Nevermind. I found an .fmf file from someone who had done this for 5 of 12 and loaded that in the editor, then adjusted from there. The reason I was having issues before was the season day update kept giving me an error. But this works for me now!

    Hi!

Can you link me to the original file? Cheers!

    Hello there!

Please @Stephen Glennon, @FrazT, @Ed Hewison, etc. When will we be able to use our B players, according to the real life rules, in FM? We have been raising this issue for at least 4 years / editions of the game, including here ate the forums, and you do not pay attention or take care of it.

It affects the game experience in Spain too hard to be forgotten.

I would like please to have a proper answer, as I am a huge fan of you from SI and buy the game since CM series.

Myself and my colleagues @aboudiaby and @noincophydr are also eagerly waiting for a decent reply, an apology from SI and a effective due date for a real correction.

    Many thanks and king regards.

SI simply don’t care about Spain... they should have added the salary cap as well. It has been a reality since 2013 in La Liga 1&2 and it is not in the game yet.

  3. The silence from Sports Interactive is total... why? Is the salary cap in Spain a sensitive subject?

My decision to stay from FM21 seems more and more like the reasonable thing to do. The creators of the game doesn't care about a gaming experience in Spain that resembles the reality for the clubs in La Liga 1 & 2.

I think that it's sad that the game is flawed. I will now log out as well and be silent just as Sports Interactive.

Seems we will never have our league rules implemented correctly.

Total salary expenses cap is key in Spain.

I think that Sports Interactive doesn’t care about their customers. I agree with you that the salary cap is essential for the correct experience of La Liga. I have decided not to install FM21 or any sequel until it’s implemented in the game.

Can you link me to these posts please? As I'm sure you've noticed, there are a lot of posts in a lot of different forums and while we're doing our best, it's easy for posts to get overlooked.

This my first post about it:

A question from me why you guys don't answer:

For us that likes to play the game as real as possible it seems very peculiar that your team have missed such an important part of the rules in La Liga. And as one user stated above - these rules regarding the salary cap have been in place since 2013...

Today La Liga has shown the wage limits of each club. This wage limit has enormous importance in the clubs planification, I believe that this should be implemented, and the Spanish new TV contract too.

I totally agree with you and I think it is very strange that it is not in the game! I have also written about it but Sportsinteractive doesn’t answer...

You could argue this, but the issue with Barcelona in real life, much like on the game is wage budget. And in turn squad depth. Now my example had a £50m sale of a first team player brought in a £8m similar replacement and 2 bits of depth for other positions for my total spend that season since i would include installments needed or addons around 30m. I also managed to sell the two auto listed players for a further £10m. But this makes no dent to the wage situation. Your sat with 3 players making up 2 thirds of the teams wage budget. None of these 3 are easy to move on, unless your happy letting Messi's contract expire, now you can give him a new contract which he's willing to take a cut, but not a cut to the level the board are willing to accept.

On top of that all these players on the bigger wages are aging the youngest of the big wages is Coutinho at 28, Griezmann is 29 and Messi on more than both combined is obviously 33. You previously mentioned a salary cap and as someone who will admit hes out of contact with the rules behind Spanish football, im unaware of this but it would suggest this is the blocker more than money at Barca although clearly in game they are leaking money faster than they can make, with the largest wage budget in the league.

How us as players, and even likely the AI will treat Barca is very different to real life. Would a player for example spend £55m on Pjanic in the summer over taking Eric Garcia for example. I think you make a good point if there is a salary cap it needs introduced but id suspect this isnt a database error. But I think from doing a season and a window with Barca, the finances are about right I'm having to sell to keep us on the straight and narrow, and thats hard because either no interest because of said wages or players dont want to go because of said wages/love of the club.

Yes, there is a salary cap in Spain. Here are the numbers for La Liga in the previous season:

    https://www.laliga.com/transparencia/gestion-economica/limite-coste-plantilla

Here is a bit more information about the numbers above and how it's calculated. The sum actually includes salaries (including taxes) for the team, staff AND the amount that can be spent on transfers:

    https://www.lalasport.com/2019/09/what-is-salary-limit-and-how-is-it.html

This should be a key addition to the game since this method actually works in contrast to UEFA's flawed FFP-system.

According to this article the main reason that Barcelona can spend so much is the previous sale of Neymar to PSG:

Please post any specific issues for Spain competitions here. This is for any issue which does not relate to data and is for areas such as:

    - Competition Rules (Leagues and Cups)
    - Disciplinary Rules
    - Transfer Rules

We would request you all to adhere to the following three point plan when posting in here:

    - State what you think is specifically wrong in your league.
    - State how you think it should be working.
    - State reasons/proof for your corrections/improvements.

Please note that specific data issues for Spain should be posted in the Database and Research Issues forum.

    Hi!
Is it a bug or have you deliberately chosen not implement the "salary cap" in La Liga 1 & 2? Here are the numbers for the previous season:

Here is a bit more information about the numbers, that includes salaries and the amount that can be spent on transfers and how it's calculated:

For those mentioning Barcelonas finances. Theres £346m in loans at start and this is in May after ive made £60m in sales, granted spent about half that bringing players back in but would suggest that Barca economically are about right imo image.png.4152bfa8ecb4027c26979f3cde51c498.png

According to the news the financial state of Barcelona is much worse than this. They couldn't even spend €15-20M this summer to bring in Eric Garica from Manchester City. They were not even allowed to sign Depay from Lyon because they couldn't afford his wages. The association of La Liga stated that Barca already had committed to spend all the money that they were allowed to spend on wages. Because of this I believe that Barca should have even less money than this. And I think it's strange that the salary cap for La Liga and La Liga 2 is not in the game...

  10. Hi!

Will the system with salary caps be introduced for La Liga and Liga 123 in FM2021? This would increase the realism and make it much more fun. If so, make it hard coded and unremovable.
