vhahwvxequ
Is it possible to a player, to receive a yellow card for excessive timewasting?
Wee Aja
Never seen it. Surely would only happen with a GK anyway... thinking about it, I think I've seen that (the GK being carded) Not sure now.
Bababui
Is it possible to a player, to receive a yellow card for excessive timewasting? As long as the ball is in play, what rule is being broken for eating the clock?
bardock
There was a thread about GK being yellow carded for time wasting. Some people claim to have seen it, but I've never seen it myself.
uusinjsh
I've seen players getting booked for time wasting before taking throw from sideline - simply holding the ball above head.
fmobande
Goalkeeper if a goal keeper takes a LONG time taking a goal kick he will get warned if he does it again he will get carded really it depends if the ref thinks the goal keeper should or how many minutes the ref lets him time waste from a goal kick or how many warnings he get you guys havent seen it becusae what kind of goal keeper dosent know that rule. Team its ok for a team to time waste if they have the ball and play it round but not on set pieces liek corners ,free kicks, throw ins they have a time limit if they take to long they might get a warn then if they do it again they get carded but some refs will card you 1st time. morsy
I'm pretty sure Johnny Heitinga got a yellow card in an international game for wasting too much time at taking a free kick.
Kemmel
I've never actually employed it. I always set my tactics to "attack" but keep GK and DC back with usually good results.
torsportsfan
I get yellow cards all the time for time wasting

hilly_boro
One of my games went on until the 102nd minute and not one card appeared in whole game, no major injuries etc Time after time it kept saying the opposition team 'were in no hurry' but cardless it remained ! phnompenhandy
Never seen it, just like I've hardly ever seen a goalkeeper get a yellow or red card. Ought to be tweaked up in FM10.
jayahr
Happens far too rarely.
Hanson
I don't even have a decent backup GK because of this, waste of money
Dalholt
My GK try to take the ball outside the gkbox, and he got a yellow card The one and only time I have seen this
RSCA4Ever
Nowadays time wasting isn't nearly as bad as it was when the GK was still allowed to pick up the ball on a back pass from his teammate. The yellow card for time wasting isn't really necessary imo, they should simply add the time that's wasted on the end. Somehow by giving that yellow card they waste even more time, so it's basically a win win situation if the player in question hasn't been booked before. FIFA should really reconsider this rule imo. Brian Shanahan
Well if they added the amount of time when the ball is actually out of play in a match, which is what the rules actually say, you would be looking at over 20mins time added on for a whole match.
