babbster
I've just found a 17 year old German newgen who has the media label "could be the next Kaiser" Now I know you should treat these labels with a big pinch of salt, and everything depends on how he's developed, but could this mean I've unearthed a potential Beckenbauer? His stats look promising for a youngster, and the £8m price tag suggests he might be a future star... What do you think, should I take a punt? http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff446/babbster1/NicoKurbjuweit.png
mr_hankey
From what I understand, players get these labels when they play in the same position, and have a similar potential. Player type and specialties are irrelevant. 'The next Koller' could be a midget.
Johnlc
I think its based on size, nationality and position.
GioGio85
Yeah often young players being heralded as being similar to established stars are not actually similar at all. They often play in the same position but thats where the similarities tend to end. I think what this does mean is that the youngster is a talented one! Anyway, I usually rely more on the wonderkid description then the "can be the next whoever"...
dafuge
As has been mentioned, I wouldn't assume that this description means he will actually be as good as Beckenbauer. I'd get a few scout reports on him and see what they say about his potential before bidding for him.
babbster
Cheers for the replies, chaps. I'll scout him for a bit before I decide...
aderow
Cheers for the replies, chaps. I'll scout him for a bit before I decide... Try and offer him a trial. If you get him on a trial, see how he does compared to your better youngsters.
Bosson
It means he's related to a certain Wilhelm who was quite famous 90-odd years back...
SCIAG
It means he's related to a certain Wilhelm who was quite famous 90-odd years back... Oh dear. I predict a riot. As above, it is based on height, nationality and positions. The next Koller couldn't be a midget but he could just be tall and Czech.

babbster
. It means he's related to a certain Wilhelm who was quite famous 90-odd years back... I'd better not sign him then. That funny helmet would play havoc with his heading ability... http://sydwalker.info/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/kaiser_wilhelm_ii.jpg
rancer890
Try and offer him a trial. If you get him on a trial, see how he does compared to your better youngsters. I don't think Schalke will let him go on a trial tbh. If your scouts say he's worth it, then go and sign him.
Jumpaz4postz
I'd better not sign him then. That funny helmet would play havoc with his heading ability... Lol, around the time, there could have been a "hot prospect" Austrian who lined up in a defensive wall and was on the recieving end of a firmly struck free kick which connected in a very painful place, thus detaching a gonad. Apparently, it was found in the Albert Hall....

Oh aye, he ended in management, dominated in Europe, but found the squad stretched over too many different fronts and bottled it in the end, in the process making himself look a bit of a madman. Or was that Rafa Benitez?
Krald
I saw someone actually called Kaiser as a surname and said "could be the next Kaiser" it seemed amusing. Am I the only one though who sees that and thinks like Kaiser as in emperor or caesar or the likes .

I wish the game said "Franz Beckenbauer" instead of "Kaiser". I mean, for English creative midfielders, it says "Paul Gascoigne", not "Gazza". RSCA4Ever
Kaiser Soze? I was thinking the exact same thing. Who is Keyser Söze? A character from the movie "The usual suspects". Cannot say who he is because it would be a spoiler. It's a great movie btw.
dafuge
Beckenbauer is in the game (director at Bayern Munich). Strange. I wonder why his name is different in the two places then?
Badass_
I just found this guy who's touted as the next Michel Platini and yet, my scout who has jpa20 and jpp20 gives me a recommendation of 1 star and a half !?!? Just goes to show you how you cannot trust this descriptions. The only one I trust is wonderkid. I'm wondering if I should buy him or not. I don't think I'm gonna be able to develop him that much...I think he's gonna become two and a half stars at best and that's not good enough for my team .and to do that, I'd probably have to play him, starting right now... I think he looks good. If you have the cash maybe make a cheeky bid. In an ideal world id like him to have higher composure, but he is still young and could become a classy midfielder! He's 20 now and evolved almost nothing. Ca - one star Pa - one star and a half. Will sell him. He's not even decent which is kinda weird given his stats. Badass_
How much did you get him for? Had to pay quite a bit actually. 16mil. But again, I did for the challenge. I just don't get why someone with so very little potential would have such a description.
GioGio85
Have you got him on any specialist training? Maybe put him on his own routine to improve his weaker areas? He looks like he should become good so I wouldnt giv up just yet - how old is he anyways?
