  1. Burnley default Responsibilities has Technical Director responsible for: Initiate Player Signings 1st Team & U21, Negotiate Player Signings 1st Team & U 21. (I checked Pre-Game Editor) I dont know if you CAN change it. I was just looking at my save and I dont see a way for may to make the Technical Director responsible for that. I wonder if since game has Technical Director as default responsible for those tasks if it sees Director of Football AS the Technical Director? Do you get the individuals NAME or just Job Title on your assignment screen?
  2. Its become more common and I strongly suspect will become much more common. It is strongly in an ascending player's interest to see out the final year of their contact and be able to negotiate from a position of strength with the club(s) of their choosing and not having their current club dictate terms. Additionally, free transfers aren't free. A player out of contract not only has leverage picking clubs but can get a significantly higher signing bonus and or loyalty bonus, in effect receiving their own transfer fee. Add in that players of have lucrative loyalty bonuses in their existing contract, staying for the length of their contract is highly lucrative. Obviously Mbappe is at the extreme of this, but reportedly when PSG got him to sign extension last year, in addition to huge salary, they also gave him, if I recall, a reported €150m. PSG either wanted him to extend his contract again or be sold this past summer, but Mbappe would only agree to transfer if he received his full €150m loyal bonus. And why wouldn't he? Barca (at least claimed) to be outraged that Ousmane Dembele left for PSG for only €50-55m, but that low release clause is how they got him to sign a contact last summer when he was on a free. Of course players are going to do this. They'd be fools not to. Its not like the clubs stop charging for tickets, broadcasting revenues, merchandise, etc. No one forces either party to sign a contract. The best way IN GAME to keep players from seeing out their contracts is to give extensions (and invariably raises) well ahead of them approaching their final year. That will often trigger other players seeking new contracts...and such is how it goes.
  3. As a general rule I expect substantial changes to initially be a step back, sidestep at best. Followed by incremental improvement over time.
  4. While the English transfer window opens in June, the Fiscal Year/Season starts in July for financial rules compliance.
  5. I think I'd retain ANY trivial bits of information about Armstrong Inya Echezolachuku Oko-Flex. This is an all-time great name. @lomekian Is the correct spelling of last name Oko-Flex or Okoflex? I've seen it both ways.
  6. Some players are good enough to adapt style to and/or are good enough to be effective in a style they're not ideally suited to. Harry Kane is world class. "On of YOUR own," a Model Professional and highly consistent - making him even better than his attributes (at least compared to other players with similar attributes but lower consistency and Player Personality). To me he 100% worth adapting TO. Get the runs from the flanks and he'll be lethal playing them in (remember in addition to all his other qualities he's as two-footed as it gets in FM). He'll produce in and around the box in ANY Central Forward role. I'd make extending his contract a, if not THE, top priority at start of new game regardless of preferred style. I can't see the squad, board or supporters being happy about selling him. The only reason I can see even considering selling him are: 1 He won't sign contract extension (even then I'd almost certainly keep him and bet on success swaying him to extend 2 You believe IRL he's going to leave and want to "simulate" what is a plausible IRL scenario 3 Wheeling and dealing is just what you enjoy most in FM 4 You're an Arsenal supporter and just wanna screw Spurs! (now THAT I respect...in that case I suggest replacing him with Anthony Martial!)
  7. I didnt notice Reed, and I'm not sure if he did get a bump. I could be mistaken. Tim Ream rightly got a significant increase. I'd argue he's still underrated. He's been so solid and an excellent line breaking passer. Leno got a bump. Willian got a minor bump. Antonee Robinson too. Both less still underrated IMHO. Manor Solomon understandably didn't get increased, but was underrated in my mind to begin with. I think Issa Diop got a slight nerf.
  8. Fulham - Joao Palhinha, Andreas Pereira and Alexander Mitrovic all got bumps. Joao Palhinha had some traits reduced and others increased - overall a better player for his role and a real beast. Mitrovic is a slight bump. Andreas Pereira may be biggest overall increase of the 3. Quality player.
  9. I'm curious what you summer plan was, how it didn't work out, and what re-think and adjustments you made.
  10. What about other "personality" attributes like sportsmanship, temperament, controversy etc? I've always HOPED and acted as if they impact player/squad personalities (my understanding is Head of Youth Development's personality traits have some influence on personalities of regens). I dont know if any of this is true...I fear finding out it is not and losing the illusion (delusion?).
  11. Athletic Club - arguably the most fun for a long term save with the club policy of Basque only players (and youth players trained in Bilbao) in top league. Requires developing youth players into first time. Good challenge to be consistent top 4 and big challenge to win league, but is doable. Any Turkish Super Lig club - arguably the most fun league to play. The generous allotment of foreign players makes familiar players from Europe and elsewhere potential targets but the requirements to play Turkish players also gives an exotic flavor if you arent familiar with Turkish football. A real blend of exotic and familiar. Its fun as a mid to bottom table team to try to build and get up with the big boys (I used to like to play as Bursaspor, but they're in 3rd tier after being relegated last season). It is also fun to play as one of the big boys - while dominating the league is pretty easy with Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Besiktas or Trabzonspor, it is a challenge in Champions League. Union Berlin or SC Freiburg - Challenge of replicating, let alone bettering, their performance last few seasons is a challenge, especially if you're used to playing with bigger, richer clubs. Bundesliga is fun league with the Bayern juggernaut, very strong Dortmund and a half dozen or more clubs capable of making champion's league (let alone Europa) from season to season. The 18 team league also makes relegation more of a presence if you're a mid table club. Hertha Berlin - sigh, Hertha. How can die Alte Dame be so perennial underachievers. You think (___ club) is poorly run and has disastrous transfer business, you aint seen nothin' til you seen Hertha! I've enjoyed playing Hertha forever. It IS possible to make them one of the top clubs in Germany, which it would seem they SHOULD be. But they aint be. Not even close. They start with a shockingly bad squad, as they are IRL. It shouldn't be as big a challenge in FM as it is IRL to keep them up first season, but it will take some doing to close the gap on the European places. It can be done, even in first seasons, with some good, bargain signings and loans, good tactics and some good managing players. But you'll have to EARN it.
  12. Moussa Diaby is the first one that comes to my mind that hasn't been mentioned.
  13. I could be mistake (I sometimes am!) but I dont think either received an upgrade to their attributes. I dont know if their PA was changed or not however.
  14. Armstrong Okoflex! Wow, what a name. You think THAT's an impressive name, check out his full name: Armstrong Inya Echezolachuku Oko-Flex
  15. The 19 leadership is NOT random. I think it was 8 in 23.0. I wonder if it's a data entry typo, meant to be 9? 19 Leadership for a 19 year old player? Has to be a mistake...doesn't it?
  16. Wow, yet another great find Welshace. How do you do it, year after year? I couldn't help but peak at editor (no spoilers) wondering if some of those attributes were random (19 Leadership???). Even wonder if it's a data entry typo! Wow.
  17. You aint kidding about Chermiti! Rasmum Hojlund, Boga and Lookman all got upgrades at Atalanta. I think Scalvini too. Baldanzi at Empoli.
  18. Greatly appreciate the peak behind the curtain. VERY interesting about the first team CA allocation limit. Thanks Nick OGS20
  19. Licha for one. Significantly...although still not enough in my or any United supporters mind!
  20. While I am very much hoping it will be released today, I can also see the logic in "might as well wait til after Turkish window closes." This is me lowering my expectations so I wont be disappointed if (when?) it doesn't release today. It's not working...but I'm trying damnit! I'm trying!"
  21. Please update us on what happens. I'm curious about this myself. Thanks
  22. He's always seemed to be a highly ambitious (impatient? overly confident) player. Leaving Hertha for Leipzig with MUCH more competition for places and the leaving a year later for Udinese (smart move). I'm something of a Hertha fan (from playing save with them years ago - pre Windhorst era). He was the bright young prospect for Hertha...and like EVERYTHING last few years for Hertha...sigh...nothing works for Hertha. Nothing.
  23. I wound up changing the display settings on my laptop. I recently purchased a Windows 11 pc. I switched from the 2560x1440 to 1920x1080 (which was what I'd been using on my Win10 machine) After I did that I WAS/AM able to use 110%. Its still significantly smaller than I'd like, and what it seemed like it was on FM22 and previous versions, but 125% is TOO large. I haven't tried going back to 2560x1440 and using default skin since you posted that response months ago. I think I did try it in my own "trouble shooting" and it didnt work. But I really dont remember for sure. I'm sure I'm a very small niche player who'd like to have MORE options for scale like 115% for example. I know you cant do everything one wants...but that's on my wish list! Thanks for responding and helping us. Appreciate y'all Edit: 125% percent isn't available to me in 1920x1080. 110% is the max
  24. I legit hoped and actually thought it might have been yesterday. And yes, I did hope/think i was going to be today. I do not think that anymore. So...yeah, you're the only one now sanx!
  25. In few more days we'll start the FM24 beta release thread!
