Biggest games played range!

I am managing Hull in EPL and i just saw something very strange...

The majority of the teams have played 18 or 20 games, some teams have played 19 games and Chelsea has played only 15 games !!!

Now i need to ask british people. Is this possible in real life? In Greece for example we ALWAYS have the same games. At most 1 game difference in rare occasions. and i know that it has to do with extra games they may have to compete in. But is a 5 games difference logical there in real life? thanks

Seen it happen (in the game) might be some really busy schedule, league cup, fa cup, champions league, international games, postponed games.

Ive seen 3 or maybe 4 games diference between the most played and lowest played, but ive never seen 5 15-20, but 3 is normal because of cups, and europe these days.Hope it helps.

It was just expanded to 6 games!

it could happen............a team could take part in european super cup early in season;)

take part in fifa world club

have a cancelled game as well

.........but would be unusual to be so far behindl

One of the Conference teams (I think it was Barrow due to cup runs and weather postponements) had seven games in hand over a couple of teams this season.

My local team, St. Neots, are 2nd but 1st place has 4 games in hand. If you look at St. Ives town, in 10th, and Stewart and Lloyds Corby, 13th, there is a 6 game difference!

IIRC when I made the Euro Cup whilst I was playing in the Championship, I ended up being 8 games behind some of the other teams in the league because of matches being moved due to clashing.

yes of course. My initial question wasn't "Why does this happen" but "how can it be allowed instead of fixed" !
