  1. I wouldn't hold my breath... MLS and A-League have been virtually unplayable for over a decade now, and they're fully licensed leagues. Gulf leagues aren't even available as official playable leagues so wouldn't expect much improvement.
  2. @Hatchyeuw I don't know, I'm trying to get the striker to score knap has posted narrow diamond tactics similar to current Real Madrid formation so you can try this for example
  3. @Ikthop I think a fast striker stretching defence, moving into channels and keeping CB's busy still helped my AMC scoring goals (assists mostly came from crosses and cutbacks from AMR/L and DR/L). FM just likes fast strikers . Best option might be a fast striker with good passing/vision and high work rate/teamwork plus maybe a set of suitable PI/traits (looks for pass rather than attempting to score, try killer balls often etc)
  4. @Ikthop interesting stuff! I find joy in FM only when I can concentrate the goals on a designated goalscorer and really boost his numbers . Doesn't necessarily have to be a striker though traditionally it's easier in FM that it is in fact a striker (namely a fast striker). My ideal set-up would be using a creative target man type supporting a P/AF/SS goalscorer (in STC or AMC position) I just don't have the tactical talent/patience to make it work PEP 3241 was phenomenal for me in FM 23 as it created lots of chances (and different type of chances) for the striker while also allowing AMC's to shine (I'm a fan of AMC/No.10 too). Unfortunately didn't work the same for me in FM 24 so switched to 4231 with three AP's hoping they'd be mainly creators/passers... I was wrong . I can confirm AMC position in particular (not just Vini Locatelli) seemed to get the most chances and eventually outscored the striker. Locatelli was just an original member of Amazonas FC with decent attributes for AMC and above average quickness for third division (14/14 pace/acceleration), and the strikers I used were mostly speed merchants with no real creativity or playmaking skills. I've signed better AMC's for second season (most notably some personal favorites like Diego Raposo, Jhemerson and Yann Rolim) and the trend of the goalscoring AMC continues. I think atm the ME might have a tendency to favor AMC's scoring at higher rate than before so should be a good year for you . Narrow 4231 with three AMC's seem to have very good ratings too as well as the 4222 brazilian box with two AMC's so you have a few options.
  5. @knap Paulo Vyctor has repeatedly outscored Haaland in the past sadly he's been downgraded by researchers this year But yeah atm I think the only strikers who can reach crazy numbers are the rare tall, fast target man types. 20-30 goals boost from corner kicks would surely help
  6. Had some pretty ridiculous results using the 4231 with three APs in my typical brazilian save. Amazonas FC, brazilian third division (predicted 5th) Totally annihilated Série C in an undefeated season scoring over four goals per game and conceding less than 0,5 per game. I always tend to overachieve thanks to experience in brazilian leagues and above average squad building/managing (and knap's tactics ) but this was pretty wild considering the average quality of my team. Especially as we managed to win brazilian cup too... Winning brazilian cup as a third division club in first season is quite the achievement, I had managed this maybe a couple of times in my long FM career but with better players (Paulo Vyctor and Daniel Raposo ftw) and without scoring so many goals against top clubs (5-1 vs Flamengo courtesy of a corner hat trick by the CB). Success in minor competitions like Copa Verde and Campeonato Amazonense completed the famous Quadruple. Here's the thing. Despite a dominating season, a million goals scored and all my efforts I couldn't get a striker to really shine and score as expected (or as in FM 23 ). Used the weak Amazonense to try different tactics (started with the 3241 but conceded too many goals against decent teams) and different types of striker (fast strikers still seem the most efficient) though in the end STC was often outscored by AMC (Vini Locatelli won Série C Top Scorer with 15 goals) and even CB (corner kicks are out of control!) and scored around 0,5 goals per game wich is good IRL but terrible for my FM standards . One thing I noticed is the AMC tends to get to the end of crosses/cut backs as often as STC which is probably the reason of AMC scoring prowess. Other than that I can confirm what most people are reporting in feedback: too many goals scored, too many injuries (including goalkeepers), broken player/squad interaction and a few bugs persisting from a decade... Though I'm mostly annoyed that despite probably the most dominating, overachieving season in recent FMs and scoring about a million team goals my strikers posted average numbers .
  7. Great to see this back for FM 24! The quality and level of detail of your files were absolutely amazing last year. Looking forward to the USA/Canada file and if you fancy a new challenge you could take a shot at the incredibly complicated New Zealand system
  8. I'm scoring an outrageous number of goals from corners using MU 31. Goals are spread between top 2 aerial threats (currently DC and DCL), still trying the old PEP 3241 and it works much better with the SP boost though non-elite strikers seem to score much less than in FM 23
  9. @mrsmiis is an assistant researcher for New Zealand and Oceania as well as a Wellington Phoenix fan
  10. SI go get that permission from his parents
  11. Do you always set the best corner kick taker or change for inswinging corners on both sides? Btw should I use MC set pieces with Lorenzo Lucca (Jumping 17 Heading 16 Strength 16)
  12. @knap seeing the 4123 doing so well is it possible that ME is closer to FM22 than FM23? In that case you might try to test the old Kashmir that did great in FM22 (Very Attacking mentality though)
  13. Great news! My go-to skin for years now thanks @Ceyvol
  14. @knap looks good! With two IFB could also be a good chance to add the Libero
  15. @knap nice numbers for Haaland Tested without set pieces so that's probably why it felt less powerful. Corner kicks were a beast in FM 23 and look like they're the same in FM 24 (except for the new unfriendly SP interface)
  16. @knap only briefly, I've tried loading an old save from FM 23 and seemed to struggle to score compared to FM 23. I thought maybe it lost some power because set pieces were not imported (I used to score a lot from corners) but yeah it didn't play well like in FM 23. Time to go full Pep and unleash the libero and the inverted fullback
