May/June - Wrapping things up (Spain)

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRdhd0VCKwMeh5_w5CcqAqSP6YaapxHUC4xmKmu0ch6Eb_gtVMJ&t=1

Welcome once again to another edition of Sky Sports 'Future Stars'. It seems to have been a long time since our last update, and we have some exciting news in tonights program.

Firstly unable to contain ourselves we are off to Spain to have a look at Alan Juel Hansens progress for Celta. A dissapointing season for Celta in which they finish 16th in the Liga Adelante, but quite an impressive season from young hansen. Vast improvements on last seasons tally will 11 goals in 32 league games, he will however be dissapointed that he missed all but one game in May/June due to straining his knee ligaments.

The exciting news however is yet to come, the rise of this young star is certainly on the radar of some bigger clubs. With Liga BBVA sides Valencia and Recreativo the front runners, and Las Palmas, who will be joining Celta in Liga Adelante due to relegation, and Liga BBVA side Zaragoza also showing interest. It will be interesting to see if Celta can keep Hansen, or if the lure of a better standard of football will be too much for the youngster.

Staying in spain, we look at beaten Spanish Cup Finalists Valencia, who Buzzasto Da Silva currently plays for. The youngster started playing some games for Valencia at the start of the season, and although he was not setting the world alight, he was playing well enough. However Tottenham soon came calling with a loan offer, and off to London Buzzasto went, however his time was largely dissapointing appearing just once for Tottenham. Some will wonder why Tottenham put in the offer, whilst others will wonder why Buzzasto couldn't push himself to get more playing time at White Hart Lane. It will be interesting to see what Valencia boss', Juan Carlos Garridos plans for Buzzasto will be next season.

Buzzasto Profile

Buzzasto History

We can wrap up this part of the show by showing the final league tables in the Spanish Leagues, where Valencia gained a respectable 4th spot and with it a chance to compete in the Champions League.

It is always sad to see teams relegated, and two of the previously promoted teams, Las Palmas and Levante have been sent back to the Liga Adelante along with Rayo.

Liga BBVA

As previously mentioned Celta performed below expectations once again and didn't challenge for promotion this season, however Valladolid who were beaten by Celta on the last game of the season, finished as champions, with Malaga and Xerez joining them in the Liga BBVA next season.

Liga Adelante

Well that completes the Spanish Section of the show, we hope you enjoyed and tune in again soon for the next section of the 'Future Stars'.

May/June - Wrapping things up (Germany/France)

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRdhd0VCKwMeh5_w5CcqAqSP6YaapxHUC4xmKmu0ch6Eb_gtVMJ&t=1

Welcome once again to another edition of Sky Sports 'Future Stars'. Today we are looking at the German and French Leagues and how our future stars have been performing.

First up is our 2011 Future Stars Player of the Year winner Chuck Noise. This youngster has really become the talk of the show with his impressive performances, which include hard tackling and brilliant playmaking abilities.

Most recently he has played in each of Belgiums four European championship matches, sadly losing out to beaten semi- finalists Italy in the quarter finals.

For Hoffenheim he improved even further, not that many thought that was possible, making 29 league appearances, scoring 7 goals, 9 assists and a massive 13 MOM awards, which of course resulted in Nosie being named Hoffenheims fans player of the year. He also played 10 times in the continental competitions which resulted in 1 assist and 5 MOM awards, which could show that he may not be ready to step up to harder competition just yet.

Noise Profile

Secondly the injury prone Le Sulk. He missed over half of the season with a hip injury, but did come back quite strong fro club side Werder Bremen. 11 league appearances yielding 3 goals and 3 assists. A MOM award and an over 7.1 average rating proves that when not injured he has some talent.

The question does however remain if he can ever get over his injury problems, and display his true potential.

Le Sulk Profile

Le Sulk History

Over to France to turn our eye to impressive Tanzania forward Mizengo Mapinduzi. Since joining Vannes OC on loan the young striker has been a revelation, finishing as top goalscorer for the club with an impressive, 25 goals in 33 league appearances. Even though it may not be in the hardest division, the striker will surely be pleased with this result, and it cannot go unnoticed. Parent club Lyon have decided that with Mizengo playing so well, that they are going to send him back on loan for the 2012/2013 season. Can he reproduce that form?

May/June - Wrapping things up (Holland)

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRdhd0VCKwMeh5_w5CcqAqSP6YaapxHUC4xmKmu0ch6Eb_gtVMJ&t=1

Welcome to a very quick show, updating our Future Star who played his competitive games in Holland this season.

Karim Al-Gaddafi is one of many stars contracted to Chelsea, however he is the lucky one who got to go out on loan for part of this season. The young striker joined Vitesse and has impressed in his time abroad. Scoring 4 goals in 13 games, and although his average rating of 6.58 wasn't a stand out figure, his assist and MOM award shows that this young striker does have talent on his day.

With Chelsea stating that this player is available for loan for the 2012/2013 season, could the youngster prove his worth in Holland again? or could the injury that has kept him out for the off season hinder this youngsters chances?

Gaddafi Profile

That is it for now, join us again soon where we will be starting to look at our Future Stars who spent last season in the English Premier League.

Welcome to a another episode of Sky Sports Future Stars, in this episode we will be looking at our stars who are contracted to clubs in England, and will start at Chelsea where a quartet of stars can be found.

We already heard about one youngster Al-Gaddafi who spent part of the season on loan in Holland, however there are three other stars who ply their trade at Stamford bridge. However in this case none of the three are doing much of their trade. Zero league games, and 4 cup games between them is all they could muster, with the Igor Kesina only one to impress in his only cup game. An Assist and 7.5 rating making him a candidate for more activity for the next season. That is of course if he doesn't leave on Loan, which is what Chelsea have planned. With Bristol City heading up a host of teams interested in Kesina. Bunday looks set to leave with a season long loan bid from championship side Wigan accepted by Chelsea. Last but not least is Long Tym Toon, who also looks set to leave on loan with Leeds and Reading the most likely to recieve the youngster.

King Tikki-Man has had a slightly more productive year. Appearing in 10 league games for his club Wolves and even though they were not the most impressive league games, the experience will be of benefit to him. He will be hoping that next year he has more chance to impress his manager and that this time he wil take his chances.

Tikki-Man Profile

Tikki-Man History

Another player to be thoroughly dissapointed with his season is Mr Ihsaan, still our most expensive future star, even if not the highest valued. 0 legue games for Manchester United, no loans, and at this present time no clubs prepared to put in an offer. However Manchester United are reportedly keen for this youngster to gin a loan move. He will of course be hoping to gain on the 1 cup appearance he made this season.

Ihsaan Profile

Ihsaan History

Andrew Poole may have had a dissapointing season in terms of playing time, not even gaining a cup appearance this term, and after starting so well for Charlton in his first season it has been a shame that Manchester City did not give him a chance. However he has stated that he has been delighted with all he has learnt from Jefferson Farfan, over this year, when Farfan has been his tutor. Also stating that Farfan is his favourite player in the game. He must also be happy with the loan deal he has just pulled off, moving to Burnley for the season. Farfan has backed the move saying more first team experience will do the world of good for Poole.

Poole Profile

Poole History

James Sheriff has secured a loan, and will once again spend a season with Bristol City, however as they have gotten relegated he will not be playing Premier league football next season. He will however be hoping he can gain a trophy as Bristol City are among the favourites to win the Championship trophy next season. Sheriffs season in the premier league with city was quite impressive with 10 goals from 32 apperances. He will of course hope to improve on that tally this season.

Sheriff Profile

Sheriff History

Matthew Cooper has had a brilliant season, the youngster has really shown the talent that he has, and has firmly established himself in the Aston Villa first team, with 27 league games, 4 assists and 5 MOM awards, not to mention the fact that he was named Aston Villa Supporters 2011/2012 player of the season.

Cooper is also first choice LB for England U21s.

This impressive season has led to Cooper being our highest valued Future Star, and one who is definitely showing that he can reach his potential.

Cooper Profile

Well that sums up the 2011/2012 season for all 14 of our Future Stars, make sure you tune in to the next episode which will be the annual Future Stars Player of the Year Awards live from Wembley Arena.

Player of the Year - Ceremony - Live from Wembley

Welcome to our second annual "Future Star" Player of the Year awards, live from the Wembley Arena in London. We are jam packed here tonight with entertainment throughout the night culminating in the award for player of the season.

294895208_f762c42ece.jpg

We kick off the night with a word from our sponsors.

**What most Football fans want to hear is Beer, Babes and Football, unfortunately they are not quite in abundance here. However if your looking for passsionate books about the beautiful game, then head over to the FM Book Store, where you can see Authors such as Tenthree, Mark Wilson and others. Check us out NOW! **

Welcome back folks, our budget is slightly smaller this year, so this year to give his predictions we have the politically correct pundit of the year.....wait....we couldn't get big ears.....we have Keys instead.....oh well....Heres Richard Keys to give us his predictions on who has a chance in this years awards.

Keys: Well, the outside this year has to be Mapinduzi, had a good loan move which has shown that he can put the ball in the back of the net, but Noise has once again been on form, as well as Cooper. Obviously the Chelsea lads have no chance, but Le Sulk has done quite well when he has been fit. Just as long as its not one of those long hair.............. *Microphone cuts off as camera pans away*

Thanks Richard for your insightful views, without further ado, or further lawsuits, lets get the awards underway.

Once again our Sky Sports news team has narrowed it down to the top 5, and in no particular order here are the top 5 nominees for player of the year.

Mizengo Mapinduzi - *Highlight package runs as a voiceover can be heard* Mapinduzi has found his feet in France, a superb goalscoring record on loan to Vannes, and this youngster certainly knows how to impress, with another season long loan underway for the 2012/2013 campaign. If he can keep up his impressive goalscoring record he will no doubt be a force to be reckoned with in the future.

Alan Juel Hansen - *Highlight package runs as voiceover can be heard* Hansen has become a staple in the Celta team that is struggling to get back into the Liga BBVA. He has however managed to become more consistent, and score a quite impressive 11 goals in just over 30 matches, with a ratio better than 1 goal in every 3 surely this player is ready to make a move up.

Chuck Noise - *Highlight package runs as voiceover can be heard* Noise is once again Mr Consistent, with a year that slightly improves on his first, Noise can do it all, score, set up goals, and wow the fans. This youngster is a staple in the belgian national side and surely on good things are going to come to this talented youngster.

Le Sulk - *Highlight package runs as voiceover can be heard* Le Sulk has had an injury plagued season, however since he has returned from injury and been fit he has been causing a lot of heads to turn. 3 goals in 11 games as well as some very pleasing reviews from all areas of the media, it is rumoured that if Le Sulk can stay fit he could become a first team player in the france national squad.

Matthew Cooper - *Highlight package runs as voiceover can be heard* Cooper has had a fantastic season by all accounts, regularly named in the premier League team of the week, Named in Aston Villas seasonal 11, and given the honour of becoming the 2011/2012 Fans Player of the Year. Cooper has become one of the most promising full backs of this generation, and one that will surely be knocking on the door of the England first team next year.

We have the one and only Chris Kamara, who is clearly delighted to be presenting the results.

kamara300.jpg

Kamara: Now for the results.

In third place - with 19% of the votes.....MIZENGO MAPINDUZI, a great year for the youngster, but possibly the reputation of the league hindered his votes. He will have to keep up this good work to truly get on the fans radar.

In second place - with 26% of the votes.....CHUCK NOISE, once again a great year, and surely some will see this as an upset, however once again our fans are more concentrated on the big 3 leagues, and unfortunately for Chuck he hasn't proved himeself on a bigger stage,

In first place - and with our closest result yet, with 27% of the votes, and this years FUTURE STAR OF THE YEAR......MATTHEW COOPER. The youngster was the supporters player of the year for Villa, and deserves recognition nationally as well. He has become one of the best full backs in the premier league, consistent perfromances, and a great attitude to the game. This youngster will go along way, and with the recognition of being the Future Star 2012 he will have to prove himself one again next season.

*Cooper collects his award, gives a short speech, and then sits down to a huge round of applause*

Kamara: Thats it once again for this year. Join us again next year, and remember to tune in to Future Stars only on Sky Sports. Goodnight to you all, and thank you once agin for what has been an UNBELIEVABLE night.

Ps: Matthew Cooper has a choice to make as his surprise reward Either

  • +3 points to spend on attributes,
  • +5 to Pa
  • +100 to each rep
Link to post

Close result indeed, but I'm glad to have won the award this year and that more players are getting themselves in the mix for the years ahead.

I believe I will have +100 to all reps please as my chosen reward, should draw the attention of better clubs and get me a big money move elsewhere if Villa choose to let me go, not sure what the board is up to behind the scenes but its unsettling for sure.

KUTGW Glenn and roll on season 3!

Just so everyone knows i decided to add 150 to each rep. Just to make it a bit more of an impact.

Will be for any player who chooses that option in the future as well.

Also just to let you all know i am currently holidaying through pre-season and will let you know of any transfers soon :)

July - New Beginnings

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRdhd0VCKwMeh5_w5CcqAqSP6YaapxHUC4xmKmu0ch6Eb_gtVMJ&t=1

Welcome to this short update of Future Stars, exclusively on Sky Sports.

During the month of July there are always rumours, big money transfer, broken down deals, and one or two dummys spat out. The question is do any of these have any connection to our Future Stars.

With their names becomming more well known, the young stars will have talked to their agents on more than one occasion over the last month.

Starting with the Chelsea boys, all of which were available for loan at the end of the season.

Igor Kesina, a player with talent that he is dieing to show has been sent on loan to relegated Bristol City, he will hope that championship football will be a step up to bigger things, and that of course he will be getting a decent amount of playing time.

He has started off pre season with the kind of attitude that must force its way into the first team. A goal against Northampton and 2 goals in a MOM performance against Motherwell will surely impress manager Keith Millen.

Glen Bunday will be joining him in the championship, loaned to Wigan just yesterday (30/07/12) the youngster is said to be pleased at an opportunity to prove himself and gain valuable first team experience.

Long Tym Toon is still listed for loan, and has garnered interest from new Premier League boys Reading. They are interested in signing him on loan, but no formal offer has been made.

Last but not least, Igor Kesina. A good season at Vitesse last year has certainly improved his reputation, and has alerted Cordoba of the Liga Adelante, who are reportedly ready to make a loan bid for the youngster. Could Kesina be playing against Hansen next season, only time will tell.

James Sheriff enjoyed himself at Bristol City last season, but will not be joining again contrary to popular rumours. he has instead be loaned out to Basel, where he may get a chance to prove himself on a European stage in the Euro Cup, if of course he is selected. Sheriff has however had one minor setback with a Chest Injury sustained on the 24th July ruling him our for 3 weeks of pre-season.

Another Loan deal that had previously been mentioned on Future Stars was that Man City had agreed to loan at Andrew Poole to Burnley. 6 pre season games later and Poole has started to impress the fans at Turf Moor, 2 assists and an average rating of 7, shows that this youngster has something to prove, and is well on his way to doing so.

With interest in Allan Juel Hansen growing and possible loan moves for Mapinduzi, after his proposed repeat loan to Vannes was seemingly called off, August promises to be an interesting month. The season will kick off, but the question is where will our Future Stars be playing?

August - Window Shut! Pt 1

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRdhd0VCKwMeh5_w5CcqAqSP6YaapxHUC4xmKmu0ch6Eb_gtVMJ&t=1

Welcome to this short update of Future Stars, exclusively on Sky Sports . It is the 3rd September 2012 and the transfer window is shut.

We have some big news in todays programme, and we will jump straight in with our main headline.

Mapinduzi impresses the big guns.

Mizengo Mapinduzi has become our highest valued Future Star, after sealing a move to Manchester United in a move thought to be worth an initial £6.5 million, making his accumulative fees just under £7million, and making Mapinduzi our current highest valued Future Star.

Some were predicting mapinduzi was going to be the next Ihsaan, who has had a dreadful time at United, stuck on the bench with almost no playing time to his name. After 3 games (2 PL 1 Com Shield) without an appearance things were looking bad for Mapinduzi. However his first league game at home to Burnley was a positive experience, a goal after 19 minutes and a solid performance, the only sour note will be the fact that his team only drew 1-1.

While at Old Trafford we also caught up with Mr Ihsaan who has had no luck this season. 1 sub appearance for the reserves which didn't provide an excitement, and no loan moves look set for the youngster who was looking promising at the start of this program.

A player who did manage to move on loan was Karim Al-Gaddafi who is now in spain with Gimnastic, playing in the Liga Adelante. He joined in time for their first game, in which he played the full 90 and had a solid performance. He will be hoping this first team opportunity he has been given can catapult him to bigger things. Petr Cech piped up to tell the Official Club Website, that he thought it was a good move for Karim.

Another Chelsea boy has become a non-mover. Long Tym Toon has yet to seal a loan move, although Bolton are interested. However he has just injured himself for 2 weeks with a groin strain, which may put off Bolton or any other potential suitors.

Igor Kesinas loan move has not got off to a great start, whilst things were going well in pre season (3 goals in 4 games) he missed the first game of the season, but watched from the bench, and in his Debut for Bristol City he came off the bench in the 38th minute, to get injured on the 90th. He is still injured and will take another 2 weeks or more to get over this badly twisted ankle.

Our final Chelsea player is Glen Bunday, who managed to secure a loan to Championship league leaders Wigan, unfortunately like Chelsea before them they have decided not to utilise the player, and he has been left watching from the stands, not even meriting a place on the subs bench on most occasions.

The last player we are focusing on in this update will be our Future Star of the Year, Matthew Cooper. The youngster will have hoped for a good start to the season, however it has not quite gone to play. He started in Villas 0-0 draw against Wolves, however his performance was less than impressive (6.1). He then however travelled and captained England U21's to a thrilling 5-0 thrashing over Greece. He returned only to find he was not included in Villas League cup match, in which new signing Grzegorz Wojtkowiak, a Polish fullback started and played well. Will Cooper have a fight on his hand to get back in the first team? Only time will tell.

Join us again next time for Part 2 of our August update, where we will review how this month has gone for the other 7 of our Future Stars.

August - Window Shut! Pt 2

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRdhd0VCKwMeh5_w5CcqAqSP6YaapxHUC4xmKmu0ch6Eb_gtVMJ&t=1

Welcome to this short update of Future Stars, exclusively on Sky Sports . It is the 3rd September 2012 and the transfer window is shut.

Buzzasto Da Silva has become one of our highest valued players. With some estimating that he could now be worth over £4 million. He has managed to break into the first team at Valencia, starting in both champions league qualifier matches and also their one league game - a 2-0 loss to Zaragoza. However he will have to find form if he is to stay in the first team, an average rating of 6.35 just won't cut it at this level.

Hansen has also become a regular in Spain, although at a lesser level. Celta have played one game this season and it was a 1-1 draw with Barcelona Athletic. Hansen played reasonably well but didn't do anything of particular note. It also seems that interest in our least valued (£1.1 mil) player has died down.

Our next player has picked up where he left off last season. Playing in a squad rotation system for Wolves, and turning in poor performances. This time King Tikki-Man was a starter in the Wolves 2nd league game of the season a 1-0 away loss to Everton. He is still to show his potential, and we may have our least impressive player in our competition right here folks.

Sometimes loan moves have to be questioned. Everyone at Sky Sports thought that Andrew Poole to Burnley was a great move, the youngster was very impressive for Charlton and hasn't had a chance at City. So when Burnley took the young talented winger on loan, we thought it was a great match. 4 competitive games later and not even named in the squad Poole must be wondering what has gone wrong in his career.

A loan move that has started well is James Sheriffs move to Basel. The youngster scored on his debut in the Europa Cup tie against Maritimo. It took the youngster just 6 minutes to put his team ahead in a match they would eventually draw 1-1. It is however a pity he couldn't repeat his heroics in the home leg, as Basel went crashing out in a shock 2-0 home loss.

Chuck Noise has rather unsurprisingly started the new campaign with a storming performance. He scored a goal and got MOM and an 8.1 rating in Hoffenheims first league match. It looks set to be another year of hard work and impressive showings from this talented young belgian. Surely it won't be long before the big clubs come calling.

Last but not least is Le Sulk who has surprisingly been fit for the start of the campaign. He however has not been first choice at Bremen. He has started once and been brought on once in their europa qualifying campaign and has played well when he has been chosen, bagging a goal against Dubnica. Another player who may end up moving sooner rather than later.

Well thats it for tonight folks. Good night and God Bless!

Aug - Nov - Maturing! Pt 1

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRdhd0VCKwMeh5_w5CcqAqSP6YaapxHUC4xmKmu0ch6Eb_gtVMJ&t=1

Welcome to another edition of Future stars, in today's episode we will be looking at how the first few months of the season has gone for some of our 'Future Stars'. have any of them made an impact at their new clubs? Has anyone burst on to the european scene? OR have they all stagnated and shown no signs of progression. Find out here on Sky Sports Future Stars!

We start off looking at a player who has had a rough time at his club.
Matthew Cooper
has not particularly in a playing sense but due to the fact that the club seems to change backroom staff every year. A new chairman that was promoted from within Aston Villas Board won't be much of a change to Coopers life, but the apointment of Stephen Warnock as captain will see one full back position virtually removed from Coopers clutches. With only 1 league game played it seems that Gary McAllister prefers Kobin as a Right back and Warnock as a Left back. Leaving cooper to watch from the bench in most matches.

However Coopers impressive display against arsenal as the starting Right back in the League Cup will have given the scot something to think about.

Staying in England we look at the Chelsea Three. First off
Long Tym Toon
who has still only got the one cup appearance for Chelsea under his belt. Nine games into the season and it still looks like Toon is nowhere near the starting line up. However with Bolton and West Brom looking to loan the youngster there could be hope for him yet.

Next up is
Glen Bunday
, the youngster wowed anyone who watched reserve team matches last year at Chelsea. Now he has been given a chance to shine on the center stage. Playing in just under half of their 13 games, and scoring 3 goals. Most notably a brace in Wigans big 4-0 win over Cardiff, gaining MOM and claiming a starting place for the next 2 games. We are unsure if Wigan are using him sparingly, if the virus that kept him out for the second half of July affected his pre-season or if Wigan manager Graeme Jones just gave him some time to settle in, but he is surely the sort of player who could light up this league.

Another player who finds himself on loan in the championship is
Igor Kesina
, the young slovenian finds himself at Bristol City, an ankle injury has kept him out for 4 weeks, and his 3 starts and 3 sub appearances have not shown his true potential. It could take some time for him to settle, but he certainly has enough potential to make it in this division.

The final Chelsea player out on loan is
Karim Al-Gaddafi
. The youngster is in spain with Gimnastic, and has yet to find his true form. He has played in the majority of their games, and has shown some good signs, but consistency is the key for any good young player, and Karim just has not implemented that into his game yet.

Another player on loan from one of the Premier Leagues big boys is
Andrew Poole
, the talented winger is gaining valuable first team experience at Burnley with 5 games player out of 9 in the league, and part of that may be due to his inclusion in the 3rd placed English U23 team in the 2012 Olympic games. Poole has yet to do anything to excite fans at Turf Moor, but he has played good solid football, which surely is all the coaching staff can ask for. He did also come 3rd in the young player of the month for September.

The final player we are looking at in this show is another player in one of the big Premiership clubs.
Mr Ihsaan
was the talk of the show when he signed for Manchester United, but with no significant playing time, and little development he is at risk of being one of the many youngsters with a reputation that preceeds performances. Still with only 1 league and 1 cup apperance, and now in his third year at Manchester United, the youngster must be desperate to get some playing time under his belt. One bit of good news was that Ihsaan said that he greatly improved under the guidance of Anderson who had been tutoring him.

Well thats all for tonight on Sky Sports Future Stars, join us again next time where we will round up the rest of the happenings for the other seven Future Stars.
