  1. This is a very good point! I have always been baffled by the audacity of the AI demanding I pay 100% wages and a loan fee for their players, but then offering 0% wages and £0 fee when they want mine.
  2. I'm not saying anything other than coincidence, but this is the first time I have played since the minor update and man my team have fallen off a cliff! In 15 games I had only lost once and only conceded more than 1 goal in a game once, now I have lost 2 and drawn once in 3 games, conceding 2 in each of the games.....gulp!
  3. Feel that Hannibal's teamwork and work rate need a big upgrade from what they currently are (both 13). I am a Birmingham City fan and I haven't seen anyone with the energy and tireless running of Hannibal since the Robbie Savage days! They guy doesn't stop running and chasing down. I would have said they should be around 16 or 17 if not more.
  4. Don't know where I should post this, but Hannibal's teamwork and work rate need a huge buff. I am a Birmingham City fan and I haven't seen anyone with energy and tireless running like Hannibal since Robbie Savage. Currently both at 13 in game, should be more like 17/18
  5. I too have been playing since the Championship Manager days and I play the game exactly the way that you do. I never look at the data hub, squad planner etc etc I literally click continue through most gameweeks until I get to the match itself. If I had to guess at what % of features in FM I use I would say it is below 20%.
  6. Be interested to hear/see what tactics you are playing. Not saying the issue you have come across is because of your tactics, but in my Birmingham City save my team is ultra boring and never score or concede more than 1 a game pretty much. Wondering if I have managed to stumble across a tactic that negates this issue.
  7. Played about half a season with Birmingham City so feel like I am finally in a place to give some feedback. Now I don't want SI or anyone else to see this as a dig, as it isn't intended that way, but I feel that this years iteration is probably the most underwhelming for some time. FYI I play my matches on commentary only as I am a busy Dad these days so try to get through as many seasons as I can in as short a time possible, so match engine changes I can't really comment on, the rest of you are doing a good job of that. Squad planner is inferior to the squad depth of previous versions in my opinion. It just looks messy to me and although I like the concept (works nicely in the MLB The Show games if anyone plays those) I don't think it has been well executed. The new agent discussion options and press conference questions are much of a muchness, there is only so much you can do with that and only so many times you can see the new options before you are bored of them like all the other questions. The new scouting also, whilst I like the concept, still seems a bit messy. Maybe I am just not used to it yet but despite giving pretty clear and simple instructions my scouts come back with very limited offerings. Maybe as I get more used to it I will appreciate it a bit more. I do like the new matchday graphics, looks really nice for the Championship and Carabao Cup, well done on that one SI. If I ever make it to the champions league I am sure that looks good too. But overall I genuinely could be just playing FM22 still ,there is that little difference between this years and last. My final say, which I have said before and about many different games not just FM, I truly believe that sports games should work in 2 year cycles. First year is big, updated features, maybe new graphics, animations all that jazz and you pay full price for the game, 2nd year is updated database, kits, leagues etc and you charge a reduced amount (say £15 for football manager). Probably will never happen as it isn't a viable business plan for someone like SI, but it could be something to think about in order to get truly updated versions rather than re-skinning an existing feature or changing a green apple for a red apple (same thing just looks different). As always I am enjoying the game, I always do enjoy Football Manager and value for money it is probably my best purchase year in year out given how much I play it. Keep having fun everyone, and all the best!
  8. Not sure if this is intended or not, but scouted a bunch of players on the transfer list and every single scout report comes back showing transfer value as "not for sale"
  9. Hoping someone can help here....Can you change these yourself in the game? Or do you need to download a skin? I have never done it before, never really thought about it but having read this thread I wouldn't mind giving it a go.
  10. A big thanks to all the SI staff for releasing the beta today, I look forward to kicking off my annual Birmingham City save after work!
  11. I wasn't going to pre-order this year but I bottled it and ended up doing so. I don't even know why I did as I am currently really enjoying my FM22 Birmingham City beta save that is still going strong!
  12. I haven't experienced any major bugs in this years version. I am still playing my beta save. FM21 there was a huge bug though where I got promoted first season to the premier league with Birmingham City and first season in the league the board wanted me to qualify for champions league and win the FA Cup etc even though my clubs original vision wasn't to even challenge to get promoted to the premier league until about my 3rd or 4th season. I was somehow 7th in about Feb and the board sacked me, I was livid!
  13. This is one of the least played versions of FM for me in a long time, not because I didn't enjoy it, just because life took over. With that said, I started with my team Birmingham City on the first day the beta came out and stuck with them since! Only managed to get through 5 seasons, but got promoted in my 2nd season, then came 16th, 14th and 14th, currently 10th in January of my 6th season. Enjoyed what I have played, just haven't been able to play enough!
  14. Yeah, I am edging ever closer to 40 and with a full time job and family it is a lot more difficult to get a lot of FM time in, however a couple things that I have done to speed it up and get through more seasons is to firstly change the option in settings that limits the number of times the game stops for news articles etc when you press continue, and secondly I save a load of time playing on commentary only. I know this isn't for everyone as they like to see their tactics play out, but I am not a big fan of the match engine and I get on fine from a performance aspect not watching the games, so that has meant I can play probably twice as many games per night/week than when I was watching highlights.
  15. Something I have really enjoyed, and I think could be implemented in FM (probably not what they should improve the most so I am going off topic slightly) is the way Out of the Park Baseball (OOTP) deal with player attributes. There is much more focus on assessing the players data and in-game stats rather than just looking at a players attribute ratings. So whilst they do still have attribute ratings, these are determined by each teams coaching staff rather than being the number the game gives them. So for example my coaching team may rate Salah's finishing as 17 but another team's coaches/scouts may rate it as 19, so whilst you do get an idea of how good a player's attributes are, you have to make your decisions on how they actually perform in the matches. OOTP has a ridiculous amount of stats you can delve into, and I think with the addition of the data hub in FM this year it would be quite interesting to see something similar adopted in FM.
  16. I am the opposite of most people so far in this thread in that I hate when I get too far into a save and all of the real players start to retire and I only have regens. Saying that though, I don't really have time nowadays to make it that far before the next iteration has been released and I move on to that haha
  17. Sorry if this has already been covered, but just wondered what is your favourite save on FM....EVER? I have two that spring to mind, the first was Birmingham City on FM06, can't remember how many years into the save I was but I remember having Beckham playing centre midfield for me alongside Veron, with Lucarelli and Chevanton up top....great days. The second was my Ajax save on FM19. Went over 100 league games unbeaten and won the champions league a couple of times, a nice change of pace to my usual saves where I am struggling to survive relegation!
  18. I would assume it's because that's the date that all the contracts expire and you roll into the next season so there is a lot to process on that date.
  19. I agree with Ragin Cajun, for buying players I find it decent, for my own players I find it hugely annoying. On multiple occasions I have had players valued between £25-£30mil and the AI will offer ridiculous amounts like £4mil.
