  1. U could I have found the RMDs can work well in both mid and high blocks this year. High blocks are challenging necessitating the use of work ball into box and you will need either a Mez\WB comb or WB/W combo on the opposite flank.
  2. I am assuming he is referring to training a player in a new position. Perhaps should have made it clear at the outset. Plus there is a positional, duty, and role familiarity component for training a player in any position. If a player already knows the position there is no impact to positional familiarity, if a player has never played the position before then his lack of positional familiarity will lead to mistakes. How quickly he learns said positon depends on versatility. Pretty easy to verify in game with the existing UI.
  3. Yes it still does team mentality is basically a risk modifier, each role and duty will be affected in some way when team mentality is adjusted.
  4. A trait is a tendency to do something more of or less of. It doesn’t mean he will do it all the time. Similarly with some player instructions like shoot more often. A host of factors affects players decision making stuff like mentality your other team instructions, a players attributes. In this case the UI is telling you there may sometimes be a conflict, this player has shoots from distance, so if he does get into a good goalscoring position that PI you have given him might have less of an effect than on a player who doesn’t have that PI. Will it create unhappiness? No, playing someone in a position/role they are not trained for is more likely to create unhappiness, that unhappiness could blend into the calculations for the match engine. Unhappiness may play a small part in the overall calculation since it needs to factor in a host of other things too that take more importance. The game does operate on a degree of ambiguity because human behaviour is essentially unpredictable. Hence why we have instructions in the game people want more clarity on. When you give a player an instruction, there is meant to be that degree of uncertainty. Will he follow the instructions? Right or wrong that’s been the game since 98.
  5. Team fluidity is largely only used by the AI to set up formations with respect to AI managers attributes. It’s of no significant value to human created tactics and only serves to illustrate the balance of attack, defend and support duties. None of what @cmonreds said is relevant anymore. The last time fluidity played any role was back in the early days of the tactical creator when it was useful to explain how the balance of duties would impact transitions. An official response from SI has been made multiple times on fluidity on the forums which support what I say, and these can be discovered using the forum search tools. It doesn’t impact how traits work etc, that’s purely conjecture.
  6. In the lower leagues, I once had a similar situation. Older players leaving etc. Fact is there are several limitations a lot depends on whether you are a professional club or not. Amateur clubs get six sessions at best so development is limited. I tend t.I just move them into the senior team and given them game time. Hardly any club loans them and there aren’t enough competitions for them. So I pick the best around 3-4 add the to them senior squad and bring them through, it’s really the only solution until my youth team gets into proper youth competitions. To be frank, if you get rapid promotions those players end up being discarded in a few seasons.
  7. If you want him to learn a new position, train him in that position. How quickly he learns that position depends on his hidden attribute versatility.
  8. Your ability to find wonderkids or players with 4.5 stars minimum depends on various factors. And whether they are interested in joining will depend on the status of your club. I haven’t had any issues finding any 5 star players. 1. Leagues loaded. The more you have loaded as playable the bigger the pool. If you include nations where the level of game importance is high then your chances of finding these kind of players go up. 2. Your scouting budget, the bigger the budget the bigger the pool. 3. Your scouting network, the more scouts with varied nation knowledge, the broader your scouting knowledge. Other sources - Scouting youth competitions, tracking NxtGen players list which always provides a list of top 50 youth players. This alone sets your base. Then we have 5 stars coming from your academy, this depends on: 1. Your status as a club and the league/nation you are playing in. The higher the game importance and your status the more likely you are to attract players to your academy. 2. Your managers nationality also impacts the nationality of some of the wonderkids you get. As a Singaporean I had one rare instance of 4 star player from Singapore. 3. Youth recruitment by far the most important for academies. The bigger your youth recruitment the larger your pool. 4 Facilities, quality of coaching also play a part. 5. Finally the personality of your youth coaches and the HOYD and their attributes. These influence the personality and type of youth players. I have never had an issue with finding/producing 4.5 stars and higher. Five star players are a bit rare but I seem to find at least 1 every season. (17 years old or younger). If anything it’s become even easier, perhaps too easy on later FM editions to find wonderkids.
  9. There aren’t enough ball carriers in that system. I have one similar, I suggest using BPDs to bring the ball forward and playing the system on balanced mentality.
  10. If you use a halfback he drops between the two central defenders during buildup. My advice is having ball playing defenders either side of him to help bring the ball out. If you play with a DLP or a RPM they will drop deep to help with the build out from the back but if you use an AP(A) he might be too far ahead as a pass receiver. The RPM and AP will move into the AM tier so you could have issues during build out.
  11. I am only interested in my morale and happiness, so i ignore praising players and it has never harmed my clubs morale or player performances.
  12. You should also link the team detailed stats, ie. from goals scored - how many from corners, IDFK, FK and Penalties. I have scored 62 goals with Gloucester and 37% have come from setpieces, that doesn’t even include throw ins since it isn’t tracked. Goals per game might be fine for the league but the source of the goals is something I am finding a bit off. I am no expert on lower league statistics and I am curious if that number is realistic.
  13. United start the season owing 300m in transfer fees to be paid https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-united-finances-debt-glazers-28038776
  14. If you do a search on the forums you will find SI commenting about the impact of teamtalks. You will also find plenty of points of view about the efficiacy of team talks that diverges from yours. And I will stop cluttering this thread and leave it at that.
  15. I also later said that this could be UI related and could very well mean nothing in the grander scheme of things. Perhaps it helps if you follow the whole line of thought. So you still want to harp on about how incorrect other peoples points of view are?
  16. If you start thinking only your opinion matters that is disrespectful to other people. While I said it may be an issue I also added it might be a UI issue and if you can’t accept someone else’s point of view, don’t clutter the thread with snide remarks.
  17. In terms of impact on player performances, team talks just don’t do enough for me to warrant any kind of attention. I don’t care how my players react, I’ve even intentionally thrown a fit, berated the boys when we are 3 goals up and praised them when they are losing my 2 goals, and then turn things around with tactical changes. While this could be as simple as a UI issue, there are still bigger fish to fry, personally too many mid table sides have conversion rates that are just 4-5% above where I think they should be and at the lower end we need to see bottom of the table sides closer to 5-6% conversion rates. I’m pretty sure the super fast development of some high PA youths will be addressed. Players complaining about not enough players or a certain role could be addressed too. Can’t attest to the registration rules of leagues as I am unfamiliar with that.
  18. There is no such thing as team talks “re-setting” as soon as the match resumes or starts.
  19. Playing a back 3 system with Gloucester and essentially steamrolling past the sides now after a dodgy start to the league where I lost the two opening games. While I agree that conversion rates are high, I love the fact that I need to adjust small little things to counter opposing sides levelling against me after leading with a 4 goal margin. I wouldn’t set up my formation like the OPs cos it’s just asking so for trouble. As an underdog I get sides taking the game to me and it requires me to actively manage my cross management and traps. And I also need to target specific opposition players via OIs. The OPs backline set up had me scratching my head, the stopper CD combination is a bad idea that will most likely lead to premature pulling of the defence out of position. Then there is the use of low crosses which is really only useful when you can camp for extended periods of time, then we have the central midfield combination that has the potential of being out of shape when you have consolidated the midfield. With the higher than normal conversion rates for mid table sides, this tactic is gonna be castrated by halftime. I am sorry but I need to call a spade a spade. Before one leaps and generalises that all back 3 systems are dead one should step back and ask if the system they are using is decent to begin with.
  20. Lol I took a star player didn’t like his complaints around lack of playing time, dumped him into the B squad for half a season. He openly resents me, then when I bring him back play him in a couple of matches, he signs the contract I want him to sign, and he still resents me. Player interactions can be fun, there are certainly bugs like asking for roles to be filled that are already filled as part of contractual terms, and that’s only a problem if you fall for the need to include them. I never do and I never care how my player interact. As long as the club meets its goals, I will rather shoot a player before I release him to another club if our goals are not met yet. The game has bigger issues than interactions. If players open the Pandora’s box that is player interactions, they better be prepared to deal with the fallout. If they don’t want to deal with it, ignorance is bliss. Unhappy players are part and parcel of the game. Anyone remember the story of Dan James from Swansea?
  21. A famous manager once said there will always be a third of your squad who will always be unhappy regardless of your performances.
  22. Yes if I am not mistaken. SI are currently reviewing all pkms submitted via bug reports. They reset before control has been established.
  23. Like I said before I can’t really help if you insist that u are doing it the right way.
