Gypsum Posted March 16, 2009 Share Posted March 16, 2009 Some of you may remember my 'Conference wonderkids' sign-up on FM08 which was very popular and successful until my personal circumstances changed and I couldn't update it anymore. So I thought i'd try another sign up along similar lines, and here it is. Introducing... Gypsum's Welsh wonderkids Sign-up The story;Billionaire tycoon Gypsum Fantastic had it all, expensive cars, big houses and a lifestyle that many could only dream of. But he was missing the one thing that seems to set apart businessmen today, a football club. Being a rather unorthadox man, Gypsum turned down sales pitches from English Premiership and Championship clubs desperate for his millions and instead followed his heart and purchased his home town club of Llanelli in the Welsh Premier League. While his move shocked many in the footballing world, Gypsum was sure of his goals. While he would develop Llanelli as much as he could within the Welsh league, he made no secret of the fact that his sole desire was to make quality players for the Welsh national team. He established the Welsh academy of excellence with its state of the art facilities and offered youngsters from around the world the opportunity to try-out for his new Llanelli side, assuring them they would be allowed to leave for bigger clubs on one condition... they declared themselves to play for Wales. Some years later, the first graduates of the Welsh football academy have moved in to the Llanelli squad. The first 15 players have come through at an oppertune time, as they will have their first taste of Champions league football and be playing in front of the newly refurbished 15,000 seater Stebonheath park. With a huge amount of interest in their development how will the young players fare, how long will it take for their talent to be spotted by bigger clubs and how long until the Welsh national team recognises their talents? We will soon find out... 15 players will be added to Llanelli FC in the Welsh Premier league and will be free to leave at the discretion of created chairman, Gypsum Fantastic.I will holiday through the game and leave FM09 to take its course. I will update the game every year giving as much of an insight in to your players progress as possible. The idea of this sign-up is to give you the freedom of a limitless career, while also bringing everyone together for international duty. So the Welsh national progress and particularly international tournaments will be followed closely. CA for everyone will be set to 120, while PA will be -10. So here is how to sign up, the rules/criteria are as follows; Please give your players realistic names. Date of birth can be whatever you choose. Either first or second nationality MUST be Welsh and your player will be declared for Wales. But the other nationality can be whatever you choose. But once it gets going the updates will come thick and fast, often multiple updates a day. I'm a quick writer, it's just the screenshots that will slow me down! Just a couple of issues that have come to light; - I have to choose Wales as first nationality to declare a player for them. So I have swapped first/second nationalities where needed. Those who don't have Welsh for either nationality, Welsh is now your first and your previous first nationality is now second. - Bambi Holt, you only have 2 of your 3 mental stats of 18. - Dan Wales Man, you have decisions down twice for your mental stats - For those that have chosen 'Winds up opposition', or 'Gets crowd going' as a preferred move... unfortunately this isn't selectable in the editor as far as I can see. I'm going to update the database with any changes at half time in the West Ham match, so you have 45 minutes to let me know any changes you want to make. If I don't hear anything, then I will replace or include the next best/closest stat. Other than that, it's all looking great. Dan, i've set your 15 Mental stat as determination. So that's that all done. Now i'll load up the game, double check everything and take some screenshots for you all.
