  1. Have a good look in here http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/408495-FM2015-Guide-How-to-Extract-Default-Files-amp-Understanding-File-Structure It takes abit of time to digest it but if you follow the instructions you will have a much better understanding of the skinning process. Worked wonders for me.
  2. Great news, thanks again. I appreciate that you are kind of guessing in the dark a bit, but now I know that there's at least a chance of a decent improvement I think I'll go for it. I'm after a more immersive game world and just wanted at least some assurance that I was targeting the most appropriate upgrade. Much appreciated. EDIT: The trigger has been pulled and it should be here tomorrow morning. Immersion here I come...
  3. Thanks Welshace. My game play experience isn't too bad now to be fair. The upgrade can be had for around the £80-100 mark which is fairly reasonable. I realise it is a very subjective issue as one man's fine is another man's slow. If I were to say that I am happy with how my current processor handles 8-10 playable leagues, is it possible to have a rough guess at how many more I could add to that with the new processor and keep the same-ish game speed? A couple more? Twice as many? Or is that just impossible to quantify?
  4. Hi folks My current processor is an AMD A4-5300 3.4GHz. Would I get a decent performance boost (more playable leagues) in FM16 if I upgraded to an AMD A10 5700 3.4GHz (which I think is about the best processor that I can use with my ASRock FM2A55M-DGS R2.0 motherboard)? Many thanks.
  5. Excellent question. Some clarification and/or guidance in this area could surely save a fair bit of wasted game time. I hope answers are forthcoming.
  6. Whether or not tutoring reflects the real world (and I agree that it doesn't) there is still a discussion to be had about how it actually works in the game we are all currently playing. At least that is what the OP seems to have intended. With that in mind does anybody have any insight relating to how you can tell if players can tutor BEFORE you actually buy them? We used to know what the precise requirements were, so what has changed?
  7. I certainly agree that tutoring should be more realistic and evolve in the ways suggested above. However, I spent a good while conversing with the bug team during fm15 about inconsistencies and lack of clarity in the module which led me to ponder if anyone really had a good grip on the mechanics at all. There seems to be something under the hood that has a bearing on tutoring eligibility from both sides of the relationship that neither SI nor the wider community has been able to investigate, reliably reproduce and shed light upon. Here are a couple of the old thread links in case anybody is interested - http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/407085-Have-the-tutoring-conditions-changed http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/412458-Tutoring-eligibility-changing-Bug-Reviewed
  8. Is that how the established known parameters relating to tutoring came about in the first place or did SI let us know specifically about the various criteria e.g. age, rep, squad status etc.?
  9. Have a look at the most recent couple of videos entitled Mastering the Match Engine on Rashidi's (FM tactics legend) You Tube channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWUCWx5HNWSuzwGxwVczGPQ
  10. I accept that some people consider using bought-in tutors exploitative and that's fine. However, the system is in place nonetheless and if it's there then we should have an explanation of how it works. The parameters of the tutor-tutee relationship, in terms of who should be able to tutor and be tutored (not whether it would be successful or not as that's a different matter), used to be clear but now there is a unexplained element. I have been asking for an explanation of this mystery parameter since fm15. Please SI?
  11. I have posted on this issue on numerous occasions whilst playing FM15 so I am pretty disappointed to see it unchanged in FM16. The flip side of this issue was that you could not tell if a young player would be able to be tutored BEFORE you signed him as some of them immediately had a status suggesting they were already too established in the first team to be tutored by even key players. I don't know yet if this has changed in the new game. I love player development and I don't mind the changes so long as I can understand them and react to them. Can someone from SI please explain this properly?
  12. Working from memory, you need a specific U18s goalkeeping coach and physio, that much I can remember - you may need others, not sure.
  13. It's not just you - http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/416815-Can-t-Continue-After-Full-Time ...but there doesn't seem to be an answer.
  14. Have a look in here - http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/416871-Young-players-cannot-be-tutored-due-to-senior-squad-role-help
  15. Thanks again Michael, that's exactly what I was after. EDIT - sorted and shirts now look great (still haven't got those nice rounded corners though... hmmm???) Cheers
  16. Thanks for the reply. I think I'm a bit lost. I'll show you what I've managed so far to try and be a bit clearer. I followed your example and copied over the "client object biopic left to right.xml" from the Retro skin and then lowered the picture size to 120x120 as well as changing the picture alignment from top, left to bottom, left. Here are a couple of examples of what I get - I'm fine with that apart from the misalignment of the pictures and the logos. It seems that changes only apply to one image and not to the other. If I could line those up I'd be happy, but I have tried everything that seems logical in my limited knowledge and failed. Any ideas? Or should I approach it differently? Thanks again, in advance, as any and all help is much appreciated. EDIT - SORTED. Your reply got me thinking and tinkering again. The misalignment seems to be associated with the auto-sizing table and the logo/picture being positioned in relation to that. I couldn't get it to work as I'd like so I went for a different approach - shrunk the pictures and put them top right alongside the name with the tables underneath - an ok workaround. Cheers.
  17. Hi, is there a simple way to reduce the size of the 'client object' boxes/photos/tables in order to maximise the space for the inbox content above? It seems daft to have to scroll the important stuff whilst the boxes occupy the bottom half of the inbox screen. I have tried following the measures above but have run into problems with the sizes and alignments of the pictures and tables. Ideally I would like to resize/shrink whilst changing as little of the formatting as possible. It would be great if someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks
  18. Hi, does anybody know what file(s) control the shape and texture of the shirt box (the one with the number in)? I would like to give it some nicely rounded corners and make it more fabric-like. I have seen skins that achieve this effect, such as the Retro skin, but I'm struggling to work out how it has been managed from the player personal details and kit icon xml files. I expected to find the files pointing to graphics files that could then be physically edited, like the titlebar, sidebar etc. but that doesn't appear to be the case. Thanks in advance.
  19. Have a look in here (it is related to both tutors' and tutees' status/roles) - http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/416871-Young-players-cannot-be-tutored-due-to-senior-squad-role-help It seems that there are certainly a few problems with tutoring that the bug team are currently working on - fingers crossed.
  20. Spot on Michael, I've sorted the player status thing now. It is very useful and looks great the way the animation pushes the subsequent icons out. Still working on the table. May consider a different approach. Great advice, many thanks.
  21. Thanks wkdsoul, very helpful:thup: 1. Now sorted. 2. I've got the stats panel in and have had to do some resizing of the columns. However, I haven't got a clue how to entirely remove the columns I don't want. As it stands I've reduced their width to 1 but they are still visible. How do i remove them completely? (I've had a look at the player additional stats panel as I guessed it might contain the solution, but I got a little lost). 3. I've managed to get the stacked player status icon into the action bar. Is it possible to have all the relevant status icons (Rsv, Inj, Loa etc.) laid out horizontally rather than having the button stacked as it currently is? Here is the code for the panel - <panel> <layout class="fit_children_attachment" alignment="horizontal" offset="0" gap="0" /> <layout class="arrange_vertical_attachment" layout="fill" gap="0" offset="0" /> <layout class="centre_in_parent_attachment" alignment="horizontal" inset="0" layout_children="true" /> <widget class="player_status_all_button" id="psAB" file="player status all profile"> <layout class="centre_in_parent_attachment" alignment="horizontal" /> <record id="object_property"> <integer id="get_property" value="Pnfa" /> </record> </widget> </panel> Thanks again folks.
  22. Here are the next couple of questions. Hope you can help... 1. How do I force the personality (Fairly Determined) to use the next line rather than cut words off? I must be using multiline incorrectly. Here is the code as it currently stands - <!--player personality row--> <container default_height="30" minimum_height="30" priority="3"> <layout class="arrange_horizontal_attachment" layout="-1,-1,-1" offset="0" gap="0" /> <layout class="stick_to_sides_attachment" alignment="vertical" inset="0" layout_children="true" /> <!--player personality--> <widget class="personality_label" spec="text" style="bold" colour="yellow1" id="peRs" size="11" alignment="bottom,left" multiline="true"> <translation id="hint" translation_id="247713" type="use" value="Personality" /> <record id="object_property"> <integer id="get_property" value="PPst" /> </record> </widget> <!--player media handling--> <widget class="media_handling_label" spec="text" style="bold" colour="yellow3" id="mhst" size="10" alignment="middle" auto_size="vertical" multiline="true"> <translation id="hint" translation_id="291327" type="use" value="Media Handling Style" /> <record id="object_property"> <integer id="get_property" value="Pghm" /> </record> </widget> <!--reputation--> <widget class="reputation_label" spec="text" style="bold" colour="yellow1" id="repU" size="11" alignment="bottom,right" multiline="true"> <record id="object_property"> <integer id="get_property" value="Pcrp" /> </record> </widget> </container> 2. How would I go about putting something like Bergkamp's Stats Panel in the section currently set to Match Ratings? 3. I've managed to change the 2 of the extra details in the action bar to CA and PA stars. Would it be possible to change the value box to something like assistant/scout view of best position, home grown status or av. rating? Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks
  23. Great, thanks wkdsoul, you've just made me realise I didn't have a proper background image in place to overwrite! Whilst I've got you I'd also like to say thanks for the idea and inspiration to make my own sidebar icons (mine are MUCH simpler than yours though:thup:).
