  1. @crusadertsarthis question isn't about this tactic in specific, but it reflects what is my thought, because your best players have an attack duty (Porro, Pote aka Pedro Gonçalves and Marcus). Do you think that an attack duty should be given to the most gifted and technical players, so they can expend their football at the fullest capacity?
  2. Counter attacking play is really good sometimes, but with a very high tempo passes are misplaced sometimes and good scoring chances turn into dangerous chances by the opposition. Defensive shape could be better I think, but my defenders are not the best in the world too. But yes, I guess I concede more than I'd like.
  3. Do you guys also take a look at teams average age? I believe most of them are in 30's? I still play FM21 and some of the best teams are on 26-27's (long term save)
  4. Thanks for your reply. I've been playing with this tactic yeah. I noticed the the much higher tempo sometimes is too much for my players, but that is the style I want to implement, so I try to keep it, even though it leads to some mistakes. Like you've said, I make sure that my supporting players have not only a reasonable work rate and teamwork, but also bravery. I find pace more important to the attacking roles and BBM. Regarding a right side player push further up, you mean a attacking duty? Even though the WB is on support, he also has the trait to"get forward", so I think he still get far forward, and he really has to, to provide width on that side, becasue the WM sits narrower. Also I don't like too much to play with an attacking role like FB(a) or WB(a) as it tells the player to cross too much and I want to avoid that. I also want to keep the WM on a support duty so he can be a better supply to the PF One thin that I've been noticing though is that the left side sometimes gets too congestes, with the IW(a), BBM(s) (he also has the traits to "get forward" and "gets into the area", so he is really aggressive) and DLF(s) compete for the same space in some situations. That's why I have now the IW(a) with "stay wider" PI. I could switch the strikers roles, but then the PF(a) would be on the same side as the IW(a) and that would bring problems too, as the IW needs space and that space would be limited with the PF on the same side. I really like the 442 formations and I really hope I can make this work for this long term save, not only that tactic but the playing style I want to implement.
  5. I really like this stuff, thanks for posting. Pedro Porro's tackling is not fantastic but it's not bad, 14 it's a reasonable attribute. Yes he's lacking positioning, but as long as you have someone to cover him, I believe he'll make up for is amazing attacking attributes and speed. And your false 10 work rate it's not that bad either.
  6. Hello, Wonder if you see anything wrong with this tactic, to play it on counter attack style? PI's: WB(s) - Stay Wider BBM - Move into Channels WM(s) - Sit Narrower DLF(s) - Stay wider
  7. So its something like this: Outside of your defensive third its the pressing traps; inside your defensive third its the invite or prevent crosses?
  8. Yes there is, there is the stop/invite crosses and there is the trap inside/outside. My question is, if it's not basically the same? I'm probably wrong but I see them both as defending narrow or wide
  9. I don't have or played FM23 but I'm confused about 2 instructions. Isn't trap inside/outside similar to stop/invite crosses? The old defensive width setting?
  10. I signed a striker who can perfectly fit my team, problem is that he likes to comes deep, but I still decided to buy him. Fingers crossed so he can unlearn that
  11. Isn't always been that easy to sign young promosing players? Or is that any FM version more balanced than others where for example big clubs are more aggressive signing them?
  12. When you guys find a player that perfectly suits your style by the attributes and personality he has, but with 1 unwanted trait, do you still sign him, perhaps hoping that he can unlearn it?
  13. @crusadertsar did you try to play with "invite crosses" selected? I guess that's the same as narrow defensive width? I think it's logical for that type of football.
  14. How conflicting is it to tell the keeper to distribute to centre backs and also throw it long?
  15. What does poor heading really means? That the player don't know how to head the ball? A poor technique when doing it?
  16. A central defender with high jumping reach but poor heading, does that put you off or would you still consider that player?
  17. Sorry if people already posted about this, but does someone has, at this point, opinions about the long term AI squad development? Is it better than before and as they promised? What about the AI managers, are they smarter and harder to play against? Thanks.
  18. I don't go as far as attributeles, but I play with stars instead of attributes and also no CA/PA stars, just scout reports. Also no player search and I leave scouting to scout chief. I try to make it more challenging by playing that way.
  19. Playing in a lower block with a 442, how importat is in your opinion for the 2 midfielders to have good positioning, bravery and tackling (even more in this case, as there's only 2 midfielders in the middle) ?
  20. I play 2 upfront. The creative one has the instruction to stay wider and roam, while the finisher one plays as a PF with no instructions. He's playing on the side of his natural foot. Almost reaching the end of the season and he scored 32 so far, so cant really be mad about it.
