  1. Wow, South America...the leagues in and around it are stacked with gems and potential cult hero's this year again! Here's a couple more I've found. There's more I'll try and get up today at some point. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Name : Diego Almeida Position : DC Age : 18 Club : FC Barcelona I know! he's not based in SA but I couldn't ignore him or leave him out, looks a great player and I'm optimistic Barcelona will do business. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Name : Lucas Assadi Position : AML Age : 18 Club : Universidad de Chile --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Name : Marco Angulo Position : DMC Age : 20 Club : Independiente del Valle --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Name : Robert Fernandez Position : LB/LWB Age : 22 Club : Bolivar --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Name : Denner Position : AMRLC Age : 22 Club : Sporte Recife ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2. Been trying to deep dive into what the Nordic leagues has to offer this year before i start my main saves, now that the full game has released I may have to create my own shortlists of all these players as there's some great wee players popping up in this thread. Here's my offerings for today : ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Name : Yasin AyariPosition : MCAge : 18Club : AIKValue/Asking Price : Maybe £1.5m depending on negotiations ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Name : Filip BungaardPosition : AMC/STKAge : 18Club : RandersValue/Asking Price : £2m-£3m I really like this lad, only 18 and already stacked stat wise for some of the leagues i play in. He's wanted by some big sides already so there's obviously something there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Name : Otso LiimattaPosition : MC/AMCAge : 17Club : AC OuluValue/Asking Price : Under £1m ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Name : Joel MvukaPosition : AMRLAge : 19Club : Bodo/GlimtValue/Asking Price : £2m - £ 4m Love him! He's a wanted man though so be quick. Pace, skill, trickery...good with both feet? If you can work on his passing and crossing he could be a dangers little player. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Name : Hakon Rafn VladimarssonPosition : GKAge : 20Club : ElfsborgValue/Asking Price : Under £800k -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  3. Player Name : Ivan Jamie Position : MC Age : 21 Club : FamalicaoValue/Asking Price : Under £2m A silky wee playmaker, some right solid stats at 21 years of age. Asking price and wages could open him up for a whole host of leagues and clubs.
  4. Have a look here, someone picked him up after a couple of seasons for Forest.
  5. Unfortunately not, as soon as I took over Bordeaux he announced he was leaving on a Bosman. Shame really, although 5 days before the start of season 2 he still doesn't have a new club...
  6. Had to make a thread to highlight a player that could really contribute across a few different levels, from the French league to the Championship to the SPL and beyond. His performances vs his cost warrant at least a consideration. If you don't want to pay for him you have the option to wait as, like he did on my Bordeaux save, he will leave on a Bosman and his wages aren't extortionate. The above season he could have easily got another 10-15 goals if I hadn't have had a shocking dip after Christmas. A solid wee player who will score goals I feel generally anywhere, while not world class he's got ability. Josh Maja.
  7. Had to give my boy here a wee shout out, on a free with relatively low wages, hit double figures in his first season. 4 of his goals were absolutely stunning free kicks, combine that with some great delivery from set pieces he makes for at least a valuable option to have in your squad.
  8. Girondins de Bordeaux Season 1 : Operation - The Return Thats the first season done and dusted, a lot more stressful than I originally thought. The goal from the outset was simple, promotion. Ligue 2 has numerous teams that can cause problems and form the outset as both Metz and Valenciennes provided a battle i wasn't expecting. I settled into a system that worked pretty quickly but around the midway point of the season I started to suffer from poor performances and results suffered accordingly. Recruitment was reasonable, the club had reached its loan limit before I arrived so I couldn't add any temporary solutions so I ventured into the free transfer market. Right down to the wire, all hail Bastia! My new friends done me the ultimate favor, not only did they ensure we took home the title but they also ensure their own safety by beating high flying Metz. Like i said this went way closer than i had ever intended due to some real shakey form in the middle section of the season, i didn't really help us get through it quickly by chopping and changing formation and tactics trying to rectify the situation. Once things settle down we won 9 out our last 11 games to secure that all important top spot. All aboard the Josh Maja express! this boy was a machine, if i could have got him some better service I really think he could have scored another 10-15 more goals. It makes it all the more painful when I tell you he has left the club on a free and is STILL without a club 5 days before the start of my Ligue 1 campaign. He decided pretty quickly once I took over that he would explore the Bosman option so I lost that battle before it started. It didn't stop him from performing, i did contemplate cashing in on his value at December time as there was some interest but his goal contribution was just too much to lose. Absolute machine, he single handidly won us the league as you can see below! Great goal scorer, sad to see him go. If you get the chance to bring him in on a free, do it...do it now! As you can see below there's pretty much no denying his input, he leaves us on the ultimate high. Aside from Maja I have to stroke my managerial genius and mention the two other players who stood out, both of course are my signings and both were brought in on free transfers. Eliaquim Mangala is my man, this big unit stepped in and made our defence solid(sans a period after Christmas) partnering Barbet, they both made a calming influence on the youngsters around them which gave Tom Lacoux the change to absolutely dictate games at times. Obviously Mangala takes the spot as my signing of the season but the surprise package comes in the form of Heinz Morschel, chipping in with double figures in goals and assists was useful enough but it was his set piece delivery that stood out, at least 4 of his goals were stunning free kicks and if my memory is correct two of those four won the goal of the month. Another wee gem that can be picked up on a free. Season 2 : Survival So yeah, the aim basically for the season ahead is survival. Surprisingly the board gave me an £8m transfer budget and as I'll explain I've managed to also recoup in transfer fees of just under £12m, I then went on a mission to ensure I made that £20m stretch to try and strengthen the squad as well as ensure I made solid investments to match my own personal player trading model. I'm not entirely sure what this season will bring, some of the teams we are in the mix with look stacked and we...do...not. I'll try and get a wee preseason update to show our business and plans. Apologies for the picture heavy rambling.
  9. Love this idea, Hamburg loyal here. Planning a save with them once the full games launches next week. The German leagues, all 3 of them, have so many teams that can offer such varied challenges it's one of my favourite destinations.
  10. Player Name : Andrey Santos Position : MC Age : 18 Club : Vasco de Gama Disappointingly my first contribution isn't some bargain unknown but someone very well known and expensive. That being said this boy is special, potentially elite. He has all the important stats in the right place bar that hugely alarming natural fitness, however he gives me vibes of Real Madrid's Tchouameni. A favourite of mine already due to preforming well in my beta test save.
  11. International management...deary me. The year of a World Cup commencing nigh on the same time frame as the game releases and its seems no time was put into it. Same old, same old generally but worst of all can someone explain to me how the "request to switch nation" feature actually works, in terms of what factors get taken into account to reach a decision. I've legitimately seen 23-32 year old English players playing in the 6th tier of England reject a national call-up to Nigeria... right before going to the 2025 CAF and won it! Solanke (who's heavily linked to switching to Nigeria) declined, so I thought "Can I call anyone up to switch?" Went to the English 6th tier and...nope. Not a single player. All because they're "impressed by their general reputation within the game". Is this done to protect player license so players don't become dissatisfied with how they are portrayed? As I spoke with people who say that newgens are more likely to switch than RL players, if so it would be good if this was alluded too much like we know about the Germany & Japan licence issues. Still no training sessions so players don't improve while they're with the NT, there's no rest and recovery so players are always gassed during international tournaments (unless you rotate heavily which isn't very realistic), the tactical familiarity is always very low because the players somehow don't know how to play the same system they play in their clubs for the NT. Not trying to come across overly negative, the game is still very good this year, match engine seems great.
  12. He was a monster last year, made a great foil for Karim Konate. Glad to see he still looks handy,
  13. Noted. Valera looks very good, not sure what i'll have to work with in season 2 so could be out my price range but he's definitely one of this years SA gems.
  14. I've been eyeing Agustin up for a bosman move to my Bordeaux side, do you think he has enough to make the move to Europe? At 22 he looks to still have room to improve, what kind of role do you use him in?
  15. I'm sitting top of Ligue 2 with Bordeaux and this guy has stepped up in place of my injured captain and formed a solid partnership next to Mangala, his vaule has also rocketed up to nearly £3m. Great wee addition on a free.
  16. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- South American football? Pele or Maradona? R9 or Messi? This lovely part of the world has given us players who will be argued about until the end of time as to who is the best player ever, but there's so much more to enjoy and appreciate. Some of the unquestionable hero's of FM have come from here, personally I am a huge nerd for Argentinian football, stemming back to watching Batistuta & Veron tear up Italian football on Channel 4 every Sunday. Since then I've always kept a close eye through FM as to the who's who and by doing this its lead me to appreciate some of the other nations that make up the bat **** crazy world of South American football. Peru, Uruguay, Colombia, Ecuador are now some of the first places I check out to see who next player is going to become a cult hero...I'm looking at you Yuriel Celi & Gerard Tavara... To appreciate what is to come, we have to admire what lead the way... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What Came Before..... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Firstly, apologies for spamming a 3rd thread with an image heavy start but we've got to get the eyes on it somehow, this thread can be for any type of player, no limit on talent or budget... it's not just an Endrick loyal thread! What now? the leagues in this continent is filled with battle hardened veterans and wonderkids waiting for their big move to Europe as well as a whole host of talented players in-between. It's our job to get their names out there and share in their glory.
  17. Love this thread, specifacally enjoy reading about @Lesterfan_Cambiassoand his exploits. Hidalgo looks a player, definetly one i'll be checking out on my own saves, you should keep us updated on his development even when he leaves! I'm thinking of doing a player recommendation thread for South America and i can pretty much guarantee my first player to watch out for is "EL MATADOR"! Keep up the good work gents.
  18. Couple more that I like the look of, I'm trying to avoid the obvious and find some value deeper in these leagues. there guys aren't world class and all have their deficiencies. Player Name : James Gomez Position : DC Age : 20 Club : AC Horsens Value/Asking Price : £1m - £2m A solid young defender, decent starting physical and mental stats with plenty of room to develop I think. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Player Name : Bilal Hussein Position : MC Age : 22 Club : AIK Value/Asking Price : £700k - £1.5m Nice balance of stats, very silky midfielder would could dictate a game up to a certain level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Player Name : Igoh Ogbu Position : DC Age : 22 Club : Lillestrom Value/Asking Price : £2.3m - £ 4m ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Player Name : Yann-Aurel Bisseck Position : DC Age : 21 Club : AGF Value/Asking Price : £600k - £6m
  19. Well happy that this thread has been welcomed, the leagues along with the Nordic ones I don't think get enough credit or attention, most people will go with what they know in Europe or raid South America(although i say that almost negatively i have given thought to making a thread for those leagues as well as there's some serious talent down there that isn't necessarily Brazilian or Argentinian). I'm going to keep these as active as i can with any talent i find, here's a couple more i like the look of... Player Name : Marquinhos Position : Striker Age : 22 Club : Ferencvarosi TC Asking Price : £1.5m-£3.3m ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Name : Noah Sonko Sundberg Position : DC Age : 26 Club : Levski Sofia Asking Price : £1.5m - £3.2m --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Name : Kiril Despodov Position : AMRL Age : 25 Club : Ludogorets Asking Price : £650k - £6m ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Name : Kings Kangwa Position : MC Age : 23 Club : Red Star Asking Price : £550k - £5m ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Name : Aissa Laidouni Position : MC Age : 25 Club : Ferencvarosi TC Asking Price : £450k - £4m -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  20. First couple aren't exactly unknown but they really are personal favourites of mine, ill drop in some info and in game screens when I'm back from work tonight. Player Name : Isak Johannsson Bergmann Position : MC Age : 18 Club : FCKobenhavenValue : £8m Asking Price : Unknown currently --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Name : Mohammed Diomande Position : AMC Age : 20 Club : FC NordsjaellandValue : £3m Asking Price : £4-£6m --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Name : Tim Prica Position : Striker Age : 19 Club : AaBValue : £3m Asking Price : Under £5m
  21. Nothing like a copy a paste job from the Nordic League thread eh!? To be fair though this has been a thread I have always wanted to start as FM through the years has been laden with amazing players coming from the leagues within these countries and sometimes I feel they don't get enough credit. For this thread i was to learn about all type of players, from young prospects to battle hardened veterans, they all have their worth in FM 23. Par with the course, a slight disclaimer is needed. I, like many others, tend not to play all in FM saves in England or even at "larger" clubs so a lot of these players may very well not be up to your usual standards. But for some people these players can prove very valuable within our squads, also I've decided not to just limit it to those whose nationality is from one of the above nations but anyone playing their football in the leagues above as there are a number of quality African and South American players who really are worth a look. I'll be using the below layout when i post players to try and give as much info as possible, if you feel there's anything i haven't included or obviously missed just let me know. Player Name : Position : Age : Club : Value & Asking Price : Player Name : Dion Drena Beljo Position : Striker Age : 20 Club : NK Osijek Value : £3m Asking Price : £6m-£8m -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Name : Octavian Popescu Position : LW Age : 19 Club : FCSB Value : £3m Asking Price : Under £5m -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Name : Martin Baturina Position : CM/AMC Age : 19 Club : Dinamo Zagreb Value : £5m Asking Price : £8m-£10m ** Will updated with in game screenshots and player information **
  22. [ And we're back! FM23 has given me a right kick up the back side and I feel refreshed for another foray into the madness of pixelated management, not only does FM23 feel great it is very much packed with some absolute gems this year... and nowhere more so than all of our favourite shopping destinations, yes you know it! you love it! you pillage teams for youngsters at a daylight robbery price! Of course, its the Nordic leagues! Also, as a caveat, there are a couple of players who may appear here who aren't exactly "bargains", we'll get to them very soon, there are now some players playing in the Nordic leagues who's talent are being recognised with respectable fees. I'm looking at the absolute wealth of knowledge that @Welshace @Ronaldo Beckham & @Jogo Bonito will bestow upon us. I'll be using the below layout when i post players to try and give as much info as possible, if you feel there's anything i haven't included or obviously missed just let me know. Player Name : Position : Age : Club : Value & Asking Price : **Will update once I can add screenshots, information etc**
  23. Seems as good a place as any to share.... I mentioned in the excellent Marseille thread that I'm doing an online thread this year with my mate, he has drawn Newcastle (sacked before the WC and ended up at Hibs in Scotland. Ha!), I was fortunate to draw out Bordeaux. They were a team I was planning on doing my own save with, so it's really worked out well. On FM22 i draw Auxerre for our online save and ended up doing well enough to get the Lille job, I'm hoping to do the same this year with my eyes firmly on Marseille & Isaak Toure. I'm hoping this thread will provide a home one my journey in France. So, we've just reached the World cup break (which Holland won) and I'm sitting top of Ligue 2, Five points clear. Our form started out a bit ropey but once we got a settled 11 it all fell into place it feels. Yohan Barbet is proving to be a hero as captain, partnered at CB by one of my summer signings Eliquim Mangala, the bond these two have developed is really evident. My main man is most definitely Josh Maja, he's the current top scorer with 21 goals before Christmas. The issue I have is he is leaving on a bosman and has no interest in negotiating a new contract, this is the conundrum I find myself in, do I try and get a fee in just now before clubs can approach him on a free, there is interest in him. I can see us struggling for goals if he was to leave so it seems I've already made my mind up... I've already started to scout for his replacement and I've got it down to two names I think I might be able to afford : Marlon Mustapha or Dion Drena Beljo. Once we get the season finished I'll try and get some screenshots and a decent update.
  24. Great thread. I'm doing an online save with a friend, we did a wheel spinning mega draw to disccover our teams, he landed Newcastle United and i got Bordeaux. My goal with them is to win Ligue 2 first season then solidify the clubs position in Ligue 1. I done this last year where i started out at Auxerre in our online save before moving onto Lille, this year my eye is firmly on Marseille & Issak Toure. Will definitely be checking in here throughout FM23.
  25. She's definitely packed it on cause she knows the BETA's out today and wants to crack on with a save...
