Hi all!

I'm playing football manager for a years, but from years to years, I was expect better features in 2015-2016-2017....etc!

And I'm little disappointed that the game is not moved from scale 5 to 10.

So, I wanna suggest some of new features that developers reconsider and add in future.

Here we are:

  • Every manager have real life same like every player, so (add in the game something like real life, how manager live, what car drive, which house/hotel/penthouse have, which clothes he use, it he is married, how many kids have, is he divorced, where he traveling on vacations...etc). This is something what was have Fifa Manager, and similar thing will be amazing to have Football Manager too!
  • Give the managers more freedom, add them options to build and design stadiums, choose the price of tickets on stadiums, choose the sponsors and negotiate with sponsors, build and design other infrastructures for the club like trophy museum, parking places, restaurants, training center, youth academy...etc!
  • Split conversation between boards (every manager in real life can speak with president and diractors, here a mean if manager wanna talk with president directly he can talk with him without directors, currently that is not possible). If you wanna talk, you can only talk with board where board represent director, and u are not able to speak with president, but always media asking you "are your ambitions matching with charmains ambitions" and that doesnt make any sense. How you can confirmed to media that your ambitions matching with charmains if you cannot speak with him directly!?
  • Add more club staff (Community Officer the man whos in contact with Fans); (Marketing manager guy who is represent for searching new sponsors, negotiate with them and choosing prices for tickets); (Medical Staff like Ankle specialist, Knee specialist, Muscle specialist, Bone specialist, Physiologist - Motivator); (Stadium manager is the guy whos charge for building stadium and infrastructure); (Media manager if manager doesnt wanna handle with media he can hire Media manager to represent him and he can give him instructions how to deal with media, how to represent club and his ambitions that can have affect on club and managers reputation, if Media manager have negative score with media that can affect club or manager also can be affected on himself too)!
  • Add opening merchandise shops around the world, similar have Fifa manager and is amazing frome where u can earn alot money for the club)!
  • Add opening football academies around the world, alot of us want to bring in our clubs talented kids to develop in our clubs, same thing i was saw in Fifa manager but same thing also have clubs in real life.
  • Add option for pre-season and mid-Season training camps where we can choose countries and cities to send them there, how players train in camps can have positive or negative effects on starting or continuing of season.
  • Dont forget also that players in real life advertise companies to make the money for themselfs if they become stars, they represent clubs through marketing, reputation of clubs growin or droping.
  • Players can make friendships with other players from same clubs or nations, if they are friends or if they are train in same club from younger ages and come together in same club or later each other they can increases loyalty to the club. Also if manager sell his friend other player can be unhappy and decreases his loyalty to the manager and the club then he can ask to leave the club. If we have two players in one club who dislike each others one of them can decreased loyalty to the manager and the club, so to resolve problem manager can sell both or only one of them, and one who stays in the club will be more happy to work with manager and can increases loyalty to stays in the club and never to leave.
  • Add companies for agents who represent players, unless they work and do business individually!

Football Manager doesnt have nothing of this, but can be really big big improvement for the game!

Have a great day all!

Pretty much this. The game is called Football Manager, not The Sims or Stadium Architect.

The OP refers a lot to FIFA Manager, which was crammed with so many 'fluff' features that it was a case of "all style, no substance". FM is a "less style, more substance" kind of game.

As far as I know managers and real-life players have families, they live in their homes, if suspended watch their matches from the stands.

Medical staff treats players in club private clinics.
Scouts in charge of bringing young and talented footballers are tracked by players from academia in other countries of the world.

To make the game look real and to have the feeling that you are really in the role of a football manager, you must have the feeling that you are really in the role of a real manager rather than in the role of virtual reality.

Then developers should change the name of the game from Football Manager to the Virtual Football Manager.

If we want to have a real feeling in the game then we have to introduce a real feeling from the real life of the manager and the players.

Where are the managers living such as: Mourinho, Guardiola, Venger ... etc !?

I have the feeling that, in your opinion, managers live within the club, in the club rooms with the management and the president, and that they all live together in the club with the players. They probably sleep together, go to the bathroom together, watch TV together, visit the cinema, eat together, drive together in the same car ... etc.

That is not what he is saying. His point (and, by extension, my point) is that off-field stuff is not needed in a game that is purely about football management.

From a gameplay perspective, having FM say that your manager - for example - lives in a mansion in Cheshire with a wife/husband and a cat named Molly adds absolutely nothing. It doesn't affect your career or your team in any way, shape or form.

Besides, any of that off-field stuff can be left entirely to your imagination, if you wish.

So in order to build a stadium for you to have 300 million Euros in the club's budget, and the club's management decides instead of building new stadiums with a capacity of some 50k seats, they decide to expand the current stadium with a capacity of 5k seats, with an extension of additional 10k places.

Regardless of the fact that you have a huge budget, you will never have the opportunity for the club management to grant you the construction of a new stadium with huge capacity, will always strive to expand the existing stadium.

I'm telling you this because I've played many versions of the football manager and in none of these versions, never a club management allowed me to build a new stadium with a high capacity no matter how rich the club was with money, it never will.

If you want the management of a club building a stadium then I have no words. :applause:

There are very, very few football managers - if any - who have control over the construction of their club's stadium. Mauricio Pochettino never told the Spurs board, "I'm knocking White Hart Lane down and building an almost exact replica of the Emirates on the site." :p

That's the point I'm making.

Well we can live in isolation.

lives in a mansion in Cheshire with a wife/husband and a cat named Molly adds absolutely nothing. (It gives to media to write something about me, my life, my players and making football manager more interesting to play)! :onmehead:

If your idea of making Football Manager "more interesting" to play is making it more like FIFA Manager 14 or The Sims... then I really don't know what to say.

Do you also want an option in-game to choose what toothpaste your manager uses?

Nah, I want option in-game "assistant manager" then u can choose instead to be "manager of club" you can be "assistant manager" then u follow other managers how they play and what they doing. Cuz first you need alot exp to get before u takeover some of clubs.

That's how going your conversation, if you are angry or you dont agreed with me just say "Nah, I don't agreed with you I don't want that" and that will be good, not to arguing with me what is good what isnt!

We are have diff opinions, you and me are diff like a fingers on hands! :idiot:

Yeah I'm a little confused as to what you're asking for, do you want the media asking questions about your wife in press conferences because that doesn't happen in reality.

Hahahaha.......watch what is the reall life and what is the realism in managers career!

I'm not angry: I just find your suggestions ridiculous! You are asking for features that have been requested and rejected so many times that there is a stickied thread in this forum saying they won't ever be implemented!

We've decided that in order to encourage users to discuss their ideas and allow others to feedback, to create a forum dedicated to feature requests for FM. If you've raised something in the wishlist thread it will have already been checked, but it doesn't hurt to raise it here as well. Ideally if you have related ideas keep them to their own thread, otherwise please start a new thread for each idea. Also worth doing a search of the 'Reviewed' threads to see if it's been raised previously.

Unless of course it's a request for the game to become 'Football Chairman', allow the manager to spend their own money or to do any other task a Football Manager simply would never do.

'Personal stuff' isn't included in that thread, but it perhaps should be. It would make no difference to the game if your manager lived in this house or that house, married that man or that woman, had no children or seven...

They probably sleep together, go to the bathroom together, watch TV together, visit the cinema, eat together, drive together in the same car ... etc.

And once we add that, we will realize that other than families and homes, managers also have pets and hobbies and those will be added in as well.

Then of course managers pay taxes and shop clothes and eat sandwiches and any self-respecting FM game should absolutely add those too.

Managers also have fans in Hong Kong and Indonesia and childhood friends and exes and Jim-the-guy-across-the-street-who-say-hi-to-every-morning-but-only-know-by-the-first-name. So naturally their lives will be simulated too.

Brexit was a good starting point, but what if 6 years from now clubs break to form an European Superleague or what if a new Civil War falls upon the US and China invades Taiwan and next thing you know global war erupts and our manager needs to give up his career to live a secluded life in the mountains with his pet goat Frankie.

Once we covered the physical reality, managers have hopes and dreams and fears and fetishes and blood pressure so we must find a way to get players to experience these as accurately as possible.

Managers live on planets, Planet Earth in our case, but maybe there are other planets with other managers on them and maybe some of these managers live on methane worlds and are silicone based. I'd say the visible universe is a reasonable feature for our manager to fully immerse itself in the activity of telling others how to kick a ball.

The manager will play FM59 and spend most of his time giving instructions and setting sliders for a tribe of sheep herders on a random planet from the simulated Milky Way galaxy.

The tribesmen will praise The Manager, and the will write down The Manager's Word and will set to spread The Manager's Word to their virtual world.

Time will pass and the tribesmen will build cities and river dams and transistors and computers.

Someone will even create a video game, a simulator of their favorite sport called Paknok.

But they will realize, that while Paknok Manager is cool, you know what it would be really cool?

If you could buy houses in it.

Ole Gunnar Solskær is known to play Football Manager in the past. I think Football Manager 2020 should have Football Manager 2010 as optional minigame to kill your time whilst you should be watching your players during their training. Imagine, you setup training for your team and then you go out to the training ground, but instead of telling every player how to kick the ball you tell your assistant manager to do that and play Football Manager 2010 on your laptop instead.

I'm not even talking about card games to play whilst your team is travelling to away game. You could have Uno games for example. Or Backgammon.

Yea I can play tetris while I traveling with my players away, that can be good feature for FM that DEVS add!  Imagine Tetris in FM.

And watching and playing with my players is not something what I like it. If I want to watching and playing with my players then I can play PES or FIFA instead of FM!

You have made your point and it will be reviewed along with all the others in this forum.  Let's leave it there
