XaW - Markham FC (Papua New Guinea) - Season 2042/43 (Season 20) - Kumul Petroleum National Soccer League
There we go! Two in the box, and Oceania was surprisingly easy, but the intakes we got here in Papua New Guinea has been amazing. We also retained the league and I threw the cup since it interfered with the Champions League, and the 2nd string failed. I think I'm heading back to Africa now to try to do it again there before I then go to Asia. Onwards!
Papua Cup: We beat Eastern Stars before we lost to Welgris Highlanders in the 1st round.
Oceania Champions League: We drew Eastern Suburbs of New Zealand, ABM Galaxy of Vanuatu, and AS Dragon of Tahiti. We won 2 and drew the last to finish top of the group. We then beat Henderson Eels of the Solomon Islands, and AS Dragon of Tahiti again to reach the final. There we had a rematch against AS Piraé of Tahiti who had won it 5 times in a row, including beating us last season. This time we did it in a dominating fashion to clinch our 2nd big trophy!

FC Wacker Innsbruck
Season 2031/32
I appointed a new HOYD, Galli, absolute improvement! I must say our previous HOYD did a wonderful job.
The CL drew us in the first leg against Trabzonspor, didn't know what to expect from that team. We won fairly easy on total aggregate
Our next opponent became PSV, that would be a tough one to beat. We lost there 3-2 but made it count in the second leg...
What a game that was!! So on to the league phase and the big greasy money pot!!
This is the CL for us, what a draw, didn't expect much from us.
but with a few good results we managed to qualify for the playoff phase!!
We got eliminated by the winner of the CL at the end...Man City, with our head held high!
Meanwhile, not to much hope for our first intake with the new HOYD
Competition
This is how we ended the regular phase
In the meantime we won the cup!
The champions playoffs were very very challenging, we lost our second game, so we were backtrailing trough the whole playoffs until we played home against Red Bull, we won that game in the last minute
With one game left we knew everything was possible with a home game against Sturm Graz and Red Bull were playing at Rapid Wien ( never easy ), so 1 point behind Red Bull was the reality...
After 95 minutes they were drawing against Rapid Wien,
we also had a draw in our hands against Sturm, until the 84th minute...absolute delirium!!!
We managed to do the DOUBLE!!
Our prospects were okay on first sight, nothing special.
Our financial position is extremely healthy
What a great season ! winning the double, getting the European experience and money. Good job and a big motivation to keep on building.

Afrika Reykjavik (Iceland) - FM24 - Introduction
The Club
Formation
Afrika are an interesting team that are reasonably well known in the FM community. They are one of those interesting teams that will generate foreign youth players
They were founded in 2002(?) by Moroccan Zakaria 'Zico' Anbari. Zico is also the teams manager and was the 'star' of a documentary movie that followed the club and players in 2005.
I haven't seen the film, but have managed to find the trailer, and the description of the film below pretty much sums up what I saw in that trailer.
Zico came to Iceland from Morocco in search of his fortune but became depressed following his subsequent bankruptcy. In an attempt to lift this spirits, he formed Afrika, a multi-national squad of players based around a core of African players alongside others from countries including Serbia, Portugal and Colombia.
Africa United charts the team’s first foray into the (relative) upper echelons of Icelandic football. Zico and his team have just one real problem; they’re not very good. Each match seems to be a carnival of ill-discipline and sloppy defending, often exacerbated by the concession of a series of weak penalties (generally courtesy of the player-manager’s last-ditch attempts to stop conceding another goal).
The succession of defeats is broken up with a few road trips abroad. We follow Zico back home to Morocco and on a pilgrimage to London to seek the advice of then Charlton manager Alan Curbishley.
In recent years, Afrika have started to field more Polish players and have at times fielded teams made entirely Polish players. I understand that this will be replicated in-game, but cannot confirm as we haven't yet had an intake. The following is translated from a Polish newspaper website article from Dec 2021.
Poles are the largest group of immigrants in Iceland, currently almost 20,000 people live there. Our compatriots, who constitute over 5 percent of the country's population. It is therefore not surprising that there is no shortage of Poles willing to play football. When the Afrika team had personnel problems a few years ago, many of our compatriots joined the team.
– I once fielded a team composed entirely of Poles – says the Moroccan coach.
Ground
Afrika play their home matches at Bessastaðavöllur in Garðabær, Reykjavik, which has a capacity of 1000 (no seats).
Facilities
No youth academy at the start of the save.
The Manager
Given the Poland links, I was tempted to bring my favourite newgen from my Widzew save with me. However, I couldn't start a new save without bringing my favourite ever player. Graham Byron came through my intake at Cardiff Corries in FM22 and was with me for nearly 30 years as player and coach.
Housekeeping
This is how I set up the game. Denmark (T2+), Sweden and Norway (T1) are set as playable leagues to hopefully create a realistic transfer market for Icelandic clubs.
First (Holiday) Season
Well, this is how the club performed this season in real life.
Thankfully the team was far more competitive in-game, but they did still finish bottom of the group.
I took over at manager on 10 December 2023, at the end of the first season.
Good luck, Xaw played with them few FM's ago and i did a few seasons at FM23. Some african regens but most of them are from Poland (or Iceland).

Secondly! (please ignore the date, I am VERY behind on updates)
Which HOYD would you choose? My current one has produced some good crop but lately has been disappointing. However his reputation is better. Also one of my tactics is 442, so kind of nice.
My prospective new HOYD (below) has a better personality and attributes, but I don't play with wing backs (4-3-3 DM wide is my 2nd/3rd tactic).Always the one with higher pro and det. You can retrain your players because of the 'wrong' formation , but mentoring to give them a higher personality or det is much harder.

Season 6
2030/31
FC Wacker Innsbruck
We started the season in the last qualifying round of the Europa League
We drew Club Brugge from Belgium, we managed to qualify and got this draw for the league phase
So we got a pretty great league phase!
After the league phase, we drew Rennes and got to the next round to get eliminated by Aston Villa
In the competition we were immediately on top of the business untill the winterbreak
With a good preview but not an excellent...would have wanted more A's...
This was the end of the league phase in the Bundesliga
These results led us to a CL spot in the league!! Massive result for the club
Almost forgot to discuss the new intake, we got an absolute beast on right back
and a very good central midfielder
We also got some upgrades to be worked on
So a next phase in the build-up is going to be to get qualified for the Champions League, if we can manage that the money would allow us to get the last and final upgrades to become an Austrian wonderkidfactory
Good job ! Dammhyan is really good. Good luck in the UCL !

Season 9 Summary
A frankly wild season where giant strides were taken on and off the pitch.
____________________________
Domestic form
An excellent season saw us qualify for the championship group for the first time. This meant that we got to play 10 games against the 5 best teams in the league and the chance to play in Europe the following year.
We managed to secure 4th position and guarantee our second consecutive season of European football and the much needed injection of funds that comes with it.
I feel like we've firmly established ourselves amongst the best of the rest in the league. Club Brugge, Anderlecht, and KRC Genk are by the far best teams and then there's little to choose between the next 3/4.
We lost in the round of 32 in the cup to lower-league opposition after some heavy squad rotation.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Europe
Our first foray into continental football was an eventful one as we made it to the semi-finals, even knocking out favourites Crystal Palace along the way.
After a quite ridiculous 18 games, we narrowly lost to eventual winners AZ 1-0 on aggregate.
We were very unlucky with injuries towards the end of the season. At one stage, right around the time of the semi-finals, we were missing up to 8 players including both of our goalkeepers.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Youth
For the first time in the save, we had players in the NXGN list. 2 of our boys made the top 50.
Intake
6 elite talents were signed but this was the least excited I've been about an intake since we started. We'll see how they pan out.
Young midfielder Antonio Valdes was considered best in class.
Here he is 6 months later.
I decided to change it up and hire a new HOYD.
He's a model citizen who also has extensive knowledge in Czechia and Slovakia, hopefully we'll get a few kids through from here.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Finances
This is where we took massive strides this season.
We made almost 12m in prize money, mainly due to our run to the Europa Conference League semi-finals.
We made 4.2m from a sell-on clause we had in place.
We sold a squad player for 3.5m with a 40% sell-on clause added.
All of this meant upgrades galore! Our training facilities were upgraded twice, youth facilities once, and youth recruitment once. Leaving our infrastructure looking like this:
I'm hoping all this, coupled with our new HOYD results in some juicy intakes.
I also earned my Continental C coaching qualification.
Our projected finances are looking good. Have we finally overcome the bug?

You are really doing a great job and giving my the itch to stop complaining that Belgium is not possible to play.. just like @Daddy never complained Good luck both and maybe i will join (again).

Íþróttafélag Reykjavíkur (ÍR)
So, I decided to start a new save. I liked my time in Czech Republic, but I feel it’s time to move back to Iceland. A country I just really love managing in. As some of you may know, I had a great time in Iceland back in FM17 with ÍR. It was the first time I tried a youth only save, although I bought academy players back at some point. You can read about it here.
We won the Europa League with academy players only. And a couple of years later we won the Champions League, but I decided to buy players after the EL win. I have so many sweet memories of that save. I even remember a lot of player-names.And I feel it’s time to try it again, but now with the official rules of the challenge. In real life the club won promotion to Lengju deildin in 2024. So if I want to try this challenge with ÍR, I have to do it know. So that's why I started this save. I created the kits, based on the in-game club colours.
The first look at the squad is that I have 25 players to my disposal, with an average age of 23.47. So it’s quite a young squad. Looking at our current best players, then Ásgeir Börkur Ásgeirsson, Stefán Þór Pálsson, Arnór Gauti Úlfarsson and Alexander Kostic are the most interesing players. I found for almost all our my players their real picture.
It looks like we even got some talented youngsters, who can hopefully develop into very good players for us. In particular Róbert Elís Hlynsson, Olsi Tabaku and Bergvin Fannar Helgason.I'm a couple of months into the first season, and just got my first Youth Intake Preview from my HoYD Gunnar Már Guðmundsson.
i love it ! good luck

Promotion d'Honneur: A very good first season in the highest tier, we finished on a ECL spot but if the cup winner was not the nr 1 or 2, i would not participate in Europe.. I lost the cup final against Swift so we won't make our European debut yet.Coupe de Luxembourg: We reached our first Cup final but lost against Swift Hesperange in a very balanced final.
U19: Our U19 finished 4th in their first season in group 1.

I was able to introduce two youth player and i am planning to do the same next season. Older players like Bebé and Mokrani will stay for another season.
Veselcic had a nother great season with 14 goals and 7 assists. He was my forward in the first season and is playing on the left wing this season. He is actually too good for Luxembourg league though so I expect they will try to buy him.Molitor 24B was the first academy player to cap for U21 Luxembourg.

We had a good bingo year , academy player(s) that reached 50 games, a youth intake player with +45 attributes average but the most surprising was the fact that we had produced the most players who played at the highest level in luxembourg. and that after two seasons. Says maybe more about the other teams' squad management.Next Season
A lot will change in the senior squad with integration of many young players who are not actually ready. The only realistic goal is not to be relegated next season.

A good intake with three or four hot prospects. Determination and personality wise not a good intake.Spoiler
With Schroeder 26C we get a potential first team DC. Lima 26E is a good MC prospect and with Gonçalves 26F we have another DC option. Braun 26G has some good attributes like finishing and agression so he good push for a senior squad spot. With India we can check the Asia box.

Promotion d'Honneur: We had a very good first season with a long battle for first place (the winner gets 225k prize money, the runner-up gets 100k). but the top two and effective promotion was a fairly quick affair. At the end, we lost a couple of times.Coupe de Luxembourg: We reached the fifth round but first tier Mondorf was too strong.
U19: Our U19 won the Luxembourger U19 group 2 in a superior way.
First XI| Overall Best XI| Transfers| Youth Intake 2025
A lot of work for next season, a few senior players will leave or are already no better as some youth intake players. So the squad will change a lot .
Everything in luxembourg (outside of level players and intakes) seems fine to play this challenge. There are no homegrown rules in this DB which makes it easier but a player is suspended for every two yellow cards, this causes me to have to replace three, four players every match. I am a fan of regular first eleven , relatively little rotation but this does make it very difficult and also at highest level it will be like this. The fact that we received by far the most yellow cards in the league is not helping.
Bebé had a great season as our DR but he faced a nasty injury after the winter break. Our first two U19 internationals

Season 3
Division 2 Champions!
A perfect storm of a season where everything came together to see us crowned champions.
Our demotion to semi-pro may have been a blessing in disguise. With less training, our injury record was great, and our running costs were much lower. No u18 competition also helped in this regard.
The title was never really in doubt and we were quite dominant all season.
Our professional status was immediately restored upon our title win.
I expect next season to be a struggle but we only need to finish 5th bottom to avoid the relegation group.

Youth Intake
An excellent intake was promised and delivered.
6 elite talents arrived and although the personalities weren't great, it should put us in a good place when the real players start to retire.
Young Ghanaian midfield Boateng was considered best in class.

Other Stuff
No transfers in.
I'm now a National B rated coach.
Our junior coaching and recruitment are both now excellent.
Ticket prices went up again. Our season ticket holders should double next season.
Our board decided to expand the stadium at a cost of 4.4m. I'm not sure where the money is coming from though because it isn't showing in the overall balance or debts and loans.?

I couldn't find my rhythm in Iceland so time for a country I've never managed before... Luxembourg !
Since last year @WhiteCat33 got really far in Luxembourg with ASL Porto, I was interested in Luxembourg. I live relatively close to Luxembourg myself and that combined with a fast league structure, many nationalities and a kind of build a nation save, a lot of boxes are ticked.
Luxembourg ranked 100th in the FIFA world ranking. They have a population of +- 660k and the capital is Luxembourg City .
SpoilerLuxembourg is a developed country with an advanced economy and one of the world's highest GDP (PPP) per capita as per IMF and World Bank estimates. The nation's levels of human development and LGBT equality are ranked among the highest in Europe. The city of Luxembourg was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 due to the exceptional preservation of its vast fortifications and historic quarters. Luxembourg is a founding member of the European Union,OECD, the United Nations, NATO, and the Benelux. It served on the United Nations Security Council for the first time in 2013 and 2014.

FC Luxembourg City is a Luxembourg football club from Hamm, a district of the capital Luxembourg. Matches are played at the Estádio do Cents. I had to holiday one season and Luxembourg City got promoted from the third tier.
On 14 May 2020, the members of FC Blue Boys Muhlenbach and RM Hamm Benfica agreed to a fusion between the two clubs. The new club took the name FC RM Hamm Benfica and took Blue Boys Muhlenbach's place in the Nationaldivisioun in the 2020/21 season.
The name Benfica had been causing controversy for some time. The name and logo are based on that of Portuguese club SL Benfica. Partly because of a threatened claim for damages from the Portuguese, it was decided to change the name to FC Luxembourg City in 2022. Since Hamm Benfica received a lot of Portuguese and Cape Verdean players through the intakes, I now expect the same at luxembourg City
Squad
17 potential senior players and already added 6 academy players from the first intake. Some of them could make the first eleven already. First need to sort out a lot of players with an ending or no contract. There seem to be no homegrown rules in luxembourg in this DB. We also have one pre arranged transfer, i could not cancel this one since i took over at 21/6.

It was a season straight out of a movie.
The season started reasonably well, considering our team, with solutions for all positions, we were gaining points especially in home games.
We were always in the top 10, until in the final months, things started to change, we climbed the rankings and entered the fight for promotion.
The last game was frantic, in the 89th minute Wurzbuger drew 3-3 and we were far from our dream, but then in the 90+1th minute, the winning goal and Wurzbuger were out of the race. What a crazy game.
Financially, this club is a leaky boat! We pay our players too much and I can't get offers for some players either.
The club had elections, but it was the old management that allowed me to get my National C licence.DFB Pokal - We didn't enter the cup this year.´
Under 19 - Despite not having a large squad or the desired quality, we came 4th in the Regionalliga Nordost.
Youth Intake
Since the club doesn't have the necessary infrastructure, I can't ask for much in terms of youngsters. It wasn't a bad intake, with 3 youngsters who could make the first team.
As good FM news always has a catch, here's my......
