", not just "DVD" - People just shorten it to "DVD" for ease. It's as different as an Audio CD is to Game CD (aka CD-ROM of course)
